I should’ve added – additionally, the executive order will require all government agencies to deliver any data pertinent to the citizenship status of any person in the US. To me this signals a strategy that the Government will use to litigate the results of the 2020 Census and use an empirical approach to supplement the the Census in a way that will allow a more accurate apportionment for Congressional representation. Without illegals California would likely lose much of their representation.

Yeah, yeah, just over the next hill. Why did the lawyers of the Department of Commerce do such a sloppy job?

It was all a set up in the first place and I could see that President Trump was mad as hell. I feel so betrayed. Sure, sure the government bureaucrats are going to get that information to President Trump in jig time, no slow walking that info. nope, no sir-re

What this boils down to is they win, we lose – as f-ing usual.
This was a set up from the defective lawyers of the Commerce Department giving the Celebrity Bon-v-vont Justice Roberts a fig leaf, to him waiting till the last minute to render his opinion which deprived We The People of information we need. And if we didn’t need it we would have had no trouble getting it – so set up, set up, set up.

THEY ALL STINK – and if we ever get our Republic back their names will live in infamy – Sessions, Tillerson, Barr, Rosenstein, Comey, Brennan, Clapper, McCabe, that lady who somehow “lost her way” and sold us out to China – poor thing I hear she is going to go to jail for a little over three years.

Three years for treason to We The People – no wonder they all do it.

      • Though he dislikes being told “no”, POTUS finally figured out he couldn’t appeal a SCOTUS ruling, or void it through an EO. Until Commerce offered a clearer, more honest reason for including it, the question would remain legally disallowed on the 2020 Census. AG Barr and PDJT admitted in their joint announcement that it would take too long to litigate over the question to be able to perform the Census on time.

He was probably also advised that trying to get the info via the Census was unlikely to produce truthful data. I’ve been saying that for days. If you ask those with an incentive to lie, they will lie. Get the answers through other avenues, other kinds of government data.

        Sorry, but no

Nothing “takes away the whole illegal voting base” except preventing illegals from voting … AT THE POLLS (and by mail-in ballot)

And the new “database count” WON’T “be used to substract illegals from representation”.

Apportionment – I’m almost certain – is and will continue to be based on the official Census count. By statute, I’d suspect.

Congress is going to pass new laws to let the new “database count” to replace the Census in apportionment?

        I don’t think so.

      • Of course he can get the info from other sources! There’s mortgage data, rent assistance programs, the IRS. Some have served in the military. LOTS of ways. They have not included a direct citizenship question on the short form that everyone gets since 1950, but the government has been able to produce data on citizens vs. non-citizens all along.

BTW, the House apportionment is based on ALL residents in a state, not just citizens.

sense anymore and there are too many paid for judges with Obama’s name on them that is telling the President what to do and oh yes, while I am on the subject
when PT came into office he signed an EO to stop some of the people coming from very bad countries from coming here and it was deemed that he had every right to do this, Now another judge is telling someone they can go ahead with a stupid lawsuit in order to stop it
President Trump did this for Security reasons but lawsuit says there is no way that’s true. so
again he is being stopped from doing his job by a corrupt judge who thinks more about money than about doing the job that he was put on that bench to do.. all corrupt judges in United States and that includes a few on the SP Court

Because they are gaming the system.
They know that the more illegals who vote — and have no reservations or worries about being targeted by ICE — they higher the count for those States like CA who have high population which means more funding $$ and more congressional representation. This dilutes the voting representation and funding for other States NOT housing a large illegal alien population.
IF they were to be forced to state they were not a US citizen, the likelihood is they would not participate— which then decreases the representation and funding. That may seem unfair to some, but the fact is, if it were done this way, it would be a disincentive to the current open borders policy by the Dems. They wouldn’t advocate for open borders if it did not benefit them.

Five out of six haven’t been directly asked since 1950, yet they have been doing House apportionment all along. There have clearly ALREADY been other ways used to get the data over the past six Census periods.
