@sc conserv-It’s not a MISTAKE-it’s what Trump wants. The southern border invasion will drive down wages for construction, etc., while Trump and India/Modi will increase H1Bs and drive down wages in the IT sector-

I know Treeepers adore Trump (I voted for DJT and will again in 2020) but that’s the deal…I’m retired and don’t have any real skin in the game BUT, there was a deal made that allowed Trump to win.

The Dems are driving waaaaay far left, so Trump wins in 2020. But in 2024 a “Kennedy Democrat” will emerge and win

Just reading your comments makes me think it’s a trollish and virulent anti-Trump site which actually encourages otherwise normal folk to lay aside discernment in favor of valueless conspiracy theories. If what you say is true, why on earth would you vote for such a duplicitous person as you say you plan to do in 2020?

You can contribute to a politician’s campaign up to $2,700 per election cycle. In contrast, PACs (formed by deep-pocket donors, unions, and the like) can contribute $millions. Is it surprising to you that politicians do not care about your individual views? The SCOTUS legalized such a racket (in the Citizens United decision).

Now, what was it that Chief Justice Roberts said about judges being a-political?

“Chief Justice Roberts and Justices Scalia, Thomas, Kennedy and Alito had to overrule two previous cases where the Court ruled correctly that Congress and the States may try to keep corporate money out of politics. In the Citizens United case, the Court cast aside a 2003 decision, McConnell v. FEC, where the Court upheld the very provision it now ruled unconstitutional, and a 1990 decision, Austin v. Chamber of Commerce, where the Court had ruled that a Michigan law limiting corporate expenditures in elections did not violate the First Amendment.”

The point where the illegals are entering is out of room and completely overwhelmed. They are moving them to other Border Patrol facilities for processing. They are NOT ALLOWED to hold or deport the family units, and that is the majority of what they are dealing with… so they have to find somewhere for them to go as they await their hearings. Those are the groups that end up being allowed in after processing. Blame CONGRESS and the BLACK ROBE MAFIA!

He was there to basically beg for the money for the resources they need to deal with the situation.

Once we take back the House, then maybe the roundups can begin.

On a slightly better note, Mexico is finally stepping up their immigration enforcement and have begun to arrest and deport illegals before they reach the border. OANN reported last night that 1400 arrests were made this past week.

“Released into the community” doesn’t sound like “further processing” to me. This is nothing new BTW.

People can soft sell this all they want, but it is an invasion…well, not really an invasion, the illegals are being let in AND supported. Supported like housing, food, medical care, babies being birthed for free, and this is all being paid for, one way or another, by US citizen tax payers. Getting the citizens to pay for the takeover of their own country.

        It’s insanity.

Nothing in the responces to indicate these people apprehended at the border, with kids in tow, aren’t being ‘processed’prior to release.

It is more than frustrating how many people do not understand the problems with our immigration system is with CONGRESS.

McAleenan is dealing with the so called “family units” within the laws set up by our elected officials in Congress yet too many here are still screaming at our President.

And Ann Coulter does not help with her hair on fire columns.

As you point out McAleenan IS NOT ALLOWED by law to deport or hold family units and I believe that is why he he said what he did.

        He is desperate for help.

Desperate to get the word out that Congress and so many Judges are not working with the interest of the American Citizen in mind.

Just about every single immigration law is set up to favor the illegal, not just the legal immigrant but the illegal border jumper, over the American citizen.

Illegals now have more “rights” than citizens.

We have had either a lot of Trolls or a lot of misguided posters pop up here on the Treehosue lately.

DHS Builds 42 Miles of Mostly Replacement Border Wall Since Trump’s Inauguration
    https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2019/05/24/dhs-builds-42-miles-of-mostly-replacement-border-wall-since-trumps-inauguration/

    Excerpt:

In a brief on border wall construction, DHS officials say the agency has completed about 42 miles of border wall, most of which replace existing barriers, since President Trump’s inauguration. About 205 miles of “new and updated border barriers have been funded” since January 2017, the brief states.

Additionally, DHS officials say the Defense Department is set to construct about 131 miles of “of new border barriers in place of dilapidated or outdated designs, in addition to road construction and lighting installation.”

In a breakdown by DHS, about 226 miles of the total 336 miles expected to be constructed is of update primary barriers, updated vehicle barriers, or update secondary barriers. The other 110 miles are designated for “new primary wall” and “new levee wall.”

10: I have posted this before but basically it normally takes government about 3-1/2 years to spend any given year’s funding.

For example: Of 2016 funding to build 40 miles of border wall they have only built 39.5 miles so far or about 1 mile per month. The last half mile is estimated to be completed sometime after June 2019. About 3-1/2 years!

What President Trump has been trying to do is compress the timeline down to between 2-1/2 years and 2 years. For government 2 years is considered very very aggressive!

Another example: The first of 2018 wall contracts were just awarded between 1 and 2 months ago. Construction estimated to be completed early 2020. About 2 to 2-1/2 years.

Note: The last of the 2018 congressional funding wall contracts, for 12 miles, will not be awarded until December 31, 2019! Actual wall construction usually takes a year so we are probably looking at 2020 before completion. About 2-1/2 to 3 years!

This is what the President is up against! Total frustration!

Now a federal judge has just stopped all DoD wall construction dead in its tracks!

      So more frustration!

M5.1 quake hits Chiba Pref; no tsunami alert
    May 25 05:05 pm JST 9 Comments
    TOKYO
An earthquake with an estimated magnitude of 5.1 rattled parts of Tokyo and its surrounding areas on Saturday afternoon, hours before U.S. President Donald Trump was due to arrive for a four-day visit as a state guest, but no tsunami warning was issued, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.

The epicenter of the quake, which occurred around 3:20 p.m. at a depth of around 40 kilometers, was in the southern part of Chiba Prefecture, the agency said. It is right around the area where Trump is scheduled to play golf with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Sunday.

The quake at the most registered a lower 5 on the Japanese seismic intensity scale of 7 in Chonan, a town about 60 kilometers southeast of Tokyo and just next to the city of Mobara where the two leaders’ golf venue is located.

I sort of 1/2 look at Scott Adams , more to see topics , his per8scopes are too long , but saw how he now thinks unless things change with social media ( banning conservatives , shutting down stories, getting ready to toperdo him THIS time etc ) the secret unseen hand of the prejudiced social media will make it impossible for President Trump to win re-election etc .

Personally I don’t agree , probably 1/2 social media people don’t bother to vote , and most Trump voters are too busy for social media and ignore it ( personally , I never heard of 90% of the “hot “ internet YouTube / twitter sensations /people being mentioned on NY Post’s gossip column “Page 6” )Plus VSGTrump Twitter is potent instrument that overrides the noise and chatter and Fake News . Plus Paschle.( spelling) is no dummy for sure . So I think Scott is too far into the internet bubble to see outside it . I hope I am right . In 2016 it was “the Blue Wall” which made President Hillary a 95% winner ,going into 2020 will they claim that the Social Media Wall will be the stopper against VSG?

PM Abe met with Iranian Foreigh Minister on May 16th. Below is an interesting story in Japan Today. Not sure what to make of it.

“Abe reportedly considering visit to Iran in mid-June”

FTA:. Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is considering a visit to Iran as early as mid-June, NHK national television said on Friday, the first such trip in four decades, as global concern grows about rising tension between Iran and the United States.

Iran said the visit was unlikely in the near future.

The United States withdrew last year from a 2015 international nuclear deal with Iran, and is ratcheting up sanctions on the Middle East nation in efforts to strangle its economy by ending its international sales of crude oil.

Japan was a major buyer of Iranian oil for decades before the U.S. sanctions.

The report on plans for a visit by Abe comes a week after Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif visited Japan and met the prime minister and Foreign Minister Taro Kono.

NHK said Abe was likely to discuss his plan for a Tehran visit with U.S. President Donald Trump when the latter visits Japan from Saturday, and a final decision might rest on the results of that.

This is why I usually post three months at a time on virtually every indicator or measurement.

So lets take a look at the consumer confidence levels in The E. U. as they go to polls.
Consumer confidence survey of 2,300 consumers done on a monthly basis. Respondents are asked to rate level of past and future economic conditions, including personal financial conditions, employment, inflation and climate for major purchases.

A diffusion index above 0.0 indicates optimism below 0.0 indicates pessimism. This was released May 21.

    May: -6.5
    April: -8
    March: -7
    February: -7
    January: -8

Believe it or not they are actually reporting this as good news. Why you ask, well is moved up from -8 to -6.5 . Next the long term average is actually -10. In addition they changed the way they measure in Germany so they can report a -6.5 otherwise it would be -7 for May. If the old eastern bloc wasn’t part of this it would be much lower, that’s my personal opinion.

Sounds like the EU version of the “right trac wrong direction poll done here in U.S., and EU is wrong direction.

On the POLITICAL front, an interesting new trend or dynamic most haven’t noticed.

We all know how Tea Party, Perot party and similar political movements have been side tracked and undermined, over the years by the Big club.

Well, the new “what part of LEAVE don’t you undrrstand? party of Nigel didn’t exist, 6 weeks ago.

If we look in the Netherlands, where the geet widers populist/nationalist party was being discredited, a new party was created 6 weeks ago.

In the election, this new party went from -0- to 13. The established party (with the majority) went from 13-12, and wilders lost SOME to the new party, coming in at 8, IIRC.

So, in other words this NEW party went from unheard of, to majority party in 6 weeks!

Perhaps, with ‘social media’, this is a method national/populists can use, to avoid ‘the resistance’; form up shortly before the election. Like an ‘Oct. Surprise, only appear on the scene so late in the game that opposition dorsn’t have time for dirty tricks?

It seems Mr. Juncker is determined to alienate any European who may feel nationalist urges in the hope they will come to realize that resistance is futile.

The disclosure that time revealed some fairly minor issues such as an irregular heartbeat in addition to detailing previous operations, including removing a benign polyp during a colonoscopy in 1996, the outlet reported.

It remains unclear if Biden had more aneurysms. Some medical experts say that people who have had an aneurysm can have another one.

    https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2019/05/24/dhs-100-border-crossers-with-children-being-released-into-u-s-given-work-permits/

Acting Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kevin McAleenan confirmed to Congress this week that his agency is merely acting as a checkpoint for adults crossing the United States-Mexico border with children, as “100 percent” are being released into the interior of the country.

During a hearing before the Senate Homeland Security Committee, McAleenan said DHS is releasing “100 percent” of adult border crossers into the interior of the country who arrive with children at the southern border, including those who are not even asking for asylum.

Then, within four to six weeks, McAleenan said the adult border crossers who have been released into the U.S. are given work permits allowing them to take American jobs while they await their court hearings, oftentimes two years down the road. [and don’t show up for that hearing – Zippy]

Federal Judge Orders Permanent Injunction Against Riverside County Over Unconstitutional ‘CCW’

    Carry License Policy

LOS ANGELES (May 24, 2019) — Today, plaintiffs in a federal lawsuit filed last fall announced that Senior United States District Judge Dean D. Pregerson entered an order permanently enjoining Riverside County, California from having a policy and practice of preventing legal U.S. residents from exercising their right to apply for a carry license in Van Nieuwenhuyzen, et al. v. Riverside, CA Sheriff Stanley Sniff, et al. A copy of the court filings can be viewed at http://www.firearmspolicy.org/legal.

The order states that “this Judgment for a Permanent Injunction shall be entered as to and against the defendants in this action, who are now and hereby enjoined from enforcing, and continuing to enforce, implement or abide by any policy regarding the issuance of permits to carry concealed weapons (CCWs) to the extent that such policy prohibits non-U.S. citizens who are otherwise qualified, lawful permanent residents of the County of Riverside, and who are not otherwise prohibited from owning firearms, from applying or obtaining a permit to carry a concealed weapon under state law, Cal. Pen. Code § 26150, et seq.”

“The Second Amendment means that people have a fundamental, individual right to carry loaded firearms outside their homes for lawful purposes, and the Fourteenth Amendment ensures that those human rights are protected not just for those individuals the government favors, but for all people legally residing in our nation,” explained Lee. “We are delighted with the outcome in this case and look forward to restoring civil rights in future cases.”

CCP China Inc raising the bar on nasty

    述评:美国发动对华贸易战的五大世界性危害
(Commentary: Five World-wide Hazards of the United States Launching Trade War Against China)

Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, May 25 (Reporter Zhou Wenqi, Wang Jianhua) The US government has not only launched a trade war with China, but also has been escalating in depth and breadth, and there has been a trend beyond the scope of trade disputes, which brings the world’s prospects More and more uncertainty has become a major bane that threatens global interests and human well-being.
The US government’s thinking on China’s economic relations and trade bullying has produced or is currently producing five major world-wide hazards, affecting the international community’s perception and understanding of global governance and development.
    Rebounding world economic growth
Trade growth is a key force driving global economic growth. However, the first major economy launched a trade war and a scientific and technological blockade against the second largest economy, leaving the world economy, which was originally in a difficult recovery, to face a crisis of recession.
According to the latest UN forecast, the world economic growth rate will slow down to 2.7% in 2019, down by 0.3 percentage points from the forecast for the beginning of the year. The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) also cut the estimate of global economic growth in 2019 by 0.3 percentage points.
The World Trade Organization (WTO) has previously lowered its global trade growth forecast for 2019 from the previous 3.7% to 2.6%. The global trade sentiment index for the second quarter of this year has been at its lowest level since March 2010.
US investment bank Morgan Stanley warned that if the United States imposes a 25% tariff on 200 billion US dollars of Chinese goods for three or four months, then the global economic growth rate may slow down by about 50 basis points to 2.7%.
The countries of the world play a comparative advantage and cooperate with each other to form a global industrial chain, supply chain and value chain that operate efficiently. The United States actually increases taxes on all companies in the chain, forcing entrepreneurs to reduce investment, and the economic growth momentum is weakened.
According to the analysis of the Japanese research institute Daiwa and the general research, Japanese companies will directly lose about 500 million US dollars due to Sino-US trade friction. French Finance Minister Bruno Lemer said that Sino-US trade friction will directly lead to a reduction in the circulation of goods and damage employment opportunities in Europe and France.
Due to the deterioration of the world economic environment, some countries will have to relax monetary policy to stimulate their economic growth. This will fuel global debt accumulation, increase medium-term financial risks, and hinder the long-term healthy development of the world economy.
Seriously undermine the international economic order
The United States is the main founder of today’s international economic order and multilateral trading system. However, today it has become a major factor in undermining the international economic order, undermining the multilateral trading system, and disrupting the world economic governance system.
Since the Second World War, a global rule-based international order, a multilateral system with the United Nations at its core, and a multilateral trading system with the WTO at its core have been gradually established. Under the premise of abiding by the basic framework of the international political and economic order, countries have opened up cooperation and achieved common development.
However, the United States launched a trade war against China, inciting economic populism and counter-globalization to spread globally, posing a subversive threat to the international economic order. Once the foundation of the international economic order is completely destroyed, it will cause global economic activities to fall into turmoil and chaos, and damage the long-term development interests of all countries in the world.
By circumventing the WTO dispute settlement mechanism, provoking economic and trade frictions according to domestic laws, and levying tariffs on Chinese goods on a large scale without WTO authorization or violations – this shows the US’s disregard of the multilateral trading system and its self-interest over international rules. The embarrassment above makes the international economic order face an unprecedented danger.
What needs special attention is that the United States, which prides itself on “complete market economy,” also openly uses state power and technological advantages, and implements a technological embargo on Chinese technology companies such as Huawei in the name of “national security.” This is a ruthless trampling on the principles of market economy and the order of commercial civilization.
The actions of the United States have already made some technology companies in other countries feel the fear of the cold weather and caused incalculable direct and indirect damage to the development of the world’s science and technology industry.
Creating a new imbalance in the global economy
The direct excuse for the United States to launch a trade war with China is “trade imbalance.” In fact, the root cause of the US trade deficit with China is caused by structural problems such as too much consumption and insufficient savings.
If the United States does not focus on solving its own problems, it will impose high tariffs on goods from other countries such as China. The result will only be counterproductive.
More seriously, the United States itself is one of the main causes of global economic imbalances. Its current practices will not only help the current global economic rebalancing, but will create a new global economic structural imbalance.
The wrong behavior of the United States is putting many companies in a dilemma. In particular, many foreign companies in China may face cost increases caused by trade wars if they continue to stay in China. If they choose to leave, they may lose the Chinese market for a long time. Although the labor cost is lower in the transfer country, the infrastructure, business environment and industrial chain are far less complete than China.
According to a survey conducted by the European Chamber of Commerce, about one-third of entrepreneurs surveyed believe that Sino-US economic and trade friction is their biggest concern. The uncertainty of Sino-US economic and trade relations makes it more difficult for companies to make business decisions. A serious negative impact has come.
A major source of structural imbalances in the global economy is the fact that the global industrial division of labor is not rational enough.
Some manufacturing economies that are downstream of the value chain are engaged in manufacturing and processing, resulting in excessive competition and overcapacity due to lower barriers to entry.
Some advanced economies, which are at the high end of the value chain, use technological monopoly advantages and global pricing powers to extract too much interest and hinder the process of transformation and upgrading of developing economies.
The direct impact and derivative effects of the US trade war against China and some of the technological embargoes are creating new distortions and creating new structural imbalances in the world economy.
    “Destructive government variables”
According to the common sense of political economy, a government should be the subject of dealing with unstable factors, and should not become an unstable factor. Obeying the rules and attaching importance to commitments can enable different individuals, groups and countries to form extensive cooperation, and it is the main feature of human beings entering civilized society.
Given the proportion of the world economy and the right to speak in the international political and economic governance system, the United States should have made a positive contribution to the prosperity and stability of the world. However, the United States has taken a series of acts of dishonesty in disregard of the internationally accepted norms that countries have accepted and generally followed, making itself a serious “destructive variable”.
The U.S. government’s erratic and profit-seeking features are exposed in Sino-US trade negotiations, and the uncertainties in its manufacturing communications have seriously disrupted the expectations and behavior of global market players.
Previously, from the withdrawal of UNESCO, the UN Human Rights Council and other international organizations, to the withdrawal of the Paris Climate Agreement, the Iranian nuclear comprehensive agreement, the China-Treaty Treaty and other international treaties, the “American priority” led to a series of destructive acts against the world. The situation of peaceful development constitutes a serious impact.
Obviously, the United States is becoming a “black swan” with high vigilance in the international community and a “grey rhinoceros” with strict precautions.
Indiscriminate violation of economic sovereignty of other countries
At the negotiating table, the US government proposed a number of arrogant demands to China, including restricting the development of state-owned enterprises. Obviously, this is beyond the scope and scope of trade negotiations and touches on China’s basic economic system.
This shows that behind the United States launching a trade war against China, it is trying to invade China’s economic sovereignty and force China to damage its core interests.
In the 1974 Charter of Economic Rights and Duties of States adopted by the United Nations, it has clearly stated that “Every country has full and permanent sovereignty over all its wealth, natural resources and economic activities, including ownership, use and disposal rights, and Freedom to exercise this sovereignty.”
For example, after World War II, the international trade system led by the United States encouraged developed economies to transfer technology to developing economies to form a “technology spillover” effect, to adapt to their own economic and social changes, and to take advantage of the low-cost advantages of developing countries’ production. Strong complementarity with its strong capital and advanced technology advantages.
The Chinese government encourages foreign investment in the process of technical cooperation based on voluntary principles and business rules. The conditions for technical cooperation are determined by the parties to the investment in an equal and fair manner.
It can be seen that with regard to technology transfer, the Chinese government does not have mandatory institutional and systemic behaviors, but practices that are reasonably standardized and in line with the market economy.
However, the United States has given China a “compulsory technology transfer” hat, forcing China to change the relevant development path.
Other countries have also suffered. The U.S. government frequently uses “long arm jurisdiction” and requires entities or individuals in other countries to obey their domestic laws, or they will be penalized for inclusion in the “list of entities.”
According to statistics, as of August last year, the number of entities listed on the “Entity List” of the US Department of Commerce reached 1,013.
This is actually part of the evidence that the United States has violated the economic sovereignty of other countries.

Are others finding this? I am pro-Trump. But not worshipfully so. I view Trump as an instrument towards restoring self-determination to the American system. As are Farage, Orban and Salvini etc etc. in their respective systems. Yes, I am a Christian and see the hand of providence on Trump as well. But not to the exclusion of rationality or recourse to idol worship. Does that make sense?
