I agree with you. Good to be skeptical. So far the MSM is saying that this is going through the courts but the records have not yet been turned over. Trump is fighting it. Sadly, two lower court judges say it’s proper, what a shame. No privacy these days.

Remember, covfefe – these are ‘O’ judges – who are legislating from the bench – imho – there is an appeal process – so how can this go through without an appeal? Just don’t see this as credible.

There isn’t an appeal process because the obama judges disallowed a stay pending appeal. Meaning the Democrats get the records while it works its way through the courts effectively making appeal meaningless.

Our judicial system is completely corrupt.

I thought PT is appealing one of the judgments, Lulu – guess not all of them are allowing a stay pending appeal…

Agree – judicial system is bonkers and corrupt – and they are just going to ‘O’ judges, too – Geesh!

Trump has not been accused of a crime and Congress does not have the right to snoop and fish for one under “oversight.” Really, how rotten are these people and how do we get rid of them. We are reaching a series of Constitutional Crisis’s IMHO let me explain. 1st Judge Joe-DG & his wife on Lou Dobbs last night noted the fact that one Judge can thwart the entire immigration apparatus needs to be fast tracked to the SC is a must IMHO. 2nd, this constant harassment of his entire Presidential Team by the House is also something that need SC review and ruling, our government is seized up like an engine that has been run without oil. 3rd, I think PDJT should also request a fast track SC ruling on the status of his Tax Return. IMHO where is his 4th Amendment rights? I don’t care about college funding for his kids, or real estate deal, these are his effects, he has protection like the rest of us. I am no neophyte in this arena. Without getting to deep into it, I was with a firm that did taxes about the time that e-filing was getting popular. Do you have any idea what we were doing to protect our clients electronically and also a printed copy of there taxes? I won’t give the details, however for a Bank to hand over willy-nilly his records to Maxine is Horrid , end of story.I hope post his return from his foreign trips PDJT proceeds on all three fronts, enough is enough, and I could care less about the SC’s vacation plans, conservative or liberal, get-r-done…

Chief Justice Roberts is likely going to exact his full measure of revenge for the President calling out his corrupt colleagues. There will be no fast track to put anything on the Supreme Court calendar. Chief Justice Roberts will hide behind the “full measure of the judicial process” as he has for other critical cases. That means the President will be required to exhaust all appeals and remedies before the Supreme Court takes up considering if the President’s case is worthy of their attention.

Justice Roberts is either the pettiest of judges, the most corrupt of Justices or all the above. I vote for all the above.

        | “The fact that he (President) is wrapping his arms around Putin,” she alleged at a recent press conference, “While Putin is continuing to advance into Korea.” The congresswoman knew something was off in her statement as she looked somewhat confused, but this did not stop her from repeating the Korea allegation. “Crimea,” whispered a concerned liberal standing behind her. Let’s be clear: Putin invaded the Crimea, and not North or South Korea. |

But at least in her district… you don’t have to worry about getting shot– when you’re dead. You can dump & run any dearly departed w/o fear too!👋🏼

      To acquire a new Rolls-Royce.”

      And your income’s rather low,
Yet you’ve kept a dozen women in the very best hotels,
Would you kindly explain how so?”
“I can see your Honor doesn’t pull his punches,
And it looks a trifle fishy, I’ll admit.
But for one whole week I went without my lunches,
And it mounted up, your Honor, bit by bit.

Tillerson met Tuesday with the House Foreign Affairs Committee’s Democratic Chairman Rep. Eliot Engel and ranking Republican Rep. Discussion topics centered on the White House’s relationship with Russia and uncertainty surrounding the role of Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law and a senior White House adviser, in dictating foreign policy.

McCaul holds District 10 in Texas and is always a top target of the Democrats – District 10 extends from Austin towards Houston and is heavily GOP. McCaul was a Trump Supporter in 2016 and served as a Security advisor to Donald Trump. Why was he at this meeting with a bitter Tillerson? Sounds like a good idea to have GOP representation there to hear what was said. Tillerson was hired basically to clean out the top floor at State and get the FOIA requests processed. He was also helpful with step #1 of TeamTrump’s approach to the Mid-East. Tillerson (who I liked) was never going to last long in the Trump Administration – 2 Mega Alpha CEO’s with each of them wanting to call the shots on everything. Donald Trump is the President and Tillerson didn’t accept that soon enough to escape with some dignity intact.

McCaul is the 3rd wealthiest member of Congress (money from his wife’s family), a former Deputy Attorney General of Texas, very pro-Texas, a lot of experience at Homeland Security (may end up in the Cabinet at some point) and National Security expert.

It is NOT important to achieving his goal to call Tillerson “dumb as a rock.” No person who rose to be CEO of a powerful oil company is dumb. Further, if anyone Trump personally hired IS dumb, then what’s that say for his leadership skills in recognizing stupidity?

Let’s start applying this same logic to people like Pelosi and Cummings.

… CTH Legal Eagles: Could this work?

    • Obama California-District Judges in the 9th Circuit have issued NATIONWIDE INJUNCTIONS vs Trump’s Border Security and Immigration Control Actions
… Upending “historical precedent” that has limited Injunctions to ONLY a Court’s Circuit Territory

    • So Trump Texas-District Judge in the 5th Circuit simply issues a 5th-CIRCUIT INJUNCTION
… Protecting Fifth-Circuit State Citizens in Texas against the Invasion of Illegals
… By VOIDING ENFORCEMENT of the NATIONWIDE INJUNCTION in the 5th Circuit

    Knock-on Effects:

    • 5th Circuit Appellate Court gets to decide for/against protection of its Citizens and
… Whether EVERY District Court can can cancel EVERY Presidential Action NATIONWIDE and
… Whether ANY Circuit can has Jurisdiction over Citizens in EVERY OTHER CIRCUIT

    • Supreme Court gets to decide whether the COURTS can LEGISLATE from the BENCH and
… Whether Rogue District and Appellate Judges can violate the Constitution with IMPUNITY
… Whether EVERY District and Appellate Judge is INOCULATED from ANY CONSEQUENCE.

This border nonsense is just that. There are so many different aspects to what is happening that you could find several issues to end the invasion. Drugs, human trafficking, gangs, cartel, terrorists, trade. The most obvious is human rights abuses. Then there is Turtle crossing inhibited.

BKN, I took Constitutional Law (memorably from “the” expert) over 50 years ago, so am not up to date (as an understatement). But it looks like an excellent proposal to get SC attention. Different Federal Districts and Circuits should be able to evaluate and protect their citizens’ rights from a loony or dishonestly-politically-motivated or selected district judge of another circuit. Activist groups “forum shop” to get a preferred of conspiring judge (think Hawaii). Cases are supposed to be randomly assigned, but that is honored in the breech in my personal experience. If an activist group doesn’t like a judge assignment, the case can be dropped and another filed, until the desired pre-biased judge is assigned to a political case. Under these conditions, there is no policy reason that a conspiring or politically-sympathetic District Court judge should be able to shut down the government nationwide, to spite the rights of citizens in other states and districts. A Federal District Court Judge can’t even subpoena a witness outside the limited geography of the assigned district. There is no reason the writ of a “forum selected” judge should extend against the Federal government, or affect the rights or services of citizens of other Districts, beyond that geographical district.

Federal District Judges are not required to follow rulings of trial judges of other Circuits, or even Appellate decisions of other Circuits, but do give them favored consideration for the general philosophical concept of stare decisis. The SC prudently likes to have issues percolate for a while, get fully vetted and discussed from different judges, Circuits, parties, law professors, groups and approaches, before taking and deciding cases.

An important approach in addition to SC or Appellate Court reversal of goofy politically-inspired decisions by politically-selected and politically-conspiring judges, would be an enhanced impeachment mechanism by the Appellate Circuits and the Supreme Court against judges participating in political forum selection, and politically-motivated decisions which are clearly biased or intellectually/legally dishonest. The SC and Appellate courts should have a mechanism other than “reversed and remanded”. There should be a “reversed and remanded to a different judge, for clear incompetence or bad faith, with a recommendation for impeachment by congress”. How would they know that a district court judge is politically crooked and intellectually dishonest? To paraphrase Justice Potter Stewart’s understanding of obscenity, the Appellate Courts and SC Justices “know it when they see it”.

The Qur’an states: Whosoever has spared the life of a soul, it is as though he has spared the life of all people. Whosoever has killed a soul, it is as though he has murdered all of mankind. – Qur’an 5:32 Most Muslim scholars would say that a foetus in the womb is recognised and protected by Islam as a human life. http://www.bbc.co.uk/religion/religions/islam/islamethics/abortion_1.shtml

By contrast, the Koran and the Hadith COMMAND the subjugation or death of ALL non-Muslims by any means possible in order to conquer the earth for Allah through his prophet Mohammad.
And by the way, the verses in the Koran and the Hadith in praise of the Muslims who wage war on the kuffar (non-Muslims) and die because of it, are given more favor in the beyond. So much for the Islamic claims that only Muslims are to be permitted the sanctity of life.

Ok…I rarely criticize the Trump administration but I think Mnuchin’s punt to not add Harriet Tubman to the $20-bill by 2020 — as scheduled, as promised — is terribly short-sighted, in an election year no less; an election year where Trump needs black and female voters on board. Barring Tubman is a made-to-order talking point for the dems: it’s simple; it resonates.

To be clear, I do not love the pathetically PC motivation behind the push to get Tubman on the currency. It was literally “Let’s find a woman!!” But that said, Tubman IS a hugely deserving American.

For those of you who have read biographies on her, you know she was so impressive for her altruism, her courage, her ingenuity. She overcame so much; she was enslaved, illiterate and disabled…but never intimidated by anyone or anything. She was not only pro-2A…she carried. She showed the gun to each one of her “passengers” on the underground railroad to make sure they understood that she would shoot anyone who tried to bolt because they would endanger the rest of the group. We all have historical figures that we just can’t get over and, for me, she’s one of them. I especially love her intense practicality in doing whatever was needed: She would spy for the Union army one day, bake pies and tend to sick soldiers the next.

They all have scripts from which they read and no matter the answer(s) from the Trump rep in the hot seat, they don”t even listen….just continue to mewl on with the script.

      Nope, not an inch.

We all know that Donald Trump’s political campaign was spied on by a combination of DOJ/FBI/CIA/MI6 and a member of the Australian government.

But do you remember what the DOJ/FBI did to Alaska senator, Ted Stevens back in 2008 in order to “help” him lose his senate seat?

Senator Stevens was convicted of corruption a week to ten days before his reelection bid. Difficult to type that one without breaking out in laughter. The FBI/DOJ convicting someone ELSE of corruption!

Stevens lost. A couple of months AFTER THE ELECTION, the judge threw out the case based on discrepancies and malfeasance in the DOJ’s case (sound familiar?) including hiding evidence from the defense
    https://www.adn.com/alaska-news/article/stevens-conviction-dismissed-judge-orders-prosecution-investigation/2009/04/07/

and one of the FBI agents sleeping with a witness

    https://www.nola.com/crime/2009/09/post_4.html

Shades of Agent Strzok and Lawyer Page!

But it was too late. Stevens had lost the election (as Trump was supposed to do). He died in a plane crash a few months after the judge threw out the case. (Eric Holder refused to renew charges. My guess is that the result he wanted already had been achieved. Another reason any case when someone (almost always a Republican) loses his/her election based on government intervention and/or voter fraud HAS TO BE REVOTED)

By the way, Robert Mueller was head of the FBI in 2008.

      yy4u;
      Yes, remember Stevens case.
Thats why its called “Oct. Surprise”; a manufactured and phoney scandal, ‘exposed’ just before the Nov. election, with just enough time to resonate, NOT enough time for the Candidate to refute.

We have been seeing this ‘technique’ used more and more, for YEARS.

      Starts with the old line;
“I would NEVER say my opponent has sex with farm animals, and thats all I will say on the subject!” (Politician, to the press)
After press leaves, aid says “But sir! We have no evidence our opponent has sex with farm animals!”

“Yeah, but now for the rest of the campaign, he is going to be denying it!”

I am pretty sure with the pee dossier, this is EXACTLY what was going on; it was a manufactured “Oct. surprise” generated by the Clinton campaign.

NEVER intended to be anything else.
Couldn’t get press to ‘run’ with it ‘as is’, so tried to get FBI to ‘investigate’ (didn’t CARE if they actually DID any investigating, just so the ‘fact’ they were investigating it could be reported.

Seperate but inter-related, IC realised they were ‘busted’ by adm.rogers, abusing NSA database, and rushed they cobbled together the operation for the FISA warrants, using the dossier to justify.

The NSA database gave the abusers a rich source of material to use, a resource for creating “Oct. surprises”.

Attention Republican Party: It’s time to go to war footing. In case you haven’t realized it, the Dems are already there. They don’t like you, they don’t want to work with you, and they will do anything to undermine your election chances. You will not get anything (of significance) done before the 2020 election. Focus all of your attention in getting good candidates on the ballots (that agree with President Trump) and support the heck out of their candidacies. For those in the Republican party that are not supportive, isolate them, neutralize them, keep them from having any committee assignments where they have clout and work to find a replacement in the primaries/elections that you will get behind. If you don’t, you will leave the House to the dems and this will go on indefinitely even if DJT wins the Presidency again. I know you say you ‘want to work with democrats across the aisle’ but they’re having none of it. Forget it! If you don’t declare war, you’ll be sorry and so will your constituents that support you. Hopefully, you’re about to get some serious ammo to use in this process (AG Barr, Durham, Huber, IG Horowitz) so load it into your muskets and fire away at the enemy.

This article is from the Globe and Mail:

How Canada and Mexico ironed out an end to the U.S. tariff war
(…) In the end, the Trump administration dropped its most significant demand – that Canada and Mexico accept quotas capping the steel and aluminum they would export to the U.S. – and then made a string of further concessions culminating in Mr. Lighthizer’s final retreat in his Friday phone call with Ms. Freeland.

The behind-the-scenes machinations that culminated in the deal, detailed for The Globe and Mail by two Canadian officials with direct knowledge of the talks, turned on three key factors: the refusal of Mexican and Canadian negotiators to accept quotas; pressure from free-trade-loving congressional Republicans who threatened not to ratify Mr. Trump’s renegotiated North American free-trade agreement while tariffs remained; and the Trump administration’s desire to close one front of its global trade wars while intensifying its fight with China. The Globe and Mail granted the Canadian officials anonymity because they would not divulge confidential information on the talks otherwise. (…)

Here’s how to reply to anybody who claims Don Jr.’s Trump Tower meeting is evidence of anything:

Don Jr. agreed to meet with people who claimed to have evidence that Hillary was involved in a crime. When he saw that what they had was nonsense, he ended the meeting and did not pursue it. I think we can safely assume that, if there was evidence of a crime, he would have taken it to the authorities.

    On the other hand……

Hillary hired foreign spies (including the very same people that tried to entrap Don Jr) to fabricate evidence of a Trump-Russia conspiracy and spread the false accusations throughout the government and the media.

If the Russians had been really colluding with Trump, do you think they would have set up a meeting, IN the Trump Tower, which they HAD to know was bugged? And send a lawyer who had been let in special by Loretta Lynch and who met with the DNC-paid opposition research group before and after the meeting?

Plus if there was collusion there would have been no need for a meeting at all! They would have used Ham Radio to send the coded messages! Or any other Six Ways from Sunday methods to send instructions!

  48. I just watched San Fran Nan lie about the meeting with PDJT yesterday. Apparently the new argument from the Dems is that “the President has flipped” and probably “needs a break”. Nothing Nancy says in front of a microphone is without purpose. IMO this is the Dems circling back to the 25th amendment with claims that PDJT is not mentally capable of being President. All other attempts to remove him have failed so let’s try this one again.

I wish the talking heads at the WH would recognize the ploy. Varney had Mercedes Schlapp on for her response and she should’ve pointed out this out. She didn’t. Too bad she missed the opportunity.
