That is the way it works in NY. We had two candidates in the last House primary. The committee selected who they wanted, and left the other candidate in the dust. They shook hands.

We had a choice of a retired State Trooper and a retired soldier. IMHO, the retired State Trooper was the weaker move, and voila!

This is why Cox was just shown the door, IMO.

              • Judith says:

Wrong approach. Elections ARE term limits. Retaining power is their only motivation to do the right thing occasionally. Notice how they always get motivated in an election year.

Take away that reelection incentive and there’s zero motivation to respond to the will of the voters. All they would do in that scenario is lie to get in and then they’re home free!

The same argument can be made for free enterprise and capitalism. Restraints only remove the incentive to excel and maybe even accomplish great things.

A better idea is to weed out the RINOS, who we can plainly see, which motivates others to fall in line with the will of the people.

                Accountability.

Voters need to be attentive and involved, removing the dead wood without salting the entire forest. That is entirely on us.

              • Agree with Judith.
Expanding on her comment, let’s talk about “lame duck” terms. Term limits sounds good but there’s always unintended consequences to them.

As it stands right now, an election in November defeating an incumbent causes a 3-month lame duck term for the beaten incumbent where he’s not responsible to any of his voters.

Term limits would create a two-year lame duck term where he’s not responsible to any of his voters. Still think term limits is a good thing? Besides taking away your vote, it encourages much mischief!

In the days immediately following the 2016 presidential election, there was not ONE “in the can ready” headline heralding the *correct* election result.

          Not one.

I know this well, as I was travelling through two major US airports two days after the election, and I perused all those shops for something -anything- to celebrate the victory of our brand-new President Trump.

Entire news stores, filled to the rafters with newspapers and every magazine known to man, had *two* rather flaccid headlines on only two of their periodicals, that essentially chirped, “oh by the way can you believe this crap” propaganda barf. Very negative.

This fake news blackout dovetailed quite nicely with all those blank stares from the NPC “reporters” on election night. As far as the New World Order is concerned, President Trump and a *fair* election result simply do not compute: No comprende!

And that makes me absolutely furious! They have not let up, but have in fact doubled down in their now TWO YEAR refusal to concede this election to ‘We the People,’ in a PEACEFUL transition of power.

Who do these effin bastards think they are?

Trump 2020 campaign manager Brad Parscale is disputing media reports that claim the campaign’s internal polling shows the president trailing Joe Biden in key battleground states.

Politico reported Monday that that the campaign recently conducted polls in 17 states that ultimately showed President Donald Trump losing to former Vice President Joe Biden in three major Rust Belt states: Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan.

Parscale, however, contended in a Tuesday statement that the campaign’s data is being misrepresented through “selectively leaked information.””

Those polls are most likely garbage regardless of leaked or not leaked information. However, it’s still somewhat interesting to see what the polls are mis-predicting.

‘Unprecedented power’: William Barr blasts federal judges over nationwide injunctions
By Jeff Mordock – The Washington Times – Tuesday, May 21, 2019
Attorney General William P. Barr on Tuesday railed against federal courts issuing nationwide injunctions blocking President Trump from implementing his policies, saying they wield “unprecedented power.”

In a speech before the American Law Institute, Mr. Barr said such injunctions block politicians of all stripes from enacting the voters’ will.

“One judge can, in effect, cancel the policy with the stroke of the pen,” he said. “No official in the United States government can exercise that kind of nationwide power, with the sole exception of the president. And the Constitution subjects him to nationwide election, among other constitutional checks, as a prerequisite to wielding that power.”

Let’s say Trump wins a second term and all the rats get purged from the govt.
We get a balanced budget, good trade agreements, happy farmers, the potholes get fixed and RBG is replaced by a Scalia clone. Everybody’s happy.
How do we then fix the moral and ethical decay that has been increasingly rotting America for all these years?
Drugs, child abuse, total dependency on social services by millions of people who have no interest in right or wrong, good or bad.
It’s not going to be fixed by a “good “ economy because these people have no interest in participating.

Today I made the 100 mile round trip to get a few groceries and the guy ahead of me in line kept tugging at his pant leg. As he took his stuff and left, I saw on the floor that he had crapped his pants and let it drop on the floor at the checkout counter.

NM governor, rents bus, sends 55 asylum seekers to Denver
GOPUSA StaffGazette (Colorado Springs, Colo.) POSTED ON 6:46 AM MAY 15, 2019 8

          NM Governor Michelle Grisham
A bus carrying more than two-dozen asylum-seeking families from the U.S.-Mexico border arrived in Denver about 2 a.m. Monday, courtesy of the New Mexico governor’s office.

The bus included 55 people, mostly from Central America, a portion of the spillover population from the churches and homeless camps filled with about 1,000 immigrants a day arriving in El Paso, Texas, and Las Cruces, N.M., said Ruben Garcia, founder and executive director of Annunciation House, an El Paso organization that helps immigrants.

New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham made the bus available Sunday for the 10-hour drive, because U.S. immigration officials refuse to transport those allowed into the country more than eight hours from their entry point, Garcia said.

Besides helping house, clothe and feed the asylum-seekers for a few days, volunteers in Denver will help them connect with relatives and find transportation to their next destination.

“It would be totally coincidental if any of those 22, 23 families has relatives in Denver and stay there,” he said, predicting that most will be gone from Denver by about Wednesday.

Garcia said there is no plan to send more buses to Denver; the offer of a bus from Grisham was an opportunity volunteers couldn’t turn down.

“We hope the governor will make other buses available, but, obviously, it’s expensive,” Garcia said, adding that it’s the federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s responsibility to accommodate those granted asylum.

“ICE is the one that’s supposed to take them,” he said. “ICE won’t do it, so this was a one-time opportunity and we wanted to test it out.”

Lujan Grisham spokesperson Claudia Tristán said the Colorado governor’s office was notified, but not until after the bus had arrived in Denver.

“Since this was handled by NGOs [non-governmental organizations], basically a group of churches, that wasn’t necessary,” she said, adding that the two governors’ staffs have since talked. “It wasn’t a state-to-state operation.”

One of the destinations is the First Unitarian Society of Denver.

Colorado Gov. Jared Polis’ office so far hasn’t responded to a request for a comment.

Tristán said the bus cost the state of New Mexico about $4,000. State and local leaders were forced to do something after federal agents dropped off the asylum-seekers at a bus stop in Las Cruces, about 45 miles north of the border, on Friday. The shelters there already were full, Tristán said.

Future buses to relieve overcrowding at the border would be dependent on donations made to the nonprofit Santa Fe Community Foundation, which already has a fund to help refugees and asylum-seekers, she said.

The Annunciation House in El Paso also is raising money to help those stuck without money or food at the border.

Stephanie Donner, a former legal counselor to Gov. John Hickenlooper and a member of his presidential campaign, took a group of about 35 Denver leaders to the border at El Paso in March.

The women — professionals in business, politics and philanthropy — saw families living under bridges and fed dinner to the asylum-seekers through the Annunciation House.

“It’s unsustainable in terms of processing these people,” said Donner, who grew up in El Paso.

A Spanish speaker, she is informally helping the immigrants who came to Denver, delivering them breakfast Monday morning.

“The 55 won’t be here very long, but one of the things they need help with is transportation, getting people to the airports or to a bus station,” Donner said. “That’s already in motion. It’ll be quick. It’s just like in El Paso. All these people passing through, they don’t stay there. El Paso is just a gate-keeper.”

It’s a nothing burger. Tillerson disagreed with Trump on foreign policy? So? Yeah, we know. That’s why he was fired. Tillerson was a globalist who refused to support Trump’s agenda behind his back.

Why does everybody now say Lynch was recused from the Hillary investigation? She was not recused, though she should have been. She did a weasel move by saying she would abide by whatever the FBI recommended, but she still had control because she did not actually recuse herself. The only reason I can think of for her to not recuse herself would have been so she could be the “backstop” in case things started to go bad for Hillary.

It’s just a coincidence that he was known to wear blackface and had the nickname “Coonman”.

The big question is will he do a “moonwalk” across the stage to celebrate?

Does it really need to be investigated? Didn’t he admit it before saying he wasn’t sure it was him or not? I guess Northam did it so many times he couldn’t be certain it was him in that particular picture.

In four special elections held today in Pennsylvania, the GOP won all four! One US House race, two state senate races and one state house race. Overall, the numbers for the one statewide primary race (Superior Court) look pretty competitve numbers wise, especially considering there was a Philly mayor primary which turned out alot of demonrata.

Reminds me of abscam, where all those congressman were on film, stuffing $ in their coat pockets.

Back when the FBI busted crooked politicians, instead of carrying their water!

      https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2019/05/why_did_trump_hold_a_rally_in_this_small_pennsylvania_town.html

FTA “In 1996, during the midst of Bill Clinton’s desperate drive to become president, 16 French club members from the Montoursville high school and five of their chaperones died in the crash of TWA Flight 800 off the coast of Long Island.”

Perhaps President Trump has seen something about the Flight 800 coverup that will be exposed when he declassifies all the illegal spying documents? The Flight 800 coverup is really no different than the Benghazi coverup both Clinton and obama were running for reelection and wanted to hide acts of terrorism before the election. Hide the truth what Democrats specialize in. I never bought the fuel tank explosion explanation. Godspeed President Trump!

No secret why conservatives increasingly can’t stand to watch network news, one after another they hire these people who hate America and hate us. One would have to be a real masochist to enjoy watching them, especially knowing as we now do that they lie about everything.

In 2016, Biden said he wasn’t running for Pres. because his family needed him. Well, looks like his family still needs him. Thinking he should go home and take care of family problems. Nation will be praying for them and thankful.

Biden’s family needed him to protect their corruption from Hillary. If he had dared run against her, they would be in jail.

But now, everybody will be just fine with their corruption. Except for us deplorables.
