The DEMS in the House (173 Republicans voted Nay) passed the attack on the Religious Freedoms guaranteed in the First Amendment.

The attack is called The Equality Act, an Orwellian title, and is covered in the sheep’s clothing of fairness for the mentally ill homosexuals, lesbians, the sexually self-butchered, etc.

“Building on the momentum from the Supreme Court’s Obergefell ruling that redefined marriage throughout America, LGBT activists working with Democratic lawmakers have unveiled a new bill titled “The Equality Act.” The brevity of the bill’s title matches neither its scope nor its impact on federal law and fundamental liberties found in the Constitution. If enacted into law, the Equality Act would further erode religious liberty, transform public opinion on sexuality, and harm the public perception of those who believe in traditional or biblical sexual morality.

They’d have to get that thing passed by the Senate and signed by Trump for it to be law. I think it’s pretty much a Democrat stunt.

They need to get PDT on record that he is Anti Lgbtq (did I miss a letter?) So the Dems can holler how racist, anti Lgbtq he is all through the election. They will pass many other laws with the same level of hollering before the election ramps up for the Dems to demonstrate how ANTI PDT and the republican party is. The Dems are so predictable it is becoming boring.

How much more racist and ‘anti’ can Trump or any of us be? They have screamed ‘wolf ‘too many times, no one is listening and it is backfiring. If this passes the Senate because those wusses are still afraid of being called name, let them. PDJT will not sign it.

Hey, publicdiscourse (author of the quoted portion):

Please cite the law which “redefined“ marriage.

Oh, that’s right, you are relying on a SC decision as ‘the law’, and not their proper function in setting forth an edict to Congress to make a law redefining ‘marriage’.

Thus, your interpretive stance, slanted to just this one special interest group, is simply not inclusive enough.

If your stated purpose in ‘equality for all’ is an extension of the ‘marriage equality’, then ANY special interest group’s idea of what ‘marriage’ is, should be viable, and, defended by you, including, but not limited to: religious or cultural norms that condone child betrothals; polygamous cults; necrophiliacs; incestuous sects; animal lovers; etc.

What you say in satire, can also be read seriously. The left is all about incrementalism, AKA “the camel’s nose in the tent.” This is just their opening play. Be assured that those other things you mention are on their “to-do” list, to be introduced, er, incrementally as time passes. Once the public becomes numb to the first phase, they introduce the next item, and so on. First came gay marriage, and once they pounded that into everyone’s head, then came the gender fluidity nonsense. What’s next? Who knows?

        • Debra says:

Which is why I bring it up — to get in front of it.

Congress should pass a Logical Defense of Marriage Act, an act stating that the definition of ‘Marriage’ shall remain as between a man and a woman. Then, it should state that the sub-set of Marriage will be sub-sumed into the whole set of Civil Union. Finally, the act should define ‘Civil Union’ to consist only of two unrelated adults who are not partners in any other Civil Union.

If the LGBT were truly all about ‘legal benefits’ and understood that ‘marriage equality’ means any special interest’s group think as to what ‘marriage’ is, must be considered valid in order for that aim to be realized, maybe they can disassociate themselves from this insanity . . .

The intensifying trade fight between the U.S. and China saw investors flee Chinese equities at the fastest pace in more than three years, according to fund-flow data compiled by the Institute of International Finance.

The past two weeks have seen net outflows for the asset class of $5.32 billion, with exits over the past week at $2.76 billion — the largest weekly outflow since July 2015 (see chart below), the institute said Friday. That is when China’s equity markets were thrown into turmoil by the devaluation of the yuan. Investors weren’t just exiting Chinese equities, however, with total emerging market outflows totaling $13 billion.

U.S., Canada reach deal to end steel, aluminum tariffs and retaliatory levies

    https://www.marketwatch.com/story/us-canada-reach-deal-to-end-steel-aluminum-tariffs-and-retaliatory-levies-2019-05-17?mod=mw_theo_homepage

The U.S. and Canada on Friday said they have reached a deal where the U.S. will end tariffs imposed under Section 232 on imports of aluminum and steel products from Canada, while Canada will remove all tariffs imposed in retaliation. The two sides will take the step in two days and terminate World Trade Organization litigation. The two sides say they will take measures to prevent the importation of aluminum and steel that is unfairly subsidized and/or sold at dumped prices; and prevent the transshipment of aluminum and steel made outside of Canada or the United States to the other country.

Zippy: In other words, Canada will no longer act as a channel for Chinese aluminum and steel to bypass tariffs.

I’m thinking the new “merit based” immigration system proposal is a back-door method of getting those H1b types the “tech” industry so cherishes into the country in mass numbers.
It won’t matter that they won’t belong to a category of indentured servant which has to work cheaper.
When you flood the market with workers, what happens to wages?
Companies like Disney won’t be criticized for displacing Americans anymore.

All those Chinese who got relatively cheap educations in our state universities, will now jump to the head of the line when it comes to hiring.
    Am I missing something?
It looks like we are about to just take something harmful to the American worker, dress it up, slap a new label on it, make it better for the foreign worker, and call it reform.

Your comment makes sense, but if you look at the big picture I think there’s another rational explanation for merit based immigration: we don’t want a flood of people coming into the country who can’t or won’t work. It’s better to bring in people who add value. Would you arhter have an immigrant who has a degree or one of the pregnant mamas with 4 other kids in tow? They should limit the number per field though. Tech has been decimated.

    Another Trump trump card?

This is kind of interesting. Gateway Pundit is reporting that Trump is notifying employers they have 500,000 workers with bogus social security numbers
    and….
Drudge is reporting that ICE is busing thousands of immigrants to the bluest of the blue counties and sanctuary cities. The blue cities are starting to whine about the unfairness and expense of it all.

But once here, the immigrants can just freely move to where the jobs are, right? But imagine if employer nationwide suddenly realize that there are risks/fines to hiring illegals! The immigrants will immediately become a huge burden to these blue counties if the employers nationwide are fearful of hiring them. Without jobs, they will have nowhere to go and will stay in the blue counties and states because they know there is a greater chance of being deported in the red ones. Businesses nationwide are going to be in a world of hurt without their low paid labor. The citizens in these blue counties/States will (understandably) become furious with the overload on their system and the crime that will be associated. Liberals all talk a big game until it effects them personally, at which point they are the biggest NIMBY creatures on the planet.

I’m seeing the outline of a situation where the our useless representatives are going to be desperate to come to the table to negotiate with Trump on legal immigration and green card reform.

GWP story is referencing NYT story. 570K employers notified. Not sure if multiple people could be at each business , which would increase how many don’t match.

      snip NYT

“The Social Security Administration has mailed “no-match letters” to more than 570,000 employers since March, sending shock waves through the hospitality, construction and agriculture industries, which rely heavily on undocumented workers. The letters have left many employers conflicted, uncertain whether to take action that could result in losing workers or to risk fines down the road.

The notices do not necessarily require employers to take action, but direct them to take steps to reconcile mismatches, which would require contacting the workers. Undocumented workers who are notified of the letters by their employers often choose to quickly resign, fearing scrutiny from federal immigration authorities. But employers who do nothing could also face enforcement actions.”

This problem is huge. When there are mismatches, the reported earnings are recorded in the Social Security Administration Earnings Suspense File (ESF).

As of 2012 according to an SSA OIG report in 2015, SSA’s ESF reached $1.2 trillion in uncredited wages associated with 333 million W-2s for TYs 1937 to 2012.

It creates havoc for people who go in to claim their SSA retirement benefits and find their earnings are scrambled. It’s an administrative nightmare.

Wow. Alinsky would be proud. While this sucks for the good citizens of these counties, it may be awesome in the long run. The smug liberal virtue signalers will be screeching NIMBY!! within days and demanding that their corrupt democrat leaders DO SOMETHING!! They will give the illegals great welfare benefits, driver’s licenses and sign them up to vote at the same time. Once they are in the system, either they will vote or someone will vote for them. Next thing you know, the state’s electoral college votes go to a dim candidate.

I would love to put warning flyers in bathrooms that ICE is showing up next day and take note who does not show up the next day for work.

By the way, these jobs have great wages, benefits, hours. Great blue collar jobs. It is a myth that employers want illegals for cheap labor; at least around here.

I think Sundance’s view that this was the Glen Simpson Dossier, laundered through Steele is more likely. Either way, it’s quite clearly there was a coordinated effort by a small group of players. Hopefully Barr will get to the bottom of it.

Why is this happening? Why is not there legislation that prevents Chinese colonization in North America? Not only are/were they buying up farmland and letting it lie fallow so that we would have to buy food from them, but they also bought hundreds of acres in Michigan and tried to get the local government to allow them to build a Chinese ONLY town, with the intent that they would import the residents from China. That is the one I know about, there may be others of which I am not aware.

Of course, that was pre TPP.

Exclusive — 2016 Arizona Police Report: Cocaine Pipe Found in Car Rented by Joe Biden’s Son Hunter Biden, Authorities Declined to Prosecute

Breitbart News has exclusively obtained a heretofore unreported-on police report from days before the 2016 presidential election that describes how a cocaine pipe that authorities determined was used to smoke cocaine was found in a rental car returned to an Arizona Hertz location in the middle of the night. Also found in the vehicle were several personal effects of Hunter Biden, then-Vice President Joe Biden’s son, like two of his DC driver’s licenses, multiple credit cards, and personally identifying information like a Delaware Attorney General badge and a U.S. Secret Service business card that police said bore his name. Hunter Biden, according to the police report, had rented the vehicle from a location in California with the intent to return it to the Prescott, Arizona, location, where it was discovered the morning after it was dropped off with the drug paraphernalia and Hunter Biden’s personal effects inside.

Instead of returning the car keys to the drop box where after-hours returns are supposed to go, the car was returned—according to the police report—with the keys left in the gas tank compartment of the vehicle. Also found inside the vehicle, per the police report, were two drivers’ licenses both bearing Hunter Biden’s legal name Robert Biden, as well as “some credit cards with the same name,” “a secret service business card,” and an “Attorney General’s badge” all contained inside a wallet that Hertz rental employees discovered—along with a pipe that Hertz employees thought and police later confirmed was used to smoke illicit drugs, as well as “a white powdery substance in the arm rest of the vehicle.”

Alabama has gone off the rails with its new abortion bill.
There is no way that most Americans, on either side of this issue, will support forcing a 12 YO girl to bear her own fathers baby.

And what a shame it is for the Pro-Life side, just when we were gaining so much support from people red pilled by the recent film , “Unplanned” among other things, such as the extremist NY and VA. bills.

Thesefolks in AL. are the people who managed to get a DEMOCRAT elected as their Senate rep- in a solid Red State- a couple years back with their foolishness. And the jerks who wrote and signed onto this thing have admitted that the only reason they made it so extreme was to force it to the Supreme Court. ie. for POLITICS, only.

Pro-tip: If you’re going for a dog and pony political show only, do it when important elections and nominations (ie. Presidential, Supreme Court) are OVER.

It’s my hope that *many* GOP reps will come out and tell the truth: It is NOT OK to force a young child to carry her own father’s child to birth. And forcing a grown woman to bear her rapists child is not OK, either. Yes, offer them help, encourage them to keep it, but FORCING them to bear the child is ridiculous.

You’ve outdone yourself, Alabama and it’s gonna backfire, big time.

BTW, Pat Robertson agrees with me. Sheesh.

God bless Alabama for taking a stand. My SO says that, if the legislators actually voted the will of the majority of the people in that state, then Alabama’s pro-life move will probably stand. If it was a few legislators grandstanding for votes, then that could be another story. Time will tell.

Let me say this, DJT is putting a hook in the mouth of the federal leviathan and bringing it down. When that happens, as we all know, since legislators abhor a power vacuum, most probably the state/local governments will try to outdo each other in a grab for that relinquished authority and it will be up to the people to make sure that the authority is returned to the proper source — us!

Thanks to DJT, God bless him, we locals will be dealing with Goliath, which is manageable, rather than leviathan. We have an opportunity to stand up to our state and local legislators and bring THEM back into line. We must be “woke” and determined not to miss that window of opportunity when it comes. People need to take their towns, cities and counties back.

I am all for term limits on every government official. Too many career politicians have gotten fat and sassy and they do not fear us, the people. We need to remind them who their employers are and that they are replaceable–without these ridiculous golden parachutes.

Same holds true for the schools. OMG! Some of the schools in my little, bitty county are more like penitentiaries than schools bc of the gestapo tactics of the superintendent, school board and principals, not bc the children are disruptive. Just as the feds used the Patriot Act to control citizens, the school boards have gone way overboard with tactics designed to shut the parents out of their children’s education on the excuse of “protecting” the children from terror attacks.

Going back to Alabama, and I do not know the particulars, it might have been better to put the abortion bill to a referendum by the people at the next election.

Although, here in Georgia, changes in law have been put to referendum, VOTED DOWN by the people, BUT a year or so later, those snakes in the legislature down at the Gold Dome will change the language a little, conjure up a law and pass it anyway.

At any rate, it’s a moot point for a little girl whose own father rapes her. Cuz I seriously doubt she’s have the wherewithal to go to the nearest drugstore and ask for it- if she even knows they exist.

I do find it very curious that Gen. Kelley, the former Chief of Staff to POTUS who was let go, recently announced that he is working for a Refugee Agency in Florida. It has been said that Kelley is pro-Immigration and was soft on the border. I find it interesting that Kelley used to be the Head of the DHS and that the DHS now chooses Florida to dump Migrants. Really interesting read. Just getting the sense that a huge portion of this entire thing was being initially driven by various Russians and westerners who lost out to rivals in the Russian energy business. Disinformation with a purpose being picked up and magnified by Dems for their own political and monetary gain.

The entire situation has created an enormous opportunity for the grifting lobbying class in DC to milk the Russians billionaires to either put their rivals on the sanctions lists or take themselves off. We are seeing it in smaller form happening with Iran. They created an enormously profitable money machine that is using US government policy to enrich themselves.

One of the things about the way President Trump uses the word “I” in his tweets and statements about policy decisions is that it makes it very difficult for the lobbying class to sell their ability to influence. If President Trump makes the decision then what good is it to pay a lobbying firm that has questionable access to him? I call it “strategic narcissism” but it’s killing millions of dollars in revenue for countless DC firms. No wonder they hate him.
