He Is Risen

Gospel LK 24:1-12

At daybreak on the first day of the week
the women who had come from Galilee with Jesus
took the spices they had prepared
and went to the tomb.
They found the stone rolled away from the tomb;
but when they entered,
they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.

While they were puzzling over this, behold,
two men in dazzling garments appeared to them.
They were terrified and bowed their faces to the ground.
They said to them,
“Why do you seek the living one among the dead?
He is not here, but he has been raised.
Remember what he said to you while he was still in Galilee,
that the Son of Man must be handed over to sinners
and be crucified, and rise on the third day.”
And they remembered his words.
Then they returned from the tomb
and announced all these things to the eleven
and to all the others.
The women were Mary Magdalene, Joanna, and Mary the mother of James;
the others who accompanied them also told this to the apostles,
but their story seemed like nonsense
and they did not believe them.
But Peter got up and ran to the tomb,
bent down, and saw the burial cloths alone;
then he went home amazed at what had happened.

Good Passover and Resurrection Day to you and yours.

Thank you for posting the Scriptures.
    They tell the story.
They are part of the story because Jesus Christ is the Word Incarnate.

Shalom and may God richly bless you and yours today as you faithfully live before Him.

    • Amen and praise God our Father and Lord Jesus Christ.

Thank you Jesus for Your great mercy, grace and enduring, eternal love for us, so lowly, so unworthy…but nevertheless, You have chosen us before the foundation of the world and have made us Yours, yes, Your treasure forever. Nothing shall separate us from Your love.

DD…yours was a brief comment. But potent!

The Lord desires us to acknowledge so great a gift, to be thankful…and to say so.

      So you did.

Bless you brother and may God go with you, be close to you always wherever you go and whatever you do.

      God Bless! He is Risen!~

The first tree budded in our yard yesterday, and my daughter was ecstatic. “Mom!” she cried. “Look how beautiful!” I was struck by the way her joy spilled over into my own heart. I stood for a moment in awe of new life. Fresh beginnings. The promise of spring made visible. As we were getting ready for Easter, a season of renewal, it was the unbridled excitement my daughter displayed that let me experience joy in a new and unexpected way.

And suddenly, I was reminded of the empty tomb and the childlike wonder of those who witnessed it—who stood at the entrance of the place where just hours before, the turning point in history had happened: human feet on holy ground. Hearts filled with the utter delight of God’s love made visible in a way that it had never been before.

That’s what I want on Easter Sunday. Even more than egg hunts and chocolates and new dresses (which are all delightful!) I want to be filled with His joy in a new way, and let it spill out everywhere.

And I believe the children in our lives have a lot to teach us about joy.

      Jesus knew it, too:

He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. 3 And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.”Matthew 18:2-3 NIV

Two men in dazzling garments, at the low stone shelf where Jesus had been laid, and where the shroud would be.

This is parallel to Exodus, with the two cherubs on either side of of mercy seat of the ark, where man would encounter God once a year for atonement for mankind.

Even though the “current news” is only about two days old, it’s as stale as last week’s bread left out on the counter:
    – PTrump is totally vindicated from collusion and obstruction
    – The Mueller report is total partisan garbage
    – Trump and his admin are now proven deeply corrupt
    – Investigations will continue to hold Trump accountable
    – Talking heads talking about the talk of other talking heads

So, what is the real current news? The real current news is about 2,000 years old, yet remains as fresh and fragrant as the flowers blooming now in spring meadows:
    – Jesus died for our sins according to the Scriptures
    – Believing, our sins are covered by His blood, remembered by God no more
    – Jesus was buried, and rose again on the third day
    – Jesus’ resurrection fills us with a living expectation of our own resurrection to life with Him

On this momentous weekend, what is the news that will be deserving and commanding our attention? I know where my thoughts will lie.

O heart of Jesus, do not look at our sins but the blood of the martrys who cries mercy

If you look carefully at this postcard, You also see what looks like the Capitol building behind Jesus. Also a firing squad doing their job. The man in the video says he’ll do another video on this postcard after Easter. Very interesting.

I’m not Catholic, but I have always found it very interesting and inspiring.

    1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. 14 For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. 15 According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.

I never thought of this before – Today, Easter, day of Resurrection, is more of a ‘beginning’ New Year than is the birth of Jesus & the calendar new year. I’ll add my Happy Easter wishes to all your wishes and to those that are not posted but are heartfelt.
Ahhhh, the Mueller report is ended and our great president’s agenda kicks into high gear. Feels great, doesn’t it?

A beautiful day! No other expression of love given to each of us, past, present & future has such insurmountable meaning. He gave His life so that we may have everlasting life; we need only acknowledge, repent, and believe. Praise God – He is risen!
He is the way, the truth & the light.
Spread His Word far & wide!
