Friday April 19th – Open Thread

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.

For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

    STABAT MATER: Notre Dame Survived

The Paris fire brigade knew exactly what they were doing. They knew they could not save the roof, and so they went inside and saved the building. And, voila! It worked.

Incredibly, it begins to appear at least from preliminary reports, that all the Cathedral of Notre Dame de Paris is going to need is a lot of love and a new roof.

The City Hall of Paris released photos of the interior today which show massive amounts of debris from an 800-year-old wooden-beamed roof that, sadly, is no more.

I am going to be bold, and blunt, perhaps brusque. But not calloused and not without understanding.

God has saved His children. How many times must He save us? In our walk of faith it is an implied action. In the Holy Bible, often is used the Hebrew word for ‘believe’; is an action verb, literally to run. In the words of some great men who have been instrumental in my life, get off your duff and get to it.

As we do, we do in obedience to God, for all the glory is to Him. Too, God hath showed mercy to us in our every moment for so great in His love.

Since Nancy Pelosi is out on a European junket, with who knows whomelse, I’d like to see a complete list of her party, their reasons for being on the trip, the cost of the trip (fuel/salaries etc for the military airplane that is schlepping them around, hotels, meals), and most importantly, an itemized list of all the top shelf liquor, wine and beer consumed on the trip. I have some personal experience with how well the bars are stocked on the 89th Airlift Wing luxury jets used for these congressional junkets and it pisses me off to no end my tax dollars are supporting this. POTUS obviously does not consume alcohol on AF1 and alcohol is forbidden on all military aricraft other than those the CODELS use. There is no reason for the rules to be different for congressional delegations. POTUS should issue an executive order forbidding alcohol on ALL military aircraft. He can either publicize it, or do it quietly and see if they complain…

    Good Morning Patriots,

Over the last two years I have benefitted greatly from Sundance’s penetrating analysis of the situation facing Trump in his presidency, to the point where many times it has prevented me from going insane and losing hope. I have always appreciated you treepers, though I have mostly been a lurker, and only recently more active in commenting. So on this Good Friday morning I would like to offer you Patriots a gift. It is the only thing I have of value that I can leave electronically. It is simply my reflection on this, the day of our Lord’s suffering. Hope it is worthy of all you have given me.

Some 2100 years ago a certain younger man, from the region of Galilee, was spending some quality time in a roof-top suit in the city of peace, with his closest friends. Because he had a real sense of his own destiny, he knew he was about to enter upon a period of suffering that would eclipse all the world’s suffering, from before his earthly sojourn, and thereafter. In those moments, hours and days that would soon be his portion, he gave no regard for his own personal well-being, though he was well within in his Devinely given rights to refuse what was about to break upon his life. On this, the morning of the beginning of the end, or was it the end of the beginning, he was preparing his friends for what was about to come. These people were ordinary folks; tax collectors, fishermen, herdsmen, servants, maidens, and a few radical vagabonds. They had grown to love this man because everywhere he led them people found healing, joy, liberation, forgiveness and most of all, an understanding of the meaning of their lives. They loved him more than life itself, or so they thought in that moment. Little did they know that the anguish they were about to encounter would eventually be eclipsed by an event so bright and hopeful, that these temporary sufferings would become a distant memory in its all-consuming light.

In the years leading up to this moment, he had spent all of his efforts declaring to anyone who would listen, that the very foundations of universal hope resided in the uniqueness of his own being and message. He would spend hours talking with his friends, telling stories, debating with the political and religious leaders of his nation, and the adoring crowds that had slowly gathered around him over the three years of his travels. He spoke to them of Love and mercy, justice and grace, freedom and obedience, power and humility, and all of the real qualities that make for human authenticity. He taught them about his Father, in whom his own life was eternally enfolded as a divine Son, and how even his humanity was likewise enfolded in that divine love. He promised them that their lives too would soon be hidden in the Love of the Father, and that they would share in their mutual glory. He showed them often the fullness of this divine glory, virtually declaring that to have observed his life, heard his words, and seen his works, made them partakers in the knowledge of his Father, who it turns out, was their Father too, but in a qualitatively different way. More than that, he demonstrated this divine relation in his words, in his “signs” (as some called them), and in his sheer acts of kindness.

He was now about to promise to his closest friends and followers that, though the short-term suffering would be almost greater than he or they could bear, nevertheless they would, through his sufferings, be enabled to overcome their own sufferings, not only for a time, but for all eternity. Furthermore, they, themselves would become bearers of such a hope to the whole world. He promised them that they would receive an animating Spirit that would permeate their whole being, transform their entire lives and prepare them for an eternity in which all that they were now experiencing and would soon suffer, will pass out of memory and be replaced by a mutual love in relation. One that would mark the fullness of the meaning of their reason for being.

But right now, it was Friday, two days before any such a realization of life could dawn upon them. Long and dark was the tunnel that led to that light. Massive and unyielding was the weight of the brokenness of the world that this simple Galilean was about to come under. Bewildering in its intensity, totalizing in its depth, the sheer magnitude of it would no doubt cause him to quail, to beg to have it taken away. But so much more was the promise that would follow, and the power of life that would emanate from the defeat of this burden, that he would obediently submit. He assumed that his followers would, for a time, be scattered and hide away, would even deny they knew him; but the fullness of the meaning of his words to them, there, in that upper chamber, would eventually draw them back together. He knew that, in the grief and sadness of their loss, when they would begin to wonder what to do, that is was only Friday night after all, and that Sunday was coming!

    How big is your God?

    Genesis 1:1-4 NIV
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.
Current estimates suggest there are about 2 trillion galaxies in the observable universe and about 100 million stars in the average galaxy.
Do you believe God of the Bible created the heavens and earth? If not Him who? What is the name of that god? If there is no god how? Just by a spontaneous big bang? The universe and all life was created spontaneously all by itself? Only God can create something out of nothing. Everything else that has been newly created has used existing materials or matter previously created by God. How big is your God?

    Exodus 3:1-6
3 Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. 2 There the angel of the LORD appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up. 3 So Moses thought, “I will go over and see this strange sight—why the bush does not burn up.” 4 When the LORD saw that he had gone over to look, God called to him from within the bush, “Moses! Moses!” And Moses said, “Here I am.” 5 “Do not come any closer,” God said. “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.” 6 Then he said, “I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.” At this, Moses hid his face, because he was afraid to look at God.
Do you believe God, who created the heavens and the earth, can set a bush on fire without it burning up and speak to Moses?

    Exodus 14:21-22 NIV
21 Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the LORD drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land. The waters were divided, 22 and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left.
Do you believe God, who created the heavens and the earth, can make water stand up and dry the sea bed by sending a strong wind?

    Joshua 10:12-15
12 On the day the LORD gave the Amorites over to Israel, Joshua said to the LORD in the presence of Israel: “Sun, stand still over Gibeon, and you, moon, over the Valley of Aijalon.” 13 So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, till the nation avenged itself on its enemies, as it is written in the Book of Jashar.
The sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day. 14 There has never been a day like it before or since, a day when the LORD listened to a human being. Surely the LORD was fighting for Israel! 15 Then Joshua returned with all Israel to the camp at Gilgal.
Do you believe God, who created the heavens and the earth, can make the sun and moon stand still?

    Numbers 22:26-31
26 Then the angel of the LORD moved on ahead and stood in a narrow place where there was no room to turn, either to the right or to the left. 27 When the donkey saw the angel of the LORD, it lay down under Balaam, and he was angry and beat it with his staff. 28 Then the LORD opened the donkey’s mouth, and it said to Balaam, “What have I done to you to make you beat me these three times?” 29 Balaam answered the donkey, “You have made a fool of me! If only I had a sword in my hand, I would kill you right now.” 30 The donkey said to Balaam, “Am I not your own donkey, which you have always ridden, to this day? Have I been in the habit of doing this to you?” “No,” he said. 31 Then the LORD opened Balaam’s eyes, and he saw the angel of the LORD standing in the road with his sword drawn. So he bowed low and fell facedown.
Do you believe God, who created the heavens and the earth, can make a donkey speak?

Psalm 139:2 You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar.
Matthew 12:25 Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand.”
There are approximately 7.7 billion people on this earth. Do you believe God, who created the heavens and the earth, knows the comings and goings and perceives the thoughts of all 7.7 billion people? There are manmade supercomputers which can perform up to nearly a hundred quadrillion FLOPS (floating-point operations per second)! How big is your God?

Mathew 10:29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s knowledge. 30 And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
Mark 4:37 A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. 38 Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?” 39 He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.

Mark 5:35 While Jesus was still speaking, some people came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue leader. “Your daughter is dead,” they said. “Why bother the teacher anymore?”36 Ignoring what they said, Jesus told him, “Don’t be afraid; just believe.”.. 39 He went in and said to them, “Why all this commotion and wailing? The child is not dead but asleep.” 40 But they laughed at him… 41 He took her by the hand and said to her, “Talitha koum!” (which means “Little girl, I say to you, get up!”). 42 Immediately the girl stood up and began to walk around (she was twelve years old). At this they were completely astonished.

Luke 8:43 And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years, but no one could heal her. 44 She came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped. 45 “Who touched me?” Jesus asked. When they all denied it, Peter said, “Master, the people are crowding and pressing against you.” 46 But Jesus said, “Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me.” 47 Then the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and fell at his feet. In the presence of all the people, she told why she had touched him and how she had been instantly healed. 48 Then he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace.”

John 20:24 Now Thomas (also known as Didymus[a]), one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came. 25 So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord!” But he said to them, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.” 26 A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” 27 Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.” 28 Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!”

Acts1:9 After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight. 10 They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. 11 “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.”

Do you believe God knows how many galaxies and stars there are, how many grains of sand there are here on earth, how many drops of water are in the oceans, how many blades of grass there are, how many people there are, how many are born or die at any given moment, how many hairs are on every head, when a single sparrow falls to the ground, that Jesus calmed a storm by just by speaking, that Jesus had the power to heal the sick and resuscitate the dead, that Jesus Christ was resurrected, that the bodily risen Jesus Christ ascended into heaven defying gravity? Do you believe God did and knows all these things? Or do you believe a god created the heavens and earth and then went silent and left them to drift and evolve on their own without further involvement? How big is your God? Do you believe God can’t do all these things because He is constrained, subjected to the universal natural laws of the universe which He created? Do you believe God is restrained by His own creation? If so I believe your god needs to be bigger. The God of the Bible did and still does all these things and more. God knows all these things! Praise God! How big is your God? Bubby Good Friday 4/19/19

Today (4/14/19) the Department of Florida Military Order of the Purple Heart lost an amazing Patriot and advocate for others.
Patriot William E. Everett served his country in a distinguished 21-year Army career. While serving in Vietnam with the 11th Armored Calvary Regiment in 1967, Patriot Everett was wounded when a convoy he was leading was caught in an ambush by the Viet Cong. Despite his own wounds, Patriot Everett provided covering fire that allowed the evacuation of his wounded comrades to safety. For his bravery and wounds in that battle. he was awarded both the Bronze Star for Valor and the Purple Heart. . In all, Patriot Everett served four tours in Vietnam, earning two more Purple Hearts, the Silver Star, two more Bronze Star medals for valor, the Soldier’s Medal, and numerous other awards and decorations
Following his military service, Patriot Everett joined the Donald Trump Corporation, where he worked for 19 years as a Facilities Manager.

Today’s email from Laura Loomer minus all the e-begging stuff:

For the last few months, I’ve been working quietly behind the scenes with every spare minute that I’ve had, preparing to file a historic lawsuit.

And yesterday, my attorney, Ron Coleman, filed the initial complaint in a Florida court.

The main defendants are Twitter and the terrorist front group, CAIR (the Council on American Islamic Relations).

While several other people have sued Twitter for bias, my lawsuit goes much further and establishes collusion between Twitter and CAIR — a group that has been designated as a terrorist group by the UAE.

Several months ago, The Wall Street Journal exposed CAIR’s work to silence me, and Twitter’s willingness to go along with their demands to have me banned from the platform.

My lawsuit will prove the massive influence that the Muslim Lobby has on American companies . . . and Twitter is just the beginning.

This is going to be a big fight and it’s basically me taking on the most influential Muslim group in America AND one of the top three tech giants.

The complaint details how CAIR had to stop me from continuing to expose Representatives Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib – their “favorite daughters.”

My attorney, Ron, dove deep in establishing the history of CAIR and its association with Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood.

This is vital because it shows influence by foreign actors on American political speech.

While Twitter, Democrats, Facebook and nearly everyone else on the left has screamed their lungs out for the past three years over “Russian influence,” my lawsuit will prove that at least Twitter, welcomed “Muslim Influence” with open arms to silence me.

How many other American companies are shunning conservative voices because CAIR requested it?

    Chase Bank?

    Fox News?

My lawsuit will open the Pandora’s box to answer those questions.

Please check out my crowdfunding site, and add your name as a backer of this lawsuit.

Thanks so much for all that you do.

One needs to see the Hand of God on what Laura Loomer ( a Jew) is doing.

Over and over again, God uses people to tell His people what is coming.

Laura, and dozens of others, are trying to show America the insidious, creeping
tentacles of Islamic ideology trying to choke out The Freedom of America.

Before one discounts this as rabid, whining, ‘islamophobia’,
How many Treepers realize there are NO Protestants on the Supreme Court?

Roberts, Alito, Sotomayor, Thomas, Gorsuch, and Kavanaugh are Catholic:
Ginsberg, Breyer, and Kagan are Jewish.

The Catholic church has paid out almost $4 Billion dollars to settle priest pedophile

Their Immigration Division (“Catholic Charities”) has brought into the Catholic church
almost the same amount of cash, $3.7 Billion.

This tradeoff, to keep coffers full, while selling out American Citizens, Their Families,

does not seem to phase this ‘catholic’ church.

Indeed, it’s leader, the pope, is making outright historic steps to embrace moslems

Feb 06, 2019 · The pope called the trip “short but very important,” declaring that it represents “a new page in the history of dialogue between Christianity and Islam and in the commitment to promote peace in the world on the basis of human brotherhood.” “A pope went to the Arabian Peninsula for the first time,” Francis said Wednesday.

Head injuries from flying debris cause many of the deaths that result from tornadoes, so if y’all are going to ‘ride it out’ in an interior closet, toss the helmets in there so they’re there when you have to run to it. Amazon to exit collapsing liberal “sanctuary city” Seattle as drug addiction, homelessness and high business taxes make the Leftist stronghold increasingly uninhabitable

Seeing the clear writing on the wall, corporate monolith Amazon has decided to pack its bags and head for greener pastures, with recently leaked plans to completely flee its longtime hometown of Seattle by the year 2023.

According to reports, the Seattle City Council’s recent attempt to impose a city-wide “head tax,” which would have billed Amazon and other large corporations some $275 per employee, per year, to pay for “affordable housing” – Amazon currently employs more than 45,000 people at its Seattle headquarters, which means it would have had to fork out nearly $12.5 million a year to the City of Seattle – was one of the last straws signaling to Amazon that it’s no longer welcome in the liberal enclave.

Sources say that Amazon won’t be going far, however. The company is already moving some of its employees just across Lake Washington to nearby Bellevue – which is actually where Amazon was originally started, before Jeff Bezos decided not long after the company was formed to head to Seattle, where he believed he’d find the strongest talent pool.
