Last week, Mayor Pete Buttawag attacked VP Pence for his religious beliefs. At the time, some article I read pointed out the mayor had to make himself unique in the crowded Rat pack for president so the mayor began playing the victim card.

Today on Frontpagemag, David Horowitz lights the mayor up for being an unprincipled liar and an anti-religion bigot. Mr. Horowitz doesn’t hold back with his opinion of Butteweig & the rest of the bottom feeders.

Weird. How would playing the “victim card” make him unique among Democrats. You know, the part of experts on playing “victim”. Seems like he’d be just one of the many on that basis. Who knows though, maybe Democrats distinguish one sort of “victim” from others. Frankly I have trouble parsing such socialistic fine points, I guess that makes me one of the common masses, an ignorant deplorable in the eyes of all those worthy “victims”.

If true, it wouldn’t surprise me. The left wants to use the Cloward and Piven strategy to take down our system of government and that means they have to overwhelm the welfare system to the point of collapse. No better way than to bring in or send in so many illegals that the system can’t handle it. This plays very well into that strategy, which is the kind of thing Obama, Hillary, and the DNC embrace.

Easy fix. Take the number of welfare recipients at the beginning of 2017 and whatever that total dollar amount is that was “distributed” to welfare recipients, THAT IS THE CAP.
If more people get added to the welfare list, then the amount of payout to current recipients begins to go down to cover for the new add ins.

Maybe my situation is unique, but I’m paying twice what I paid last year and next year is projected to be worse. Why? The roaring economy granted me double the capital gains of previous years causing all my retirement income to be taxed. And as a new widow, single filer, they really sock it to singles. The weird thing is these are what they call ‘phantom capital gains.’ I don’t get them, but they bump me into a higher tax bracket 😦

dave,No that’s just the thing. It was NOT my choice! I did NOT sell anything! The fund sold assets and offloaded its capital gains on investors. I did not get the money from that transaction, but I had to pay a whopping tax. There is a flaw in this particular aspect of the system. Google ‘phantom capital gains.’

As an accountant, I don’t think you understand. Capital gains have to be realized…either cashed out or re-invested. Either way, you got a gain thus it’s taxable. And being single compared to a joint last-year return is not an apple to apple comparison.

Coast: this year I still got to file with my husband, who live for half the year). Still, ‘our’ taxes were twice what we paid for 2017. For 2018, I am really paying a lot. I will be taking my capital gains in cash from now on. You are right, though, I have never understood how it is that we pay taxes on cap gains, they are reinvested, and then if the market goes down in order to realize the loss, we have to sell the security and buy it back in a month. I really wish I did not have to deal with cap gains at all.

The problem that many of them are wrestling with is twofold: Firstly, less federal taxes were taken out of their wages. Many didn’t get as large of a refund, because they didn’t pay as much in the first place.

Secondly, many communities voted to pass skyrocketing school tax budgets, in excess of 10k, which these taxpayers must now pay in full, instead of sharing their burden with more prudent taxpayers from other states. Pay up! That’s what you get for being a sanctuary city!

    Excerpt:

Last year, The Heritage Foundation studied how the tax cuts would affect Americans in every congressional district across the country. We found that each of the 435 districts got a tax cut and that the average American household paid about $1,400 less in taxes as a result in 2018.

Americans with children also benefit from the tax cuts. A married couple filing jointly with two children saw their tax bills fall by an average of $2,917.

    >Snip<

Over the next 10 years, thanks to a larger economy, the typical American will benefit from over $26,000 more in take-home pay, or $44,697 for a family of four.

Silent Invasion, Clive Hamilton’s ground-breaking book about China’s covert influence on Australian society, has been both applauded as an overdue exposé and criticized as an exaggeration of the problem. But when he finished the book, he received some unwanted validation of its central thesis: three Australian publishers declined to publish it, citing fear of retribution from Beijing or its allies.

Hamilton, a professor of public ethics at Canberra’s Charles Sturt University and former executive director of progressive think-tank The Australia Institute, eventually found a willing publisher, and now is working on a sequel dealing with similar issues in North America. What he’s discovered so far makes him very concerned for Canada. He spoke with the National Post during a visit to Toronto.

“Technology theft and other unfair business practices originating from China are costing the American economy more than $57 billion a year, White House officials believe, and they expect that figure to grow.
“Yet an investigation by NPR and the PBS television show Frontline into why three successive administrations failed to stop cyberhacking from China found an unlikely obstacle for the government — the victims themselves.
“In dozens of interviews with U.S. government and business representatives, officials involved in commerce with China said hacking and theft were an open secret for almost two decades, allowed to quietly continue because U.S. companies had too much money at stake to make waves.”

“In France, two churches are desecrated every day on average. According to PI-News, a German news site. 1,063 attacks on Christian churches or symbols (crucifixes, icons, statues) were registered in France in 2018. This represents a 17% increase compared to the previous year (2017), when 878 attacks were registered, meaning that such attacks are only going from bad to worse.
Hardly anyone writes and speaks about the increasing attacks on Christian symbols. There is an eloquent silence in both France and Germany about the scandal of the desecrations and the origin of the perpetrators. Not a word, not even the slightest hint, that could in anyway lead to the suspicion of migrants. It is not the perpetrators who are in danger of being ostracized but those who dare to associate the desecration of Christian symbols with immigrant imports. They are accused of hatred, hate speech and racism.” — PI News, March 24, 2019

@ChicagoBri says: “At this moment, are there any facts pointing to Islamic involvement in this fire? If not, zip it, for you’re no better than Jussie Smollett.

      Got it.

Speculation is not allowed, and is equivalent to perpetrating fake hate crimes. Basically it’s a thought-crime on par with actual fake hate crimes. Got it.

Sounds to me like a rule the Leftists would have.

        You are missing the point.

ChicagoBri was addressing posters on this board who have been making accusations, not those who are speculating. Two different things.

Many here have already miraculously determined how and why this fire started. They’ve already pointed the finger at Islamists/terrorist/people with foreign names. The fire hasn’t even been put out and (so far) no claims have been made of this being a terror act.

Determining guilt prior to letting the evidence surface (or claims made) is exactly what the left does. I recommend that we try to avoid being just like them.

Perhaps. But I’ll go by the words actually typed rather than your interpretation of them:

@ChicagoBri says: “At this moment, are there any facts pointing to Islamic involvement in this fire? If not, zip it, for you’re no better than Jussie Smollett.

Sorry, but those words are pretty explicitly not targeted to any particular group (such as your “accusations” grouping). There is nothing there to distinguish as you have; you are reading that into those words.

Maybe you know the OP and you know what was meant. But I do not and am going by the words written, and not guessing the meaning.

    AND in other news:

The perp who threw the little boy down 3 floors at the Mall of America told police “he was looking for someone to kill” that day—and since he couldn’t find an adult close enough to throw over, he saw little Landon who WAS close enough, and threw him.
Turns out the perp ALSO was stalking women at the mall trying to get them to give him their information so he could date them and they refused.
I STILL SAY THE PERP IS EITHER A MUSLIM OR A MUSLIM SYMPATHIZER.

Notre Dame burning is apocalyptic. Holy Week.

Anti Catholics and Christian haters around the world are thrilled.

That would include 99.9% of elected congressional demonRATS here in the US; the number is slightly higher in France and the Middle East.
