Senator Lindsey Graham Discusses Border Negotiations, William Barr and Upcoming Senate FISA Inquiry…

Senator Lindsey Graham appears with Maria Bartiromo to discuss border security negotiations, the upcoming full senate confirmation vote for AG William Barr and his Senate Judiciary Committee intent toward investigating FISA abuse.

Adding evidence that Nancy Pelosi is attempting to create another shutdown, republican Senator Richard Shelby stated earlier today talks had stalled over immigrant detention policies and democrat demands that criminal aliens be allowed to leave detention.  No additional talks have been scheduled.

Those around here who were touting a “red wave” were delusional given that about 50 GOP House members either retired or quit.

But the blue wave was a ripple as well. Hapless GOP gained a couple seats in the Senate, while being rid of a couple terrible RINOs in Corker and Flake.

good points. It was a mixed bag, although in the context of the waves that typically happen for the party against the sitting, first term President, this had to be a victory for Trump.

Problems abound though — cheating/vote harvesting schemes were unleashed and are likely being perfected for the rest of the country by the Democrats. The Democrats had a huge funding advantage at the local levels. At the Senate/State level Trump helped and the view of the Democrats as crazy helped, but at the House level, the money really made a difference

The 50 retirements hurt in both of those cases – no experienced people on the ground to head off the voting problems, and more money will be there next time. We have to be ready for 2020, though

You hit the nail on the head. The Republicans will be in big trouble come 2020. The cheating and vote harvesting have just started. The dems will be on it all over the country, instead of just a couple states. That and illegal aliens voting, plus the voter rolls! Usually all end up in the favor of the dems. PDJT better start paying attention and push some reform for elections or it is all over. Not that he doesn’t already have enough to do. He needs help from congress 9good luck there) and from Republicans!

RNC is responsible for filling the pipeline of great vetted trained candidates to replace retiring R’s – FAIL! RNC is responsible for finding the election loopholes like ballot harvesting and legally matching Dem’s use of those loopholes – FAIL! RNC is responsible for helping PDJT enforce voting alignment to help pass healthcare, immigration, etc. – FAIL!

Ronna Romney McDaniel should be fired, and Brad Parscale should select her replacement.

No JoD, they are not nuts. They are used to rolling Republicans and calling the shots no matter whether they win elections or not. A Republican president is supposed to cave under threat of a shutdown…which POTUS did because the Republican Senate was going to side with the Democrats as they ALWAYS do. The Dems know this so know all they have to do is hang tough.

We need a bona fide second party. Until we get one, the Democrats remain in control even when they control neither House, Senate OR presidency as qas proved in 2017 and 2018. EVERYTHING POTUS has accomplished he has accomplishes IN SPITE of the Democrats and the feckless Republicans.

Problem is Nancy is wiling to burn the country down if it gives her a win. The POTUS isn’t so a shutdown is a pointless fight if it is to see who cracks first.

Dems do not care who is hurt by a shutdown. To them its ends justify the means.

Good news is POTUS does not need a shutdown or even to declare an emergency to get his wall funding. Thing is dems want a narrative of an out of control executive to spin for the impeachment angle coming in a few weeks.

What you are witnessing is Dem posturing nothing more. The problem for the POTUS is the uni party senators with an R who are trying to help facilitate the setup for the impeachment narrative.

The whole reason we suddenly are hearing about new demands now is because the deal was in danger of being accepted so they are poison pilling so that way their can be no deal.

Its all theater at this point for the Dems. They know what the POTUS is going to do and POTUS knows what they are going to do.

We need one, but will never have one. Look how easily the Tea Party was hijacked, slandered, libeled, maligned, and otherwise ignored.

No, the only successful path is to hijack a major party nomination process just as DJT did. Then the only effective next step for that president is to ignore the massively corrupt establishment faction of his party and simply VETO anything that doesn’t give him EXACTLY what he wants, using his bully pulpit in VERY short and SIMPLE presidential addresses where he points out that what he wants is what the majority of Americans want and the small part of the 2019 fedgov budget that will cost and that the FIX for all of the people not getting their fedgov checks is to call their “representatives” and demand they give him what he wants.

That is the ONLY path to a fix for an incredibly corrupt system. It cannot be incremental. THIS:

Zippy; Thats NOT enough, as we had eight years of Reagan, in ADDITION to hijacking the Republican party at the top, as POTUS has done, enough of the American people need to wake up to the con of the Uniparty, and we need to infiltrate and then PURGE the Republican party, from the bottom up.

Otherwise even if he serves eight years, PDJT will be another Reagan.

The bottom line is that the 50% who don’t vote are the ones that need to be educated and brought into the process of participating. Sheets of 1/2″ or 3/4″ plywood can be laid over top of raw concertina – no matter how many parallel coils have been laid – and squash down the wire with the weight of people. Seen it done. Plywood is easy to truck out to the hinterlands where no BP exists and each man can carry one 4×8 sheet.

These “bridges over the concertina can be used to pass hundreds of border crashers, then if they want hide it, the plywood can be removed until needed again. They can also use sections of cheap corrugated metal (plenty of that in Mexico) as a “bridge” over the coils.

No, they need 30 ft. high permanent barriers topped off with double or triple rows of attached concertina.

According to Breitbart, it would appear that our Border is being invaded as I type and the caravans continue to enter our country because not one thing has been done to stop the ones that have already arrived in the past several months; thus, many more are coming. It is way, way past time to issue a national emergency, bring our troops home, and stop the invaders. Why are we protecting other countries when we can’t even protect our own. Enough is enough. The time to stop this invasion has already passed us by.

      Lurking Lawyer here.
As commented previously several times several, previous days, declaring a national emergency under the NEA is not a smart chess move for PDJT. It remains on the deal table for show (headfake) only. Three reasons:
      1. NEA lets Congress reverse a POTUS NE declaration by simple majorities on a joint resolution. House would reverse, and PDJT has to risk Romney, Collins, Murkowsky, and probably others in the Senate. No veto. Would be very bad PDJT optics.
      2. Grounds for an NEA declaration are themselves colorably court challengeable on the facts (although never before done). That is why Hillary just declared there is not one. Admissible and colorable to a 9th circuit biased judge who would issue a preliminary injunction.
      3. The closest NE statutory legal power to then build wall is 10USC2808, which very colorably does NOT apply to a southern border wall because that is plausibly not a military issue, rather a domestic national security issue per posse comitatus (18USC1385) and all that entails.

The ‘correct’ PDJT gambit is simply 10USC284, as explained several times previously.
Legally unassailable (not to say Dems might try anyway) . Simple and very effective.

I recall your other posts about 10USC284 and think maybe that’s what Mick Mulvaney was alluding to a week or so ago during an interview. IIRC, Mulvaney said over $9 billion could easily and LEGALLY be used for the see-through fencing.
For this reason I have not responded to numerous emailed questions from the joint Trump-RNC fundraising committee to the effect” “Should the President declare a national emergency?”

From Wikipedia: “Approximately 10,500 police were sent in, and by April 6 [1968], more than 6,700 Illinois National Guard troops had arrived in Chicago with 5,000 soldiers from the 1st Armored and 5th Infantry Divisions being ordered into the city by President Johnson. The General in charge declared that no one was allowed to have gatherings in the riot areas, and he authorized the use of tear gas..”

Allows Corps of Engineers to “construct” fence on border “Construct” not defined. In related statute construct” includes ” aquire”. in another related statute “aquire” includes “eminent domain.”
Since this statute is directed to engineers, “construct” would broadly refer to all phases of the building process including planning, surveying ,aquistion, clearing an grubbing, and the construction phase itself. “Construct” would have the narrow meaning in a mechanics lien statute.
Judge Nap will argue that 10 USC 284 does not specifically mention eminent domain and that power must be separately obtained from Congress.

I would only ask one question – in 2019, what criteria have to be met before the invasion over the southern border becomes a “military issue”? We are no longer fighting standing armies in the world; terrorists wear no uniforms and are independent small groups. Cartels wear no uniforms and operate in small units as well.

We have already been told by our CBP and authorities that they know that both international terrorists and cartel criminals are coming over the border. Considering the firepower used by cartels and the existential threat posed by terrorists, it would seem to warrant military border enforcement as opposed to just CBP.

Why waste any more money on Afghanistan?

IMO, Thousands of ILLEGAL INVADERS forcing their way into our country, killing our people with guns, knives, drugs etc, is definitely a national emergency. Question:
Can President Trump “activate the civilian militia” without action from Congress?

I can think of no better way of escaping this below ZERO temp we seem to be stuck in right now!… Driving 12-1500 miles south has to improve that issue of temp, eh? AND, our 3 buckets of beans and 3 buckets of rice and the 7 buckets of hard wheat flour (from Montana Wheat – no less) should provide some “bridge rations” until our President or Samaritans’ Purse can get some field kitchens down to us… I’m thinking 44,000 in the first wave and another 44,000 (so us old folks can get some relief after 2 weeks on the line) right on their heels!… I figure our platoon can hold tight for those first 2 weeks or so… We’ll bring in our travel trailers then and reload all the brass we’ve kept for them..Check6

BTW: 44,000 should give us Eyes, Ears, and a clear sight picture on every inch of those 2000 miles, with interlocking fires at about 2-300 meters…and, this is 24/7 coverage… hell, we don’t sleep so good anymore, anyway…
Why waste time marching on DC, when the action is at the border, eh?

A rational DNC position: provide $5B funding for wall in exchange for a reasonably choice gain. Turn around and tell supporters that it was a masterful exchange. Trump wanted that wall badly enough that he gave dearly to get it. Declare victory and move on to the next negotiation, because Trump wants to obtain economic milestones and is willing to trade modestly/richly to obtain them.

An irrational DNC position: no wall.

Summary: DNC wants a shutdown for some reason, because they think it is to their strength. Dunno. These are some loopy people playing the game here.

Most critters are from sororities which as we know are snobs that operate in secrecy and practice creepy initiations like digging up skulls and bones, confessing the most horrid sex encounters to prove they are acceptable to the powers that be, and of course blood sacrifices.

The entire battle that is occurring between Congress and the White House is for a Constitutional Budget. The battle is being hidden under the narrative of ‘money for the wall’, but this is a battle for a budget. Ten years without one has allowed Congress to upset the balance of ‘equal’ power between the three branches and we have been held hostage time and time again by a Congress not restrained by budget process.

These continued resolution battles have got to stop and that’s the battle that PDJT is waging. IMO PDJT will close the border, the Border Patrol will work their hearts out and an NE won’t be declared until after a budget is in hand.

See what the fight over the wall boils down to: 200 miles on a 2,000-mile border
President Trump wants $5.7 billion to add about 100 miles, and upgrade 115 more, of fencing between the USA and Mexico. A graphical look at what that would mean for border security.
