Jumpin’ Ju-Ju Beans, A Coup! – Venezuela Opposition Leader Juan Guaido Declares Himself President…

The Precursor – Yesterday there was a meeting at the White House between FL Senator Rick Scott, FL Governor Ron DeSantis, FL Senator Marco Rubio, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and President Donald Trump.  Florida is home to most of the Venezuela political exiles and opposition groups who oppose Venezuela’s dictator Nicolas Maduro.

Today, Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido declared himself interim president while surrounded by thousands of supporters. At a rally that brought hundreds of thousands of Venezuelans into the east of Caracas, Guaido said Maduro had usurped power and promised to create a transitional government that would help the country escape its hyperinflationary economic collapse.

“I swear to assume all the powers of the presidency to secure an end to the usurpation,” 35-year old Guaido, the head of the opposition-run congress, told an exuberant crowd.

Minutes later, U.S. President Donald Trump recognized Guaido as the legitimate interim president.

Within hours of the support for Juan Guaido being announced by President Trump and Secretary Pompeo,…. Canada, Brazil, Paraguay, Columbia, Argentina, Peru, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Chile and Guatemala followed suit and also voiced their support.

(Via Reuters) […] Guaido’s declaration takes Venezuela into uncharted territory, with the possibility of the opposition now running a parallel government recognized abroad as legitimate but without control over state functions.

In a televised broadcast from the presidential palace, Maduro accused the opposition of seeking to stage a coup with the support of the United States, which he said was seeking to govern Venezuela from Washington.

“We’ve had enough interventionism, here we have dignity, damn it! Here is a people willing to defend this land,” said Maduro, flanked by top Socialist Party leaders, although the defense minister and members of the military high command were absent. (read more)

It’s never a good sign for a dictator when the military isn’t standing next to him/her during the coup.

(Follow AP Updates Here)

Keep in mind that China has invested hundreds of billions into Venezuela in an attempt to prop up the Maduro regime.  Russia has also given Venezuela a lot of financial support.

China currently owns 49% of PDVSA (Venezuela oil production) and receives reimbursement for the continued inbound cash flow via oil exports.  However, Treasury Secretary Mnuchin placed restrictions on that process last year; and said any nation that engages in oil sales may run the risk of economic sanctions from the U.S.  Venezuela and China were both impacted financially.  [Cuba and Russia became the fall back position]

If regime change is successful in Venezuela there’s a likelihood all of the prior investments by China, Russia and Cuba could be worthless instantly.  Geopolitically this couldn’t come at a worse time for China given their economic softening…. then again, the timing here is almost guaranteed to be by design.

Keep watching….

5:10 p.m. – Lawmakers in Russia, which has close relations with Venezuela, are sharply critical of U.S. President Donald Trump’s recognition of an opposition politician who has declared himself the country’s legitimate interim president.

“I think that in this developing situation the United States is trying to carry out an operation to organize the next color revolution in Venezuela,” the deputy chairman of the foreign affairs committee of the upper house of parliament, Andrei Klimov, told state news agency RIA-Novosti. “Color revolution” is a Russian term for the popular uprisings that unseated leaders in Georgia, Ukraine and Kyrgyzstan.

“I do not think that we can recognize this — it is, in essence, a coup,” another committee member, Vladimir Dzhabrailov, was quoted as saying by the Interfax agency.

Russia is a major political ally of Venezuela, and Russia’s largest oil company, Rosneft, is heavily invested in the South American nation’s oil fields, which produce less crude each month.  (link)

Totally appropriate.

AOC is the American version of Leo Tolstoy. An ultra rich aristocrat Russian who was one of the founders of the Liberation Theology (communist) version of Christianity, which has so successfully and thoroughly corrupted our religion and our Country. Tolstoy loved to play benefactor to the Russian peasants but was merely masturbating his ego as he suborned them to his so-called generosity.

It was not generosity at all since Tolstoy was a rich man who was sacrificing nothing. But Tolstoy fooled the peasants. He pretended he was poor. Told them there was no afterlife. No God. That this was what Christ truly believed in. Tolstoy was one of the founders of the left.

AOC follows in his footsteps. Except that Tolstoy was actually quite brilliant (and evil). AOC is a useful idiot. But also quite dangerous and evil since most i phone kids her age are also idiots.

Throughout history all of these leaders of the left have fit the same mold. They are the pampered children of rich parents. They endear themselves to the poor and convince the poor to relinquish all of their rights in the interest of a Godless utopia where the State takes the place of God.

Instead of providing utopia, once the people relinquish their arms and all other rights these pampered children of the rich confiscate the wealth of the entire nation, slaughter millions who are suspected of dissent and starve millions more until eventually the nation collapses.

It isn’t at all hard to believe when you know the enemy. Killing people isn’t exactly unusual for them, and with Trump and Pence out of the way, Pelosi would be president, as Donna Brazile noted. With another SCOTUS vacancy probably soon, with possible trials coming up for corruption, with documents that could be released at any time, they are getting desperate but nothing has worked to get rid of Trump so far. Pelosi third in line for president and Trump and Pence staying in the WH during the shut-down…this is the best opportunity to stop him. There have been over a dozen known attempts to assassinate the president so far, and I doubt that the majority are from foreign powers.

Pelosi and many of the others involved have almost certainly been under surveillance for some time for other matters too. They know who she contacted, where she’s gone, what she’s done, why she was going on that Afghanistan trip, and it’s possible that the would-be bomber arrested in Georgia was found through that. It will be interesting to have his evidence added to what they already have. In any case, Brazile apparently knew about it. So did Schiff. Schiff, BTW, is also in danger of going to prison for other reasons.

I hope all the unredacted documents will be coming soon so that it will not make it such an immediate need to get rid of Trump after they are released. And a new SCOTUS judge appointed. They really have reached a critical point where they must act.

Military tribunals are rumored to be happening now and some are very nervous about that. There is a law (Ex parte Milligan) that military tribunals can be expanded during times that civilian courts are not operating. During the shut down, federal courts have also not been open. Perfect time to start more trials by tribunals.

This is a very valid point and is the same one that I felt applied to Ukraine and the guy that Obama overthrew. That being said my biggest issue with Obama’s moves in Ukraine and Syria were not necessarily the clear case of them being geopolitical moves but rather that they were easily foreseeable failures.

In my opinion this could be a make or break moment for President Trump’s foreign policy as a civil war or some other catastrophe in Venezuela would render his foreign policy no different than Obama with Rubio replacing McCain as the meddling Senator. Failure is not a tolerable option.

President Trump has supported Iranians who want to riot against their regime, and now he supports the people of Venezuela. That’s all he should do, IMO. It helps the Iranians and Venezuelans to know they have at least the emotional support from the US. We don’t have to do any more.
We could withdraw our financial support from Honduras, Guatemala, etc, and give it to the new government under Guaido to help restore his country to economic stability instead, if he is indeed looking out for his people.

    • mugzey302 says:

Just like with the well-to-do Cubans who escaped and took over parts of Miami, the Venezuelans who escaped DEMAND that America free their country. Why didn’t they do something about it? Just as we face here, outside forces are at work with lots of $ and equipment/supplies. We know the CIA was messing around in Cuba and seems to be involved EVERYWHERE. Their budget needs to be shut down, their drug trade, gun trade ~ all of it. America can’t really speak to other countries with strength and honesty because dirty bas*ards like Brennan are undermining not only POTUS but also the administration of those countries.

JFK said he wanted to get rid of the CIA and they likely killed him for it. That’s what happens when you have an unlimited budget and secrecy at the same time. They both created and destroyed whole governments regardless of the official policy of the United States. They are STILL trying to destroy our government under President Trump, even with Brennan out of his position. President Trump has been reported to want to dissolve the CIA and put it under Homeland Security instead. Of course, Homeland Security could also go rogue, but their budget is easier to oversee at least.

If true, this could help bolster the embattled regime of Venezuela’s dictatorial president Nicolás Maduro and would significantly change the strategic reality in the Western Hemisphere for the United States.

Russian newspapers Nezavisimaya Gazeta and Kommersant both reported the possible basing deal on Dec. 12, 2018. Russia had sent a pair of Tu-160s to Venezuela on Dec. 10, 2018, and those bombers left the country on Dec. 14, 2018. This was the third visit by these type of aircraft to the Latin American country since 2008 and they conducted a 10-hour long-range patrol in the Caribbean for the first time ever during this trip.”

There are pics of young men jammed into the backs of open cargo trucks or even dump trucks. This is instead of using regular public transportation.

Radical Islam makes inroads among Latin America’s Native peoples

2009, Colombian authorities dismantled a network of narcotraffickers linked to Islamist terrorists. Funds derived from the narcotrafficking are believed to have been diverted to Hezbollah – an Islamist terror organization….

The growth of Hezbollah is due to the strategic alliance reached by enemies of the United States. These are President Ahmadinejad of Iran and President Chavez of Venezuela. The latter has expressed support for the Shiite Muslims in Iran and Syria and allows them free sway in Venezuela – an important source of petroleum to the U.S. The Venezuelan government owns CITGO, a network of gasoline stations and refineries in the U.S.

Islam has shown growth in Latin America, once a monolith of the Catholic faith. For example, the Wayuu Guajira people of Venezuela and Colombians– native Americans who live in the tropical forests – have provided numerous converts to Islam over the last decade and some of them are declared jihadis – warriors for Islam. Efforts to convert native peoples to Islam have been fostered by Iran with investments of money and other resources. Wayuu Guajira Indians are the largest indigenous group in Venezuela and Colombia (about 135,000 in Colombia and 170,000 in Venezuela). On October 23, 2006, the police in the Venezuelan capital found two explosive devices near the American Embassy….

CTH’s support of US meddling in Venezuela on the grounds that Maduro is a “dictator” diminishes the value of an otherwise great blog on Trump’s presidency. It diminishes the value in the sense that it lays bare a blind spot in your view of Trump’s foreign policy. It seems your support for Trump makes you blind to the fact that Trump here follows the same pattern of interventionism like his predecessors because Venezuela has chosen not to be a Washington puppet. You also discount Maduro’s considerable popular support throughout these years of considerable hardships. You can disagree with Maduro’s politics, of course, but why cheer on the predators’ circling of their prey?

This is a portion of a valid point. I’d rather not make an intervention into Venezuela, and so far Trump hasn’t done this. Wall Street has isolated them, and that’s not Trump. It’s investors, and China and Russia and perhaps others are working to counter Wall Street by pumping cash into Venezuela. This is fine too, and basically legitimizes whatever Wall Street is doing, so in effect nobody in the US is making an “intervention” there.

The real problem is, Maduro’s gang appears to be using food as a weapon. Inevitably, countries around the world will turn on Maduro over that, including the US. That’s what we’re seeing. The streets will be full of people as long as this is the case. Maduro has to make some real movement, to call off the dogs.
