#2 – Democrat Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard Announces Her Intent to Run for President in 2020…

Following the announcement last week that Senator Elizabeth Warren will run for the office of President in 2020, U.S. House Representative Tulsi Gabbard announces today she will also be a candidate; a formal announcement will be made next week.

Don’t count out Gabbard. She fits the profile of a more likeable candidate who can unite several Democrat tribes.

In my opinion, unlike Warren, when the dust from an aggressive primary run begins to settle, Gabbard will be in the final four. However, historically speaking, no house representative without any prior executive experience (Governor etc.) has ever been able to win the nomination.  More likely the DNC will use Gabbard as a splitter to select their preferred and pre-selected nominee.

(CNN) Rep. Tulsi Gabbard said Friday she will run for president in 2020. “I have decided to run and will be making a formal announcement within the next week,” the Hawaii Democrat told CNN’s Van Jones during an interview slated to air at 7 p.m. Saturday on CNN’s “The Van Jones Show.”

Gabbard, an Iraq War veteran, currently serves on the House Foreign Affairs Committee. She is the first American Samoan and the first Hindu member of Congress. (read more)

          The pre-selected candidate will be Hillary Clinton. All of these candidates are fighting for fractions of the vote. In a 30 person primary Hillary has the money and a higher vote percentage to nail down the first 2 primaries before anyone else gets any traction. By the 3rd primary the rest of the field will be out of money.

        She’s an American Samoan who moved to Hawaii. She’s a political product of the uber left Hawaii Democrat Party that runs the State. The Dems could run her as a “woman of color” but She’s really light on leadership/management experience. I’d say the chances are slim and none that she even gets to a primary.

          She is not to be underestimated.

          Our best bet is to make her go on the record when it comes to the radical Dems pet causes. Make her alienate either the moderates or the leftists ahead of the primary.

            What combat experience? What was her job in the military?

            No offense to your post….but…

            Many do not realize, when in the military, all you have to do is step one foot on the ground in a combat “Zone” and you get a

            “Combat Action” ribbion. A Combat Action ribbon hence does not signify you were shot at or performed any sort of combat.

            She could have been answering the phone. Even if she was a fighter pilot……..There is no longer any enemy planes remaining…..no anti-aircraft guns…..

            Most all combat performed in Afghanistan and the Mid-East for years has been performed by Combat Arms Units.

            Infantry, Artillery, Tanks, Special Ops.

            Tired of hearing about all of these so called veterans with Combat Experience and all they did was push papers…

              Not to mention that her military and combat experience didn’t appear to make any impression in her brain that the military is a worthy organization designed to protect our rights and freedoms, something the DemoncRAT Party has long been trying to take away.

              I have major doubts about and suspicions of any military veteran who was honorably discharged after a full term of duty who still registers and votes for todays DemoncRAT Party.

      No… don’t take her lightly. For awhile now, she’s the ONLY Dem that I’ve been even slightly worried about. Based on what I know about her (including that she is NOT a rabid anti-Trumper), she’d do pretty well in the primaries…. similar to Bernie, I think. Of course, as Sundance says, the powers-that-be in the Dem Party would most likely try to stop her if it looked like she had a real shot. But basically, if you ask who I’d most WANT Trump to face in the general election in 2020… I definitely would NOT say Gabbard.

    She has practically zero chance of getting the D nomination, ‘too conservative’ for Ds, and, if she does get it, she has zero chance again is too far left for the general election lacking even less experience relative to potus 44. This will get interesting with 20+ Ds exploring……….more resources they & DNC spend on primaries, the better for VSGPDJT and us 🙂

      She may be too conservative for the Democrats, but IF she becomes the nominee don’t count on that “too far left for the general election” – I never believed this country would elect the sanitized Obama – and they did. Low-information voters will like her attractiveness and fall in love with the idea of the “first” female president.

      God help us if the Dem regain power again.

They can’t bow down to the loons fast enough…oh and she’s a vet. However it’s unlikely the DNC would let her have the nomination. So perhaps she’s the 2020 Sanders?

She is way too close to Bashar Al-Asaad, called our POTUS Saudi Arabia’s b___h, doesn’t have much experience even relative to protus 44, didn’t get a platform (DNC nomination speech) like then Sen Obama gave, meaning she is practically unknown even to Ds at large, she is not as/well connected to D.C. as other Ds (up to 22 now exploring), and, on and on and on. I fully agree with you in that we should never underestimate our opponents as 60+M did vote for a relatively inexperienced freshman senator to potus status in 2008. I was merely pointing out the likelihood of VSGPOTUS having rep Gabbard as an opponent for 2020 election is practically zero. I trust God to hep us win, but, we need to do our duty and show up to vote far better than what happened in Nov 2018; we need at least 70M+ voting for VSGPDJT in Nov 2020 as there will be 3-4M more illegal votes than in 2016. Our cold anger needs to translate to more votes; convince all around us to vote straight R in 2020. Have a great weekend.

          Yes, I’m going to be leaning with your belief, if for no other reason the Democrat Party still has some pretty powerful people who will think it’s “their turn” – so the knives will be out for her.
          The most important point is to remember that at least half of the voters in this country are easy to hookwink – again, shocking to those of us who didn’t realize how far Left we had turned.

          I rejoiced in POTUS’ win, but always repeat this cautionary point, which you touch on, it scares me to death to realize how close he actually came to losing. The reason why he won was simply the Dems miscalculated where they needed to have more vote fraud – in the blue states!

I vividly remember Nov 2016 election evening as I watching FNC and the late Charles K. practically said around 6:30 pm to get ready to say Madam President; it was the worst and most sinking feeling. But, I did trust in my data analysis (I was off by only 3 electoral votes) and lo and behold, by 10 pm, to me, I was 100% confident, but, did stay on till 2 am or so till all networks were officially declaring the result. Tom Fitton’s org just got ~1.5 million ‘inactive’ voters in CA alone de-registered now. There may be ~ 10MM such more cases in other states (and more in CA), e.g., in IL, NY/C, etc. I was very disappointed in Nov 2018, I must admit, I was sure of 55 R in senate and +2 in the House. I don’t know why RNC and R’s in AZ didn’t push for recount for the senate race as it was clearly ‘stolen’. We screwed up in primary there too (I am not in AZ, fyi). This is why I believe that if 70MM + vote in Nov of 2020 for VSGPDJT, we should be in good shape. We must overcome 5-6MM cheat votes nationally and regaining MI, WI, OH and PA will still be a fight. The Ds will not under-campaign here in 2020. BTW, John James should have won in MI, not enough Rs came out and there was no doubt cheating in Detroit area as John J should have cleared the AA votes there but he didn’t. Same with the governor race there. RNC was absent here too. Our only hope is we come out and vote like never before, no laziness, no complacency and exceed 70MM for POTUS 45 in Nov 2020, period.

        Yes, she called out the DNC for showing favoritism before the emails proving she was right were released. She was forced out.

        She later endorsed Bernie and was a huge Bernie supporter.

        We need to make her go on the record as a socialist. That way she can alienate the moderates. Or we need to force her to go on the record as a moderate so she will alienate the leftists. Eliminating her in the primaries is what is best for PDJT.

    It is all about raising $$$ to fund their personal pursuits, causes and interests.

    Just like with radio hosts, tv commentators and some website operators, candidates who run for president…win or lose…serious or not….build a donor list of like-minded idiots, I mean citizens, who get riled up over something or other and send $$$ via internet or snail mail. It is all list development, branding and marketing.

    Doesn’t mean these folks don’t want to win and I am not saying they don’t WANT to win or think they wouldn’t be an awesome president in their own minds, but they frankly, don’t care…..they will raise more money than they get otherwise from their congressional/senate campaigns to spend promoting themselves. They have NOTHING to lose by running and there are plenty of fools waiting to be parted with their money.

      Gabbard will be 38 in April, and 39 in Nov 2020. That’s only 4 years younger than JFK.

      She won’t have many problems attracting younger Marxists to vote for her in the primaries but anyone older than mid-50’s is likely going to be looking elsewhere.

I honestly can’t remember a Democrat who had this background in recent years. There was, and continues to be, animosity against Donald Trump because he is also divorced and re-married. Naturally, it’s just self-righteous rhetoric, and hypocritical to the extreme, whether coming from Dems or Repubs — but there is usually plenty of dirt to dig up for opposition research when this past is explored.

          Another crucial thing. Tulsi Gabbard simply hasn’t been married long enough to her current husband. They only got married in 2015. One thing I noticed, you don’t see candidates seriously running for president unless their marriages have already been tried in the fire and gotten stronger. That takes time.

          You will notice how long the divorced John McCain was married to Cindy before he ran (like forever). Barack Obama was married for years, as was John F. Kennedy. Donald Trump had been married to Melania for at least ten years when he announced for president. There is no doubt in my mind that Melania was going to be supportive and yes, they have a strong marriage by now.

          It’s just a thought about the kind of strain a campaign can put on a marriage.

        She votes with Nancy Pelosi on every issue where the vote is along Party lines. She is playing both ends against the middle, sort of like Bill Clinton did. But when she thinks she has the political capital to spend, she is solid in the leftist camp. Right now, she is seeing which side of the fence she can get the most support from within her own Party. But the most dangerous part of her political personality is that she comes across as being very likeable as a person, jusrt like “Slick Willie” did. But don’t forget that she is first and foremost a Democrat and believes in their idea of democracy: Two wolves and a sheep discussing what is for dinner. That is my take without having benefit of seeing anything but her political personality.

      Unless, of course, the Clinton Mafia are serving out terms for corruption and treason. If Trump can’t destroy those who created spygate, he’ll be a failure on his drain the swamp promise, may not get reelected, and prospects for the survival of the Republic will have reached an all-time low.

      If there is major accountability, it will shake the Democratic establishment to the core, and the Democratic masses will then be primed to accept someone who was not corrupted by it, like Jimmy Carter won after the Nixon-Watergate scandal and Ford pardon of Nixon.

    This woman is very interesting…she isnt a liberal hack, and is intellectually honest. She owes nothing to anyone, is the antithesis of the paid politician. I disagree with her on most policy stuff but admire her open stance and transparency. This woman has more integrity in her pinky than the entire Democratic machine.       She’s late 30’s and early 40’s and a veteran of Afghanistan and Iraq. She often makes statements that include common sense. She spoke out against the corruption in the DNC during the primaries and was fired for it. She’s the type of candidate that could really woo independents.

      Let’s hope she’s either forced to take on radical positions and alienated independents, or she runs as a centrist and alienates the leftists. Creating rifts in the Dem party is a must

I agree, she is more in the mold of ‘classic’ democrat politician who will give an impression of being a bipartisan, however, that is exactly why the DNC will destroy her candidacy. Having anyone who is mildly agreeable to policies of VSGPDJT will not win D nomination owing to their visceral hatred and chronic TDS. I agree that in General election, if she were to get D nomination, then she will appeal to man in the center, and, Ds will religiously vote of her. However, we should campaign for her to run as 3rd party; hey, if they are going to execute strategy on the other side with Willard, we can play the same with Tulsi 🙂

    I wonder how her past platforms as a state representative will play with the DNC. For example, Wikipedia says this about her:

    “As a state representative, Gabbard opposed LGBT rights, including same-sex marriage and civil unions.”

    I don’t know anyone who considers being a woman a reason to vote for/not vote for a candidate. It’s just not an argument; what the candidate stands for and has accomplished is the criteria by which people choose for whom to vote. The Dims’ thinking a female candidate will give them an edge might be mistaken.

    Make her go on the record about Syria.

    Make her go on the record about carbon taxes and energy independence.

    She can either sound like a moderate like she’s been doing just in time to alienate the radical base for the primaries, or she can try to appease the radicals and alienate the independents with common sense.

    Of course we can’t trust the media to do their job and ask hard questions. We need to do what we did in 2016 and shame them into it. Time and time again we kept asking the hard questions on Twitter and other social media, and forced the media to discuss the issues they tried to ignore. We must get ready to do this again.

      How well I remember when military veteran Jim Webb was up on the debate stage during the Democrat primaries in 2015/16. He definitely sounded like the most reasonable Democrat up there and actually made sense. He went nowhere.

    • “They” have worked pretty hard at stacking up ineligible puppets to run in order to create a false “conclusion” by the “average” American that all it takes is ONE parent being a US citizen to be born anywhere on the planet and you yourself be a “Natural Born Citizen” of our nation.

      Sadly it’s working on the vast majority of even those who profess to be “conservatives”. One would think being “conservative” would mean one leans far more toward the constitutional truth about things, and the issue of what that phrase means is more than easily found among the myriad writings of the Founders.

      Two US citizen parents are a must. Loyalty only to one nation. Remember, lyin ted was also a dual citizen and had to renounce to help squelch the deluge of true American cries of ineligibility!

        True; but, as I think you probably know, Cruz’s renouncement of his Canadian citizenship was only a ruse for that purpose. It did nothing to erase the fact that he was born on foreign soil. As you pointed out, one must have two US citizen parents in order to be a natural born citizen. One must also be born on US soil.

        Being a natural born citizen requires that three things occur at the moment of birth: One must have a US citizen father, a US citizen mother, and a birth on US soil. Cruz is missing two of the three. Therefore, his claim of being a natural born citizen is false.

          Since the US Supreme Court has not specifically dealt with the NBC issue regarding presidential candidates, no one has the gospel truth on the issue no matter how much they assert they are correct. I can only relate my personal experience in this matter. It’s my understanding that technically according to the application of the 14th Amendment, you must be born in a US State (“All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside.”). I offer this technicality because both of my children were born 40+ years ago at Walter Reed Army Hospital in DC (the District of Columbia is US soil but not a State) and we were politely advised by the hospital staff at that time that my children could only become President with an order from a Federal Judge attesting that they are natural born citizens. I’m not sure if a “DC” exemption exists now, but that was the situation long, long ago in a place far, far away!

      On that same note, former U.S. Senator and deceased John S. McCain III, was born overseas to two U.S. citizen parents. Although he was a U.S. citizen, he was not a natural born (U.S.) Citizen.       Rule of thumb: If a law exists to declare that someone is a U.S. citizen, they are not a natural born Citizen, but a statutory U.S. citizen who has the right to all U.S. public offices except the presidency. No law exists that declares anyone a natural born (U.S.) Citizen; they are a U.S. citizen by the law of nature – born to two U.S. citizens on U.S. soil.

      The below reference alludes to your statement that Gabbard is, in my own words. a plain-vanilla (U.S.) citizen because she was not born on U.S. soil. She is Constitutionally limited to Article I jobs only.

      I don’t think anyone’s saying they would vote for her. I think what many ARE saying is that she should not be taken for granted, and that she very well could be Trump’s toughest opponent. The closest I’ve heard anyone say they’d vote for her is something like, “I like her, and is about the least crazy Dem out there.” So no… we’re talking about what it would be like if she was Trump’s opponent in the general. Do you seriously think ANY Trump supporter would choose Gabbard over him?

    She is positioning herself for the future (raising money and raising recognition). She can see that the Dems will crash and burn in ’20. As long as she does not go too far left, she will remain as a viable “moderate” candidate and a “voice of reason” (she IS lucid about certain topics) while having the plusses of being a woman and of color. Just maybe “after the deluge” of 2020 the Dem establishment will figure out they need her to appeal to both the gender voters and the Independents in ’24 – or at least she hopes. Worst case she becomes much more visible/powerful in the Congress – or at least she hopes.

      Sounds logical. She could be building a platform and name recognition to be more formidable in 2024 as VSGPDJT will win in 2020. So, she can convince DNC in ’24. However, this assumes that DNC will see logic before 2024, they have been consistently going more rabid than being logical though.

          Perhaps a counter to Ambassador Haley, yes, however, 2024 could be very different for Rs too, what about SOS Pompeo, he’d get my vote over Nikki. So, who knows. And, if DNC continues its spiral towards socialism, pers rep Gabbard will switch to bein a R, her father is a state senator (or used to be) in HI, as a R and then switched to D to get more power in that state. We just need to vote like never before in 2020 for VSGPDJT, at least 70MM votes for him. That is the only way imho.

    Hawaii has 4 electoral college votes, all of which are sure thing for the Dems. Dems are not going to put someone on their ticket who brings zero additional electors.     I’m waiting for AOC to announce her run for President. Tulsi will win the swimsuit contest hands down. She strikes me as a more substantive and authentic candidate than the rest. She is an Iraq vet and has a Rand Paul like attitude to foreign entanglements. She was prepared to put Hirono in herb place over her anti-Catholic attitudes. I don’t think she is a total party hack like unscrupulous Kamala Harris who was prepared to destroy Kavanagh while knowing one of her principal staff members had mistreated women.

    From the few interviews I’ve seen with Tulsi, I think she’s eloquent and reasonably bright…and I honor her service. I’m afraid that, as a combat veteran, she could easily develop PTSD.

    That, and trips to Indonesia, Syria, et al., and choosing to be Hindu…doesn’t smell right to me.
