Report: President Trump Likely To Nominate Heather Nauert as U.N. Ambassador…

Bloomberg news is asserting that President Donald Trump will soon announce his selection for U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. is Heather Nauert.

(Via Bloomberg) President Donald Trump has decided to nominate State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert to replace departing United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley, according to three people familiar with the decision.

Nauert, 48, is an unorthodox choice for the UN role given that she had little experience in government or foreign policy before joining the administration in April 2017 after several years as an anchor and correspondent for Fox News, including on the “Fox and Friends” show watched by Trump. Haley also didn’t have foreign policy experience when she took the UN posting, but she had twice been elected governor of South Carolina.

Nevertheless, Nauert has gained Secretary of State Michael Pompeo’s trust after being excluded from the inner circle of his predecessor, Rex Tillerson. She is also closely aligned with Trump’s daughter, Ivanka Trump, and her husband Jared Kushner.

One senior administration official, who discussed the move on condition of anonymity, said that Nauert would make a great UN ambassador because she is a great communicator. (read more)

Nauert actually has a title, Undersecretary of communication something-or-other, and has traveled everywhere with SOS Pompeo, including NoKo, and sat in on meetings.
Congrats to Nauert, if true. Nauert has worked hard and deserves this.

Trump clearly indicated in a press conference that his choice for the next UN ambassador would not be made on the basis of the best person for the job. She is affirmative action.

UN Embassador is a spokesperson. Does not make policy or decisions. Implements for Sec State and the President. Heather is great at that. Plus all the male macho dudes at the UN (if there are any) will melt like butter when dealing with her.

OMG. Trump’s biggest failures have involved selecting the wrong people for his cabinet. The trend continues. Sad. This woman is a neo-con through and through. She’s likely to continue the intimidating threats to the rest of the world for not voting with the US (Israel). A real diplomat.

  10. icestation3 says:

The last UN ambassador he choose was a neo-Marxist (a progressive). This one was chosen on the basis that she’s a woman.

And has absolutely anyone seen evidence that the U.S. military on the border has set-up even one single tent? Apparently the massive tent cities we were expected to deal with the migrant crisis never happened. Trump is a complete washout. 4 years wasted with Texas and the nation now guaranteed to fall permanently into the hands of communists within the next 15 years.

  11. arkancided says:

Great. Another neo-con in the administration. Should get along just fine with Bolton. Does she foam in the mouth like Haley? From what I’ve witnessed, she’s hardly diplomatic and has no relevant experience. God, I hope Trump doesn’t screw up the DOJ pick.

  12. chooseamerica says:

Serious question. Can someone tell me why we are still in the UN? Why wouldn’t we be better off if we pulled out and told their personnel and ideology to leave our country.

Heather is doing a great job right where she is. Seems like a waste to put her talent into a venue that does not have our best interests at heart.

Look at what PDJT has achieved in the UN so far, and with Haley as our Ambassador.

PDJT doesn’t take any crap from the Leftwing commies in that snake infested organization but IMO he is trying to not just blow it up without working with it for awhile.

Also IMO, POTUS has enough irons in the fire that have more immediate and significant impact on Americans’ lives than the worn out and semi-useless UN.

True – the UN position takes a terrible toll on its occupant. Sitting in a sea of pure political evil is a horrible way to spend a year or two.

    • JimmyJack says:

I believe the UN should be defunded and kicked out of the country. It is fast becoming a Muslim dominant body of corrupt bureaucrats. It is aggressively anti American in all its policies.

It is truly a bastion of corruption, failed policies and inefficiency. Enough. Furthermore, it is essentially a spy outpost. While we stand to gain from what our spies can get off these “diplomats” and their guests, we are now approaching a point where we have more to lose. Furthermore spy craft has evolved beyond what this has provided due to technology.

To your point, I think choosing Nauert for a downgraded ambassadorship is the first step to dismantling US support for the UN. If trump is reelected I suspect he will defund the UN – or maybe we’ll get lucky and he’ll do it to gain support for 2020 (but I’m not convinced this will help him as most Americans are clueless about what goes on at the UN – they see the zenith of diplomacy and peace activism instead of fraud)

  13. GB Bari says:

    Great choice IMO.
Heather is smart, assertive, energetic, and a quick study.

IMO, she will quickly learn the finer points of this new job and slide right into the seat vacated by Nikki Haley without incident.

PDJT has seemingly taken Pompeo’s recommendation for this. Since our current Secy of State hasn’t yet failed POTUS, we have good reason to be optimistic.

Heather Nauert is a smart, well spoken woman who has been fantastic at dealing with the ‘journalist’ jackals in the State pressers. She has no problem putting them in their place firmly but politely when necessary. No one walks on her.

Haley did a surprisingly good job at the UN, and I expect Nuaert will perform the same or better.

My 2 cents. Heather manhandles the presstitutes in precisely the way many here, including me, applaud. If you haven’t seen her do it, search YouTube. To me, that makes her MAGA-savvy. I think she’ll be a force to be reckoned with as our UN Ambassador. The fact that she’s physically attractive is a bonus, but hardly her only asset.

But at the time he won those blue firewall states, he only gave them promises of what he would do for them if elected. He has far exceeded any promises he made by bringing back industry and manufacturing and we hear of commitments of foreign countries to keep developing new plants in those regions.

The blue-collar Reagan Democrats in those states will not forget what he has done and his task will be much easier than it was in 2016. And don’t forget, while the Democrats gnashed their teeth and rent their garments over the Flint, MI water crisis while only using it, inexplicably, to blame Republicans for it despite the fact Democrats were responsible, Trump immediately upon taking office had the EPA grant hundreds of $millions to actually address and resolve the problem.

Nikki Haley was such a pleasant surprise for me. I should have paid more attention to her while she was Governor of South Carolina. But I certainly paid attention to her unbridaled confrontation of Iran, Syria, North Korea, Russia etc. as Ambassador to the UN. She was a tiger. I wish Haley God speed in her next endeavour especially since she recognizes that there is a time to move on.. Her decision can only be good for all of us.

      • JimmyJack says:

I agree. Haley is another virtue signaling aggrieved group member. She was pushed ahead bc of her ethnicity and sex.

More importantly Nikki Haley has got to be involved int he uranium trafficking that took place in SC from Savannah River Site and TN’s Oak Ridge nuclear facilities right out the ports in Lindsey Graham’s Charleston. SC is small. There is NO WAY she was unaware of this. She was put in place and pushed ahead to maintain those trafficking ratlines for the deep state neo cons in the uniparty.

    • blondegator says:

Nikki Haley strikes me as the ultimate politician, with the end game goal of becoming the first female POTUS. She has chosen her battles carefully, and has used her time at the UN, just as Hillary Clinton did as Sec. State, to burnish her resume. She’s left her position as UN Ambassador, now, to begin the process of amassing the donor and influential connections she’ll need in 2024. While I believe she’s done a good job at the UN, I’m still not a fan. Too much e-GOP for my taste.

Nauert, OTOH, coming into this position as after almost two solid years at State, and particularly now, after having been mentored by Mike Pompeo, should be an excellent addition to the US foreign policy team. He’s included her in his inner circle, and with her brains, I’m sure she’s at least as familiar with the administration’s issues/positions as Haley was coming into the job, if not moreso. With her background, I don’t see her having any agenda of her own, rather, she will be there for one reason only, to further the agenda of the Trump/Pompeo foreign policy. IMO, she’s a good pick, and I look forward to her shining in her new role.

Nauert’s task is to represent our country at the U.N., promote the administration’s agenda as coordinated with Pompeo and the POTUS. Her job isn’t to make policy but to communicate it. And communications is Nauert’s strong suit. Good pick.

There are advantages to that. She does not have to “unlearn” any “bad habits” that people with “government or foreign policy experience” have picked up from modern so-called “institutions of higher learning”, the Council on Foreign Relations, etc.

She can be a “clean slate” to represent the U.S.A. and PDJT’s MAGA agenda in a hornet’s nest

Matthew 10:16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

Colossians 4:5 Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.

The UN does not have any respect for our national interests. They want to dictate our policies and laws to us. We need to get the U.S. out of the UN and get the UN out of the U.S. What seemed to be a good idea after World War II has turned out to be a very bad decision. Much like the U.S refusing to join the League of Nations put forward by the early Progressive Woodrow Wilson. Common sense. Get ’em out of here.

I totally agree with your comment. They are a useless bureaucratic bunch of scheming parasites. They live large and never accomplish anything except molesting vulnerable children in war-torn areas. They should be called the United Nothings. The burden of any actual decisions they rarely make always falls squarely and predominantly on America. We can do this without them when need be and without paying exorbitant amounts to fund this entirely corrupt organization. We should build our own alliances, with those who are our allies and share our interests and send these creeps packing.

Let them find another place to spread their rot (Africa or maybe somewhere in eastern Asia) and let them find someone else to fund their lavish lifestyles.

It is my dream of dreams to see Trump do just that and then buy the land the UN sits on and build a giant Trump skyscraper called Trump Liberty Tower.

  29. Comrade Mope says:

I view Heather Nauert as a competent, capable person. She is impressive in her command of her press conferences. This posting will give her the foreign policy bona fides her resume requires.

That being said, let’s not forget the U.N. is a den of thieves that should be abolished. Paris Hilton could represent the US for all I care. If you are looking for an inspired choice I nominate Bernie Madoff. President Trump could spring him with the caveat that his mandate is to get every other country to pay for a couple decades, or it’s back to the cross-bar hotel for Bernie.

she is/was part of MSM Royalty, part of Mockingbird. Just check her resume, she was being groomed. See background, colleges, networks, mentors. Once you’re in/YOU”RE IN. Same as S.E. Cupp ? they wanted Cupp to go left, she did, they want Nauert to go right, she did and now is IN. I’d watch and see how it goes, the way Deep State grooms and punches tickets happens over decades and then they put YOU IN THE SPOT to control at the time they need you.

Just saying that is how DC and all the different groups work, and when one is in, another group may be out so they bring a DH in that was on sidelines and groomed in secret. Just a FYI and JMO.

    • El Torito says:

Doesn’t matter. Her job is to speak for POTUS. That’s why I find it laughable that so many are reading so much into this – its an Ambassador job. You don’t need to think for yourself, beyond representing POTUS. Not to denigrate Heather -she’ll be perfect because she does that competently in her current role. I also believe an ambassador job in no way qualifies Haley for a presidential run. She won’t even win SC. Or the South. Or NY. I really have become comfortable with voting for the outsider.

I didn’t see anyone comment on the concerning issue of who are the three insiders who leaked this information to the media. I have no problem with Heather if she is the actual nominee, but who are these people speaking on condition of anonymity and why aren’t they sanctioned for doing so. I imagine there is the possibility this leak is orchestrated by Trump himself as a trial balloon, but I am so sick of so-called insiders communicating with the media and hiding under the cover of darkness.

I remember a few years back on Fox, on whatever program it was, Nauert would stride forward from the back someplace, and clearly explain in a few words, the concept the two fools on stools were struggling with.

If she has trouble getting confirmed, it will be because she speaks too clearly for Senate and MSM. Truth and clarity make their lives difficult.

Nauert understands fools even if they don’t.

Hopefully she will help Pompeo get rid of Bolton.

This UN Ambassador job is all public relations. It is not a policy-making position, despite that peacock Haley’s delusions. The job is all about publicly presenting administration policy, not making it. Your words have to purse nicely. You need a good face and posture. That’s it. That’s all that’s required of this position, and Trump well knows this, which is why he’s chosen this Nauert gal to present his policy, to replace his previous choice who also provided these qualities.
