        This caravan made a mistake

First I believe they thought California would be easiest to “Invade” due to the states policies on illegal immigration. OK.

        – But the wall is virtually complete in California. They do have to add wire

        – The passage to get in on the California border is very narrow
        – The invaders assumed they could rest in Tijuana then just flow across the border
        – Tijuana gets a most all of its’ revenue by tourism “from America”
        – The Tijuana citizens are whopping mad. If the invaders stay much longer, it will ruin the city.

The invaders are now stuck………..and no one on either side likes it…

        I believe it’s Mexico’s move

Gunny, agreed. I also think the invaders underestimated the hostility of the Mexican people towards them. Probably thought the only resistance they would receive was from United States border patrol. Big miscalculation.

Don’t forget we have a new Mexican presidente being inaugurated in eleven days who may not look very kindly on this invasion. My guess is HE builds a wall on Mexico’s southern border and Mexico pays for it! For an added treat, the US sells Mexico the pre-fab wall panels.

She was incensed last week because the Mexicans reached out to the Central Americans while they were passing through Mexico and gave them food and clothing. Instead, she said, they trashed the villages and threw away the food and clothing along the roads. As she explained, the villages were poor and she will never forgive the disrespect. She must have learned this from word of mouth.

        • Wait till the marines start stacking conex containers up across all 28 lanes of the border crossing!

We won’t let the caravan bum-rush OUR border.

Mile after mile after mile of rotting produce and auto exports waiting to cross.

POTUS announces he’ll reopen the crossing when the Central Americans have gone home, the Wall’s built and the Border’s Secured … meaning our Border Patrol can’t find any illegals to apprehend.

[Nice trigger for the Mexico-USCOC race to FULLY FUND the Wall.]

“Dems must approve Border Security & Wall NOW!”
That’s silly. Why would they? The only way the president is going to extract anything from Congress (regardless of who controls the House) is to shut down the government until they cry “uncle”. That’s been the case since the president was inaugurated, and it’s still true now. He’s been putting the screws to China because it’s the only way to get fair treatment by the Chinese. He needs to put the screws to Congress. In many ways, they’re worse enemies than are the Chinese. Shut ‘er down until we get what we need: Wall funding & enabling legislation, the RAISE Act, Kate’s Law.

I think the President used the caravan for his advantage.

He is an expert on taking advantage of the “Down Side”

Where as: He sent the military to the border to fill the gaps that were caused by the lack of border patrol personnel.

The border patrol advised the military where the weak spots were so they could build barriers, put up wire etc. to funnel the invaders to the areas where the Border Patrol and CBP could more easily capture them.

As an aside. the military on the border “is actually armed” Gen. Mattis stated this in his interview.

They have “armed” Military Police” protecting our Active duty military on the border. They act and are authorized to protect our military or citizens just as our normal police officers do.

So to answer your question, the Border Patrol, along with the Military’s assistantsnce, are not overwhelned and can now “detain” versus catch and release.

Apologies for posting in the presidential thread, I’m just trying to provide some insight into the posts above. I learn so much from you guys in these tangential threads, very thankful to our fellow treepers for that.

Her age, it’s normal. The US doesn’t have a strong open wheel racing farm system so it sounds incredulous to us. In the international community there’s a very strong farm system for open wheel racing that can ultimately get a driver into Formula 1. Formula 1 requires an FIA Super License to race in F1. And young talented drivers are signed by the major teams and/or manufacturers, progressing up through the various series with their support. In F1, Max Verstappen won his first F1 race at the age of 18.

In the US, the NASCAR K&N (East and West) series has a minimum age requirement of 15 and is a decent analog to the F3 series. The better drivers would rise up to the truck series, XFinity, and the senior series Monster Energy Cup Series.

As for her accident, I hope she can return to a normal life, hopefully continue her racing career also.

Her accident reminds me of some of these (all with non-serious injuries only):
        Fernando Alonso: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sIFqE3AWZfY
        Scott Dixon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fAsV19ryV50
        Mark Webber: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iVdMJ4AryG4

Each of those crashes had large runoff areas for high speed turns. Hopefully the track configuration in this accident can be altered for better safety. Racing is inherently dangerous, even for spectators, but we should always keep safety as the top priority.

The SJW’s immediately coopted the organization and turned it into the opposite of its original purpose, forcing out founders who were aligned with people like Dave Rubin and Carl Benjamin (Sargon of Akkad)

This is the kind of ruthlessness you’re looking at.

jrapdx, I believe it’s new thing called reading the thistle leaves, like reading tea leaves.

First they chew up a lot of thistles and regurgitate them into a big bowl. Then they bray over them to gather their thoughts. Then they flex their hooves, plop them on the keyboard, and prognosticate nothing but doom while subtly bashing our President and gaslighting that he is somehow weak, stupid, being “played,” or worse, “rolling over” for the opposition (I particularly hate that phrase and trace it right back to some posters I recognize from another web site).

Then rinse and repeat, maybe even under new names.

People with honest motives who want to criticize the President on facts (instead of claiming to mind-read him) can be artfully pushed to the side by this. Supporters can get discouraged (though not so much here at CTH, where skin is pretty thick and awareness is high).

Some of what I see is so subtle it makes me Suspicious Cat about dark sources. I am thankful daily for the majority of treepers who counter, expose, and most delightfully ridicule the increasing gaslighting.

I believe there are quite a few who would like nothing so well as to destroy this fabulous web site.

          • Let’s look at the “facts”, then, shall we?

POTUS has absolute power over our borders and trade policy.

He could easily isolate donor class imports/exports, target them, and freeze them out until they bend the knee and twist arms to his agendas on immigration, border enforcement, and citizenship.

He has full control over the military and the capacity to unilaterally declare national emergency allowing him to deploy the corps of engineers and their 700 billion DoD budget to build the wall.

You know.. what he ran on.

He has put out plenty of tweets and issued mostly symbolic directives, but he has yet to even take off the white gloves and I question at this point whether he will.

            These are the facts.

Based on these facts, what conclusion is there to draw besides him being a “release valve” that’s “better than those crazy democrats”.. until suddenly a pre-programmed wave of “sanity” suddenly overtakes them in which Democrats no longer sick Antifa on you but now chinese style un-personing based on “social credit score” remains as “normalized”.

He’s the rest-point of the globalist ratchet.

The Presidential “mind-readers” irritate but don’t fool or discourage me. I’m a skeptic by nature augmented by many years studying in the trenches of science where the eternal question is “How do you know that? Show me the data and then we’ll talk”.

Of course no one CAN show how they know what the President thinks, it’s an absurd notion that when challenged the writer will not respond to, or spews angry shotgun blasts of additional unsupportable assertions.

So it doesn’t phase me, just adds to the political goofiness that inflames online discourse. Nobody should take that stuff seriously or believe it to be actual information.

BTW we could sure use a few of them thistle readers around the neighborhood. Thistles are beautiful flowers but nasty plants. Getting rid of them is hazardous. And as a bonus the readers will have a bunch of new raw material to work with! 😉

Pointless to say a person from the 60’s would not be allowed in the Democratic Party today. Kennedy’s world view was formed in a different era. The better question to ask is: could a Boston Brahmin be elected today. Well look no further than Sen. Warren.

“All great politicians are storytellers, and more than any other on the American scene today, Warren has a capacity to connect the lived frustrations of ordinary working people to a compelling story about what’s wrong with the country’s political economy. It’s a brand of leftism that attracts rather than repels ordinary voters, as well as pumping up the party base. And it is why the sceptics are wrong about Warren – this is precisely the message and passion that could make her the next American president.”

I live here. I assure you that Warren is detested by a great many people on the ground in blue MA. I think our normal-people minority is larger than many of us realize – not quite enough yet to fight the rampant TDS here, but getting closer.

As for the country as a whole – CTH has helped teach me that the rest of the USA is firmly normal-people majority. We just have to continue the process of redpilling the millions who are treading the water of surviving their life’s work daily. They are too busy to learn all they need to know about our government’s existential corruption. But that will not always be the case.

As for Republican programs that benefit the country the rising economy, increase in new manufacturing sector jobs, consumer confidence, record low un-employment are obvious. I do not perceive that Republicans have been wasting time on issues that translate into tangible improvements for society. Rather, democrats are focused on issues that will translate / yield more democrat power at the detriment to society. Republicans are losing to electoral fraud. Republicans grow the economy, democrats harvest votes.

I’ll give credit where credit is due. Senator/Majority Leader McConnell kept the Republicans in the Senate together for two Supreme Court justices and zillions of lower court appointments. My guess is that´s way harder than it seems. As far as the House – Gridlock? I won´t complain. We don´t need MORE laws.

FTA – The Weekly Standard published a gusher last week on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.). Fred Barnes, the magazine’s executive editor, fell all over himself praising McConnell’s “pragmatism and political skill . . . [which] allows little to get in the way of winning.”

Barnes went on to brag about the majority leader’s cool demeanor, his close advisors who are “team players,” and his willingness to dismiss “conservatives who insist on pushing right-wing issues with no chance of passage.”

    These claims deserve examination.

The owner has a dual objective which complicates things for him. He’s trying to out-wrestle the assailant and keep all of his china from crashing to the floor. The assailant couldn’t care less about the china. He’s fully focused on defeating the owner.

What has to happen to even out the match? The china, the 401ks and home values have to crash to the floor in order to make the battle equally elemental. We have to fight like there are things more important to you than our acquired stuff. Conservatives aren’t there yet.

We need to fight as harshly as the left does, go as low as the left does, and approach it as the existential war that it is. Only Trump really does this – and only Trump is able to win with some consistency. His party, our party, is a bunch of pious losers except for Trump. None of them win. Most of them don’t even fight.

The existentiality will not be embraced by the Right until they lose a lot more. Delivering Trump prosperity FIRST before tackling the moral illness so prevalent in our system plumped up the 401k plans and postponed the existential conflict. Did it also flash the inherent priorities of the Right? If it did, then our side has a unexamined moral dilemma too. (To your point that “we’re better”)

This should have been obvious in a country that could elect Barack Obama and then, like the Titanic having backed up to hit the iceberg again, re-elect him. If it wasn’t, it should be obvious now that the Democrats have seized the House in a Watergate-level rout….Today’s brainwashing, not just by academia but also media and entertainment, is intense. Moreover, we can’t MAGA unless we MAMA — Make America Moral Again. As Ben Franklin put it, “Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters.”

So today and most likely up until Nov 2020 Americans are experiencing the following:

      1. Lowest unemployment, around 3.8% in decades
      2. Lowest unemployment for minorities in 50 years
      3. Lowest unemployment for women in 25 years I think
      4. Annual GDP of at least 3.5% vs 1.9% avg. under O
      5. Lowest federal tax rates on families and corporation in decades
      6. Return of manufacturing jobs and the revival of key industries
      7. Energy independence
      8. Mass reduction of bureaucratic regulations on companies
      9. Expansion and revival of our military investment
      10. Virtual defeat of ISIS
      11. A pathway to ending the Korean War and denuclearization of N. Korea
      12. Pressure being applied to Iran which could lead to regime change
      13. Filling our courts with conservative, Constitutional justices
      14. The education of the dangers of illegal immigration, anchor babies and chain migration and the effect on the US

So with all these good, common sense initiatives and results happening who will the Democrats blame come 2024 or 2028 if they take over the WH, and both chambers of Congress come 2020?

IMO, by 2024 or possibly 2028 all of the above successes will be flipped with life in America being more like this:

      1. Much higher taxes for 80% of families. (No longer can the top 50% pay for everyone)
      2. A annual GDP that is below 2%
      3. A debt burden that exceeds 25-27 Trillion
      4. The disappearance of our manufacturing base as it again moves overseas
      5. Unemployment back up into the 6-8% range
      6. Millions return to social programs such as food stamps due to high unemployment.
      7. US no longer energy independent
      8. Budget cuts to our military as technology and investment spending declines
      9. The reversal of our embassy out of Jerusalem
      10. The return to supporting and propping up of Iran
      11. The return of ISIS and new terrorist groups
      12. The return of everything being Politically Correct
      13. Immigration that is running a muck – Millions flood in annually
      14. ICE eliminated
      15. Socialized medicine rolls out.

Maybe Americans have to absolutely feel massive pain and suffering before they wake up and see that they have all been conned by the left for years.

But make no mistake if PT doesn’t win in 2020 much if not all of the items just above will come about IMO.

I wish someone would put these lists side by side and ask Americans to pick which America they would prefer. How so many can not see the writing on the wall is beyond me.

It starts by exposing it all and fast. IMO, we are down to Whitaker or bust!
