Oleg’s Story: Yes, The Russians Were Involved in The 2016 Election…

In the past several days a name has resurfaced, only this time with some more attention than in prior reports.  The name is Oleg Deripaska, a Russian billionaire who is likely much more of a central figure than previously explained.

Byron York recently outlined new documents showing the communication between Trump Dossier author Christopher Steele and DOJ official Bruce Ohr.  Within the early 2016 discussions, Chris Steele appeared to be advocating to Bruce Ohr on behalf of Oleg Deripaska who was banned from travel into the U.S. by the State Department.

(Byron York) Emails in 2016 between former British spy Christopher Steele and Justice Department official Bruce Ohr suggest Steele was deeply concerned about the legal status of a Putin-linked Russian oligarch, and at times seemed to be advocating on the oligarch’s behalf, in the same time period Steele worked on collecting the Russia-related allegations against Donald Trump that came to be known as the Trump dossier. The emails show Steele and Ohr were in frequent contact, that they intermingled talk about Steele’s research and the oligarch’s affairs, and that Glenn Simpson, head of the dirt-digging group Fusion GPS that hired Steele to compile the dossier, was also part of the ongoing conversation. (more)

I strongly urge you to read the York article because I’m going to expand on the Deripaska angle from the context of the reader understanding it.

From the emails it appears Steele and Ohr were discussing Deripaska during a period of February to May (ish) of 2016.  This is important context moving forward because this was the period during the presidential primary candidacy of Donald Trump as the GOP nominee was solidified; Trump won.   This is also the period when we know that “contractors” with the FBI were doing unauthorized searches of the NSA and FBI database for opposition research…. this connects to Fusion GPS.

In essence, Christopher Steele was interested in getting Oleg Deripaska a new VISA to enter the U.S.  Steele was very persistent on this endeavor and was soliciting Bruce Ohr for any assistance.  This also sets up a quid-pro-quo probability where the DOJ/FBI agrees to remove travel restrictions on Deripaska in exchange for cooperation on ‘other matters’.

Now we skip ahead a little bit to where Deripaska gained an entry visa, and one of Oleg Deripaska’s lawyers and lobbyists Adam Waldman was representing his interests in the U.S. to politicians and officials.  In May of 2018, John Solomon was contacted by Adam Waldman with a story about how the FBI contacted Deripaska for help in their Trump Russia investigation in September of 2016.

Keep in mind, this is Waldman contacting Solomon with a story.

Waldman told Solomon a story about how his client Oleg Deripaska was approached by the FBI in September of 2016 and asked for help with information about Paul Manafort and by extension Donald Trump.  Within the backstory for the FBI and Deripaska was a prior connection between Robert Mueller and Deripaska in 2009.

Again, as you read the recap, remember this is Waldman contacting Solomon.  Article Link Here – and my summary below:

♦In 2009 the FBI, then headed by Robert Mueller, requested the assistance of Russian billionaire Oleg Deripaska in an operation to retrieve former FBI officer and CIA resource Robert Levinson who was captured in Iran two years earlier.  The agent assigned to engage Deripaska was Andrew McCabe; the primary FBI need was financing and operational support.  Deripaska spent around $25 million and would have succeeded except the U.S. State Department, then headed by Hillary Clinton, backed out.

♦In September of 2016 Andrew McCabe is now Deputy Director of the FBI, when two FBI agents approached Deripaska in New York – again asking for his help.  This time the FBI request was for Deripaska to outline Trump’s former campaign manager Paul Manafort as a tool of the Kremlin.  Deripaska once hired Manafort as a political adviser and invested money with him in a business venture that went bad. Deripaska sued Manafort, alleging he stole money. However, according to the article, despite Deripaska’s disposition toward Manafort he viewed the request as absurd.  He laughed the FBI away, telling them: “You are trying to create something out of nothing.”

This story, as told from the perspective of Adam Waldman -Deripaska’s lawyer/lobbyist- is important because it highlights a connection between Robert Mueller and Oleg Deripaska; a connection Mueller and the DOJ/FBI never revealed on their own.

I wrote about the ramifications of the Solomon Story HERE.  Again, hopefully most will review; because there’s a larger story now visible with the new communication between Christopher Steele and Bruce Ohr.

It is likely that Oleg’s 2016 entry into the U.S. was facilitated as part of a quid-pro-quo; either agreed in advance, or, more likely, planned by the DOJ/FBI for later use in their 2016 Trump operation; as evidenced in the September 2016 FBI request.  Regardless of the planning aspect, billionaire Deripaska is connected to Chris Steele, a source for Chris Steele, and likely even the employer of Chris Steele.

The FBI used Oleg Deripaska (source), and Oleg Deripaska used the FBI (visa).

Here’s where it gets interesting….

In that May article John Solomon reports that Deripaska wanted to testify to congress last year (2017), without any immunity request, but was rebuked. Who blocked his testimony?

In 2017 Oleg Deripaska was represented in the U.S. by Adam Waldman.  Mr. Waldman was also representing Christopher Steele, the author of the Dossier.  Waldman was the liaison Senator Mark Warner (Senate Intelligence Committee Vice-Chairman) was using to try and set up a secret meeting with Christopher Steele. {Text Messages}

As you can see from the text messages (more here), the House Intelligence Committee wanted to interview Deripaska.  However, based on their ongoing contact and relationship Deripaska’s lawyer, Adam Waldman, asks Senate Intelligence Committee Vice-Chair Mark Warner for feedback.

Oleg Deripaska was blocked from testifying to congress.  Now, it was obviously not from the HPSCI (Nunes Committee), but rather by the Senate Intel Committee, via Vice-Chair Senator Mark Warner.  Oh yes, THAT Senator Mark Warner again.

Now, think about this….  Yes, with Oleg Deripaska in the picture there was indeed Russian meddling in the 2016 election; only, it wasn’t the type of meddling currently being sold.  The FBI/DOJ were using Russian Deripaska to frame their Russian conspiracy narrative. It is almost a certainty that Deripaska was one of Chris Steeles sources for the dossier.

Now, put yourself in Deripaska’s shoes and think about what happens AFTER candidate Donald Trump surprisingly wins the election.

All of a sudden Deripaska the asset becomes a risk to the corrupt Scheme Team (DOJ/FBI et al); especially as the DOJ/FBI then execute the “insurance policy” effort against Donald Trump…. and eventually enlist Robert Mueller.

It is entirely possible for a Russian to be blackmailing someone, but it ain’t Trump vulnerable to blackmail; it’s the conspiracy crew within the DOJ and FBI.  Deripaska now has blackmail material on Comey, McCabe and crew.

After the 2017 (first year) failure of the “insurance policy” it now seems more likely President Trump will outlive the soft coup.  In May 2018, Oleg tells Waldman to call John Solomon and tell him the story from a perspective favorable to Deripaska.

As the story is told, in 2017 Oleg was more than willing to testify to congress… likely laughing the entire time…  but the corrupt participants within congress damned sure couldn’t let Deripaska testify.  Enter corrupt SSCI Vice-Chairman Mark Warner:

Um, we’ve got a problem here Mark…

The Russians (Deripaska) really do have leverage and blackmail… but it ain’t over Trump. Oleg has blackmail on Comey, McCabe and conspiracy crew.  Oleg Deripaska must be kept away from congress and away from exposing the scheme.

Guess who else must be controlled and/or kept away from congress?

Julian Assange.

Assange has evidence the Russians didn’t hack the DNC.

Between Deripaska’s first-hand knowledge of the DOJ/FBI work on both the Dossier and the DOJ/FBI intention for his use as a witness; and Julian Assange’s first-hand knowledge of who actually took the DNC email communication;… well, the entire Russian narrative could explode in their faces.

Control is needed.

You can almost hear the corrupt U.S. intelligence officials calling their U.K. GCHQ partners in Britain and yelling at them to do something, anything, and for the love of God, shut down Assange’s access to the internet STAT…. Yeah, funny that.

Now, who moves into position to control Julian Assange?

Well, well, well…. Lookie here?  Who dat? Apparently the SSCI wants to interview WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, in a closed session.  Signed by none-other than our corrupt-o-crats Richard Burr and Mark Warner.  Yeah, funny that.

Lest anyone need a reminder…. “The most corrupt part of congress is the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence (SSCI). The SSCI is the center of the deepest part of the Deep State swamp. The SSCI never, ever, E.V.E.R… does anything that does not protect and advance the self-interest of the corrupt Washington DC professional political class.”

Now do we see why the SSCI is the center of protecting the entire fraudulent apparatus?

It’s somewhat humorous to look at this fiasco from the perspective of Oleg Deripaska.  He must be having a lot of laughs with his Ruskie friends about these stupid Americans and how the intelligence apparatus of the United States of America is controlled by corrupt politicians trying to save themselves and the corrupt institutions.

The Russians, notorious for sowing discord, are being used as a shield from sunlight upon actions taken by U.S. own intelligence officers: James Comey, Andrew McCabe, Loretta Lynch, Sally Yates, John Brennan, James Clapper etc.

There’s a reason why I keep emphasizing the source of the John Solomon story was Adam Waldman.  Think about it from the perspective of the conspiracy group reading how Oleg instructed Waldman to present his story.

With Deripaska telling Solomon how the FBI contacted him; the background of their prior collaborative relationship; and the likelihood of Deripaska giving information to Chris Steele for the dossier; the scheme team really, really, needed to double down on the Russian conspiracy narrative in case Oleg ever did testify to congress.

By doubling down on the Russian Collusion narrative the conspirators created a ‘catch-22’ defense.  They could/can claim Deripaska was/is giving disinformation in his version of events to support the interests of Russia and sewing chaos in America etc.  And any Republican who would give Deripaska a platform to tell what happened in 2016 would be doing the bidding of Vladimir Putin.  See how that works?

The soft coup team protects themselves by impugning the motive of Deripaska, and diminishing his credibility under the auspices of Russian disinformation.

Lastly, Senator Tom Cotton actually asked FBI Director Christopher Wray if Oleg Deripaska was employing Christopher Steele.  Wray said he couldn’t answer.  WATCH:

With all these interactions and various connections between Oleg, Mueller, Manafort makes me wonder whether there’s more to the Mueller rationale for the extreme treatment / midnight raid / solitary confinement / etc he has put Manafort through besides being a flight risk…I wonder if one of the folks Manafort tried to contact was Oleg ?

In truth, Maquis, the Russians were just doing what we do in everyone else’s elections; the discord and chaos is being sown and spread by the majority media in and effort to achieve what the Obama IC failed to do — defeat Donald J. Trump.

Yes, we meddle, as River Tam would say. But the Communist Conspiracy wrought by the Russians a century ago has long dominated American society, in every sphere, and while we have some bullshit regime change antics in our ledger, nothing in history tops the Red’s utter reversal of America’s perception of Righteousness and Reality.

This is an area where the Russians far outclass us — the amount of misery, suffering, and death causes by the Russian communists is far in advance of anything our country has done.
A good example of their meddling is convincing Americans that our “Deep State/CIA/blah blah blah” are the purveyors of all evil in the world…literally “American is the Great Satan”.
That’s a bit of communist propaganda right there — it was first bandied about by fellow travelling academics.
PS. when considering the Soviet Union one must consider the elevated status of Russians within that system, so that’s why I say Russian communists: sure, they’ve had some who were not, but the one group who benefitted most within the USSR were the Russians, in particular the Muscovites — they just kinda took over from the czars, didn’t change a thing about how the ordinary people or countryside was treated (which was like schiesse although if anything more corrupt and more vicious).

        • Covadonga says:

The Russians did dream that dream ever since the Communists came to power in 1917, and now they have realized it.

All of those media people went to “journalism” schools where the professors were overwhelmingly Marxists.

All those government officials went to places like Harvard and Yale, where the professors in the departments of government (and most other departments) were overwhelmingly Marxists.

Some of those professors, media people, and government officials, way too many, are not merely Marxists in their philosophical beliefs, but actual agents of the Russian Communist state.

It has been that way not just this year or during the last Administration, but increasingly since November 16, 1933, when Franklin Roosevelt broke with the tradition of 4 previous presidents and offered diplomatic recognition to the USSR, a regime dedicated to the destruction of our government and of all Western civilization. To some extent, it has been that way since even before 1933.

They have since infiltrated their agents into every institution of our society: government, political parties, universities, schools, churches, Hollywood, etc. And each agent has attracted a swarm of Useful Idiots, following the Communist ideology religiously, unwilling to put any fact or argument before it.

And now their followers have achieved the dominance here that they display today.

I don’t think Huber has impaneled a Grand Jury. The link to Sessions’ letter describing his charge to Huber is below. This is NOT a prosecution, but a review and evaluation of past cases. There has been no indication of a change.

The main paragraph from the Sessions letter:

“I receive regular updates from Mr. Huber and upon the conclusion of his review, will receive his recommendations as to whether any matters not currently under investigation should be opened, whether any matters currently under investigation require further resources, or whether any matters merit the appointment of a special counsel,” Sessions stated.

  3. Great read and yes WE understand the plots and subplots, but the American people do not. This needs to be simplified. “The Obama IC spied on DJT to help HRC in the 2016 elections”. There are 2 months to tell this story and the MSM will not report it. But they will have to report arrests, charges, and plea deals. Get those going and then fill in the narrative pushing stories to Foxnews, Wash Examiner, The Hill.

We seem to get teased with stuff that never materializes. If there really is a John Huber there is no reason we cant have one indictment in a year. JUST ONE! Rudy gives me hope. He would be great counsel to POTUS on who, how, and when. And his seems cock sure something is going down soon. But if nothing happens before midterms it could mean the swamp won and POTUS is on his own.

“Also on or around June 9, prior to and following the Trump Tower meeting, Veselnitskaya met with Fusion GPS co-founder Glenn R. Simpson,”

She was only able to be in the country because of “extraordinary” steps taken by the Obama Administration to allow her in without a visa.

“The Homeland Security Department confirmed Friday that Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya was granted special entry to the United States on multiple occasions in 2015 and 2016 at the request of the Justice Department.
A federal prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney’s office in Manhattan told the court in a hearing in January 2016 that the “extraordinary circumstances” parole request needed to be approved by Attorney General Loretta Lynch.”

Soros is no Jew, perhaps a JINO, but of the synagogue of Satan (Revelation 2:9ff and 3:9ff.).

Then Bongino and Sundance read such reports and connect various dots and different perspectives. Like Sundance, Bongino cites where he gets his information (and often cites the Conservative Treehouse). A lot of comments on the treehouse are similar to other blog- not due to plagerism but just similar thinking and words coming into play- like splodey heads, white hats, black hats. The left has noticed we conservatives have our quirky terminology that caught on that’s different from their lingo.

I am trying to discern Oleg’s motivations. Oleg is a billionaire. He has a lot to lose. Getting involved in an attempt to take down a candidate for President of the United States is risky business.

    What motivated Oleg?

    1. The USA had tied Oleg to organized crime in Russia and that restricted his ability to get a visa and certainly also made his international business endeavors more difficult.
    2. Helping Hillary came with a price. Assuming Hillary knew about Oleg’s help in providing Steele with information, then Hillary would owe Oleg a favor or two after the election. If Hillary didn’t know, then Oleg’s knowledge of the scheme could be used to blackmail Hillary. Hillary could be forced toprovide the same favors, or else Wikileaks gets dirt on Hillary, DNC, Comey, Lynch, etc.
    3. Having the dirt on Hillary would also please Vladimir. What would Vladimir require of Hillary in return for silence? Perhaps USA recognition of annexation of Crimea?
    4. Vladimir would also love how this scandal disrupts the USA, sows distrust in American institutions, etc. What a dream come true for Vlad!

I wonder if Oleg considered the possibility that Hillary would lose? I wonder if he considered the possibility that Hillary’s people would be so careless as to leave evidence of the scheme and his involvement in texts, e-mails and notes? I wonder if he has read the chapter in Trump’s book about revenge? What is a Russian Oligarch to do?

When it became clear the Trump was likely to survive the coup, Oleg knew it was time to switch sides. So in May 2018, Oleg has his lawyer contact John Solomon and place a news article informing Americans what a swell guy he was in trying to get our spy released from an Iranian jail. He even spent $25 million of his own money in the attempt. He is an Oligarch with a heart. The story also reports Oleg laughing when the FBI suggested that the Trump campaign was colluding with Russia. Planting a story like that would make PDJT happy.

But Oleg has more work to do to make amends for his transgressions. Step one is to stay alive. Step two is to testify to Congress and bring the Mueller witch hunt to an end.

He’s worth $7 billion. About 100 oligarchs control more than $420 billion.

He and another oligarch, Viktor Vekselberg ($16 billion) we’re aluminum producers, merged their companies (along with another partner, Glencore, a Marc Rich company — Rich was pardoned by Clinton) before they had a falling out. Global financial crisis hit and they were bailed out by a Putin bank.

Both wanted out. Deripaska made a bid on German car company Opel — GM wanted to split it off, a Canadian auto parts company called MAGNA was involved, but Opel was supposed to go to Russia and jump start their lagging auto manufacturing biz. Merkel was in favor, Russians and Canadians on board, Hillary as SOS overrode the recommendations of the Auto Task Force and many of her State subordinates and nixed the $8 billion deal, which everyone else was in favor of and was financed by the Kremlin and the German government.

MAGNA paid the Clinton Foundation between $500,000 and $1 million (likely a pass through from Putin/Deripaska). The Clintons were also being paid by Veksekberg who opposed the deal and wanted to destroy Deripaska. He paid the Clintons to pull the rug out from under Deripaska. Millions of Russian funds from Rusnano, the Russian government venture capital company, wound up in the Clinton Foundation. Those funds had been allocated to the Skolvoko Innovation Center project, Putin’s attempt to form a Russian Silicon Valley, and part of the “reset” promoted by Hillary, which was controlled by Vekselberg.

(Interesting aside — Skolvoko never produced much in the way of tech innovations, and Russian government funding dried up due to serious drop in ppb of oil, so now they’re looking for private investors.)

In 2010, as part of the “reset”, State sent a couple dozen private tech company reps to Skolvoko to collaborate. This was around the same time the NY Russian spy ring was caught and sent packing, including sexy spy Anna Chapman who was running a honey pot op and got too close to a sitting member of Obozo’s cabinet (some say it was Turbo Timmy Geithner, some say Hillary.)

Also, Russia is using Rusnano as an intelligence platform, acquiring tech and developing relationships within Silicon Valley, acquiring board seats, getting inside info and nudging companies in a direction favorable to Russia. Remember that John Podesta joined the board of Joule, a high tech renewable energy company right after the Uranium One sale, and a couple of months later Rusnano invested $35 million, earning a board seat for Rusnano’s corrupt CEO.

Sorry for the Russian novel length of this post, but there’s a lot of back story to what’s going on now, many players and hard-to-follow threads and connections.

Worse yet, they continue to push the false narrative that Putin was rooting for Trump to win. If that false narrative had been disavowed then this whole investigation would have collapsed. The emphasis would have switched from Trump To Hillary. The fact that Pompeo, Coats, Wray, and Mike Rogers still carry this bull shit narrative created by Comey, Brennan, and Clapper is neauseating. And yes, I know Mike Rogers gave it “moderate confidence”. WTF??? None of these folks can re-asses their earlier assessments????

Nevertheless, the back-room money laundering outline is clearly visible within those words. Since the Obama administration never let’s a crisis go to waste, my guess is that this was just another pretense to give millions in cash to the Iranians and friends, only they didn’t even bother to get the asset back. What is it about Deripaska’s physical presence inside the United States that is so important, that he couldn’t do remotely, by phone or by courier or by computer or by teleconference?

Unless Deripaska is his own hitman and knee-cap buster (maybe when he was younger, but doubtful at this point in his career as an ‘oligarch’), what is it that he can do ‘in person’ which he cannot do or coordinate from afar?

The seemingly most obvious answer is to be able to ‘communicate’ in person, without being listened to by NSA and/or military intelligence.

And if a Russian oligarch is involved in something so secret that he needs to travel to the other side of the planet to speak with someone face to face in order to avoid even the possibility of being overheard by international intelligence agencies, then it must be something exceptionally important, exceptionally criminal, or BOTH.

Considering the context and the timing, the vitally important and exceptionally criminal activity Oleg was a key part of was the conspiracy to make sure Sick Hillary stole the election.

LOL. It appears that Nellie Ohr, (co)writer & researcher of the ‘Steele’ dossier, is a hardcore Marxist and a Stalin apologist (just like Putin by the way, who is perhaps a bit more nationalistic, but otherwise also a Stalin apologist).
You really can’t make this shit up!

Special Report: Nellie Ohr: Woman in the Middle
Is it a surprise to find a Stalin apologist at the center of the Steele dossier scandal?

Still, relevant facts have emerged. These include Nellie Ohr’s study in the USSR in 1989; her fluency in Russian and Ph.D. in Russian history in 1990; a 2010 CIA affiliation, which practically makes her former MI6 agent Steele’s “opposite number”; and the extremely curious detail, harkening back to earlier eras of spycraft, that on May 23, 2016, around the time she came on board Fusion GPS, Nellie Ohr applied for a ham radio operator’s license.

Thus, Nellie Ohr’s exact activities inside one of the great Russian-American disinformation campaigns of all time remain opaque. What most observers don’t realize, though, is that we already have a window onto her thinking through her strongly-etched, ideological view of Soviet history.

This is in contrast to what we know of Steele, aside from his widely reported anti-Trump animus. We may read that Steele was widely known as a “confirmed socialist” while president of the Cambridge Union debating society in 1986; we may see, thirty blank years later, that he chose to break the sensational outlines of his relationship with the FBI and role in its investigation of the Trump campaign in Mother Jones, a media outlet named for a famous American socialist; but Nellie Ohr has a paper trail.

This paper trail is comprised of a Stanford Ph.D. thesis and a series of academic book reviews, all published between 1990 and 2004 when Nellie Ohr, Harvard Class of 1983, was probably between the ages of 29 and 43. I mention her seasoned age because in the course of my own detailed analysis of Ohr and her writings here, here and here, I discovered something shocking that cannot be put down to or dismissed today as youthful inexperience: Nellie Ohr follows in the academic tradition of 1970s and 1980s “revisionism.”

Like me, most readers unencumbered by a Ph.D. will not immediately understand the term’s profound significance. Here is a beam of illumination from one of the movement’s progenitors, Sheila Fitzpatrick, who, in a 2007 overview of this “revisionist” school, explains its origins thus: “Quite a few of the 1970s revisionists were Marxists… who hoped to find that at least part of the promise of socialist revolution had been realized or could be recovered.” She further notes that the “political agenda” of the so-called New Left “undoubtedly influenced many American revisionists.”

In the introduction to her 418-page paper, Ohr sets forth her main arguments, citing many of “revisionism’s” leading figures — J. Arch Getty, Roberta Manning, Gabor Rittersporn, Sheila Fitzpatrick.

Speaking “revisionist” lingo, Nellie Ohr turns the millions killed by Stalin into “excesses,” which, in Ohr’s words, “sometimes represented desperate measures taken by a government that had little real control over the country.” (Poor Stalin.) She depicts purges as representing “to some degree a center-periphery conflict in which the ‘state-building’ central government tried to bring headstrong local satraps under control.”

In later years, Ohr reviewed several books by “revisionists,” further underscoring her simpatico perspective. Even in the dry code of academic writing, some of her statements ring out. Here’s one from a review of Robert W. Thurston’s Life and Terror in Stalin’s Russia (1939-1941), a book controversial (notorious) for its Terror-lite thesis.

One must commend this attempt to account for the agonizing paradoxes of the Stalinist state, one which was building a legal structure, yet tortured and executed innocent civilians, and which offered opportunities to poor people while denying them political representation.

Oh, those agonizing paradoxes. Awful enough inside ivy-covered walls teaching young people, but something else again at the heart of what is still unfolding as a government-wide-conspiracy.

Ohr’s recommendations put her own arguments “into perspective,” too. At one time, the New York Times defined the range of historical debate on Stalin’s “collectivization” as stretching between Robert Conquest and Chris Ward. Conquest, renowned for his works on the purges and the terror-famine in the Ukraine, is also famous as a judgmental anti-Communist, and gloriously so. Ward, an emeritus senior lecturer at Cambridge, it seems, is non-judgmental to a point of understanding Stalin’s crimes. Walter Laqueur pointed out that the subtitle to the conclusion of Ward’s book is: “Tout comprendre c’est tout pardonner’ “ — to understand all is to forgive all. Ward has also been noted for his “contagious enthusiasm” for the writings of Trotsky.

Nellie Ohr reviewed Ward’s book in the mid-1990s while she was still teaching Russian history at Vassar. This may account for the following allusion to the classroom, where — who knows? — perhaps her future Fusion GPS colleague Edward Baumgartner was taking notes.

    Ohr writes:

To introduce students to the Stalin era can be a frustrating task. To convey the terror and excitement of the period, one can assign a memoir of a prison camp victim or an observer such as John Scott or Maurice Hindus.

    Terror and excitement?

Not incidentally, Maurice Hindus was an epic Soviet apologist. As for John Scott, Whittaker Chambers i.d.’d him in Witness as belonging to the cabal inside Time magazine that tried to get the ex-Communist witness fired; much later (to be fair, probably after Ohr wrote her review) Scott was revealed to have infiltrated the OSS for the NKVD (codename ”Ivanov”).

    Ohr continues:

Such accounts, however, fail to explain the excesses of the Stalin era, and whether, in Alec Nove’s words, Stalin was necessary…

“Excesses” again. And, really now: Was Stalin necessary? Perhaps this question was a topic of “frustrating” debate in Ohr’s “revisionist” classroom.

Today, however, none of this is academic. We now know there is a central figure in the “dossier” spying scandal who finds “agonizing paradoxes,” and “terror and excitement” in Stalin’s dictatorship, where, after all, “excesses” sometimes happen.

What’s really alarming is I’m sure Vladimir Putin does, too.

This is not a quip. In Putin’s version of “thaw,” it is mass-murdering Stalin who has re-acquired a kind of respectability and even reverence that is not incompatible with aspects of academic “revisionism.” I don’t take lightly the possibility that the anti-Trump conspirators have more in common with the old Kremlin than currently imagined — especially when we consider that Donald Trump, whether he or anyone else realizes it, is the most instinctively anti-communist president elected in generations.

Ergo; Nellie Ohr is a hardcore totalitarian Marxist, yes even a Stalinist.
And she is one of the main researchers, composers and writers of that ‘Steele’ dossier made by Fusion GPS.

Why did Deripaska get involved? Was it all for a US visa? Was it because he has something against DJT? An ax to grind with Manafort? Is this the real reason that Manafort is getting the shaft from Robert Mueller, because he can out the “conflict of interest” Mueller has in being connected to Deripaska

Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska used details from Mueller’s indictment in a new lawsuit against Paul Manafort and Rick Gates

and this lawsuit by Oleg is because of this:

The story of toxic Russian money — government money handled by crooked officials and the profits they make from it — is, however, all about connecting the dots. For example, one of the companies the U.S. court was told Mikerin used to receive kickbacks, the now-defunct U.K.-based Leila Global Limited, was part of a network of firms ostensibly controlled by Latvians Erik Vanagels and Stan Gorin. The company that owned Black Sea Cable — the only Ukrainian asset political consultant Paul Manafort attempted to buy as part of an investment project with Russian billionaire Oleg Deripaska — belonged to the same network, as did the firm to which ownership reverted after the Manafort deal apparently fell through.

The U.S. Attorney’s office in Manhattan is investigating whether three prominent Washington power players engaged in illegal foreign lobbying, after Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s office referred the matter to federal prosecutors, according to a source with knowledge of the matter.

Those under investigation include Tony Podesta, a Democratic lobbyist and co-founder of the onetime lobbying powerhouse the Podesta Group; Vin Weber, a former GOP congressman from Minnesota; and attorney Greg Craig, who worked in the Clinton White House and served as White House counsel for the Obama administration.

    6. Podesta Group lobbied for same pro-Kremlin Ukrainians as Manafort. The Podesta Group, founded by John and Tony and headed by Tony, took $900,000 in payments from what Politico calls “pro-Russian Ukrainian politicians who also employed former Donald Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort.” The purpose was to conduct influence operations against Congress and federal agencies on behalf of the pro-Putin figures. The Trump campaign’s liaison to the RNC in 2016, Rick Gates, connected the Podesta Group with the European Centre for a Modern Ukraine, a non-profit whose board originally contained Ukrainian members of parliament from the pro-Russian party.” The lobbying ended in 2014 when Ukraine’s pro-Putin president, Viktor Yanukovych, fled to Moscow.

    7. Uranium One: Sale of 20% of US Uranium Production to Russia. Uranium One was owned by Frank Giustra, a close friend and business partner of former President Bill Clinton. Then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton approved the company’s sale to the Russian nuclear agency, Rosatom, giving Putin’s nuclear weapons monopoly ownership of 20% of US annual uranium production. Sberbank, which hired lobbyist Tony Podesta, was the lead financial institution involved in the transaction. Tony Podesta’s firm also represented Uranium One before the State Department in 2012 and 2015. Giustra and others tied to the sale donated $145 million to the Clinton Foundation.

    8. David and Simon Reuben. Two British billionaires who made a fortune with Russian gangster-oligarchs during the latters’ so-called “Aluminum Wars,” the Reubens have long been tied to organized crime figures. They formed a joint venture with gangster-tycoon Oleg Deripaska (with whom they later had a falling out) and Lev and Mikhail Chernoi, who are linked to the Russian Mafia. The Reubens raised money for the Clinton Foundation.

    9. Viktor Pinchuk is a pro-Kremlin Ukrainian oligarch with a decade-long relationship with the Clintons. He gave to both the Clinton and Trump campaigns. He has long sought to be accepted as a broker between the U.S. and Putin. His company, Interpipe, provides gas and oil pipelines to Iran. He is reported to be the largest funder of the Clinton Foundation.

A wild thought which just occurred to me. When President Trump had the 2 hr. private meeting with Putin…is there a possibility Putin delivered a message from Deripaska (to PT) regarding what had transpired between himself and all the U.S. government agencies (DOJ, FBI and members of Congress) who wanted him to collude with them in their attempts to first thwart Candidate Trump and then overthrown President Trump after he was elected.

  41. This is all very tiresome and frustrating. Trump should declassify everything and release it to the public. We deserve to know how the people have been manipulated and decieved, let the chips fall, the alternative is the slow decent into chaos and disintegration of the best system, on paper, ever concieved.

It certainly appears that everything is being timed for maximum impact in the weeks (or week) before the midterm elections.

Looks like McCabe and Comey put a Clinton loyalist in charge of FBI Little Rock, Arkansas just in time to jam up the Clinton Foundation investigation as it probed money laundering. This is the one real investigation going on, and McCabe plugged this gap nicely for now.

As far as the catch-22, the White hats just need to be clear. As affirmed by Barry, RR, and others. no evidence of tampering of actual votes (nor any clear path as to how that could’ve happened) occurred. (And of course, the remedy to even the idea of any such problem occurring is verifiable voting methods — paper ballots, voter ID, etc.)

HOWEVER, could an oligarch corrupt individuals within government? Well, if they were insulated from oversight (e.g. those in intelligence who could answer any inquiry with a matter being too sensitive to reveal or as part of an active investigation — never mind that such investigations can be started by those with an agenda to hide from oversight), sure. Don’t forget as our host has mentioned time and again the ways the DOJ kept itself from oversight, specifically the National Security Division (with deputy AG Sally Yates issuing her lengthy memo essentially exempting the NSD from congressional oversight).

Thus, the canard of Russian tipping the scales as far as the voting process remains far-fetched and evidence-starved. However, every bit of oligarch pay for play with partisan US/UK bureaucrats that gets uncovered is its own issue.
