Friday August 10th – Open Thread

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.

For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

    Ashamed

Some time ago, we noticed in the fly-leaf of a young man’s Bible, a list of autographs of “great” preachers. At the top of the page, one had been scratched out with a penknife. Our curiosity aroused, we asked him what had happened.

“That was Pastor J. C. O’Hair’s signature,” he answered.

    “And you scratched it out!”

“Yes,” he replied, “these other men would never sign with his name there!”

This young man’s heart had once been thrilled with the gospel of the grace of God and the truth of the mystery, but before a few “great” preachers, he had become ashamed of the one whom God had used to open these truths to him.

Popular opinion! What a powerful enemy to the truth!

Little wonder that some faint-hearted Christians should be ashamed of those who boldly proclaim the mystery when we realize there was danger that even godly young Timothy might be ashamed of Paul! Let us who mean to be faithful, however, remember that the words of Paul to Timothy are also the Word of God to us:

“Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God” (II Tim. 1:8).

    By Pastor Cornelius R. Stam

    To the Reader:
Some of our Two Minutes articles were written many years ago by Pastor C. R. Stam for publication in newspapers. When many of these articles were later compiled in book form, Pastor Stam wrote this word of explanation in the Preface:

“It should be borne in mind that the newspaper column, Two Minutes With the Bible, has now been published for many years, so that local, national and international events are discussed as if they occurred only recently. Rather than rewrite or date such articles, we have left them just as they were when first published. This, we felt, would add to the interest, especially since our readers understand that they first appeared as newspaper articles.”

To this we would add that the same is true for the articles written by others that we continue to add, on a regular basis, to the Two Minutes library. We hope that you’ll agree that while some of the references in these articles are dated, the spiritual truths taught therein are timeless.

During Hannity’s show on Thursday the news ticker had a horrible FAKE NEWS lie about FLOTUS’s parents getting their U.S. citizenship thru chain migration. It then went on to have a long snarky explanation of PDJT’s opinion of that policy. A big fat offensive lie right during one of Hannity’s lists while Joe DiGenova was waiting to get a half of a sentence in before getting cut off. I have see some of the worst fake news on the Fox news ticker, but this one really took the cake! FLOTUS’s parents’ lawyer explained how they went through the long legal process to become citizens. If Hannity wants to keep his promise to “never be the destroy Trump media,” then he better take a look at what is scrolling by right under his nose. If you saw this, please contact FOX and complain. I have been wanting to say: as a designer of extreme bleeding edge technologies, something is becoming very apparent to me in the last year. US companies are very open about their products. Asian and European companies are extremely guarded, to the point of often making it impossible to use their parts. ISL69147 and IR35201.

While I try very hard to use US sourced components, there are a number of cases where a critical part is covered by patents, originally from a US company, but that company was bought by a foreign company. Case in point: multi-phase 150W 1volt power supply controller: US patents now property of foreign companies. Critical to designing a high power computer.

I theorize there are two aspects to it:
      1) they play close to the vest with their product info because they use stolen IP.
      2) they do everything they can to prevent Made in USA.

It is a battle. We can not keep letting foreign companies buy our IP and use it against us!

“Prehistoric” man was NOT dumb. Prior to the “dark ages”, man was inventive and creative. Even before the Flood, someone built a city:

Genesis 4:17 And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch.

Think of the planning and infrastructure needed to concentrate and support humans in a city space.

“Even before the Flood, someone built a city”

Then things became even more advanced when some angels started interbreeding with man.

Genesis 6:2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. 4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

Jude 1:6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

This polluted the human bloodline, in a satanic attempt of genetic engineering to prevent the promised Redeemer

Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

So God had to start over with Noah and his family, because his genetic line was not corrupted:

Genesis 6:9 These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.

Genetic mutations….not good. Not good for humans and not good for food either (GMO’s).

Many people don’t follow along with the celestial beings (dark angels) cross-breeding with human beings. Even tho we have the pyramids and all sorts of indications of advanced thinking back in the ancient days…..it gives every day people the creeps.

Most don’t want to believe that some humans are born evil either, that it really is a nature vs nurture thing. Sometimes it is in the blood…..Descendants Of Satan. Scientists will eventually catch on. Blood will tell. All that blood stuff in the Bible is probably more than symbolic. Blood of Christ, Blood of the lamb, Blood of the Saints.

Physically our realm has been banned by God, Satan is chained and held by Michael in another realm, Heaven. Just spirits roam. Holy Spirit is for us. There is another spirit for them…..evil exists.

Satan will be released…with 1/3 of the angels that sided with him, and they’ll be here again just like during Job’s time.

Sixth and Seventh trumps to follow.

      • For those who draw wisdom from the ancient scriptures, do note that in the story of the creation of man, Adam and Eve were perfect, unfallen, in the image of God. We can’t even imagine such brilliance. Some have proposed that if we met them today we would fall before them and worship them as gods. Such purity, honor, intelligence and glory it would overwhelm us. Placed in the garden of Eden, no need unmet. How far we have fallen.

Well said.Yet another big problem caused by politicians.

FTA – It is an accepted but lamented fact of life among police officers that in order to rise on the promotional ladder, one must endorse the political fashions currently in favor among the city’s politicians. And the higher one ascends on that ladder, the more convincingly one must do so. As a consequence, reflecting the governing principles of almost any city you can name, most police chiefs are liberals, or at least pretend to be with a passing level of feigned sincerity.

As a result of this, the upper levels of most police departments, most certainly those in large cities, become clogged with men and women who can recite leftist pieties as confidently as any MSNBC host, the better to curry favor with politicians whose sponsorship is essential to further promotion.

There exists no more vivid example of this than the city of Chicago, where Hillary Clinton received 84 percent of the 2016 presidential vote, and where there hasn’t been a Republican mayor since 1931.

Between Friday afternoon and Monday morning, 74 people were shot in the city,12 of them fatally. In one seven-hour span, from about midnight Saturday to about 7:00 a.m. Sunday, 41 people were shot, five of whom died.

    PSALM 100:1-5
1 Shout joyfully to the LORD, all the earth.
2 Serve the LORD with gladness; Come before Him with joyful singing.
3 Know that the LORD Himself is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
4 Enter His gates with thanksgiving And His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him, bless His name.
5 For the LORD is good; His lovingkindness is everlasting And His faithfulness to all generations.

    Expressing Gratitude to God
    AUGUST 10, 2018
    Psalm 100:1-5

If you’re a Christian, you probably know that thanking the Lord for His blessings is an important aspect of your relationship with Him. But have you ever considered the different ways this can be done? Gratitude isn’t limited to verbal expressions or prayers but can actually be demonstrated in a variety of ways.

In the Psalms, one of the most frequently mentioned methods of conveying thanks is by singing. Songs can often say what our heart feels but has trouble articulating. As the words from our favorite hymns or praise songs flow from our lips, we are reminded of who God is and the magnitude of His salvation and love for us. And singing isn’t reserved just for church. When we’re filled with gratitude, we may find ourselves humming or singing songs that magnify the Lord wherever we are.

Another way to express gratefulness is by serving God—whether through acts of kindness, teaching Sunday school or Bible study, organizing a ministry, reaching out to marginalized people, sharing the gospel with the lost, helping someone in need, or giving financially. Every one of these can be offered to God with an attitude of thanksgiving for all He’s done for us.

Ultimately, we show the Lord our gratitude through obedience. A holy life flows from a heart filled with thankfulness for God’s grace, mercy, love, and salvation. Instead of living for ourselves and our own pleasures, we’ll want to exalt Christ in all that we do, say, and think. And as we allow God’s Spirit to control us, He will faithfully enable us to live in a manner that is pleasing and honoring to the Lord.

Ron Brown does an excellent job explaining why the media narratives are presenting a gross oversimplification of the wildfires. (created 8/8/18) Presenting the history of California’s timber (mis)management and how it has set the Golden State up for the current state of affairs.

He shows examples of types of mismanagement of the forest and emphasizes the fact that there is little old growth in the Sierra Nevada mountains. The forest is a sustainable resource that needs to be managed as such.

Carr fire threatened the most homes and was started from sparks off a trailer getting a flat tire and igniting the extremely dry brush on the side of the road. There were both extremely low humidity numbers and very strong winds that day. Loss of life and loss at least 1500 structures.

It is extremely exciting and refreshing to see a fellow black American in the political arena evoking traditional principles, which lead to real empowerment and success – not just for blacks, but for all Americans. America is the greatest land of opportunity on the planet for all who choose to go for it. And yet, evil leftists relentlessly seek to hide this truth from the masses, particularly minorities. Leftists want blacks believing that white America schemes 24-7 to keep blacks down and that blacks’ only hope is to keep voting for Democrats. Disgusting.

Most days that I go are filled with interesting conversations about the past, present, and futures of each and everyone of them. Some have even been touched by my family members and friends throughout their life. Ex: Twin girls grew up with one of my grandsons, another is grandson to one of my telephone man’s coworkers, one of the girls mother lived in the same area where I was born…

I walked into that place hurting and a bit shy about interacting with anyone, but now I think they know more about me that I know myself. And just one more thingy, my broken arm is now starting to be functional again w/o medication!!!
