They always claim “ignorance” – under the law, that’s not acceptable.
They signed a contract with M. Wolf AFTER she roasted Sarah Sanders so horrifically… they knew/know the kind of destructive routine she has. They are responsible for the content of her “comedy” – her “comedy” is among other things PROPAGANDA… ICE is NOT ISIS

        • Not propaganda. It’s dumb humor, ultimately just a pun. I don’t use Netflix, but anything that keeps people talking about a lower-budget show is useful publicity, even if some viewers disapprove.

Wolf’s show “The Break” was ordered into production by Netflix February 12th. The WH Correspondent’s Dinner was April 28th. (The Break then premiered in late May.)
          https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/daily-shows-michelle-wolf-lands-her-own-netflix-late-night-show-1083705

Like every other outlet, Netflix wants to hire whatever comics are perceived to have “edge” or career heat, but there’s no way they could have known what Michelle Wolf would say about Sarah Sanders 2 1/2 months before her dinner appearance. The controversy probably helped raise Wolf’s profile before the new show aired. I had certainly never heard of her before.

Netflix could also be ignorant of the content of the episodes before they air. TV execs do not particularly care about content. I’ve known several who never watch their own shows. They want decent audience numbers and a bottom line in the black, and don’t care how the creatives get there. If you keep eyes on the screens, you get left alone.

On cable and non-network shows, the stars can often negotiate “non-interference” clauses into their performance contracts. This is a cost-effective enticement for funny people, who tend to be more touchy about having their material re-written. The networks (by contrast) pay 30% higher salaries and residuals on average, but also demand heavy content oversight, and expect their performers to remain “family-friendly”, even in their private lives.

And another thing. this latest attack on ICE from a deranged female will rally real Americans even more. And now with the NFL walking back their rule on taking a knee, it couldn’t be better for us. We don;t have to wear MAGA hats and get beat up, we just have to support our President and all those R’s in November.

Laugh at their insanity(no use arguing facts and logic with crazy people), don’t support them economically, pray for our country and do not engage until absolutely necessary.

I have only fired a gun once in my life when my veteran husband took me to a range many, many years ago. But I have just signed up at our local shooting range for lessons. I never thought it would come to this but that’s okay. Did Joan of Arc(and I am no saint) think she could lead armies into battle to save France? An illiterate 17-year-old? But you gotta do what you gotta do.

Alternative to Netflix, cable, AND ESPN:

Sling TV offers 2 streaming packages, 1 offers ESPN channels and the other offers FOX Sports channels INSTEAD OF espn.

Both packages are otherwise exactly the same: approx 30 channels that costs $25/month.

Needless to say I subscribe to the FOX Sports package, and thereby am boycotting cable, ESPN, and Netflix simultaneously.

As I have stated here before, Donald J Trump is President of the United States. The heads of the FBI, DOJ and CIA work for him and at his pleasure. There is absolutely no reason for any of these agency heads to allow the cover-up of any misconduct or criminal activity by their subordinates especially in the attempts to take down Candidate Trump, President Trump and lie to the FISA Court! After over thirty years in Federal Law Enforcement at the DOJ and other agencies I have never seen any management cover-up misconduct by agents or attorneys…not once!

I think Trump believes he has until the summer of 2020 to soften the battlefield. Like it or not, I think the battlefield is much softer than 6 months ago and much, much softer than a year ago. When the softening has run its course it is time to pull the trigger. There are anxious people and then there are real deadlines… we are not facing a real deadline. Trump needs to manage things through the 2018 election and then start really squeezing.

Justice and FBI are supposed to function apolitically. The President should not be calling the shots on investigations and indictments that have a political component. We rightfully objected when Obama did it for Clinton and made the call about not announcing the Trump investigation, because he was getting the benefit of the wiretapping, and concluded his party would win without announcing the investigation (would’ve if he’d taken Trump more seriously politically). Sessions recused based on his acceptance of the allegation that he had the appearance of a conflict (following a somewhat higher standard than Mueller, Rosenstein, Strzok, etc.). That leaves Rosenstein “in charge,” with Huber, if he has a role, holding all his cards close to his chest. If he has indictments against Senators or Congressperson running for election in November, he’s past the point he can unseal them, without being accused of trying to tamper with that election.

But every other indictment should come out sooner rather than later. The notion that President Trump is manipulating the timing is preposterous.

Let justice come down like water and righteousness like an ever flowing stream.

Good comment. But a slight correction …

Sessions recused based on his acceptance of the allegation that he had the appearance of a conflict (following a somewhat higher standard than Mueller, Rosenstein, Strzok, etc.).

… it was far more than an appearance. Contrary to the lies spewed on the previous page by the usual kooks, Sessions was a member of the campaign and strategist, also he was nominated AG by the guy he campaigned for, *and* he was a target of the seditious investigations. He ticked all the boxes of conflict of interest.

Contrast that to AG Janet Reno who recused and appointed Fiske to be special counsel ( the DoJ version ) for Whitewater and the Vincent Foster scandals. She had no real conflict of interest except that Clinton had nominated her for AG, unlike Sessions who did campaign for candidate Trump, and was targeted as he was.

Then, after Fiske ( another so-called Republican ) failed to settle those cases satisfactorily and under criticism by Republicans complaining she was appointed by Clinton [ <—- EVERYONE READ THAT AGAIN! ] we got an Independent Counsel ( the Congress version ) Ken Starr appointed by a 3-judge panel to takeover. This was using the now defunct Congressional Law.

This should be informative to the anti-Session kooks on the previous page, but naturally it won’t be. First of all, they ( the kooks ) are more corrupt than Janet Reno, Bill Clinton and the Democrats of 1994-ish because they want and demand ( without using the actual words ) an Attorney General more corrupt than Reno who stepped aside for far less reasons. But secondly and even more important, they already forget that Watergate 2.0 was well underway before Sessions recused March 2, 2017 …

Schumer February 27, 2017 :: “Those prosecutors should not be reporting to the first senator who endorsed Donald Trump’s campaign, who served on the same campaign committee as Michael Flynn, and who nominated Donald Trump at the Republican convention,” Democratic majority leader Chuck Schumer said at a press conference last week. “The Justice Department’s own guidelines demand that Attorney General Sessions remove himself from this matter immediately.”

… Why is this important? Because the scandal and the relentless attacks were already underway and this propaganda would have been repeated ceaselessly 24/7/365, “Trump colluding with Sessions” on all channels including Faux News until they relented and appointed a special counsel or worse, Congress passes another Independent Counsel Law. But then what happens? Then it gets real bad. Congress, 90+% who hates Trump passes the law and now President Trump is put on the spot. Does he sign or veto? That becomes the next leg of Watergate 2.0. “What does the President have to hide?” If he vetoes the bill the enemy amps up the scandal further. Then they likely pass it overriding his veto and then all hell breaks loose when another 3-judge panel appoints the Independent Counsel and Watergate 2.0 officially begins.

Mueller is NOT a result of Sessions’ recusal. And though it seems unlikely, what Sessions/Rosenstein actually did was force this inevitable scandal to begin and therefore end earlier in the administration than the enemy expected. The alternative would be for it to have started right about now. And that would finish off the Trump White House in the mid-terms and no re-election. What do I mean by that? It is mid-2018. Trump and Sessions could not withstand that pressure to recuse or appoint a special counsel or the threat of Congress’s own version for the previous 1.5 years. Right about now something would give. How would a special counsel being appointed today mid-2018 factor into everyone’s daily misery quotient? This scandal would never end in that case. But now it is winding down and will soon be over and all the ever-miserable kooks will need to find something else to bitch about.

Schmuck Schumer is more than a mere hyper-partisan. He is one seat away from being majority leader of the Senate, the house where any 67 of them can create President Pence. It is this body where Trump may have 10 reliable friends when he really needs 34 to remain President. Absent Obama, Schumer is the de facto head of the (D)ummycrat party. And he would be the one to lead the effort to re-establish the statutory Independent Prosecutor law that elapsed under Bush43. His quote is informative to those paying attention and those who remember Watergate.

With 47 (D)ummies plus 2 (I)diots they have a coalition of 49 versus the (R)epublicrat 51. Any single Senator like Flake, Collins, Corker, McCain, Alexander etc can literally blackmail McConnell into anything at the moment by threatening to switch parties, and just going (I) would be sufficient. Then we get a repeat of the power sharing deal that happened when Jeffords jumped and Reid or Daschle ( I can’t remember which ) demanded and received equal status, all the committees were re-organized and essentially the Senate was lost. Any 2 Senators switching kills us dead and Schumer becomes the most important politician in the District of Criminals after the President.. [ this is why the attacks on Mitch were ignorant, we’re damn lucky this has not yet happened ]

We know the special counsel is winding down because the talk has shifted to interviewing the President, the last hail Mary phase of the coup. It will either end shortly or IMHO be postponed until after the mid-terms ( DoJ guidelines about impacting pending elections ) where if Trump successfully avoids tripping any landmines and does not interview, it will end with a Marbury style compromise giving both sides a claim to victory. And this for us, actually is a victory despite what the Enemedia will say.

Removing Trump is not in the cards despite their mathematical chances being possible, however, January 3rd is the new Congress and that could present a problem ( and in 2020 there is a bad Senate re-election schedule for us that few have yet realized ). I wrote about the political Constitutional Impeachment components here and the House/Senate vote possibilities here.

In short, Trump can make no more mistakes. If he does, we could lose him and that means losing the country. At this point he ( and us ) needs to concentrate on the mid-terms while expanding the base as much as possible. And no-one should be advocating for rash actions, purge this agency, fire that guy, declassify that. Unlike (D)ummycrats, all Republican Presidents essentially are Prime Ministers serving at the whims of Parliament despite our Constitution and explicit warnings of the Founders, and none more than Trump who is not a member of either party in reality.

Well the faces may change but the (D) label won’t. Not unless they resign in disgrace or die in office in “red” states that have a governor who has the courage to appoint a replacement of the other party ( and who isn’t a RINO in sheep’s clothing ).

This year 2018, is an optimal season for Senate pickups with a huge number of (D)ummies defending seats ( and 2020 is sadly the reverse case ). The President has to light a fire under Ronna McRomney’s ass to finance all those challengers, and he must get the people motivated to send support independently as well as fly into those states and campaign personally.

The few pickups we can expect will obviously help even though the existing (R)INO ratio is so overwhelming ( and in some cases getting worse, there is no doubt Hatch is better than Mitt Romney every day of the week ). But the sad truth is that there exists a non-zero probability that the enemy can assemble an impeachment/conviction coalition if they chose to. It would be unprecedented in USA history ( never happened, Johnson and Clinton acquitted, Nixon resigned ) and create the highest likelihood of civil war since Fort Sumter but that doesn’t mean they wouldn’t try given their maniacal insanity and if they have whatever they consider good reason.

This is the actual pair of handcuffs that President Trump wears while all the know-nothings try to tell him what to do. The knife edge lies in the fact that a mere 218 House and 67 Senate votes is the shortcut to Euroweenie Democratic Socialism or Civil War and the enemy prefers the former, while we prefer the latter. The undecideds would decide what we end up with ( 2016 popular was 46% Trump, 54% other ). The fate of the country, and the entire world really rests upon Trump’s shoulders.

Crimea was another problem Turks used to like in Crimea they were shipped out and Russians replaced them. Staling was brutal not only his people but also to the countries he took over after WWII.
Ukraine is a tragedy of Stalin’s making by infiltrating Russians who never integrated into the Ukrainian culture.
We know all about it in California how the Mexicans are taking over and not integrate. This is a disaster in the making.

Gunny, try this guy … Lubos Motl, a Czech physicist who when not splitting atoms and lecturing on string theory spends his spare time discussing geopolitics in his neighborhood.

In case it doesn’t resolve, that link is meant to launch a Google search on his site, literally this: “site:https://motls.blogspot.com/ ukraine”

I’m ashamed to admit that I initially fell for our USA propaganda on the Crimea “invasion” spewing from Obama and the neocons ( that should have been enough clue right there ) and stupidly bought the lies that it was another Sudetenland. It is not, and the people in the neighborhood like this Czech genius would recognize something that was exactly done to them. I have lots of posts from that era that I regret. But I will never make the mistake of trusting the deep state and neocons ever again.

Crimea was deeded to Kiev by Khrushchev in a secret act of destalinization, in short, a slight liberalization of the regime and an olive branch to Ukraine which was nearly destroyed by Stalin ( a Georgian ) 20 years earlier. It would be a little like Obama giving Texas to Mexico despite what the Texans would want ( not a perfect analogy since Texans would capture and give Obama to Mexico instead ).

The better analogy is that our USA ruling class is playing another dangerous game similar to the Cuban Missile crisis ( imagine the Soviets buying their way into Mexico and arming them and causing a near WWIII level crisis ). Except that in 1962 as turns out, Khrushchev had a sane goal we did not know about ( getting our missiles out of Turkey ). The neocons here have no such goal, at all. It is brinksmanship and they should all be swinging from yardarms.

Can you imagine any ONE of them taking the heat like Trump? Rubio? Graham? Fiorina? Maybe Rand, maybe Huckabee. I am not sure 2 of them combined could have withstood this onslaught of communist radicals.
Trump alone stands in the ring. Its time for these ‘others’ to come to his aide. Especially Rubio.

Just read other thread, on amlo, new pres. of Mexico.
Your post tied in with my thinking, if I mite venture to elaborate.
As Sundance regularly repeats, it’s all about the $. There are globalists, and Nationalist Populists. Fully named it would be ECONOMIC globalists, and ECONOMIC Nationalist Populists.

Within Economic Nationalist Populists, there are liberal and conservative versions.

I THINK AMLO may be a Nationalist Populist, although liberal. Much like Bernie Sanders.

VSG is obviously conservative or right wing Nationalist Populist, as are new leader in Italy, Poland, Hungary, brexiters, gal in France, etc.

The left and right N.P.’s have some fundamental differences, without a doubt. But, they do have a common enemy; the GLOBALISTS.

For instance, while they have many differences, Bernie and SIT could find more to agree on, than either could find agreement on with Hillary.

To some degree, I feel like our old terminology and thinking is not up to the task of adequately framing the debate in the new world we find ourselves in.

Time sounds all heels, and I’m sure I’m time this will resolve.

I’ve been reading a book about Gertrude Bell https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gertrude_Bell

This is who she was FYI:

Gertrude Margaret Lowthian Bell, CBE (14 July 1868 – 12 July 1926) was an English writer, traveller, political officer, administrator, and archaeologist[2] who explored, mapped, and became highly influential to British imperial policy-making due to her knowledge and contacts, built up through extensive travels in Greater Syria, Mesopotamia, Asia Minor, and Arabia.[3] Along with T. E. Lawrence, Bell helped support the Hashemite dynasties in what is today Jordan as well as in Iraq.

She played a major role in establishing and helping administer the modern state of Iraq, utilising her unique perspective from her travels and relations with tribal leaders throughout the Middle East. During her lifetime she was highly esteemed and trusted by British officials and exerted an immense amount of power. She has been described as “one of the few representatives of His Majesty’s Government remembered by the Arabs with anything resembling affection”

I love the Brit shows… just subscribed to Acorn TV and I’m soooo excited to have such a bounty of new (to me) stuff… (apparently I don’t get “out much”… did not know about Acorn!)

I was so excited when I found Acorn last year… it was like a miracle! By the way, you can buy a 1yr subscription for the price of 10mths. I love that you can watch all the old shows – from a time when quality mattered.

You might look into Kanopy. It’s a free service that a lot of universities and libraries are using to stream video content. ( for instance, with a library card number you can stream 5 titles a month. They have a lot of uninteresting content, but also a lot of exeptional videos that can be viewed on a computer or through a Roku box onto a TV.

Roku itself is a pretty good option for free material (from lots of different providers) , too.

Used to have Netflix but no more. Never had cable. I just go to my local library. Paid for by my tax dollars. Get any DVD you want, keep it for a week. No issue at all.

I get amazon prime because I already subscribe for the free shipping. I find their movie selection pretty limited (could just be my particular taste in movies), and wouldn’t find it cost effective just for the streaming service.

Yes, and I want to stress that others might find the selection more appealing. It is kind of personal taste. I think people can get a listing of their offerings on the amazon site to help make a decision.

I’m enjoying the CTH crowd-sourcing so many news streams in a way that allows thoughtful dialog and consideration. Feels like going to a top university some days.

Look at the dumb sign that says “Investigate Trump”

Idiot… you’ve been doing that for more than two years – officially for over a year and a half.
“Resist”? What? Peace, jobs, higher take-home, lower taxes?
How can you roam about every day? Living in Mom’s home?

FTA – Between 5,000 to 7,000 service members are expected to march in President Donald Trump´s military parade this fall. My husband and I are going to this parade. He is retired military serving 23 years. My father served in WWII, Battle of the Bulge. When I first heard that this parade was on, I said we have to go to this. We immediately booked a hotel room before they are sold out. Other family members are now attending as well. The only problem is that they changed the date by a day. It will make the logistics tricky for us.
