Pennsylvania Special Election – CD18 Rick Saccone (R) vs Conor Lamb (D)…

The special election in Pennsylvania Congressional District 18 is today.  The polls close at 8:00pm EST.  The district political registration heavily favors the Democrat Conor Lamb with a +50,000 advantage in Democrat registered voters.  However, President Trump carried the mostly blue-collar district in 2016, and he supports Republican Rick Saccone.

Generally speaking the Democrat Conor Lamb is favored; and with that outcome in mind the media began using this likely Democrat win to position an anti-Trump narrative.  To counter that narrative President Trump went to PA and campaigned with Rick Saccone.  Both RNC and DNC have spent a lot of money on this temporary district race.

Democrat Conor Lamb is attempting to revive the extinct “blue-dog” model and has refuted Nancy Pelosi along with the far-left-wing of the Democrat party; while emphasizing his strong labor union relationships.  On the Republican side, the district is Pro-Trump on the national economics but candidate Rick Saccone has strongly supported ‘right-to-work’ policies which the local unions do not like.  So it’s a weird election.

CNN had segment where they were at warehouse in Allegheny county counting absentee votes. Estimates of about 3500 ballots. To be counted by midnight and added only when count complete. This plays into a close race like this too.

How much more proof do we need to understand that the RNC can raise money but can’t win elections?

This could have been a easy race. They needed to tear Lamb into lambchops. Instead, they moaned about their own candidate.

How does a district go brain dead in one year? These are Trump MAGA voters. Yet they empower the Dems to build a majority. That will lead to catastrophe fro DJT.

No Brains. Simply brain dead political operatives in the RNC.

They are not running like candidate Trump, and what he did was a paradigm changer. He had a new template that works and they don’t see it or don’t want too. It is relentless campaigning, command of social media, and use of twitter for starters. We need a Brad Pascale / Candidate Trump platform being utilized in all races now and in November. Anything else is a dereliction of duty, and if that means Ms Romney goes than so be it…

We have collectively underestimated how important it is to have events (yes, even in the media) driving turnout and flipping voters. Hillary was unavoidably bad as a candidate, it showed on TV, and Trump was amazing; the media couldn’t hide it even though they tried.

We need indictments and trials of the corrupt Democrats and full exposure of how the Scheme Team (Hillary, Obama, and hangers-on) conspired against PDJT and the American people. And we need it before the midterms–at least, indictments handed down and trials on the calendar.

This is what it will take to put the Dems on defense in November. I don’t see anything short of this working, unfortunately.

Plus the media blackout on anything positive for DJT and the magnifying glass on any perceived negative has to stop. Not sure what can be done, but it can’t continue with our expectation to gain any traction. I guarantee you that if the media coverage was truly neutral, DJT would have approval ratings in the 60’s.

It’s not Armageddon. It’s a seat that makes no difference in the current Congress, and a seat that won’t exist in the next one due to the massive redistricting coming.

For petes sake, the POTUS visited the district, yet could not motivate his followers like in 2016. There are 5-7% of his past followers who have “concerns” or promises that have not been met.

They couldn’t sell Trump because they didn’t want him. They can’t sell themselves in future elections because the Democrats are using everything as an attack on Trump. If they don’t understand, support and be willing to explain Trump and attack the falsehoods they will lose next fall.

That’s the unfortunate truth. GOPe just isn’t getting our message. Jeez-louise, just look at the pix of the candidates. Which one looks like the dynamic guy you want representing you? Which one looks like a heftier, less well groomed Ms. Lindsay Graham? Many voters know or respond to little more than that. Sad fact, but fact nonetheless. Only saving grace is it’s still a super close race where the result almost doesn’t matter. So campaign resources should be husbanded for the next, post redistricting election, when it will matter for a full term.

Actually, the media was saying that Lamb was the huge favorite to win the District with polls pulling in his favor. He should be winning by a landslide because the District according to SD is +50,000 Ds. The fact that it is this close and that Saccone may actually pull it out does NOT bode well for the Democrats IMHO!

Lamb had millions of dollars pouring in from the outside. People were getting bombarded with ads, phone calls, etc. for Lamb and it is this close in a Dem district? This will not have any bearing on Rosey and Mueller.

      This x1000.

      Here is the roadmap:

      — Dems run stealth candidates in close races. No one says the “I” word. Winning formula.
      — Mueller releases report sometime in December or early January.
      — “Grave concerns” and “troubling accusations” follow
      — House conducts Impeachment proceedings all of 2019.
      — No legislation is passed.
      — All exec orders frozen by courts (see “grave concerns” and “troubling accusations”)
      — No SCOTUS appointments.
      — Impeachment early 2020
      — Primaries

There is no wall. There is no restriction on illegal immigration. No infrastructure, no trade war, no tax cuts, nothing at all. Just day after day of impeachment and then 2020.

So, it’s not like anything is riding on the outcome this November or anything,

Posted this on an older page of the open thread but want to make sure it was seen by many.

Shane Reeves won. This was NOT a MAGA victory! I worked hard to defeat him. Would have been better if the D had won. I did not vote D, did not work for a D victory but was optimistically hopeful for a write in success although I knew it was a pipe dream.

If he would have list the balance in the TN Senate would have been 27 R v. 6 D so was a safe seat to loose to the Dems instead of giving the GOPe/Uniparty more power. His loss would have made zero difference in up coming votes before the TN Senate.

This guy is RINO and a liar. His campaign was anchored on screaming Christainity but he admitted twisting the truth against his primary opponent because that is just what you do in politics. I am tired of cheap identity politics – coraling me into voting for the RINO/GOPe based on my being a conservative Christain. He did not put forward where he stood on the issues but hid behind smears, lies and empty political platitudes. I questioned and found out where he stands and it’s ugly.

He is on record talking about how being involved in politics will help his business and he is excited about that. His actual motive?

He is a huge advocate of gov in our healthcare but with a “conservative” twist, ala Romney.

He took money from abortion lobbyist.

He took an endorsement from the Teacer’s Union in the primary and they sent out mailers for him (TEA here in TN, an extension of the national union)

He is pro amnesty. He is against deportation. He wants illegal children to stay…and their parents. He is for giving any illegal who has a job and wants to be citizen a pathway to citizenship. He is for giving state funded higher Ed to TN illegal alien students.

He promised not to embarrass his district by being on the front pages of the newspaper…when a conservative is being critisized on the front pages of the liberal Tennesean I am proud of him, not embarrassed!!! He brags about being a Moderate Republican that won’t be far right or extreme on the issues, but will get along. Yuck!!

He is aligned with and celebrated by the Moderate TN GOP. They have congratulated each other and are excited about next defeating Marsha Blackburn and Diane Black. They are NOT MAGA, NOT for President Trump and this is NOT a victory we really ought to celebrate!

The GOPe is alive and well in Tennessee. 😦

Interesting, but irrelevant. That happens pretty often, even in big elections.

Famous examples include Ross Perot and Ralph Nader. Naturally Bush41 and Algore falsely claimed that those were their votes and consequently they should have won. But what actually happens is that the 3rd choice candidate didn’t take votes from another candidate at all, instead they inspired those voters to not stay home who never were going to vote for either candidate under any circumstances. In other words, many, if not most Perot and Nader voters would not have bothered showing up if their candidate had not been on the ballot.

That thinking shown by Bush41 and Algore demonstrates precisely what is wrong with ruling class bureaucrats. They think they own us and when they are rejected they blameshift away from their own failings.

( NOTE: not commenting about Saccone here, AFAIK he has made no such false argument, it is likely his supporters might though in the event he loses. Having said that, Saccone will probably win the recount if he doesn’t win the vote outright after absentees are tallied ).

Hmmm, .5% recount trigger, current spread .4%. Looks almost scripted.
