Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.

For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

    Mat 7:24
¶ Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: Mat 7:25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
    Mat 7:26
¶ And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: Mat 7:27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
    Mat 7:28
¶ And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine: Mat 7:29 For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.

getting ready to watch this one 🙂

the castle 2 parts = a tad too much of a witchy feel to them.

I like Gothic but not the witchy brew.

Yes. I liked the tour (I like museums like this), but I could have done without the narration on those two from him.

do you know the narrator’s name ?

what an interesting & amusing chap 🙂

his voice and the suspenseful sound background really make these gothic mystery vignettes very entertaining.

I also enjoy the visual photos…with one little something animated…like a flickering candle or a little cat on the pavement twitching its tail.

          still hooked !

No. He refers to himself as Oddie, but I think that’s just in association with his channel.

I totally agree with all of your points! I think that’s why I like these so much. It’s not just the story which I find fascinating, it’s also his perfect music, voice, and those extra little touches that make the videos addictive.

He has other videos about haunted houses, one about his own experience, but those aren’t really my thing.

Somebody came to my house to test the water last week. It was a freebie and I took it up. The guy doing the testing said that his children had all been suffering from dire cases of eczema (5 dermatologists, hundreds of dollars worth of cortisone creams etc.) when someone sold him on a water purification system.

After Mr. Water Tester had his water purification system installed, within 6 months the family eczema went away, and he went into water purification sales. And now has 9 children…with no eczema. He said that a combination of massive chlorine plus other pollutants in city water causes a variety of skin and kidney issues.

I’m not ready to plunk down $7000 on a water purification system, but the idea warrants closer scrutiny.

I realize that the campaign for President is long past and that today’s them is Memo Day but I finished reading “Let Trump Be Trump” was a fun read and I recommend it!

It is light reading, written in a casual, almost conversational style by 2 non writers so there are parts that are not particularly well written and are it can be confusing. However, it was not written as a intellectual treatment of the campaign or as a textbook. It is lively, fast paced and enjoyable as well as full of interesting insights, behind the scenes info as seen from the view point of the authors as well as information that helps me understand the first year of the Trump Presidency.

I have often heard the slow pace of appointments blamed on a slower than usual pace of recommendations. The Trump Administration had reasons for a slower than usual pace of recommendations.

    p. 244-5
“By November 2016, the Obama administration had used up about 78 percent of the White House budge for its fiscal year, which begins and ends at the beginning of May. meaning the Trump transition didn’t have much to work with, and it left us only 22% of the budget, or about two and a half months of money, to pay federal salaries and upkeep costs from January 20 until the end of April. That mean, among other things, that we would have to go light on the lower-office appointments, at least for a little while.”

This quote is an example of new info (at least to me and a peek at the behind the scenes events. Also, it is an example of the sometimes confusing writing style. I am not clear as to whether the Obama admin had spent 78% of their budget as of Nov or by Nov had scheduled all but 78% to be spent by their exit on Jan 20. Either there was only 22% left as of Nov so even less left by Jan 20 or by Nov it was already planned that there would only be 22% of the budge left as of Jan 20.

Either way, the Trump Admin entered the Oval Office with less than a proportionate amount of the budget to get through until May 1. They should have had a little over 30% to fund Jan. 20 – May 1 and at most had 22%. It is unclear but still interesting and provides insight into one reason for the slower pace of the Trump Administration’s appointments. Was it public knowledge that the Obama Admin had overspent the budget leaving the entering Trump Admin with less money than they ought to have had and therefore at a disadvantage?

Really enjoyed the book. Easy, interesting read!

Another interesting tidbit from “Let Trump Be Trump”, discussed on p. 244-5:

President Trump did not allow anyone to talk or to plan for after the election. He had, and he wanted others to have, total laser focus on the election and Winning. He didn’t want to jinx the situation. And we know that he believes that one often makes their own luck. If focus and time were changed it might have “jinx” the situation but really that would have been a a result of the change of focus.

      p. 245 “…He had a point. Just as the 2012 campaign was heating up, Mitt Romney had decided he would take two weeks off to focus on the plans that he would implement if—or, in his mind, when—he won. Trump, on the other hand, wouldn’t take so much as a minute off to focus on hi spots-victory plans. And he wouldn’t let anyone else who worked for him do it either. In fact, until Chris Christie, who was in charge of the transition team during the campaign, began raising funds, Trump wasn’t even aware that he had a full-time, functioning transition team.”

The book goes on to say that beginning a transition team and plan is mandated by a federal statue so the campaign knew they Had so spend some time on it but the campaign in general was unaware and not distracted from thinking about post election events and plans.

Wise to focus on winning first! Good read!

Maybe OT. Was watching a cricket game today. South Africa vs India. India won the game (still four to go in a series of five)
When one of the Indians slogged an impossible ball for any batter to even complentate, he surprised all, and earned maximum points of six off one ball.
This one act sparked a revival in the rest of team, that went on to win.
The commentator remarked that ‘when the impossible seems forgone, the opposite may be true due to a simple change of belief and morale’
This reminded me of the journey of your PDJT.

    Where is

    • That’s such a pet peeve (haha) of mine! We raise and train service dogs – not “comfort animals”, “therapy companions” etc. but certified SERVICE animals, to fulfill physical needs of individuals with all sorts of genuine disabilities. It takes about two years, and as much as $60k per animal, which are then provided (much more cheaply) to those qualified to receive them under the ADA. This is the group I currently work with:

An increasing number of whiners are ordering vests from the Internet and pretending their untrained pets are entitled to accompany them to dinner and on transport. One of our young trainee pups was attacked last year in a Denny’s by a guy’s pit bull (wearing a “comfort animal” vest), and was so fearful afterward he failed the training. I HATE people who skirt laws this way. I have no sympathy for their “anxieties”. Xanax is cheap. They can take it like any other patient.

Yes, my son had a sports coach that had a service dog who could sense when he was about to have a post war related episode…unbelievable the crap this man received when he’d go in certain arenas for having his clearly marked dog. Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.

Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.

Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.

Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.

We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
