House Intelligence Committee Releases Transcript of Monday Night “Memo Meeting”…

On Monday night January 29th, 2018, the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence met to discuss the release of a classified committee memo that outlined corruption within the U.S. Justice Department, and how the DOJ/FBI used fraudulent material to apply for FISA surveillance warrants on American citizens.

Below is the committee transcript from that meeting. Democrats (minority) opposed the release of the Intelligence Memo; Republicans (majority) supported it. The minority wanted to distribute a memo of their own; the majority supported the request of the minority so long as they followed the same process as previous.  (link to pdf)

294 Responses to House Intelligence Committee Releases Transcript of Monday Night “Memo Meeting”…

The FBI sent 5 agents over to the White House this week to alter the House Intel FISA memo.

Lou Dobbs: Our chief correspondent at the White House, John Roberts, telling us that the new version of the memorandum has been altered in some ways by the White House review. Five professional members of the FBI were at the White House to meet with the Chief of Staff John Kelly to got through that.

After learning about this latest development Judicial Watch Chief Investigator Chris Farrell told Lou Dobbs the FBI is threatening the president.

Chris Farrell: Let me boil it down, real simple, the FBI is threatening the President of the United States. They put him in a corner and said we really don’t want you to reveal all the criminality that is going on in the organization… This is a grave threat on the Constitution.

I dunno. Dobbs gets things wrong from time to time, and as for GatewayPundit, well let’s just say that they’re sometimes fun to read. Nunez has a write-protected copy of his own memo, and there must be dozens of other copies of it out there as well. Color me skeptical.

If true, this takes a huge chunk out of Schiff’s argument against releasing the memo. Bet it’s not tho. Trump can play their game better than they can. Is POTUS re-engineering their engineered narrative?

How can the FBI alter the document? They are not the owners of the doc…..if it was altered then surely that means it would have to go back to the committee for a revote on a release……?? Something fishy going on here…..

      • The FBI can say that they need to change this or that because of “sources and methods”. That’s all they need to do to justify refusing to release information. They’ve always gotten away with withholding information from the public in this manner.

someone somewhere is watching, listening and taking names, that’s another 5, pure counter intelligence on the DOJ and FBI as they go about trying to get out from under their corruption.

      • cali says:

Then there is this as reported by Q: Seen (7) house members, three (3) senate members and three (3) private contractors went to the SCIF/secure room and using McCabe’s log-on to read the FISA memo. They did not have security clearance to do so. Q asked: “How is that possible”.
In other words Schiff took others there to read this memo despite knowing that the contractors had no security clearance to do so.
Of course the media would not report such a breach would they? As Q always says: “We see you, we hear you” followed by ‘these people are stupid’.
I suppose we haven’t heard the last of that illegal action by Schiff et al.

  2. JFC now we’re getting memos ABOUT the memo? Stop dragging it out!

    Sundance has another thread up.

Sundance has the best blood hound nose around. Brandon L.van Grack is one of a “small group” of lawyers running constant interference, in case justice might be served. Sundance is tracking them six ways to Sunday.

This reminds me that one of TheConservativeTreehouse’s amazing, talented, intelligent commenters listed the names of all those Mueller had hired to “assist him” in his investigative duties as Special Counsel.

This list practically took my breath away — the depth of “guilty” in support of Clinton, at the very least, from many years back. The lot of them. A stacked Kangeroo Court. Why be so obvious, I wondered.? Well, now we know. This is their last stand, and stand they will until they fall.

I hope all the names, small and large group, are exposed and they all are perp walked in front of the cameras.

That memo must be released in the morning.
General Kelly should have kicked those five FBI the hell out of the office.
All these “officials” who swear to uphold the Constitution melt under pressure.
It’s very easy. The memo has to be out tomorrow, un-redacted, unmodified.

The Bureau is a cesspool and doesn’t get better if crimes and corrupt men are protected.

And if RR is trying to cover his ass, it’s too damn late.

Obviously, there are new threats from the same sources as in 2016-2017–the IC.

4 Star General from the Marines, over 4 decades of service, and he blinks?

Where the Hell are the heroes?

We saw great Americans last night. They all did the right thing. It’s that easy.

If the memo is a summary of Fisa app, then sources and methods are known. SD has put forth the memo is something more than the dossier in which sources and methods might be needed to protect. Hehe, maybe General Kelly is part of that sting of identifying items we don’t know about to this point. Just something I’m thinking about.

    • Oldschool says:

Totally agree Bull, especially with your point on an unaltered memo. It’s a product produced by congressional investigation and oversight. Let them have full ownership on this.

FIRST OFF…THAT was work reading the transcript. OH. MY. GOODNESS!

SECONDLY…without doubt Chairman Nunes has been blessed with the patience of Job, just as there is no doubt that if I’d been on that committee the Sergeant-At-Arms would have had to stand beside my chair to keep me from giving Schiff a swift kick in the schiff more than once. OH. MY. GOODNESS!

Schiff: “We cannot count on this President to put the national interest over his personal interest. I would hope that we could count on this committee, though, to put the national interest over anything else.” OH. MY. GOODNESS!

Talk about the lefties playing to their brainwashed minions! All that DIP put into the record showing their DEEP concern for national security had me seeing DEEP red! They know the record will be made public. Total, thorough-going hypocrites! OH. MY. GOODNESS!

THIRDLY…Can anyone state definitively why two men voted “no response” at all during this proceeding? Principled? Cowardly? Perhaps the good citizens of Ohio’s 10th District need to vote OUT Michael Turner! Perhaps the good citizens of Texas’ 23rd District need to vote OUT Will Hurd! OH. MY. GOODNESS!

At the State of the Union, the President presented his 4 pillars of immigration policy. He asked for both sides to agree and accept. What if… He tells the dems that he won’t release the memo if they accept his plan and in addition call off the Muelller probe???

  9. dawg says:

The memo is a Legislative document. The President doesnt have the power to alter it. He can block it, then the House can override. But thats not going to happen.

    Read the FBIs statement again:
“grave concerns about material omissions of fact that fundamentally impact the memos accuracy”

Nothing about objecting to its release. Nothing about compromising sources or methods or national security.

Could be seen as request to declassify more material so as to support the memo, which would give its accuracy “more impact”.

Hannity reported tonight that he has a source telling him that the debate in the WH is just this, whether or not to release additional, supporting documents along WITH the memo.

Prediction: POTUS Trump drops the memo nuke tomorrow morning.

I certainly hope so dawg. We are either going to have a constitutional republic or one that is of an autocratic nature. The first gives us the freedoms that come from the Bill of Rights and the Constitution; the latter ensures all of those freedoms being taken away by the Deep State and their lackeys. This battle started two and a half years ago and it is coming to a head one way or another. I believe the other side is going to be in a world of hurt and we will come out victorious.

Trump is a master showman. He has used his enemies to generate an intense amount of buzz about the memo so that two, three or more times the number people will read it than otherwise would have when it is finally released. He has made a complete end run around the main stream media, so their attempts to deep-six the release will keep very few eyes away from learning the truth about the attempted coup against Trump.

  12. All Too Much says:

Excellent analysis by Imperiorator_Rex of Wray’s concern that the memo is incomplete, or missing facts. – He did it to create more storm with the endgame of releasing all the documents. Its what Schiff wanted, asked for, and Wray today says the memo is incomplete.

They are setting it up for everything to come out.

Hoo boy Schiff is boiling up every box of spaghetti at his house and frantically throwing it at the wall to see whether it will stick!

First it was “the FBI guys rewrote the memo.” No, if you watch the Dobbs piece again, he never said that. I agree that the little “visit” from the FBI to Kelly was strongarm tactics with them, and agree that it was threatening – but no one caved to them. No reason to.

Then it suddenly becomes “Nunes rewrote the memo.” If Nunes hasn’t already gone off to the sleep of the just, I’m sure we will soon see a big laugh out of him very this very soon.

By dawn it will probably be “I, Adam Schiff, rewrote the memo! I broke into the SKIF when no one was looking! Bwahahahahaha!”

He knows what morning will bring..

Another bit of information. This is the only place I’ve read this, posted a month ago, so it could mean a position at the WH. Hmm. Disclosure — I’m not a Gowdy fan, but, if should this turn out to be true, things could be different (excerpts follow, emphases mine):

‘One of the most difficult parts of Trey Gowdy’s job as congressional inquisitor is security clearance. When investigating people who held titles like “Secretary of State” and “Special Aide to the President” or even “President,” Gowdy runs into the issue of security clearance all the time …

‘President Trump has just removed that blockade. By executive order, Trey Gowdy has been given the highest security clearance possible. He could now sit in on presidential intel briefings if he felt he needed to.

‘The first thing Gowdy did with his newfound ability to investigate is to re-open the Benghazi case. There was a 6-hour window that Clinton never answered for because she said she was in meetings with the president and joint chiefs that were highly classified. Gowdy will begin his investigation by revisiting those discussions and finding out exactly why four men were left to die.

‘Next, with his newfound freedom of information, he’ll look into just how far Obama went when he sent weapons and cash to the Muslim Brotherhood after they took Egypt by force.

‘Nothing about this wonderful new power is going to be good for Obama, Clinton or any other Demonrat that thinks they’re above the law.’

Now, thinking of his lengthy message and even Oscar-award-type thanks to his entire family, he could be up for something big — with the President’s blessing.

Frustrating as it is that the memo has not yet been released, and despite the fact that delay has given Schiff et al time to denigrate it, the Kabuki theatre is necessary to get the left stream media to cover it, and for Twitter to be all over it.
