I’m happy to report that there IS a type of Head of Household filing status – the base rate is 24k for married, then states a 75% of 24k if single with qualified dependent, 50% if single

This is shockingly different than the three bracket greatly reduced rates plan proposed in Nov!, still seven brackets and only reduced by 2% points is very little difference.

        • I expect this was the best they could do because each congress & senate critter wanted to be able to point to the special interest group he/she had protected. I think the first time is the hardest. It hasn’t been done in 40 years. After the ecomony continues to improve my bet is that they will revisit with a stronger majority & kill the death tax, and make deeper cuts. Ryan says next year they will be working on entitlement reform and that will give them funds to work with.

I’m kind of leaning that way myself. I really thought reducing the brackets was high on the list of mandatory changes. This doesn’t seem to be doing much for most of us, but maybe the corporate rate reductions will make up for it down the road. Just have to wait and see I guess. Not overly excited about this bill though.

The “number of brackets” argument is meaningless.
Don’t think something is simpler, or better, merely because there are fewer brackets.
Truth is, with fewer brackets, we create “cliffs”, which is bad.
For instance, if we had 10% rate to 50K, but jumped to 20% rate at 51K, the individual would decline the raise.
            See what I mean?
More brackets creates hills not cliffs.

Jfk Files: This is the last release planned by the National Archives for this year. At this point, with the exception of 86 record identification numbers where additional research is required by the National Archives and the other agencies, all documents subject to section 5 of the JFK Act have been released either in full or in part. Any information subject to section 5 of the Act, which has been redacted from documents in any of the six public releases this year, remains subject to further review by the agencies and the National Archives, in accordance with the President’s direction. The National Archives will release additional documents in 2018 based on the outcome of the reviews conducted pursuant to the President’s direction.

Theyre still widely promoting “global warming/climate change” here in CA of course. The new thing is a late santa ana windy fall with severely dry winter while the east coast has extra wet weather. I guess youre in the safe zone.
Also fyi, I read that the mileage tax has passed our state transportation committee and if implemented they may demand to track us via cell phones. No one can afford to live near the coast, everyone commutes 1-3 hr each way, mostly the remaining middle class. Guess who is gonna pay that? And then taxes go into general fund…. signatures are being collected for ending our new gas tax et al, but there is no reason for conservatives who can leave to stay. All the libs that left can come back to this utopia…😡😕

I am genuinely sorry. I can hardly bear to think what they have done to California and I hope we can recover it in the future. My state is nearly as bad.

I am getting a lot of Travis Allen for governor emails, but havent had time to research him yet. I really would like to split the state in 3, as hard as that hurts. Too much power in too few hands, and ibthink that gigantic sucking sound from your taxes that flows into our state may decrease with beyter managed smaller California states. Maybe.🤔

Never forget it took Reagan two tries to get everything he wanted with tax reform and there is nothing stopping Republicans from improving it further if they can retain/increase control of the House/Senate.

Under the federal records act official communication is not subject to release without Agency approval.

The texts are the property of the FBI. If they were released with permission, that authorization would be documented.

DOJ had ownership of all written materials of all agents during their working hours and done within the offices under the DOJ.

Otherwise, an agent that wanted to text classified information and send it to his Russian mistress-spy would only need to bring a “burner phone” in to the office, text classified info to her, and then claim that was his private info and they could not look at it nor tell anyone what it said. Nope: property of DOJ.

I dare say that if an agent decided to take a pen and write some communication on toilet paper while he was taking his “daily constitutional” in the office men’s room, that toilet paper too, is property of the DOJ.

      Correct me if I’m wrong.

If those texts, done within the office of the DOJ by persons at work for the DOJ are, as I suspect they are, property of DOJ, then DOJ can give the info to the press if the DOJ so chooses.

Think if an agent brought in his own personal paper and pen to write this crap while he was on the job it would belong to him alone, just because it was his own pen and his own paper? Well a phone is a tool just like a pen and paper.

Besides that the FBI “belongs” to the DOJ.

‘Free-for-all’ at U.S. border reveals disturbing trend
Agents ‘shocked’ by high numbers of illegal crossers from 2 specific countries

It’s no secret the number of apprehensions fell sharply in the first three months of President Trump’s administration, bottoming out in April as the human traffickers feared being caught and prosecuted by an administration that talked tough on the need to staunch the flow of illegal migration.

But in May the number of illegal crossings started rising again, according to immigration experts and border-patrol agents in the field.

“Every time Congress or the White House begins to talk about amnesty, the border crossings increase. That’s what we see happening now,” Gheen said. “Our border patrol agents are woefully understaffed, and we don’t have a wall, so the border is still wide open to them, and the politicians are talking about amnesty again in Washington so everyone hears that and they say ‘oh boy, we need to get there now.’”

As WND reported last week, a group of 34 GOP Congressman sent a letter to House Speaker Paul Ryan demanding that amnesty for DACA illegals be passed by Christmas.

“This is the Trump-McConnell-Ryan amnesty plan,” Gheen said. “It’s having a devastating effect on our border, just as this type of talk did under the Obama administration.”

James Rosen just reported on Laura Ingraham’s show:
During Don Jr.’s closed door meeting, they found it strange that Adam Schiff kept leaving and returning. It happened several times. Only afterwards when they got their cellphones back and discovered CNN’s fake email story did they become suspicious (rightly so) that Schiff was the leaker.
Hats off to the Refuge Master!!
