Role Model Roofers – Maine Resident Catches Three Roofers Silently Honoring National Anthem…

This is America… it just is.

As the national anthem played at the start of a high school football game in Maine, one of the spectators noticed three roofers off in the distance.  She quickly grabbed her camera to take a picture.

Just three ordinary guys, ordinary blue-collar Americans, doing what ordinary American people do.   STORY HERE  The reality of American patriotism is exactly why the NFL is beginning to see this:

            Interesting PCD,

I was born in Scotland, and have never heard of Mr Tytler.( a Scot.) I was a poor student, but none the less I did ok in history.
Interesting too, that he was alive at the same time as your founding fathers. For what it is worth, in one of the quotes he apparently says democracies are destroyed from within.

Interesting that maybe that is why your founding fathers established a Constitutional Republic as opposed to a democracy.

It has been a great day. PDJT had McConnell on the carpet for all the nation to see and thanks to PCD I have learned something.

            Cheers.

It appears Tytler had a dim view of Democratic Republics as well. I didn’t see on Wiki any thoughts regarding a Constitutional Republic though.

His general thoughts on initial virtuous patriotism and its decline associated with a nation’s own success though are dead on.

Oppulence seems regarded as the cliff’s edge of the slippery slope all semi-utopian forms of government are initially founded on.

Great find! Thanks to Peg and DeKester!

The left thinks they are “winning.” But some creative destruction is necessary for the Republic to survive. It is either that or full on revolution which would be immensely more destructive. When it comes down to it, just what is so precious about the NFL and their “tax” protected interests that do nothing for the country but put binkies in the mouths of so many. So are true sports fans but so many are there just for the bread and circuses. “Hey, time to partaay!” Yeah, right! While the entertainers give you, the one footing the bill, the middle finger and claim they are some kind of social paragon of virtue and use their stage, which is not even really theirs, to protest. I say, “Go pound sand you ignorant jerks!”

I was forced to research, and glad for it!

“Bread and circuses” is metonymic for a superficial means of appeasement. In the case of politics, the phrase is used to describe the generation of public approval, not through exemplary or excellent public service or public policy, but through diversion; distraction; or the mere satisfaction of the immediate, shallow requirements of a populace, as an offered “palliative”

When Michael Bennett went public with a partial tape and statement full of lies about what happened to him in Las Vegas in August, the team could have done the responsible thing and deferred comment until the case had been properly investigated. Instead, they jumped onto his “bash the police” bandwagon and ended up showing their blatant, blinding hatred to the whole community. Even in the liberal La-La land that Seattle has become the Hawks are losing fans and falling apart. Can’t wait to see the whole league crash and burn!

But frankly the NFL has grown way, way beyond what the average person has time for.

Games on Sunday and Monday and Thursday that last almost 4 hours long.

          We have lives to live.

Jobs and families and things to do besides watching endless professional athletes play football or basketball or hockey or baseball.

Rush said that the NFL is suppose to be a “respite”, a break from the rigors of life.

But really the NFL is beginning to intrude on our lives to the point that we almost have no time for anything else.

Watching other people do things well is a lot of fun but so is actually doing things ourselves.

Many people have commented that they are enjoying getting out and doing things with their families besides sitting in from of the TV for 12 to 15 hours a week watching the NFL.

They are rediscovering that real life can be a lot of fun.

    NFL = Negro Football Association?

It is pathetic to see the players auger the sport into the ground after so many African American players worked and fought so hard for so long to be accepted in the NFL based on their ability as players rather than the color of their skin. Many, many African American athletes were enabled to get an education funded by sholarships and get established financially by playing in the NFL for a few years before becoming professionals or businessmen.

People have decided they have better things to do with their time. They’ve left and aren’t coming back. It can take years to build a fan base, but it can be destroyed overnight. Some of us who only peeked in from the fringe since pro sports turned into thugs and me, me, me now pay no attention to the games.

Limbaugh is holding these NFL players way too high up in esteem.

He seems to thing that this taking a knee is the only thing that is killing the NFL and does not understand that the fans were already sick and tired of the criminal thuggish behavior of the players.

We were fed up with the DUIs and the drug arrests and the out of wedlock kids and the wife beaters and the rapes and the assaults.

Limbaugh sits in the interview with Hannity and neither one of them even mentions the atrocious criminal behavior of the NFL athletes.

The disrespect of our flag and anthem is what pushed us over, but the behavior of the players had us right to the edge.

The “leftists” did not have to work very hard to turn us against the NFL.

Rush makes it sound like the progressives worked night and day to destroy the poor innocent NFL teams.

A common thread in the misery of too many African Americans, is the breakdown of the family and/or substance abuse. The Dimmies are directly behind all of that, as cultural Marxism seeks to destroy from within. The Uniparty piled on mainly for profit.

President Trump is the only President in my lifetime with solid plans to effect real change for the better. His Main Street economic shift and his foreign policy strategies, that seek to stabilize instead of conquer, have all but stopped human trafficking, so that Americans can once again obtain jobs that earn a living wage. His war on drugs has teeth. And he has brought faith in God back to America, a God that lifts up humanity, not destroys it with holy wars.

I find it very alarming that these “useful idiots” in the NFL, and elsewhere, cannot begin to fathom where true salvation lies. They should get down on their knees in humble gratitude, not arrogant disdain.

That is to say, they don’t like the idea of working for a living, working one’s way up from the bottom into being a valuable employee or entrepreneur somewhere – they prefer living off of others, through free handouts or even crime. So true, Tegan. For decades, blacks fought for equality, inclusion, and respect and now we see the opposite because of the leftist, socialist, Cloward-Piven and Alinsky movements that have infected the black community which began in the Clinton era.

The Clinton’s were really the ones that brought on the race-baiting and politics of personal destruction into our world that had actually come a long way since MLK. The Dems only know how to destroy – never build up. Remember: “You didn’t build that…”

So after all MLK worked for we have the very same people but generations later wanting all black pageants, all black proms, all black graduations, all black schools, etc…Sad. In the military, 98 percent of us do not see color and only judge on your competency to get the job done; because if you can’t the job done, someone may lose their life.

As silly as it may be to some, I ALWAYS stand up and put my hand over my heart for the National Anthem. Listening to the words and watching Ol’ Glory waving in the breeze never fails to make me a little misty. God bless America. And God bless the Marine Corps.

First last…Thank you for sharing that. I thought it was only me that did that….even when by myself in my living room, I stand reverently with my hand over my heart. I too get misty eyed thinking of the solemn significance of the anthem. Sometimes I get too choked up to sing along but I ALWAYS stand and make the attempt. God Bless America….and those 3 beautiful Americans on that roof! Character!! MAGA!!

I bought my son a pretty nice football at a yard sale on Friday for a whopping 75 cents. I can throw it decent enough to show him how and to how to catch it. He loves the Pledge of Allegiance so we can do that with our little flag before we play in the yard. All for roughly $2.00. Then I can make him his corndog and mac n cheese and peas for a couple more dollars.
An afternoon for just a few dollars versus a couple hundred.
And my son learns morals from me, not these nfl jerks.
    That’s winning!

Beautiful shot of the roofers, and great story.

As to NO FANS LEFT, it is sad that a bunch of millionaire crybabies are allowed to destroy the living of so many people that count on these few home games to earn their living. While they claim to be standing up for those who are “repressed”, they are repressing everyone around them who don’t get to take home million $$$ paychecks.

I’ve known people who pay the extras for their kids by taking a 2nd job at the stadium and peddling beer all day or night. It’s killer work, but the tips are good if you are.

Have any of these NO FANS LEFT owners talked to anyone besides the players for input? Or are those people the real slaves on the plantation, begging for crumbs from the players and the owners they control?

SHAME on ALL of these LOSERS.

Trying to stand at attention on a steep roof is a risky move for anyone. These guys rock.

Just a few moments ago as I was preparing to step out of my local VA hospital a young woman bounded out just before me, and was vigorously waving. I presumed initially that she was summoning her ride, but no, she was greeting a passing USAF search and rescue helicopter, most likely on a training mission.

We found we both had a thing for greeting our airborne Active Duty Servicemen. I live on a spot that serves as a pylon for aircraft from both our Air Base and our International Airport; I see a lot of aircraft, and love it.

The Civilian craft get a “God Bless,” Military birds get a “God Speed.” Helps ease the pain of no longer being in the game.

Glad this picture was taken, and shared, thank you Sundance. This, indeed, is America.

I live north of Boeing Field in Seattle and I’m not on the roof much (except for when the Blue Angles are in town), but last week when I was, two newer F18’s flew right overhead – sounded like they were taking off, could have been doing a fly over or an overhead landing pattern – but they were big, loud and breathtaking. Today, I was out on a walkway, not as high as the roof but up there, two transport USAF planes flew over – looked like a straight in approach to Boeing Field. Stunning. America is on the move.

I read or heard somewhere that the NFL is about 75% black. So here we have a business employing predominantly young black men, a demographic that seems to have a whole heck of a lot of trouble getting and keeping employment otherwise, and said demographic is busy destroying one of the few opportunities young black men have to make millions playing a game. Geniuses.

      “Geniuses”

I don’t think much thought or intelligence is involved in this, healy.

My judgment is that it’s mostly about poking whitey.
      Poke poke poke.

Little thought to whether whitey will poke back.

      Or just go away.
In this case, it appears he’s choosing to just go away.

That and an ailment that’s increasingly diagnosed in our school systems, something known as “willful defiance disorder”.

I have only passing familiarity with it but my impression is that it’s a teen-to-adult version of “a tantrum”. I’m sure “psychologists” have much fancier words to describe it.

      YMMV

I went back and looked closer at the photograph…it isn’t staged…check out their tool belts/nail bags…the guy in the green shirt has suspenders to hold the heavy belt up…also note the toe boards at the base of the roof and the top of the ladder can just be seen…not to mention they’re dirty…those boys are working.

Oh I can tell it isn’t staged, I was just saying what I figured the lamestream would say.

In the 50 years in our home, I seen our roof re-roofed twice, plus when the builders roofed it the first time. Those guys work hard, and it’s not an easy, peasy job either.

I’m a dogged supporter of Free Speech. For all. All sides.

That being said….I was a tad shocked that the NFL permitted their employees this level of Free political speech while on the job (as its not good business practice), but they did…for whatever reason .

All said, THIS is capitalism at its finest. The company and the employees offer a product..and America gets to decide if She will partake. Empty seats and spiraling ratings. Better luck next Virtue Signal.

My young boys are scouts. They know how to respect the flag.

We sometimes go to the local high school football games – mostly because I allow them to get whatever they want from the concession stand!

For one game, we had gotten out of the car and were mid-parking lot when the National Anthem was played by the band.

We stopped right there in the parking lot and observed the Anthem. Then proceeded to walk on over to the stadium. That is just how you do it.
