Friday July 14th – Open Thread

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.

For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

From what I’ve been told by a relative engaged in the business, don’t be too sure those claiming they’re from natural springs are 100% so in content.. Takes a lot of water to keep a bottling plant running. I see a few tankers pulling into one adjacent to PA Rt. 100 next to some small silos but see box truck loads of water leaving. Say 6K gallons arriving 2-3 times hourly vs 6-8 53′ box vans leaving in the same time frame.

A good song about trying to un-ring a bell. Cheatin’ always violates a sacred bond and, once it’s torn, you can’t put it back the way it was. You can sometimes—maybe—fix things but “fixed” just ain’t original and you and your other will always know the difference. Sometimes, though, we can get sideswiped without really knowing why. Just try explaining *that* away. Jamie Lin Wilson sings about a great truth.

In honor of PTrump’s visit to Paris . . .

    The Bard Of Bercy

The sun is well risen, in the late spring.
The Bard of Bercy prepares for his day:
A chunk of bâtard, a glass of Merlot,
A heavy sweater and his old, black béret.

A sedate stroll on the banks of the Seine,
Nearing his venue just past Musée d’Orsay,
The sun slowly lowers, dusk draws ever near,
Now just a few steps off des Champs-Élysées.

A somber fog, an omen, drifts slowly in –
The City of Lights now shrouded in gray.
Huge marble columns in a sweeping arch,
The great Bard arrives at Au Petit Palais.

The chef de salle motions the great Bard
To a small table pushed out of the way,
Where his devotees will soon gather
To listen raptly to his thoughts for today.

Smoking Gitanes from an ivory holder,
The great Bard waits; time ticks slowly away,
But no one comes, and his chairs stand empty.
The great Bard sees his life in sad array.

The Bard always knew this day would come,
Though why it came now and couldn’t delay
Left him half dazed as he sits so forlorn
With the smothering thought he is now passé.

The dark night draws in, the fog thick around,
The great Bard rises, his face wreathed in dismay.
He must face his new life, now made mundane,
And with a great sigh, trudges home for the day.

This article was written a year ago in Remnant (A Catholic Newspaper) and I think it might help explain the Pope’s strange behavior.

THE POPE’S BOSS — Wikileaks: Pope and Soros An Unholy Alliance

Among the many smoking guns uncovered in the Wikileaks data dump, lurks documents that should give Catholics great concern. The latest Wikileaks data dump of internal documents from George Soros’ Open Society Foundation exposes the most shocking of all his political alliances.

According to the leaked Open Society Foundation documents, George Soros funds efforts to promote his radical socialist agenda of income inequality by using the bully pulpit of Pope Francis. Soros seeks to “engage the Pope on economic and racial justice issues” by lobbying the Vatican.

Some tidbit in the news yesterday: In a nutshell:

Officers charged in the death of a black man (Freddie Gray) whose neck was broken in the back of a police van are asking a federal appeals court to allow parts of a lawsuit against Baltimore’s top prosecutor to proceed.

The officers are suing State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby for malicious prosecution, defamation and invasion of privacy. Three of the officers were acquitted, and Mosby dropped the remaining cases.

I hope they win…. boy oh boy… I hope so. What I read is that, in a legal sense, she acted more like an investigator than a prosecutor, so she shouldn’t be immune….. or something like that.

The failure of “the plan” is explained here:

The Death of Europe – How the Mohammed retirement plan will kill Europe.

“Mohammed is Fritz’s retirement plan. Fritz is counting on Mohammed to work while he relaxes.

“But Mohammed has a very different type of plan. Mohammed relaxes and expects Fritz to work. Fritz is not related to him and therefore Mohammed sees no reason why he should work to support him.

“Mohammed’s Imam will tell him to work off the books because paying into the system is gambling. However taking money out of the system is just Jizya; the money non-Muslims are obligated to pay to Muslims. Under Islamic law, it’s better for Mohammed to sell drugs than to pay taxes.

“That’s why drug dealing and petty crime are such popular occupations for Salafis in Europe. It’s preferable to steal from infidels than to participate in the great gamble of the European welfare state.

“Mohammed isn’t staking his future on the shaky pensions of European socialism. He invests in what social scientists call social capital.

“He plans his retirement by having a dozen kids. If this lifestyle is subsidized by infidel social services, so much the better. And when social services collapse, those of his kids who aren’t in prison or in ISIS will be there to look after him in his golden years.

“As retirement plans go, it’s older and better than the European model.

“Mohammed doesn’t worry much about the future. Even if he doesn’t make it past six kids, by the time he’s ready to retire the European country he’s living in will probably be an Islamic State. And he is confident that whatever its arrangements are, they will be better and more just than the infidel system.”

  23. from article:

Lee Hernandez, who is in hospice care at his home in New Braunfels, has undergone three brain surgeries and has suffered several strokes, the Arizona Republic reported.

His wife, Ernestine Hernandez, said she found a therapeutic way to brighten her husband’s day: Phone calls and text messages from others. Lee Hernandez asked his wife to hold his phone one day “in case someone calls,” the Republic reported. Two hours later, he was despondent.

“I guess no one wants to talk to me,” said the 47-year-old veteran, who served 18½ years in the Army including a tour in Iraq.

“It broke my heart,” Ernestine Hernandez told the Republic. “(Lee’s) speech is not very well, so many people didn’t take much interest or want to talk with him.”

That is, until she contacted Caregivers of Wounded Warriors.

    lilbirdee12’s prayer:

Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.

Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.

Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.

Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.

We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.

In Jesus name, we pray. Amen
