Wednesday May 10th – Open Thread

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.

For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen โ€

Garrison, such an out of the blue post. Is there a particular reason for it??

It was a pleasant surprise for me to see and then view it for a couple of reasons. Just wondering why you posted it seemingly so randomly.

      Thanks! ๐Ÿ˜Š

“Joanne” was written by Leonard Cohen, one of our more enigmatic song-writers. I’ve always found the story moving because it’s about falling in love, then falling apart, the two emotions equally juxtaposed when viewed as retrospection. In its brief telling we know exactly what happened. Although it has been recorded many time, I’ve always felt that Michael Nesmith does it best.

        Muslim Conquest by the Numbers

        Muslim population remains around:
1% – peace-loving minority and not as a threat to anyone. In fact, they may be featured in articles and films, stereotyped for their colorful uniqueness:
2% to 3% – proselytize and major recruiting
5% – influence concessions for halal, prayer, and washing. Push for self-rule under Sharia Law. Threats for failure to comply.
10% – increase protests and lawlessness to complain about their conditions. Anything offensive to Islam will result in uprisings and threats
20% – expect hair-trigger rioting, jihad militia formations, sporadic killings and church and synagogue burning
40% – widespread massacres, chronic terror attacks and ongoing militia warfare
60% – unfettered persecution of non-believers and other religions, use of Sharia Law as a weapon and Jizya, the tax placed on infidels
80% – State run ethnic cleansing and genocide
100% – the Islamic House of Peace โ€” because everybody is a Muslim
BUT, Muslims then start killing each other for a quite a variety of reasons.

Also, search for โ€œ4 Stages of Islamic Conquestโ€.

I am seriously concerned about the way the RNC is going about getting ready for the 2018 mid-terms. If their best effort is to dun my dear 88 years old Mother for a $100 pledge she did not make, first with a phone call and now with a follow-up letter from Chairwoman Ronna Romney McDaniel.

Mother thought it was a very poorly written letter, discussing what the Democrats are doing in liberal classrooms across the country with the help of the liberal media. So what else is new? Didn’t we just win the house and the senate as well as the Presidency in spite of the liberal media and the liberal professors? So if my mom doesn’t send $100, you won’t be able to get past all the liberal media and liberal professors?

We are not thrilled with the liberal news media and the liberal professors but they are what they are and $100 from us will not change that story. At least the Democrats stick together, for the most part. I want the RNC to do a better job of standing up for President Trump. I don’t see why they can’t come up with better people than John McCain for Arizona and Lindsey Graham for South Carolina and why don’t they make a concerted effort to change things in California. Lazy Butts. Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan are not doing a great job, they are dragging their feet.

I am getting the feeling that the RNC under Chairwoman McDaniel is preparing to LOSE the 2018 mid-terms, if this is the best she can do.

This is wonderful, and I like the verse of the day.
However, the saying “God is love” gets used in the wrong way by a lot of people. This allows anyone to declare that God is simply a touchy-feely feeling, or gentle force amongst the other forces in the universe.

This phrase is just a figure of speech, a poetic expression. God is not love; God created love.

Interesting thought, Last – however, I have always thought of love when I think of God – you are correct – God created all things – visible and invisible – and He loved us long before we came to know Him – without God, we would not know LOVE – imho

LastDemocrat is looking at this wrong. Love is not an emotion it is a choice. It takes a conscious decision and a lot of work. God chooses to love us.

      God’s Love

Godโ€™s love, from the Bible, in Greek, agapฤ“,
Is not some mushy, romantic kind of love.
Nor is it the love you have for a brother,
But Godโ€™s goodwill โ€“ benevolence from above.

Agapฤ“ love is shown by what it does.
Godโ€™s love was fully displayed at the cross.
Even when we were dead in our sin,
He died for us โ€“ took our sins at great cost.

      It was by His grace that we were saved;
Though we were dead He gave us life in Christ.
      God seeks to benefit all those He loves;
Not one of us deserved such a sacrifice.

God does not merely love. He is love itself.
Everything God does flows from His love.
Then Godโ€™s love flows through us, itโ€™s from Him,
For God is the source, the reservoir thereof.

As Christians, we love God with agapฤ“ love.
With all of our heart, will, strength and soul.
We are to love others with agapฤ“ love,
Without love weโ€™re nothing โ€“ with love weโ€™re whole.

Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.

Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.

Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.

Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.

We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
