I didn’t turn on the radio today until after 2:00, and I heard Rush give a mealy-mouthed reply to the older woman who called and said she was once for Trump but is now angry with him over this budget thing. I kept yelling at Rush to tell her that Trump doesn’t do a budget until the fall, that this CR was Obama’s doing. Rush is a huge disappointment. I turned off the radio by 2:30. I just could not take it anymore.

I’ve been yelling at him a lot lately.
He knows full well if Trump is successful, he could lose his importance.
I think he also knows that he could be the only radio or TV host left AFTER Trump succeeds if he plays his cards .

DJ pay has gone down steadily along with radio in general since he left his old business.

That is what I yell at him,
          No Rush, Wrong card.

I could never understand why anyone would wait 2 hours to talk to someone on the phone!!!
On his open line Friday he blows hot air for most of the show barely taking calls with promises to take calls before every commercial!!
At times he appears to back Trump but at the same time he leaves important facts in Trumps defense completely off the table.
Whateve, I just add him to the list of public figures I don’t trust, he’s a friend of the Bush family what can you expect.

Yep, I mentioned this in the daily thread.

As I was listening to Rush, I kept thinking that he was reading straight from sundance’s post last week.

      Well done sundance!

Forgive him for he knows not how dumb he is – Sundance’s story is cross-referenced in I-Own-the-World within a day of its posting – besides, Limpy is nowhere the intellect of our Sundance – so anyone who believes he is the author of this masterpiece doesn’t know squat – wonder if anyone called in and let him know –

I’m hearing more and more of Sundance’s ideas on the Limbaugh show lately. Which is a good thing. Until a couple of weeks ago, Rush was stuck in the past, repeating the same timeworn lines about the Republicans and Democrats that he has since the days of Bill Clinton. Now, he doesn’t use the word UniParty, but you can tell he finally believes in it.

So predictable….. many questions today about Duterte along the lines of Duerte (evil, human rights abuser, blah blah)…. why is “Trump” inviting to Washington?

Duterte maybe not coming, “Trump” being snubbed by dictator.

Got to get more tax return questions.

Also, Trump would be ‘honored’ to meet with Kim…. How could that be (angry)?

Somebody will angrily ask about the correspondents dinner.

They are so predictable….. What else?

This right here is why SD told us yesterday that Reince Preibus should have done a better job explaining Duterte’s current importance in Asia. Good grief, this could have been cut off at the knees.

In any case, I don’t think it’s awesome of us to impose our own cultural beliefs on other govt’s/cultures. We “don’t like his brutality.” Yeah, we didn’t like Gaddafi’s brutality either, but now when it’s too late we understand it a bit better. And I’m pretty sure if we had told the Mau Mau they need to lead with their hearts and be kind, they’d eat ours, smh.

      • Here’s a thought I just had as I was agreeing with many of the comments here about Duterte –

If Administration people had constantly stressed Mr. D’s position as current president of ASEAN this year, it would have diminished Mr. D’s aura of importance to Pres. Trump. Language of diplomacy is tough, tough, tough.

Not for me to even attempt it – I am no diplomat as most of my friends will tell you!

I like the way Spicer is talking about the border funding in the 2017 budget as a down payment on the wall. He clarified that there are many things to be done such as taking bids, making plans, planning technology, gates, etc. He was emphatic that the wall will be built and that all plans are moving forward on the wall.

I watched that one this morning, and I couldn’t believe how long it took to spit out such a worthless question. I’m with you Katherine, we could ask far better questions and save everyone time. Oh, and you’re a Domestic Goddess, not simply a housewife.

I actually gave that as an answer to a local journalist when he asked what I did for a living. Oh boy, it took months for the ribbing and jokes to stop, but it was worth it. I smiled and laughed the whole time and gave a bit back too since it was the guys doing the friendly ribbing. Not one joke came from the ladies, they too were to busy smiling and saying go get um. Domestic Goddess? Darn skippy. Also made sure the journalist capitalized the title too. 😊

It’s an absurd question in general, and doesn’t even accurately characterize the event. The “airline” didn’t drag the passenger off the plane….law enforcement did. And why was law enforcement involved? Because the passenger was acting like a petulant little baby (he sure squealed like one when he was carried off) and creating a disturbance (delaying the departure of the plane). As far as I’m concerned, when you disobey law enforcement, you deserve the consequences of your decision.

I like that POTUS leaves his options open and keeps Congress on their toes. He keeps everyone a little uncertain so as to leave room to negotiate and retain a little power/control. Also, if he commits now who knows what Congress might add/subject and then try to hold him to the commitment pre changes

The Murdochs especially James Murdoch were in trouble in the UK with News International Group and the phone hacking scandal. It caused a long enquiry and the closure of one of our oldest papers the News of The World. Many journalists lost their jobs .James Murdoch had to resign and he went off to the States where he is meddling now in Fox News from the sounds of it.
He didnt come across as very bright at the time..
I think the Murdochs have too much monopoly on information type businesses.

  35. Comment from presser re: infrastructure. We hear tons of talk on this, how to finance, etc., but no one mentions, perhaps b/c they don’t know this, that improved roads improves the economy. No, not b/c of spending on jobs and materials. B/c smooth roads are better for cars and trucks traveling on them. Actually, no one ever thinks about wear and tear on vehicles caused by pot-holes and sudden braking due to bumps from temporary fixes. Don’t know if this can be quantified.

    Liked by 1 person

    • Shadrach says:

I don’t think it’d be possible to quantify, but there are stories like this all over the country.

“The state estimates the cost of fixing California’s roads and freeways is $59 billion, and the governor wants ideas on what fees to levy and what taxes to increase to pay for it.

And you’d get lobbying by the car repair associations against it because they’re making money hand over fist! People need to think about public infrastructure investments as the future for you and your kids.”
