(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton today made the following statement regarding the announcement by President-Elect Donald J. Trump that he had officially handed “complete and total” control of his business empire to his sons, Don Jr and Eric, in order to avoid potential conflicts of interest once he enters the White House:
While there is no off-the-shelf ethics plan for a matter as complex and unprecedented as this, Mr. Trump seems to be on the right track. As we said in our recent New York Times op-ed, it would be unfair to insist that Mr. Trump destroy his business to become president. This ethics plan follows many of Judicial Watch’s recommendations and reasonably addresses pressing concerns about separating Mr. Trump’s private business from the public’s business.

Vitamin water would be best.

You people carped about this for years. I remember Boehner saying they would repeal and replace with a better plan, but they needed a republican house, senate and president. Well tomorrow finally came. Time to pony up.

How is it possible NOT to describe these people as savages?

I am not a bleeding heart liberal and we hunt, are meat eaters and would wear a fur coat if I could afford it! But I do believe in humane treatment of animals and good stewardship. This is horrid and wasteful. These look like excellent dogs, well trained, much invested and good, healthy animals. This is pitiful, disgusting and wasteful of talent, potential and life. They would have made great guard dogs or gone on to work for state side police departments and been well cared for. Just terrible!

My liberal sister and I had an argument about it. When I showed it to her, her first response was that “it was an American company, figures?” I got mad because when I looked into it, the owner was a muslim immigrant who became American. It happened in Kuwait. The employees were (most likely muslims) from all over the world. As far as I am concerned, it is another muslim massacre.

This is an excellent interview. Very informative. His comments about Rubio and Tillerson were very perceptive; someone who is going to be a diplomat would be stupid to call a national leader a war criminal…doesn’t leave too much room for diplomacy. What is going on with Rubio? Bizarre…

When I saw Rubio’s performance today, all I could think of was Chris Christie’s take down of him during the primary debate when he chewed little Marco a new one. Someone gave Marco his script and he read it. The end. He’s just another empty uniparty suit.

08 days, 15 hours, 21 minutes.
Not that I’m counting, mind you.

Steve, when do you start including seconds?

I really can’t because one can’t tell how long it will take for the post to load.
Incidentally, I try to fix things so what I report, added to the time stamp, works out to be 12 Noon on the 20th. So technically, when I say something like “24 minutes” it’s somewhere between 23 and 24 minutes, and the time stamp says :36 after the hour.
In the interests of full disclosure, for those who are counting. I’m not counting, mind you, just being helpful.

Read California Lieutenant Governor said he will block Trump’s wall with environmental suits. I could make an argument his house should be torn down for the same reasons.

Trump declares the border a national security matter and by-passes all environmental problems. I don’t see how anyone could deny that our border is national security.

The wall was approved as part of the “Border Fence Bill of 2006. Money was appropriated but the clowns probably spent it! This was brought up at a Hannity Town Hall and Trump said they probably stopped working on the fence/wall due to a “snake.” Haaaaaa.

Apropos of nothing, but related to the return of Main Street/America First Economics – had lengthy talk this a.m. with my Bernie Buddies. These guys are gamers, cell/phone phreaks, fiber/DSL guys, small business, hacker types. In short, me, but younger.
These guys fully understand the intent and direction of our new (old) economic paradigm. They are fully, 100% on board. They have not really left society. not yet, anyway They just live in a different world – my world.
I do think things are going to work out.
Ok, thanks for listening. Back to the war.

I am watching Tucker Carlson and he has a lawyer on that has represented the Bush family saying that Trump needs to SELL HIS BUSINESSES if he wants to be truly transparent. Also those buildings that have the “Trump name” need to have it removed because they can’t be protected in case of foreign entities that might attack them. They are all “itching” to have him divest of everything…just incredible!

Clearly he didn’t listen to the lawyer this morning who explained why doing so is not a good idea.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Obviously his point wasn’t that by law, Trump needed to sell everything. He kept drifting to the fact that Trump’s name was on buildings. Obviously he had other interests.

I forgot that every president, from Washington to Adams to Taft and the Roosevelts, were all penniless paupers devoid of land, titles and investments.
I remember a precedent that is the EXACT opposite. How silly of me.
