At the end of halftime and starting the third quarter of yesterday’s Army -vs- Navy football game, President-elect Donald Trump joined the broadcast announcers for a little light-hearted interview and discussion.
Here’s the full segment as broadcast:
Now, ask yourself: …against the natural charm and charisma of President Donald Trump, and knowing the scope of the bully pulpit therein, do you really think McConnell or Ryan are going to want to take a public position against America-First policies?…
For six straight years the face of the GOPe has been the mumbling old fool (McConnell) yelling ‘get off my lawn’, and the creepy 50-year-old guy (Boehner) sitting at the end of the bar hitting on your 20-year-old daughter…
Now? MAGA Donald and Melania Trump!
And the face of the Democrat Party is Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer.

Not only are we going to MAGA, but we are going to have some fun doing it.

Man that is perfectly said. We’d be lucky to have any President with Trump’s convictions, but Trump is just so damn good and so damn competent, that I can hardly believe it.

This brought to mind Obama, early in his usurped administration, finding himself in the broadcast booth at a Chicago White Sox game. He was boasting about being a White Sox fan and one broadcaster asked whi his favorite player was. Obama’s response:
Cringingly awkward moment. Obama is such a phony omega male.

Kind of funny that he often referred to himself as a “south side kid” when, in reality, he grew up in Hawaii.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Yeah, he was a South Side kid until asked to name his favorite White Sox player:
Then he played the Hawaii card. If he had been asked to name his favorite Oakland Athletics player, he would have had to play the Indonesia or Kenya card.

To be fair, I can’t name any current plays on any teams. Obama is a bit too young to be a baseball fan. It’s become the sport of the baby boomer GOPe crowd: O’Reilly, George Will, and Krauthammer.

But, do you go around saying you are a baseball fan?

Was a good close matchup to watch. Our man in DC, The Natural, brought along advisors Steve Bannon (Navy) and General Lynch (Army) to enjoy the annual event.
Note to CBS who broadcast the game, “Do you hear us now?”

I was hoping and thinking Bannon might be there at the game with our President Elect. You have no idea what a treat it would have been to have Bannon do a segment with the commentators, it might have been bigger than that Trump segment which Was Big League HUGE!
Trump’s a MONSTER and I VOTED for HIM!
God Bless the Army, the Navy and our American Armed Forces. Wow.

Many of us knew June 16, 2015 that Trump simply had too much firepower to lose to politicians. Too much brains, skill, experience. We were right.

Yes, Hardhat is certainly going to upgrade the Republican image, from sniveler (Ryan,) and fat weasel (McConnell.)
Trump (I call him “Hardhat”,) is just your basic old good old fashioned American hardass.
The American people like that, of course!

Exactly! My friends and I have worked HARD since we took the House in 2010, the Senate in 2014, and now the Presidency, and what a POTUS we elected! We didn’t make calls or knock on doors, but we educated our family and friends, FB, Twitter, comments on blogs, research and more research, hour and hours spent reading, debating, chatting, discussing, getting the word out!
We lost friends, we gained friends, got family members pissed, and got family members on our side, we put ourselves out there where it counts, where we LIVE.
And I’m going to savor January 20th, 2016, the entire DAY!

I was almost giddy an hour ago when I stumbled upon this video. There are bits and pieces of it all over youtube but the whole enchilada is a special find. Trump just exudes charm and charisma. If you take the time to listen to the cheering crowd, Trump says he hears them saying MAGA and when he mentions it, you can hear him get a little emotional. It’s so obvious that he was truly moved by their response.

Weird…….
I watched the entire game and at halftime, my local station went immediately to the CBS Sports Desk and the panel interviewed previous Heisman candidates. No announcers in the broadcast booth, no halftime show and no Donald Trump shown on my TV. Was this designed on purpose, depending on which part of the country we live in?

There’s just something about it, something that’s different, something that’s been missing from all other modern day politicians…
That something is Trump is genuine, he’s real. He’s not thinking about a political angle whenever he speaks. He’s just hanging out with the guys, having fun
A professional politician is like a robot, always careful not to say a wrong word, always worried about what people will think. They’re all stiff, scripted & unlikable
And Trumps genuine realness is a reflection on his leadership style. He’s a good guy, he’ll do anything for you, but do your job, take direction & do your best. If you don’t, things won’t be so nice for you
It’s so refreshing having a real guy, a real person, doing the job not for power or prestige, but out of love of country & a love for the American people

What I loved most about that piece was that our President kept the conversation all about sports. His knowledge about sports is amazing. He is absolutely right about Joe Namath playing on legs that were devistated. He was also absolutely right about Bill Belichick being able to run any type of organization and doing an incredible job with it. His sense of humor about Vern being the ambassador of Sweden was awesome. Vern was a bit shocked how much the men and women that will soon be serving our country totally love DJT. He was humbled seeing it and hearing it!

Yes and Mr. Trump seemed right at home with the announcers.
It reminded me of Reagan doing that same thing at Wrigley field in 1988.
After throwing out the first pitch, he went into the booth with Harry Carey.
Sooooo nice to have a real American president again.

To be honest, this is why I don’t get concerned about all the attacks and things, or what Paul Ryan is scheming, etc. Trump has the ability to schmooze anybody. If Ryan gets some votes against him, Trump will call them or invite them to golf and get them on his side.
He’s good. REALLY good.

We just have to worry about McShame, Flake, and Lindsey. Trump is going to need to get three or four democrats on his side to get a majority.

Yup, saw this during the game. It was a refreshingly pleasant interview. Both seemed somewhat in awe of Trump and really kept things lighthearted and much of it sports-related. Maybe because these two are professionals and understand they are sports broadcasters, not political analysts.
So, Verne for Ambassador to Sweden? 😀
