Tomb of the Unknown ChristmasOur Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.

For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

After sharing a lot of stories with you from this past year and my time at the National Convention and crazy times volunteering for Trump, I realized a couple hours ago I could show some photos via a blogger page through gmail. Will add more photos and the story I am writing for myself to remember this wild year later, but for now wanted to share these pictures with you, my fellow Deplorables! Thank you for sharing my oft times wordy posts, and encouraging me in being a bull-dog against all those who would tear us down.

Raven, those were super cool pictures; had me smiling from one to the next.

I remember when you wrote about the convention and how the delegates on the floor in your sitting area deliberately ignored you because they wanted cruz and you were there for Trump. After looking at your picture on the convention floor I was totally shocked they did that. You have such a warm and inviting smile, why anyone wouldn’t want to talk to you is beyond me. I wouldn’t care if you were a delegate for someone else, your smile would be enough for me to sit and talk with you. Life isn’t all about politics.

I am so sorry you had to experience that, and I’m also happy you were able to enjoy yourself so much better on the second level with your husband. Now that rocks.

I look forward to reading your whole story of your experiences this year. Please make sure to let us know a few times just in case one of misses it. Oh heck, that would more than likely be me, so please, if you can remember, give me a nudge when you see my name. I don’t want to miss it.

Thank you, and stay smiling! 😊

        Oh my, sweet Maiingankwe,

As this year winds down and I think back upon what has taken place, all the crazy stuff that is still going on and anticipating January 20th and the swearing in of a strong, courageous man as our President, I will remember how these words you wrote to me made me cry joyful tears of thanks.

I am thankful You Were There with me all the time — in my heart — and I am thankful for that and for you.

        Happy Thanksgiving!

I know you said they were happy tears, and happy tears are good, but I just don’t like seeing anyone crying. Happy tears make me mush up too.

You would be amazed at the army that stands next to you and behind you, and all around you. You may not be able to see them all of the time, but your heart knows they are there when you ask or wonder.

You Raven, have a very big army and they are all there pushing you to carry on when it gets tough, celebrating with you with each and every victory, consoling you when you get hit hard, but most of all just loving you.

I am happy you can feel our prayers and feel our love for you and your fight. Please know you also have an army of Angels on your side. You are never and will never be alone. You’ve won far too many hearts.
          Ma’iingankwe

Don’t you dare cry on me, I am only speaking of the truth you already know in your soul. Singing or breaking out in a dance would be good. 🙃

        BigMamaTea,

After reading so much about the lying media yesterday, I started writing a post asking everyone to document the actual events they had witnessed during this election for posterity. I thought of how the ‘Little House on the Prairie’ books were one girl/woman’s memories of a life lived in a way many people would never know, and I wondered if she ever thought her simple stories would one day be read by many people — and that all those people would learn something new and authentic about life on the prairie because of what she had written.

In the end I deleted what I wrote, because I thought ‘Who is going to listen to me?’

I totally agree with you and would love to read the journey you have been on — the journey you have recorded all these years. Sweet!

Michael J. Fox Nails Soulful Guitar Solo, Playing With Dave Matthews For Parkinson’s Research

That unforgettable rocking solo played by Marty McFly in Back to the Future was just a preview of the guitar skills of Michael J. Fox.

When the Canadian-American Spin City star stepped on stage recently with Dave Matthews for a heart-wrenching rendition of “All Along The Watchtower”, the audience went wild.

The performance was the highlight of Fox’s annual charity event, “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Cure Parkinson’s” that took place on Saturday.

The intimate fundraiser at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City, with its sold-out crowd of 1,000 people enjoying a night of comedy and music, raised $5.7 million to Parkinson’s research.

“It’s something we’ve been doing since the beginning, having this gala, and it’s grown in amazing ways with the amount of people in the greater Parkinson’s community – and outside of it – who come out and support us,” said Michael while on the red carpet.

    “It’s humbling every year.”

Kanye West Psychosis Diagnosis May Trigger Huge Payout
    11/23/2016

Kanye announced the cancellation of his tour 6 hours before he was handcuffed to a stretcher and hauled off to UCLA Medical Center for psychiatric evaluation.

The rapper not only reportedly lost around $30 mil for his cut of the remaining concerts, but he’s on the hook for venues and others with whom he made contracts.

TMZ has learned … Kanye had an insurance policy that covered him in the event illness prevented him from performing. The policy provides the insurance carrier will pay Kanye for not only the money he’d make but the money he was obligated to pay others if “accident or illness … prevents any Insured Person from appearing or continuing to appear in any or all of the Insured Performance(s) or Event(s).”

Translation … Kanye’s doctor laid the groundwork for filing a claim under the policy.

BTW … the insurance company can deny coverage if Kanye had a preexisting condition that he didn’t disclose at the time the policy was issued, or if his illness was caused by his “unreasonable or capricious behavior.”

It’s hard to imagine anybody would go this route given the potential consequences that can follow for decades/a lifetime to come. Should he and Mrs. West head for divorce court, for example, custody (and child support payments) are hers.

From now on it will be easier and easier to 5150 him, especially given the NAMI astroturfing happening utilizing the billions that rolled in with Prop 63 to shore up ‘the system’ and the NAMI, which was under Grassley scrutiny a few years back but slipped out as somehow the national organization did something with all the chapters, which I haven’t had the time to figure out yet.

Have been watching as the 5150 laws get looser and looser or tighter or tighter depending on how one views it. Anybody subject to a 5150 loses 2nd amendment rights in CA even though a 5150 is intended to determine whether a person should be held in a 5250 for actual treatment.

What is happening in CA is intended to spread across the entire country and includes things like the police have to listen to family members and what they say becomes part of a medical record and a trail of things that can be used to force a dissenter onto anti-psychotics (tranquilizers) which interestingly became the #6 selling drug in the country despite only 1% of the population who supposedly suffered from psychosis.

But don’t worry, NAMI has worked the narrative into 25% of the population ‘suffers’ from mental illness. So that means 25% of you people are certifiable at one time or another.

The 5150 is the involuntary 72 hr hold, right?

        Like

        • anthedohmy says:

Correct. It is intended as a “civil rights hold” and is supposed to occur only when somebody presents an immiment serious threat to self (suicidal) or others (expressed homicidal ) intent, or becomes unable to provide for their own food, clothing, or shelter, which NAMI has advised members can happen when you kick a person out of the house (without the benefit of 30 day notice or a family court hearing on property division in a spousal situation) as the police you call arrive. NAMI has also gained control or strong influence on the CIT (Crisis Intervention Training) courses acrosss the country, which most law enforcement agencies use. Whenever there is an incident involving the police, if there is a NAMI chapter nearby, you can count on them to roll in and offer to facilitate brining CIT and “family to family” and “provider training” courses free to the community. The family to family training manual seems to be more concerned with making sure the mailing list obtained from the people who show up to the free training at the government building makes it to NAMI national offices, repeated early and often throughout the manual. Then, attendees are solicited for membership, which feels like church fellowship to the lonely, who also go on walks to raise funds as an adjunct to the millions the drug companies provide. The funds are used to lobby the legislature and have awards ceremonies to bring police and public servants into the fold, and to encourage the army of letter writers reminiscent of Correct The Record, whose comments can be seen in every article in the newspaper, and often in the body of the atrticles themselves, as they are “the voice of mental illness”. I could go on about what else the training manual says about how to spot mental illness and how to facilitate the initial trip to the hospital and get data into the medical record, which can be used on further adventures until you eventually force the person into permanent forced “outpatient treatment” if they stay compliant with the tranquilizer which will
produce heart disease, diabetes, and may contribute to the 25 year shorter life span people with MI “mysteriously” suffer from.

When I was a little kid back in the late ’50s early ’60s I remember watching a T.V. show late one night that I have never forgotten — even though my memory is tiny and broken. Maybe someone will remember or know the show/movie I show long ago.

In the show all the old people were rounded up and killed, or knew they were going to be killed just for being old.

Being very young and watching such a stark story-line, then hearing about earth being over populated as I went through school, it stayed in the back of my mind that in the “future” old people would be killed — just to lessen societies “burdens.”

Being mid-point in the Baby Boomer bonanza I watch and listen and wonder if this “it will never happen” “made up movie” will come to fruition in my lifetime.

Just another of many reasons I am thankful Donald Trump won the election.

(My boyfriend, who would one day be my darling husband, took me to see Soylent Green when it first came out. Who can forget the famous last line?!)

Just tried searching for what I may have seen as a kid and came up with lots-o-stuff, but nothing like what I remember.

Maybe it was a made for TV movie, or a one time story told on a weekly show like The Twilight Zone. The feeling of the show even all those years ago reminded me of a documentary, and I’m pretty sure it was in black and white.

Good info. I remember decades ago my father warned me to never get “mental health” insurance because you don’t want it to be financially beneficial for someone to declare you mentally unfit. Interesting that in all the arguments about birth control and pre-existing conditions not much was said about the ACA mandating mental health coverage which is one of the 10 “essential health benefits” mandated by the law.

The Lanterman Petris Short Act, AKA 5150 was a Civil Rights Act written by two legislators in CA who were originally tasked with exploring nursing home expenses in California in the 60’s. There investigation led them to the state hospitals where they found people living in deplorable conditions and too often placed there by “desperate and deceptive family members” so they penned laws to take the decision making and influence out of the hands of non-neutral parties. NAMI has a running narrative that the laws changed when “Reagan emptied the state hospitals” leading to the wave of homelessness and prisons filled with the mentally ill we see today.

But if one follows the numbers, in the eighties NAMI was quoting a prison population with 7% of the incarcerated inmates as mentally ill in order to gain more funding and police training to supposedly divert people out of the criminal justice system. In reality, the civil commitment system became so difficult to get around, that an arrest became an easier way to force somebody into “treatment” via the mental health treatment courts springing up all over the country. Now NAMI quotes 40% of prison population with mental illness and they credit mental illness for filling the prisons, rather than the crack cocaine and heroin epidemics and harsher sentencing laws. That’s why they need to get into the schools earlier, their new push and engage in “early identification” of mentally ill or potentially mentally ill children, to get them into treatment before they become more symptomatic.

If you agree to go to mental health court after an arrest, where the public defender, district attorney and judge all cooperate to get you onto medication and coming to open court on a regular basis where you or a paid mental health provider give a ‘report’ on your progress, you can get out of jail and into a residential or outpatient treatment program, which consists of going to group therapy with a ‘peer support worker’ often, and sometimes all day or half day of ‘group’ so employment is impossible, which it is if you swallow the tranquilizers, anyway.

BUT, you can be directed to an eligibility worker who will get you on Social Security Disability payments and maybe into some Section 8 housing if any is available, so you can continue your treatment with the non-profit providers who contract with the government to provide ongoing services to the ever increasing population of mentally ill people who keep doing all the terrible things we read about in the newspapers, ever since the introduction of prozac, on of the SSRI’s shown to make a certain portion of the population lose their minds.

As for the elderly now, the “atypical antipsychotics” (tranquilizers) have been shown to quiet people down nicely in the nursing homes, and the independent living facilities where they start out paying a modest fee for a meal and an apartment and some company, often after selling their primary home, but then after a while they have to move in to ‘assisted living’ where the proceeds from the sale can be consumed, if they haven’t been by the 5% annual increases on the rent in the independent living, which adds up after a few years.

Now, your Internal Medicine physician is being directed to assess for mental health as well, so be careful not to express discouragement or get sick with something they can’t figure out, because you can be mentally ill if a doctor can’t figure out what is wrong with you, psychosomatic and all, which is escapable if you can get to the Mayo Clinic or some non-quacks, but not so if health care and providers are dictated to you. Anthem just changed my PPO (I can go anywhere in the country) to an EPO (I can go to providers they pick, locally, so an HMO with separate offices ) for the exact same premium I willingly paid to keep the freedom to find the right doctor when I need to.

It’s always good to have an advanced directive written in a sound mind, and notarized, directing who you want and don’t want involved in your health care decisions, accessible at all times and in the hands of a few people you trust, if not an attorney. Also good to do estate planning to prevent these kinds of shenanigans ahead of time.

Recipe for the easiest and best cake ever. I don’t have a name for it yet, but I will have my daughter work on it for me. She usually comes up with the names. The last one she called, Hurry up Ham, another was Shaking Bacon Porkchops, there are more, but you get the gist.

    White cake mix
    2 cups powdered sugar
8 oz cream cheese (the whole bar)
Strawberry glaze found by the fruits.
    1 cup of water
Small bag of frozen raspberries or any berry fruit you desire.
2 cups of heavy whipping cream

Mix and bake cake in two round cake pans as directed and let cool.

Mix powdered sugar and cream cheese in a mid size bowl, mix well.

In a separate bowl use a mixer on the heavy whipping cream to get it frothy. (I don’t know the appropriate time, but I did it for a few minutes. Sounds and feels goofy doing it, but it might be the trick to the great taste.)

Slowly add the the whipping cream to the powdered sugar/cream cheese mixture.

Put in the middle of the two cake pieces, on top and sides.

Before serving, take out another mid-size bowl, and slowly mix by hand the strawberry glaze to one cup of water. (I put a paper towel or a dish towel underneath bowl because this strawberry stuff will stain if not caught in time.). Add fruit, mix, and pour all over cake, and let it drip down the sides.

I took a picture of it on my IPhone, but have no clue how to put it on here. My daughter says it’s easy, but I have to literally catch her to show me, and that may take a bit.

This is one of the best cakes ever. Not only does it taste so darn good, it looks pretty sharp, like a pastry chef did it. I would advise only making this for a small group of no more than four. We all fought for the last piece and had to split it three ways. Next time I will make two cakes, so I can share with friends and prevent my family members from trying to steal it in the middle of the night.
Please try it, it is so worth it. I would never have shared it here if my family and friends weren’t so floored with it. My daughter’s friend said she refuses to eat cream cheese because of the taste and texture. Poor thing wanted to take a second piece home with her to eat later.

Obama’s DOJ Fines Police Department $10K for Refusing to Hire Noncitizens
    November 22, 2016

Denver County’s sheriff office has been slapped with a fine by the Department of Justice because it refused to hire noncitizens as deputies.

From the beginning of 2015 through last March, the Denver Sheriff Department went on a major hiring binge, adding more than 200 new deputies. But those jobs ended up only going to citizens, because the department made citizenship a stated requirement on the job application. The department admitted as much in a new settlement with the U.S. government, which requires it to pay a $10,000 fine.

The department will also have to comb through all of its job applications from the past two years, identifying immigrants who were excluded from the hiring process and giving them due consideration.

“Eliminating this unlawful citizenship requirement will help ensure that the Denver Sheriff Department hires the best and most qualified individuals to protect and serve,” DOJ Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General Vanita Gupta said in a statement. “The entire community will benefit from these reforms.”…

Have decided for the foreseeable future to only read the comments in this section. I will read SD’s post, but will refrain from the comments as so many have become completely unhinged. It is rather depressing reading that many “concern” comments. Makes one wonder if those people ever fully supported Trump.

Over time MK, a lot of us do the same. Especially, the high comment number threads! It gets insane. It is also, kind of a growing pain of sorts for CTH. Some are trolls, some have just “awoken” and are freaked, some are loony, and some are just annoying. And in all of that, after a very short time I tend to bail. (Especially when you start to see some of the stuff that causes Sd, to stop the comments, like yesterday.

I think, that there are many, who, as we all have, have been lied to repeatedly by politicos, that they’ve fallen into that trap again. Our new POTUS is a different breed.
(I chuckled last night, not only with the general attack of the lamestream media on every move by Trump (livestreaming the Tower elevators!) but then, also the quick-reaction of people, having a breakdown, that Trump is following the same M.O.

It’s just a symptom of the abuse we have all previously suffered from. Some of it is just a natural reaction to “waiting for the shoe to drop” since that is what’s “always” done to us.

Thanks. Good words here. I am one of those who stopped voting for many years. I never stopped paying attention to the goings on. Trump made his decision and there was no doubt who I was backing.

Then sometime late last year (2015) I found CTH. It was a breath of fresh air. SD has the ability to put in written words most of my thought process. My wife will vouch for me in that much of what SD says I have said for many years. Just not as clearly. lol

So yes, I will be taking a long break from reading comments and posting comments, as they get lost in all the mass concern. I will, as I have for the last year, wait with baited breath for SD’s next post. He (they??) has an amazing clear view of the goings on in the political world.

Like you, I quit voting many years ago when it was proven that “they” didn’t pay any attention to what “we” wanted….until Trump. I’ve also quit (many months ago) watching any news, and recently quit reading a bunch of the sites I used to read as the comments were so bad. This is my daily desert. I come here to be refreshed and catch up on some of the REAL news. Thank you all for your posts.

another trap might be overly-obsessing about DJT…his every word, every move, every intention…almost to the point of becoming a Trump wonk ….wonkish about him and the people around him…some of whom seem to talk way too much, (imo).

the dust hasn’t even settled yet from the campaign wars, and the man is not yet in office.

you always have to pace yourself…have endurance…take a break once in a while…get away from it…it’ll all still be there.

otherwise, the tendency sometimes, at some point, is an inability to see the forest for the trees.

M K, I agree with you 100%. According to the Psalmist, I have 10 years left or 20 if I am strong, and I am not going to spend any of my remaining time allotted scrolling through a thread of 800+ comments to try and sort the wheat from the chaff, even though I am sure that some of the comments are brilliant. I suppose that is the price for the growing popularity of the CTH, for which I thank the Lord. Like you, I do read the analysis by Sundance, but then jump to the open thread where I read every comment, although I don’t watch all the videos all the way through. Given that I check in several times a day, that means reading some of the comments more than once as get to the new replies. Great fun, and time well spent.

    Keeping it real this Thanksgiving.
    Dear Treepers –
My (just a few days away from being 100) very dearest Mother-In-Law fell last week and broke her pelvic bone in two places. She has lived this long partly because of her attitude on life and having taken care of herself.
She was unable to get into a skilled nursing facility because the one available to her does not take medicare. She has the best private plan possible. They don’t take. She has cash – they don’t take.
Meantime she is doing her own self designed PT until she can start with professionals next week.
Her 100th birthday party scheduled for Saturday is off but we kids and grandkids and great grandkids will still be there. HALLELUJAH!
My friend on the coast – her husband is dying of cancer and has taken a turn for the worse and hospice is coming in today. White lights and prayers please for a stranger to you all named Steve.

While I am unable (just lack of time) to comment much at the Treehouse I read as much as possible. Talk about a group of positive, thoughtful, intelligent people! I am so grateful to have you’all around in my life – so appreciative of all giving your insights thru this last MEGA year!

To Sundance et al – thank you for your service to our country!
To all the Treepers – may you have the very best Thanksgiving possible – keep it real – keep it going!

“Final Statement of Geert Wilders at his Trial”
    by Geert Wilders – November 23, 2016

“When I decided to address you here today, by making a final statement in this trial against freedom of speech, many people reacted by telling me it is useless. That you, the court, have already written the sentencing verdict a while ago. That everything indicates that you have already convicted me. And perhaps that is true. Nevertheless, here I am. Because I never give up. And I have a message for you and the Netherlands.”

    • He’s getting the royal shaft. And this is the exact same fate Americans face if the Leftist PC Speech/Thought Police aren’t thwarted.

I don’t care if they (the left, the minorities, or what-have you) get offended, that’s their right. I don’t mind if they complain about being offended because complaining is ALSO their right. But I DO MIND when they try to install legislation (Think “Hate Speech” censorship) that denies me the right to express MY feelings/thoughts/complaints.

Since when was ONE group determined to be the arbiter of what we ALL can think, or say?

Savage nails it again: ‘Trump right Not to pursue Clinton’

“…..Now, the investigation into Hillary Clinton was bungled from the beginning to the end. Trey Gowdy bungled it. The FBI director bungled it, whose name I forget (laughs). It’s terrible, he was in the news, because he undermined — he was the reason Hillary lost, to be honest with you. The last two bombshells, it’s what destroyed her campaign. Remember how it excited the nation?
So now, OK, they got what they wanted. He won. She lost, and they figured what’s to be gained? Why drag the country through this again?

There are bigger things to do. I mean you could stay positive. You know, the secret of success in all people I’ve known is try to stay positive.
We can carry around vendettas against people who have harmed us, hurt us, slighted us. And you know what that does? It ruins your life.

I have plenty of people I don’t like. I have plenty of people who have stood in my way. I have plenty of people who have insulted me. You can’t remember them every second. If you want to go forward, you have to go forward. And to go forward you can’t look backwards. It’s that simple.

So, I think it’s a good thing not to pursue charges against Clinton…”

However, Clinton is a CRIMINAL running a CRIMINAL ENTERPRISE. You do not “come together”; you PROSECUTE.

      I disagree here, totally.

Savage tries to equate prosecuting Clinton as going after someone he doesn’t like. “Staying positive”, “time to heal”, and “time to come together” are all false memes.

“Enforce the law”, “equal under the law”, “no one is above the law”, are “we are a nation of laws” are the correct perspectives.

Investigate, and prosecute or not based on the evidence is the only way.

Last night I wrote in the open thread about finding the wallet of a young black woman, and I felt like I was being tested because the wallet had a BLM button in it. 🙂 Of course I did the right thing, I worked very hard to contact her and finally succeeded late this morning with the help of the college she attends and she and a friend came to my workplace this afternoon to pick the wallet up. She was so gracious and thankful, and both she and her friend gave me a hug. They were adorable. I was happy to get her wallet back to her before Thanksgiving so she could have a nice holiday. Also, because I remember what it was like to be in college and not have much, and because I felt bad that she had to travel quite a distance to come downtown on a yucky cold rainy day, I tucked a $20 into a folded post-it note that said “Happy Thanksgiving, enjoy a lunch on me”. I hope she and her friend had a nice lunch and were able to relax. It’s very stressful to lose a wallet, I know because it’s happened to me a couple of times. And now I feel relaxed too knowing that everything worked out alright.

I know this may not be of interest to many, but something VERY disturbing happened on /r/the_donald last night; the CEO changed user comments. He fessed up to it today.

A CEO of a MAJOR social media site deliberately and intentionally altered comments left by users, in such a manner as to make it indetectable to other users. He falsified user statements. But more to the pont, he destroyed the integrity of the entire site, because if he can and will change words in users’ post because he’s cranky (as he admitted), why else might he change wording? Who else have they targeted? What’s written on social media ripples out into the real world… this is literally the power to ruin people’s lives. It’s disgusting, and it’s an entirely unheard of level of censorship.

Has anyone heard what Rosie O’Donnell said about Baron? Among other things, I take issue with the fact that she is trying to turn this into Trump being ashamed of his child when he should be an activist. All under the assumption that her diagnosis is true. That is like saying Michelle Obama is a tranny, and Obama is a traitor and a hypocrite to the homosexual community for trying to hide it.
