A reminder.  Senator Tim Kaine has only been together with his running mate Hillary Clinton one time since the DNC convention.  They appeared together in Ohio on Labor Day (Sept 5th), that is the one and only time since the end of July.
That’s the reality backdrop for Kaines’ absolute failure to launch during the Vice-Presidential debate last night.  And… if there’s one thing as certain as the sun rise in the east tomorrow, it’s the truism that when anything impedes Hillary Clinton’s mission to achieve the presidency they are immediately rebuked.   Senator Tim Kaine better get a food taster ASAP.  ( <– Not Kidding)
The first test of a presidency is who they select for a Vice Presidential running mate. The single most important characteristic in that role is “stability“.

The Vice-Presidential nominee cannot be that creepy/sketchy guy at the end of the bar who hits on your 20-year-old daughter…. or worse.  Unfortunately, Senator Tim Kaine broke the cardinal rule: his behavior made the debate uncomfortable, weird and awkward.
To make matters even worse, Kaine’s petulance, arrogance and argumentative performance last night –constantly interrupting– reinforced a caricature of the Clinton ticket that already existed. An image of a nasty, vitriolic and ‘will-say-anything to gain political power for personal benefit‘ presidential campaign.

Hillary+Clinton+Hillary+Clinton+Hosts+Global+AmP5h95QQkwlYou can almost see/hear Hillary watching the debate with the ever-present legion of political sycophants and shrieking:

“that jackass, I only picked him because of Virginia and he screwed me”…

[Throws glass of thick water through flat screen TV] Paul Begala peeks from behind the potted plant and knows not to start the spin just yet.  Everyone else heads for the exits.  Huma hangs out in the kitchen monitoring the twitter meltdown on her phone.
Yikes !!
“why aren’t I fifty points ahead you might ask” !
But seriously.   The Clinton team had a perfectly scripted plan of attack.  The canned narrative was to wedge Pence in a corner and sell the VP-candidate as not defending Donald Trump.
Remember, they simply repeat the road map they learned from Alinsky: “Isolate, Ridicule, Marginalize”.   To wit Kaine had one objective, focus on the “isolation” objective.
That’s why every response from Senator Kaine was trying to pit Governor Pence against running mate Donald Trump.  The MSM had the reinforcing message toward that objective already written in their post debate script and teleprompters.  What the MSM needed was a design narrative from the debate outcome where they could instantly refer to the plan and reinforce it.
However, Governor Pence artfully defended Trump; and not only defended the positions of the campaign, but factually embraced the campaign message as his own.  In essence, Pence provided no daylight for the Alinsky wedge.  Pence’s approach made the isolation angle impossible, although some MSM punditry (mostly CNN) did try to use it anyway.
Because Senator Kaine knew his entire objective was to create that wedge, he became increasingly belligerent when his various attempts therein were not working.  Kaine’s desperation grew more visible, and as a direct consequence his creepy meter quotient increased exponentially.  A massive stability failure.
Governor Mike Pence presented his positions and himself as abundantly loyal, thoughtful gracious, wise and exceptionally stable.  Mike Pence is the guy you want as your neighbor.  Perfect.  The perfect characteristics needed in a Veep candidate.
Mike Pence could not have done better.  No contest he won the day.
