Arizona Poll – John McCain Has Serious Primary Fight: McCain 41%, Kelli Ward 41%…

A new PPP poll from Arizona (full pdf below) shows Senator John McCain is in a serious battle for the GOP primary.  Challenger Kelli Ward is currently tied with McCain at 41% and the majority of republican electorate have a negative view of McCain.

mccain vs ward arizona senatae primary

Some of the internal polling results might be surprising to readers and political followers, especially given the preferred media narratives bantered about by the insufferable MSM punditry.

Example:  Kelli Ward is more heavily supported by Men 46/40 over McCain.  Conversely Women support McCain 43/36 over Ward.  The complete opposite narrative from what national punditry will opine (gaslight) when discussing gender based voting.

Here’s the full poll data:

This is one of the many races previously discussed where the challenger Kelli Ward would be well advised to support the winner of the Arizona GOP presidential primary, Donald Trump.

Likewise, the politics notwithstanding, Donald Trump would be well served to endorse Kelli Ward.  However, we can only imagine the epic ‘Splodey heads amid the MSM given the contrasted narratives.

Presidential Candidate Donald Trump endorsing Kelli Ward, the female challenger, against the backdrop of Trump’s prior controversial Senator McCain comments would be almost too much to wish for.

EPIC.

Senator Lindsey Graham, and the Never-Trumpers would spontaneously combust !

McCain is a militarist suffering from acute narcissism. As a Senator on a southern border for some 40 YEARS… apparently had no idea that his state border was being breached by a steady flow of illegal aliens. He not even been to the border in decades to check. He was SHOCKED I tell ya ! Shocked !

McCain has a laundry list of failure..to name a few…..He was instrumental in weakening the legal back bench and SCOTUS with his “Gang of 14″ interference in the appointment of conservative judges to protect the original meaning of the Constitution; McCain-Feingold interference in the clear intent of the First Amendment, and his support for regulation of the internet; McCain-Kennedy interference in immigration and defending our borders and nation, opposed official English language then changed his mind, supporting barely disguised amnesty; called water boarding torture and gave away the farm on coercive questioning of terrorists, wants to close Guantanamo Bay and give the terrorist citizen’s rights in civilian courts; voted for the Kyoto treaty, shilled for man made global warming, in favor of cap and trade, and against drilling in ANWR. The gang of 8 etc etc ….

It’s time to pry his hands off the power stick….Kelli needs everyone’s support, get all of your friends in Az to pull the lever for her and send what cash you can. Chamber of Commerce is not gonna be happy if she wins.. I would love to see her win just to see libs fall on the floor screaming with a kicky feet tantrum.

I remember all those sick, elderly people crying in the court room out of fear and desperation because their life savings they had worked so hard to earn was gone. Stolen by Keating.

They did not know what the future held for them and their families.

Keating took just about everything away from them and I have no sympathy for him. He went to prison but their lives were a living hell from then on.

I am grateful for his grandson’s service. And I am sorry for his family’s loss. But it does not wipe out the misery Keating himself brought to this world.

But what I say still stands. I can no longer read about one without thinking of the other. I was thinking of a higher purpose — a debt of honor, not money. The old man dishonored his family just as the grandson honored it.

Why should we be respectful about McCain’s service if his conduct was less than honorable? I don’t care how many years he served. What he did in Congress with respect to the Vietnam War MIAs/POWs is deplorable. Blog from 2013 by a former CIA officer which lays out his misconduct:

You don’t like his policies go at it. You don’t like him as a person call him out. Those things are fair game.

He was in a hell hole of a place. He was tortured as were others in the same place. He was shot down and captured. This by its own nature makes him an American Hero. He survived. He returned to see his family. Then to have a political rival as you or other to then denigrate his service is disgusting. Not only is it disgusting but should be off limits in civil discourse.

I do not like the things he has done in the Senate. If he were my senator I would vote against him. All the things people say in this thread about his political actions are true. But those are the motivators that would have me vote for his replacement.

Female Marines were not sent to combat at that time (that has changed- they will be able to serve at the front lines- be prepared for more body bags), yet I would support my brothers. It was a LONG contentious war, as are most military actions our country has undertaken. You and I have differing opinion on what constitutes a “Hero.” That is the beauty of American, we are entitled to our opinions. Your “disgust” is noted and my opinion of songbird hasn’t changed.

“From 1965 to 1975, nearly 500,000 Marines served in Southeast Asia. Of these, more than 13,000 were killed and 88,000 wounded, nearly a third of all American causalities sustained during the war.”

The link that you provided itself states how flimsy the evidence is using language like “speculate” and “a case can be made.” If a man got an honorable discharge from the service then his service should be honored in the absence of conclusive evidence to the contrary.

What they do afterwards in public life is fair game.

Most men I know respect him for his military service but hate him for his public service.
As more comes out about his military service and what a mediocre pilot he was as well as how his daddy covered for him after he dang near destroyed a carrier, they like him less.
To cast a broad insult like that against many men who were captured and suffered at the hands of the enemy is wrong. The POWs deserve better. Like every other member of the military, they served and sacrificed. Most who became prisoners did so not of their own choice.
Most service members are nameless, faceless, known but to a few, hero’s to their family. The hand full who receive national recognition are a small percentage. The name less and faceless ones earned our respect just as much as Murphy or York. Why insult them?

      Like

    • Keln says:

I disagree with that sentiment. Being captured is an inherent risk in being a pilot. They go deeper behind enemy lines than anyone, and if they get shot down, there is a high probability they will either die or be captured. It’s just like a guy in the infantry getting shot. It’s the risk you take when you fight for your country. In that sense, every man who was wounded, died, fought, or captured in a war is a hero, including McCain.

However, that does not excuse his actions, either following his capture nor as a senator. Those things must be examined on their own merits. And there is plenty to examine about McCain’s time as a POW that is very disturbing.

  23. This poll is not shocking to anyone that lives in AZ. Do NOT believe anything that says AZ is a swing state. I do survey/polling for a living so I have a little insight into this. This poll has a pretty accurate sample. The Rep, Ind, Dem breakdown is about what I would use. The party turnout sample is a little bit art because Ind don’t vote in our primary. Maricopa county is only 59% but 80% of the population so I think that is off. The other counties vote 80% Dem so I think that is influencing the high Sanders number. Age sample uses too many under 45. Hispanic % is too high. Just because our census says 25% Hispanic does NOT mean that is the same percentage of our voting population. This is NOT CA, it is not a hospitable environment for Hispanics, they are not out voting in large numbers.
Here is what I think will happen as the sample gets more accurate. McCain is actually doing worse, but it will be close between him and Ward because of name recognition.
Trump is doing at least 5% better.
Positive vs Negative on Brewer will stay the same.

I am an Arizona voter and was all in to vote for Kelli Ward. Then she dug in her heels, refuses to endorse Trump and on a Facebook thread Sunday before last finally admitted she was aiming for the Mark Levin endorsement. That has pretty well done her in for me… I personally told her on the thread that I was disturbed by this and she kept saying “I will VOTE for the GOP candidate”.. many of us told her Trump is the candidate, why can’t she endorse him.. she continued to repeat the above mantra before admitting she wanted to go with Mark Levin on this… there is also some stories about her medical practice here [she is in my town and was my senate rep] that are bothering me as well., that tell me she may be pulling our legs about being anti-Obamacare [she bragged about Obamacare stimulus bailing out her practice]…….She is also very friendly with Glenn Beck [has appeared on his program]. At this point I am uncertain what I will do, I can’t stand McCain, but frankly right now I LOATHE Flake more than anyone… and we are stuck with him for several years more.

Better a possible GOPe than a definite GOPe. Aren’t we using a similar argument to for people who don’t like Trump? We shouldn’t be hypocrites, and take any chance we can to defeat the establishment. Take the best option.

If she wants to stay in Republican politics she will endorse Trump by June. She can’t join the #NeverTrumpers because that means she will be campaigning for Hillary, and there won’t be any public NeverTrumpers by August and the AZ primary in August 30. So Just give her a couple of weeks. She will see that there is no more funds coming if she opposes Trump.

Just vote McCain out–he has way too much influence. If Ward gets “Flaky” then vote her out before her influence grows. How does this state vote in so many Flake’s? Including McSally, or whatever her name is.

Sometimes it might be better to keep McCain even though I do not like him than to get Ward who seeks endorsement from the likes like Levin. Her association to Beck Levin tells me she is not stable.

Alex Meluskey should be considered. He’s real, not plastic. Will go anywhere to meet voters, endorsed by veterans, has challenged Ward to debate him but she won’t do it. Flake is up in 2018.

Dont worry guys we got this one. This is not 2010 where we have weak and flawed candidates running against him. Plus he fooled a lot of gullible voters with his cozying up to the tea party.

Not this year. McCain will be voted out in the primary. AZ is Trump country and the end of the road for McCain.

The other day I was wondering how this race was going, but figured Mcain must be winning by alot if it wasn’t being talked about. Silly me. Who should I donate to. Ward or Nehlen? Hard to say. Who should Trunp endorse? Both of them. GOPe would cry foul, but Trump should respond.”If you win the primary, I will support you, until then, I treat you like you treated me”. The reaction will be fun to watch. How could they respond?
