      My younger cynical self looked down my nose at this sort of sweetness but now I seek it out. My current favorites are old westerns like Laramie and The Rifleman. So many current programs are just raunchy flash and trash.

        I’m really into the old westerns, too. For a long time, I watched an episode of Have Gun, Will Travel before I went to bed. Netflix stopped streaming it, and I finally decided to make a complaint even though I felt I would probably be ridiculed for it, only to find that there are a whole LOT of people who did exactly the same thing and were mad about it being dropped.

        I love watching old programs. My favorites are Alfred Hitchcock Presents and Twilight Zone. For a while (until the channel switched it), I was hooked on The Untouchables.

          I haven’t had TV for a while – never watched it anyway – so I am devoted to DVD collections. My taste runs mainly to British series and avgjosephine’s comment about ‘sweetness’ seems to fit with the series I’m watching now – “All Creatures Great and Small” based on the writings of British vet James Herriot. Heartwarming, full of life and love and the care of creatures in need.

          Another guaranteed to make you smile is “Are You Being Served?” which may be the founder of the genre.

          I find the old black-and-white format so easy on the eyes, too. I’m just not that keen on the gaudy, color saturated look, I guess. Plus, I’ll admit, it’s nostalgia for the old days.

    Hello all Treepers. In this Holy Week I came into possession of a prayer for The Remedy Against The Spirits of Darkness, Evil Forces and Hatred from St. Paul of Moll. I am passing this on because we are fighting against the forces of evil and hatred and we need all the assistance we can get. For those who believe in the power of prayer I share this and ask you to spread this prayer to everyone you know.

    This isn’t politics, it’s an apology.

    Yesterday, someone voiced a personal contrarian feeling about a re-tweet titled “no need to spill the beans.” I agreed with the contrarian feeling about the re-tweet but was too timid to like the comment and too timid to post a note agreeing with her personal feeling. Today, I went back to the old thread and noticed that the contrarian post had been deleted. I assume by the admins. I just want that person to know that I agree with her. That’s all.

    Forty five years ago, I received a special gift in my life, but one day it was taken from me and I had to make a horrible adjustment. I still celebrate the day that I received a wonderful bundle of joy instead of the day I no longer held that gift. So today I will look in my pocket and find another gift I have held dearly and share it with all of you….and If I had a son again, it would be just like Sundance 🙂

    Just because we are a little “over the hill” does not mean we have “crested” now…or ever will.

    It means we have “matured” just a little bit, with perhaps a slight advantage in humor and wit.

    Our energy has lessened, but our hearts have grown. The plants have been harvested from the “oats” we have sown.

    Our bodies are softer, and a bit saggier, too, but when it comes to Grand parenting, we could out-do most of you.

    Our muscles have shifted to a new hemisphere. What used to go North, is now South, or in the “Rear.”

    We have a few more wrinkles…that can’t be “ironed” out. It’s harder to “hear” what everyone else is talking about.

    But our interest in “life” is ever increasing. Our minds are more “open” to “accepting” and “releasing.”

    We stop more to observe the flowers…and things. We eat a bit more chocolate…because we have found it is “nurturing.”

    We have left our footprints, in the sands of time, a path for some to follow; others to decline.

    Sometimes it was hard…getting up that Hill. The winding road was full of chills and thrills.

    But now as we look over the exquisite view, we have a new perspective to share with all of you…

    Live more fully…Laugh more heartily…Take more chances…Hug more freely…Love without limits…and Dance like there’s no one watching!

    I am posting this reply to a chatter named Mickie who asked how to vote in PA in a thread on THAT subject which was entirely hijacked by the NE issue and it is important she she this reply.

    PA has electronic machines now, they are very simple to use. As it has been a number of years since you voted and it sounds as if you had to register anew the following things will happen: Once inside the polls you will go to table that has the first letter of your surname they will ask you for a form of identification drivers license with the address that matches the address where you registered to vote or a recent bill with your name on it at the address these are two examples. You will then sign the book your signature will be matched and you will be handed a small card which you will in turn hand over to someone who will walk you to an open “voting booth” .At that time you may ask them to show you how to vote or if at anytime you are unsure simply ask them to come assist you. Voting consists of touching a screen to make your selections, you can go forward or backwards you can verify at end it is a very simple process. Once you have submitted your ballot ask the poll worker to come over and verify that it was submitted b4 you leave the room, this will eliminate any worry you may have if you did it right 😉

    I will also post it over in the political daily thread and am hoping between the three locations she sees it.
