Bombshell Expose’ – Conservative Radio: Limbaugh, Ingraham, Hannity and Levin Were All Part of Gang-of-Eight “Gaslighting”…

The New York Times has just laid virtually all of talk radio’s top conservative punditry naked to their enemies by revealing a coordinated effort, between them and top DC politicians, to “tamp-down” opposition to comprehensive immigration reform, and “gaslight” the national republican audience.  A brutal expose’…

rush-limbaughbill-oreilly egoMark Levine - Thumbs Up.

We already knew the aspect of Fox News via Rupert Murdoch, Roger Ailes, Sean Hannity and Bill O’Reilly meeting with Chuck Schumer, Lindsey Graham and Marco Rubio capturing promises to deliver favorable opinion for immigration reform.  – Outlined HERE –  We also knew, and wrote about how Fox Executives manipulated program content (including the blacklisting of amnesty critics) to support the collective agenda.

However, we did not know how far the scope of the influence was extended, nor did we know Rush Limbaugh was a direct participant.  We also did not know that Laura Ingraham and Mark Levin were lobbied to participate.

How would we know?  How would anyone know?  They never told their audience.

None of the aforementioned pundits ever disclosed the nature or content of the lobbying, nor their own independent determination whether to go along with the agenda, or remain willfully blind thereby benefitting the legislative agenda by omission.

In hindsight we can only accept silence as willful blindness.

However, now we do know, many things make a lot more sense about how reactionary all the “conservative” pundits were, notably the Fox Group, when candidate Donald Trump announced his immigration platform to include a border wall, deportation and strict enforcement of immigration law.  Now we know why most pundits reacted with such disdain.

Their opposition, heck, their knee jerk attacks upon Trump for proposing immigration enforcement, seemed stunning in June/July 2015; but now takes on an entirely new light.

Via New York Times […]  The dinner at News Corporation headquarters — which has not been previously reported — and the subsequent outreach to Mr. Limbaugh illustrate the degree to which Mr. Rubio served as the chief envoy to the conservative media for the group supporting the legislation.

The bill would have provided a pathway to American citizenship for 11 million illegal immigrants along with measures to secure the borders and ensure that foreigners left the United States upon the expiration of their visas.

[…] Details of the dinner, and a previous one in 2011, were provided to The New York Times by an attendee of one of the meetings and two people with knowledge of what was discussed at both get-togethers.

None of the attendees agreed to be identified for this article because the conversations were supposed to be confidential.

[…]  As early as March 9, 2011, Mr. Schumer joined Senator Lindsey Graham, Republican of South Carolina and another eventual member of the Gang of Eight, at the Palm restaurant in Manhattan, where they made their case to Mr. Murdoch, Mr. Ailes and Mr. Limbaugh in a private room. The senators argued how damaging the word “amnesty” was to their efforts, and walked Mr. Limbaugh through their vision for an immigration overhaul.

[…] Mr. Rubio also reached out to other conservative power brokers, including the radio hosts Mark Levin and Laura Ingraham, telling them that the legislation did not amount to amnesty. The Fox anchors Sean Hannity and Bill O’Reilly became more supportive.

At the time, The Washington Post reported that Mr. Rubio’s advisers were monitoring to the minute how much time the hosts devoted to immigration, and that “they are heartened that the volume is much diminished.”

Mr. Rubio publicly and privately worked to assuage the fears of Mr. Limbaugh, who on air called him a “thoroughbred conservative” and assured one wary listener that “Marco Rubio is not out to hurt this country or change it the way the liberals are.”  (read full article)

I knew it because Limbaugh was so angry and snotty about Trump and his zealous support Rubio and Cruz. A completely different Rush emerged in the last week or so. Why he would do this and destroy his career is anyone’s guess but he is finished at least as far as I’m concerned.

Not only is having handles a requirement for entry into the power circuit – they create new handles when possible, to silence people or manipulate them as chess-pieces. The best defense is a combination of clean living but the ability to go ten times as dirty as they will, in terms of ripping open secrets to sunlight.

Laura’s silence is probably due to bad promises they extracted, that she felt compelled to honor. “Snowden’s choice”, so to speak.

Trey Gowdy in the church parking lot fall of 2012 @ time of benghazi hearings. Woman with gun walked up to him while he was sitting in his truck as he waited to pick up a family member.
His instincts were spot on and probably only thing that saved his life.

                • Yup. The difference between the Mexican cartels and the Washington cartel (which is disappearing rapidly, BTW) is that instead of “lead or silver” the choice is more like “join the true unemployed 20% or the magic 1%”.

The entrapment attempts are pretty naked (no pun intended) sometimes, but other times they are subtle. Direct deposit offers loads of opportunity for the incentive to show up first, and the bitter end later. If you accept the accounting error, it can always build up to the point where payback is a btch, so to speak, and just doing what you’re told is easier and certainly tempting.

The bottom line is that you need to assume that our “occupation government” now treats us like they would, say, occupied Japan or occupied Germany. Things that used to be on the table for innocent bystanders who provided access to foreign bad guys are now on the table for regular American citizens.

Did not know that about Trey Gowdy, but it explains a lot. The only way to be completely uncorruptible by these people is to write off your loved ones as potential costs of #WAR – or more devastating – as the fuel to go nuclear in case something happens to them. Few people are prepared to go that far – to be willing to accept the downside, and actively plan for it. But if you are willing, this forces the other side down to their last-resort handle – to label the person as crazy.

Watch for good people who your local Unitards label as crazy. They’re potential allies against the dark side. You can get bookoo info from them.

Rush has put on a facade of fairness when it came to Trump the last 6 months or so. And he would call out the good Trump was doing, but anytime he would tack on a ‘and Ted Cruz!’ whether it was justified or not.

I’ve noticed it in the last week or two though as well, the facade is definitely slipping. I think personally he likes Cruz, but all of a sudden he’s become overly supportive and non critical of Rubio. Very interesting indeed.

Keep in mind though while I have no doubt the crux of the NYCrimes article is correct (based on my own prior observations), note that the NY Times wants to separate fox, rush, and right talk radio from his audience ahead of this election, where it still is a useful force against Hillary.

              • Totally agreed.

I’m neutral on Rush – never was much of a fan, but appreciated his insights. I think you’ve got the other side pegged. Thus, the proper response on all of this is to shift the blame back where it belongs – on the evil left that did this. That would be Chucky the evil doll Schumer and the controllers of Pool-Boy Rubio. And remember that all of this immigration puppet-play being directed from the side by commie-in-chief Valerie Jarrett.

Blame the masterminds – not the suckers.

Watch carefully for anything – I mean ANYTHING – that turns up about Rubio’s advisers, handlers, and others in his immediate bubble. This stuff is really helping to create a blame-locator compass back to who is controlling him. He is such an obvious puppet, but that explains so much already.

Think back to gang-of-eight. Before the whole debacle, Rubio seemed way too clueless and inexperienced to be presidential material, despite the Obama-like praise he was getting. Then he starts having all this magical immigration credibility. Then it falls apart, and the gears are visible through the green curtain, and the guy is back to dope status (no pun intended, again). The best way to read this is now becoming obvious. Rubio is not even in charge of his own rise – the guy is a complete Chauncey Gardiner.

                Interesting times, amigos! Interesting times.

It’s not just slipping, his suggested for the debate Cruz monologue the other day was meant for Rubio all along. Rubio ripped into Trump with precisely the same ridicule Limb read on the air. It was an incredible piece from Rush: “He should turn to Trump and say: listen you bloated old man with your fake tan. It’s enough of you clown, etc, etc” I am not exact but it’s very close to what Limb said and Rubio just took it down a small notch. Limb hates Trump, thinks he is a clown like all the other patricians of thought in the GOP and the conservative movement from Will to Levin. For a long time he hid it because people are ratings.

In his terrific book, Private Truths, Public Lies:The Social Consequences of Preference Falsification, Timur Kuran writes about the phenomenon he calls “preference falsification”: People tend to hide unpopular views to avoid ostracism or punishment; they stop hiding them when they feel safe.

Novelist Bret Easton Ellis, for example, recently tweeted: “Just back from a dinner in West Hollywood: shocked the majority of the table was voting for Trump but they would never admit it publicly.” What he describes is preference falsification — but if people stop hiding, it will become a cascade. And Ellis himself has started that process with this tweet. Meanwhile, confronted with PC nonsense, college students have started chanting ”Trump! Trump!” (Law professor Ann Althouse has been predicting this cascade for weeks.)

He may have his conservative opinion, but he appreciates every square inch of New York and it’s people, and loves them all. I’ve never had a Republican candidate who was possible to sell to so many non-traditional Republican voters. In fact, the more I think about it, the more I realize that this is part of the reason Trump is winning. He’s ahead of the curve because he resides so close to where it is being defined. He is LITERALLY the future of conservatism.

Nations provide a firewall against global dysfunction – AS THEY DO RIGHT NOW WITH TRUMP AND AMERICA. Nations allow adaptation to local conditions. Until there is an open, honest, responsible global solution which offers better performance on local autonomy than nations, I’ll stick with nations and nationalism/internationalism.

I think they are consciously and unconsciously pulling for Trump. I see lots of support for him in the comments there, plus I have watched the staff photos of him over the months there. They photograph him a lot above the horizon line which is a heroic portrayal – that is, as bigger than life.

It’s the immigration deal and some other stuff. When you read a Yahoo headline about the migrant problem in Europe, and the comments show not one single down-vote for complaining and concern, you know those are not all conservatives. Not one single down-vote.

Also read the NYT article on MPB of MSNBC . I noticed a lot of lefties are sick of the racial divide. Look at the comments there. They are over it. We have reached critical mass on that.

Plus the Disney stuff. And the awareness the blue collar man is getting effed and will be voting Trump. They care. They want to identify with that class. It’s cool to.

Plus he’s their man. New York born and bred. I think they feel some pride.

They will still defend their man Obama publically, but privately they are going to vote for Trump.

We need and must have in future news media that clearly separates opinion from fact very plainly. Otherwise they are not news media at all. And should get no “press privileges” at all.

It isn’t impossible. It isn’t unheard of. Once upon a time there was a page for editorial opinion, and pages for news. It has always been abused, yes, but now the media has stopped abusing the rules of responsible journalism: they have thrown them away.

There is no special right nor special privilege written into founding documents calling for “freedom of the propagandists” only for “freedom of the press.” What is the “press?”
Those who print or provide news. What is “news?” The facts of what has happened, is happening. All else is opinion/propaganda.

Is it, consistently? Or is it just enough to make us think they are conservative? John McCain got away with that for years, as have countless others in Congress; but people are more awake now. I’m in favor of looking at “conservative” talk radio with a very critical eye. I don’t like what I’m hearing about Rush, Levin, and Beck, and that was before this story came out.

Yet, they should have reported such meetings immediately to we-the-people so we would know that information was being suppressed, who was orchestrating that, and who agreed to it (Fox, etc.). If Rush didn’t overtly agree to it, the next excuse will probably be that he was sworn to secrecy. (I place Hannity in a little different category because he works for Fox.) The just installed a “Safety and Justice” panel of social justice warriors and feminists to advise them on whose free speech to suppress. They are banning conservatives’ accounts for no reason, suppressing conservatives’ tweets, manipulating timelines, and suppressing #hashtags they don’t like. Facebook is doing the equivalent over there, even co-operating with Angela Merkel in Germany to suppress opposition to the Muslim “refugee” invasion of Europe. I lost interest in Levin, Rush and Hannity the minute they all started touting the Cruz and Rubio are Natural Born Citizens line. Look, I’m not the brightest bulb on the tree by far but I know what a natural born citizen is and as Levin loves to call himself a constitutional scholar, he should know better as well. Americans (especially natural born Americans) aren’t going to vote for the Canadian or the anchor baby. Some of us are even old enough to remember being taught what NBC meant in school. Rush and Hannity have both been around long enough to know better as well. Hell, their livelihood is politics. Yes, yes, yes Incisor! When these so-called experts started trying to tell us not to believe our lyin’ eyes about the perfectly obvious NBC requirement, I knew the fix was in. Their favorite line, “well, it’s not settled law or it is settled law” grated on me about as bad as anything this season.

Of course it’s settled law, and of course Cruz can’t change the circumstances of his birth and the more the pundits roar, the more obvious it is. Why did Cruz even throw his hat in the ring in the first place? Why?

Rubio’s issue is equally wrong but for slightly different reason, and does anyone else think it is very strange that two men, both without credentials to meet natural born citizen requirement, are two of the last standing in the GOP Presidential race of 2016? Two of them? Both with Cuban history? In this the year of the illegal immigration push-back?

No need to speculate as to why two candidates who cannot meet the NBC requirement are among the last candidates standing … lots of reasons for that I’m sure, but I gave up believing in coincidence many years ago.

This time it was Mrs. Clinton who emerged from the first southern primary with a clearer path to the nomination. With 99 percent of the vote counted, Mrs. Clinton won 73.5 percent, to 26 percent for Mr. Sanders. Turnout was about 370,000, according to Edison Research — modest compared with the 532,000 ballots cast in the Clinton-Obama primary race here in 2008, and well below the record 743,000 votes cast in South Carolina’s Republican primary last Saturday, which Mr. Trump won.

I thought I was very well-informed on the candidates and what’s been going on in Congress until I wandered over here last August. Wow, were my eyes opened! So I’ve been hanging out here for six months, reading every article and every comment. I’ve learned quite a bit but I don’t know if I could repeat all that reading again! I feel sorry for people who just came here recently because they have a lot of back research to do to get the big picture.

I seriously doubt that Laura Ingram is being exposed to the same information that we are from Sundance. You’re right about this. It’s worth mentioning that everything in broadcasting is for sale and the people who work there live or die on ratings and deal making with people who would make mafia bosses proud. They’re all—and this includes Rush—just talent (albeit highly paid talent) who work for others. Meetings like this are not all that uncommon in broadcasting because, after all, the spin is the substance of the medium. I don’t recall either Hannity or Rush soft-pedaling immigration or amnesty although Rush has defended Rubio. They or their producers are regular visitors to the Treehouse. I think they’d better respond to this.

They’d better respond pronto. Though we’ve been noticing Fox’s lack of coverage of amnesty and their preference for Jeb! and Rubio, it only recently came out that the powers that be at Fox were definitely pro-illegal immigration/amnesty. So all this time, these talk show hosts were sitting on the information that Rubio and the gang had asked a major news network to suppress coverage, and that that network complied. I don’t know the extent to which the talk show hosts complied because I don’t listen to them (nor Fox; I know about Fox from alternative media coverage of their coverage). This is an outrageous betrayal of the American people. Why didn’t Levin or Rush and company say SOMETHING? Because they didn’t, they look complicit. All trust is shattered.

I saw this show about a week ago. I almost didn’t watch it because it was titled something like Can Ted Cruz be President” – something like that, which piggy backed a similar 1 hr special on Trump. I was glad I watched, and at one point DML says, because the facts discussed were so negative to Cruz, something along the lines of “I don’t want to turn this into a total Cruz bashing, but got to call him out on this.” Again, totally paraphrasing as it was at least a week ago when I saw it.

I was bummed that I missed almost all of his show on Friday because the show had a different title… it was “They come to America III”. The part I saw showed how awful the northern border is and also East Dearborn, MI and how the Muslims have completely taken over that city, the residents are NOT making any attempt to assimilate, and how they are allowed to bring in multiple wife’s etc. and go on our welfare systems, while living in $300K homes and drive Range Rovers. It’s so sickening it really is beyond COLD ANGER sometimes!

Yes, and so is more of the GOPe.

Our Principles PAC, is founded by Katie Packer, a veteran Republican strategist who served as deputy campaign manager on Mitt Romney’s 2012 presidential campaign.

This PAC since Friday, has been running a lot of radio ads against Trump.(We vote Tues. so I assume the entire “SEC” is getting hit.) The ad she’s running, takes clips from Trump even 30+years ago, up until before he ran, (i.e. Trump is a private citizen) and then pieces them with questions and statements from Rush, and others. It’s quite a big lie, and is obviously fake to anyone half way paying attention.

  31. Too many weird coincidences. First of all this is the NYT…hello? No named sources as usual….I would not put this past them to do something like this to blow up the whole conservative media market, they’ve been trying to do it for DECADES now. But today Trump says he wants to push for laws to be able to sue the media for libel? I know there are already laws for that, so maybe Trump was TROLLING NYT knowing this story was coming out….to lay the trap for those in the conservative media (Trump, Levin, etc) to suddenly say, “Hey, wait a minute, I’M BEING SLANDERED!!” and then come to Trump’s side of things? I don’t know, it’s all very insane right now. Trump is brilliant and he knows when and how to play his cards….I suspect he’s playing some cards right now, somehow, someway when it comes to this story. Sometimes it’s GOOD to have lib friends…they might have given him a heads up!

This is not only a major breach of trust, but also compliance in covering up dangers facing America.

And Rush has made some very complimentary comments about Rubio, including that he’s a “full-throated conservative.” How in the world could he think that after the Gang of Eight, and then after this? They all appear to be just playin’ the game.

There’s just one little problem with this. Having listened to Limbaugh and Hannity for years, and Levin off and on, it seems to me that all of them have taken long term stands against amnesty and immigration reform unless the border was secure. And I find that the NY Times track record on hit pieces and outright falsehoods speaks for itself. Adding to that is the continuous and ongoing effort on the part of people on the left to discredit and shut down conservative talk radio that has been ongoing for decades. If something like this had actually happened it would have come out and been dragged all over the media a long time ago. But I will reserve my opinion until Monday, when the airwaves open up and the people involved speak for themselves, which they will.
