Can somebody please explain to me why some polls (on Breitbart, etc.) are showing Ted Cruz up by 10 points more or less, in Texas? I thought Texans were smarter than that.

bull s**t durham…do you people own this site!? And before you cast disparaging remarks about FOOLING THE SUCKERS UP IN MAPLE LEAF LAND P L E A S E KNOW WHAT YOU ARE SPEAKING ABOUT! ALSO, YOUR MID PARAGRAPH TELLS EVERYONE WHO HAS A BRAIN, THAT YOU DO NOT. THE ‘SANCTUARY’ AS YOU REFER TO THAT houses ukranian nazis/weirdos etc., SHOWS YOUR IGNORANCE AND POOR EDUCATION. CANADA IS HOME TO THOUSANDS OF ‘DAMN YANKIES’ THAT CANADA DID NOT WANT IN THE FIRST PLACE, INCLUDING DRAFT DODGERS? IT IS THESE KINDS OF IGNORANT COMMENTS WHICH YOU HAVE MADE THAT HELP TO FOSTER ILL FEELINGS BETWEEN THE US AND CANADA. BUT THEN, THE CANADIANS KNOW, AND HAVE ALWAYS KNOWN, THAT POOR MANNERS AND IGNORANCE ARE FROM A LESS THAN PERFECT EDUCATION AND PITY IS SHOWN FOR THOSE THAT ARE AFFLICTED WITH THIS TYPE OF POOR JUDGEMENT.

I have read many of your comments; agreed with some and not agreed with others. A difference in opinion which I respect. BUT when I read someone disparaging a country you know, obviousely, NOTHING about, then whatever else you write does not mean anything important. Comments on this site from most other people seem to be much more elequent in their content AND much more positively knowlegeable about what they comment on. YOU DO NOT!

It is much easier to read.

If any of us did something like that on our taxes the IRS would be hounding us. Especially since it was done over and over again. In the age of computers no decent bookkeeper should have missed this blantant flouting of the campaign finance rules.

This past year the IRS managed to add two extra zeros to an amount and send the inflated amount to the state. We spent several weeks going around and around on that one IRS mistake. Luckily it was a payment from a small business and we were able to get them to talk directly to the guy in the state revenue department and get it straightened out.

Someone in the Cruz Campaign is either bad at accounting, not paying attention to campaign contribution rules or blatantly ignoring them. The list of individual contributors who kept giving after they reached their contribution limit will require refunds and then a written explanation for each, correct? I also noticed several people who made a one-time contribution in the same amount of $5,400. I wonder why $5,400?

I could see missing a duplicate or two back in the dark ages when accounting was done by hand. However with the accounting programs and computers that can do the sorting by name and address, there is ZERO excuse for so many violations.

It is not as if the maximum of $2,700 is not well known. Also Cruz and his wife met while campaigning for Bush so they would have had plenty of exposure to the various ins and outs of campaigning.

This list of donors is really amazing … I’m guessing that some of these donors are on a monthly draft, hence the multiple entries. however, they all add up to the allowable limit, and to see the large number of repeat donors to whom refunds are now due is further proof that Cruz is not right for the Presidency.

When I think of all the receipts and records I keep just for our own taxes, and this big political campaign has lost control altogether? Oh my gosh .. the incompetence! And that of course is being charitable.

Over the many years before 911 we visited Canada often for vacations and were always treated wonderfully. We enjoyed the beautiful pristine scenery and the friendliness of the staff at places we chose to stay and partake of good food.

I also enjoyed the businesses of Canadians who frequented my business during the times when the currency exchange rates were favorable and always enjoyed visiting.

I do not believe the current issue with Mr. Cruz has anything to do with our great neighbors to the north and our Canadian friends should be disparaged in any way. It only serves to create ill feelings between what has been historically been great neighbors.

dickA. THANK YOU. CANADA AND THE U.S. HAVE, IN FACT enjoyed good relations. When someone on this site does disparage Canadians, broadly, thats a different story. BilDurham spoke on things he KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT. I took exception to his ignorant statements and told him so. However I have read other comments he has made with great appreciation. I also told him that. Canada has always welcomed US citizens into Canada to shop when the US dollar outweighs Canadian dollars! And, vise versa [which isn’t often enough]. And to enjoy our great country and its’ people. We have alwys been portrayed as great and welcoming people! Mr. Cruz has fostered such negative contraversy which of course is understandable when people criticize him. BUT DO NOT SEND HIM BACK TO CANADA. I have read so much on his Canadain citizenship and from what Canadas rules state on the records TED CRUZ IS N O T ELIGABLE TO RUN FOR THE US PRESIDENTIAL OFFICE. LOOK INTO IT FYI??

Other snide comments prior to your great post are subject to ignorance along with buldurham! They too do NOT know what they are talking about. I may not like Trudeau but to say he is a metrosexual [whatever the hell that means?] is totally uncalled for and the writer also showed their ignorance! WHY CAN’T EVERYONE JUST GET ALONG? We ALL have differing opinions…I LIKE DJTRUMP AND HOPE HE WINS but many do not! Cruz has made so many underhanded stupid mistakes and outright lied so many times I think he deserves what he gets. I cover ALL things surrounding your Presidential election and find it so interesting. As in all things, you have to ‘separate the wheat from the chaff’! I am pulling for DJTrump all the way. I may not like some of his comments BUT you will be fortunate indeed if he is elected—-in MY opinion—-.

PEOPLE, KEEP CANADA OUT OF YOUR FRUSTRATIONS AND NEGATIVISMS WHEN COMMENTING? IT DOES NOT BODE WELL FOR CROSS BORDER RELATIONS! And those of you that have these negative and UNFOUNDED snotty opinions about Canada please keep them to yourselves. NOONE wants to read them and it only makes the writer appear uneducated and ignorant.

PARRALAX — Maybe I should go have a shot of [tequila???) LOL I guess that is your drink of choice!!!?

In closing I have never read so much interesting and concise information, and GREAT comments, and it far outweighs the ‘crap’ that some lower themselves to put in print. One thing I have always felt was the fact that US Citizens really have cared and expounded upon loving their country. My Father was born in Nebraska and had the same feelings. Something that Canada lacks, in MY opinion. However I am hearing that US citizens are less than enamoured with their country at this time in history?? Perhaps that is again just ‘electioneering’? Be that as it may, your kind words outweigh the negative and I thank you. Keep up the good, positive, work in bringing the facts to everyone that wishes to read POSITIVE and NOT erroneous statements on this great site.

      HAVE A GREAT DAY.

This is a bunch of globalist grifters and place of birth, residence growing up, parents place of birth is secondary. They are crooks and could have come from anywhere. It is a mindset not nationality per se. They want to do what they please anywhere they wish and money and power is the goal. Look at Murdoch as an example. Borders and culture slow them down so they want them gone.

Many, some wealthy land owners in SGA do not want a gas pipeline running through their property. One large beautiful farm, with a prominent wealthy local owner, is up for sale and all the prize ($$$$) cattle have been sold because of this pipeline.

There are hazards, explosions, environmental problems with pipelines. Safety is not much if any better than with trucking or railroad transport of oil.

Trump is right – the US should charge Canada or any other pipeline company to help cover liability and clean up.

(Wonder what the US.gov and EPA will do about their own actions messing up the river in Colorado? Wonder if the guy in charge was a habitual legalized pot user?)

It’s not devastating. I use to land survey for pipelines. They bring in a trencher and the trench is no more than a couple feet wide and 10′ deep, they lay the pipe and cover it with dirt.

I watched pipeline being installed in Oregon and I can agree Irving, that you are correct. The landscape returned within 10 years and you can’t tell where the pipeline was installed. It took no time for the hundreds of miles of pipe to be laid and farmers and ranchers were financially compensated for the 6 foot wide swath of land.

It was a win-win situation for private property owners, the government, the gas & oil companies and all the citizens who rely on the fuel in their lives.

My biggest fear, is that the pipeline structures will be allowed to disintegrate along with the rest of our infrastructure and that in 50 years time, there might be some disastrous consequences. But then, that’s what the EPA is supposed to be in charge of (s/)

That is why states must have strict laws to set standards for maintenance and continuing supervision. They must be continuously inspected. This is a very good job where I live. Of course some states do not make this happen especially if they have never had any explosions! Pipelines should never be built nor maintained on the cheap.

I agree. IMO, the infrastructures have been allowed to deteriorate because too much local and district control has been regulated out of existence by the government and the government has taken over the duties.

The narrative is always along the lines of: ‘the government has the money to maintain Federal land, bridges, pipelines etc., etc., so you poor locals, just suck it up and let Big Brother take care of all that for you’ and it is easy to see the reality of the narrative in the decline and rot of our infrastructures.
