Fine Is A Tax For Doing Wrong

About Patriot Dreamer

“When you see that trading is done, not by consent, but by compulsion – when you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing – when you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors – when you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don’t protect you against them, but protect them against you – when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice – you may know that your society is doomed.” ~Ayn Rand *************************************************** In the battle between good intentions vs. unintended consequences….UC always win. ~Sharon

  1. Love this!

When is a fine not a fine? When it’s an illegal tax for not obeying an unconstitutional law.

  5. Yes, so excited to pay my fine this year. We’re stuck in the hole — I’m a contractor and don’t have employer sponsored insurance available to me. Looked at the exchange, the best plan they offered us was 1200 a month with a 6500 deductible. We pay as we go for our family’s medical needs, as we receive a 40% discount from our providers for paying cash. If we HAD the insurance, we’d be paying more for the services until we hit the deductible, PLUS paying the 1200 a month! Its ridiculous.
