Donald Trump is by far the best communicator in this political campaign. His stump speeches began and continue as a form or performance art. We’re getting Trump playing Trump having a great time—and having a great time doing it. But now that we get the Trump brand, he can comfortably scale back the sales pitch and show us a different Trump. In this speech he’s treating his audiences as “insiders”, speaking directly to them (and us) as compatriots rather than just constituents. There’s a big difference in this. By dropping the campaigner role and just speaking normally to an audience, he surrenders a lot of the power that comes with the other form of address. Most politicians cling to the campaigner’s “roll distance” because they’re afraid to get as close to their audiences as Trump is doing here. You can’t fake this when you let people up this close. You have to really like and accept the people you’re talking to. And most importantly, you audience has to return the favor. This is why it’s so risky. Obviously, here before this audience, Trump does. This is something Reagan could do quite well. Bill Clinton can do it. Hillary Clinton couldn’t do this in a million years.

I think it doesn’t matter what Trump’s position on ethanol is. This is an election about MAJOR issues

      • Illegal immigration, the wall & refugees
      • muslim jihad
      • Trade imbalance & the economy
      • End to donor influence

If Trump wins iowa by calling for more subsidies, I support that. If Trump wins Iowa by calling for less subsidies, I support that. Stacked against the issues that will determine whether or not we still have a country, the ethanol question is irrelevant. Just my opinion.

Fenian, I am completely with you re ethanol. This country is facing issues that may destroy us if not addressed, and soon. Trump is the only candidate who is not already bought and paid for by the cabal that now runs things–Wall Street/CoC/K-Street lobbyists, etc. I don’t care what his ethanol policy is (personally I’m not for ethanol subsidies) but I sure don’t want to get sidetracked on issues like ethanol or whether Trump said 2nd Corinthians or 2 Corinthians, or whatever. These things are meaningless in the big picture and we need to focus on the big picture like a laser. We all know that the GOPe has plans to steal this race for Jeb Bush at the convention so we all have to do our maximum to help Trump sweep things so that cannot happen. I was pleased to see the Palin endorsement and think it is important. Besides, it will cause Levin, Limbaugh, and the rest of the self-described “conservative” talking heads to become apoplectic. Go Trump!

I think you’re absolutely right. I mean Trump is the last resort. We know what we’re getting with all other candidates and Washington. Trump is the only option for true reform. If that’s the case then fine, lie to the media, the sheeple, the dems if that’s what it takes. Too many stupid people that still think there’s time.

Trump has done this to a degree with the Democrats in NY and other areas to get by – and not actually lie – but divert them to a more positive subject. He writes about this himself in the Art of the Deal.

Check out a recent video by Stefan Molyneux “The Untruth about Donald Trump”

It is a great video where he thoroughly describes all of the stupid actions of the mainstream media (MSM) towards Trump during this race – and in an entertaining way (he is not boring to listen to).

USA will either be invaded and taken over by others or will continue being run by big banks and foreign interest who are gutting our economy and turning us into a 100% service debtor nation with the middle class footing the bill.

And BTW, seeing that ZERO Conservatives have ever closed our borders, THERE ARE ZERO TRUE CONSERVATIVES. Not one of them has ever done a darn thing about the borders. Until Trump came along.

America is GONE, the American dream is DEAD and we are fighting over the refuge. Bickering about who is more Conservative is like fighting over treasures in a GARBAGE DUMP. Politicians have ruined this country for DECADES.

Once Trump fixes the trade imbalance, I suggest the Iowa corn farmers grow non-GMO corn to feed the world’s livestock and migrate away from fuel additives – especially with fracking, the domestic fuel supply created by it, and $28. a barrel crude. Rethink the Keystone pipeline too. Do we really need dirty tar sand oil via an expensive pipeline?
I have every confidence in Trump to do the right thing.

        • Here’s a little truth that will sooth all fear based on what happened to Ron Paul vs Trump:

I like Ron Paul. But keep in mind Ron Paul was not a savvy fighter. He was a politician and a doctor. He was no match for and he was blind-sided by rich elite and ruthless businessmen cut-throats with their minions and muscle who are behind politics. We don’t have to worry about that with Trump, at least not in the way that things happened TO Ron Paul. Things don’t happen TO Trump. Trump learned long ago: You can be moved by things or you can move things. He’s proactive and has the money and brains to be.

Trump is not MOVED BY things, Trump MOVES THINGS.

Trump is not a politician, he’s a world-class business man. Savvy businessmen are cunning and cut-throat and certainly on par, and in Trump’s case superior, to playing the games the politicians play. Thus far we have witnessed one of the best, Trump has turned the game upside down on them.

It’s sort of up to Iowans to decide whether they want to become totally irrelevant. If Cruz wins the caucuses, it’ll almost make winning in Iowa a counter-indicator, like, if you want to win the nomination, the first thing you have to do is lose the Iowa caucuses. At that point their quadrennial cottage industry is over, and politicians won’t have to worry much about Iowans’ concerns.

        • I think it is quite possible that Huckabee and Santorum will pull a lot more evangelicals than folks are expecting. Not enough to win but certainly possible between the two of them 10%. That 10% won’t be coming out of Trump’s portion, but of Cruz’.

They say that past Iowa polls seem to be around 10% off (in the minus) than the actual results. This Mormon Glenn Beck with Canadian Cruz won’t bode well in Iowa. When it’s all said and done, Iowa folks want authenticity and honesty and will veer away from the cultic religious style and flip-flopping politician like Cruz who was born in CANADA. I see a loss for Cruz in Iowa, he may take 3rd place however. Add 10% to Carson and you’ve got him on par with Cruz, and really Carson has always been Iowas’ Huckabee or Santorum. NOT Cruz. Cruz is a fringe candidate.

My gawd, even their own governor who said he won’t endorse anyone at this point has came out and said NOT CRUZ. That is HUGE.

      “Deceitful, corrupt, two faced”;
Trump has a masterful way of attacking without saying a thing; When mentioning the Gov said don’t vote for Cruz, Trump acknowledged it was over ethanol, but ADDED his OWN assumptions for the Govoners attack; “Perhaps there were other reasons too …”
That immediately makes one assume the Gov thinks Cruz is “Deceitful, corrupt, two faced”. Was a brilliant add on. Very harmful.

No politician can fight Trump and win. He is in a league of his own.

—-“left/right” combo punches by Trump — very, very smart. No why? The Left and Right have met together in the middle and shook hands in an unholy alliance with cheap labor Globalism. The left/right media fail to understand that Americans only want one “ism”, not socialism mixes with big money fascism, but Patriotism and that is why Donald is surging.

It really is us against them. The Donald is reaching a comfort level on stage that has not been seen, since Reagan burst on the scene and called out Jimmy Carter for what he was. An abject mess. Well… Carter was fifty times better than this poser in chief, and Trump is rewriting history. I really do believe that we’ll face a brave new world and correct the abominable mistakes of the past twelve years. I beginning to see hope, and it feels great. Trump 2016

If you remember just a couple months ago some people would say Trump takes some shots at people, this is great but then would say he doesn’t finish them or bring up everything. The truth is that he is great at taking jabs, get you thinking about issues, dangling little nuggets of info out there. Think how he has done this with everyone, Bush by the way who he hasn’t finished yet, Carson who he finished, same nuggets out there for Hillary, and now the stuff with Cruz. Started small and now today’s performance how was that for trying to finish someone? Did he leave anything out? Soft spoken, succinct, to the point, and pretty devastating.

Never thought I would say this about our country, but is this what it feels like in Russia sometimes with their state run media? It sure looks like we’re finding out that our MSM is government run, with their agendas and trying to influence policy. Especially with Palin last night saying she was told what she could and cannot say, or the Media would have buried her more, as if that was going even be possible. People really need to wake up to what Trump is showing us, were basically controlled Zombies to their agendas and propagandizing.

I said it before. We citizens need to set rules to keep an honest press:
      News=Just the facts
Opinion= opinion, but must be STATED that it is opinion
Any “press” that refuses to follow this people’s mandate simply qualifies as “entertainment” and gets NO PRESS PASSES

Pretty soon given the path we’ve been on, the weatherman won’t tell us a tornado is headed our way because he will be too busy blathering global warming.
We need to wake up to the fact that the privileges of the press are being abused and we can’t let that go on.

    • MSM is confused. It was the McCain campaign that tried to tell Palin what to say. It drove her nuts. She was trying to be a team player. As I listened to her speak at Trump’s rally, I was thinking, “She could have done this for McCain, but she didn’t sound Establishment enough for his idiot advisers.” I also thought, “Let Sarah be Sarah! Yay!”

  33. As I have said. Iowa, only matters if Trump wins. Anyone else wins it, and that person will not become the nominee, let alone president. But the Establishment has set the battle up in a way, that makes a Trump win there, a trigger to a domino effect, where he becomes unbeatable after a victory in Iowa.

Its not about the delegates, its about – The psychological effect of the win at this point. And its only this because the Establishment, including “Ted” Cruz threw so much disproportionate weight into Iowa.

    Trump understands all this.

  34. The woes of Ted Cruz:

Not getting Sarah Palin’s endorsement was bad enough. But Governor Terry Branstad admonishment to his state NOT to vote for Cruz is absolutely DEVASTATING. Cruz won’t win Iowa. He will be lucky to come in 3rd.

All self-inflicted. Lying and cheating but most of all publicly cursing a good man’s soul like he and his team did to Trump has brought down this curse upon himself.

Sad to say there’s more woes to come for Ted Cruz.

Today Gentle Ben was on TV and, with that sly little smile of his, said something like “I think you’re all gonna be surprised by the Iowa results.” I’m sure he doesn’t think he’ll win… so I assume he’s thinking 2nd place, which would obviously be a nice comeback on his part.
