Finally – Leon Panetta To Appear in Closed-Door Session With Benghazi Committee…

Nothing will come of it, but it is still interesting to point out that for the first time EVER former CIA Director Leon Panetta will give testimony to congress about Libya.

It is important to note that Panetta and Hillary Clinton worked together on Operation Zero Footprint, the covert weapons running and regime change operation which began in March 2011 as a result of President Obama authorizing via presidential “finding memo“.

Hillary Rodham Clinton, Leon Panetta

Clinton and Panetta worked closely together during their Libyan intervention and overthrow of Muammar Gaddafi.   ~See The Benghazi Brief~

After Panetta left the CIA, General Petraeus took over and was ‘technically‘ in charge of the CIA on the night of the Benghazi attack 9/11/12.   However, Petraeus was removed from testifying before congress by the affair with Paula Broadwell which led to his resignation.  Mike Morell took over as interim CIA chief two days before the testimony.

It was Morell who actually testified publicly before congress.  Immediately thereafter Morell went to work for CBS and also for Hillary Clinton (*wink*wink*), and was replaced by John Brennan.

PanettaObamaCIAWASHINGTON DC – Former Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and ex-CIA Director David Petraeus will be interviewed this week in a pair of closed-door sessions of the House’s Select Committee on Benghazi, the panel announced on Monday.

Petraeus will answer questions on Wednesday. Panetta, who also served as head of the CIA before taking the reins at the Pentagon, will appear before the committee on Friday.

[…] In addition to Panetta and Petraeus, the committee will also interview Charlene Lamb, a former State Department official in charge of diplomatic security, and ex-Pentagon chief of staff Jeremy Bash. Those interviews, on Jan. 7 and 13, will also occur behind closed doors.

Bash has never been interviewed by any of the seven other congressional committees that have previously investigated the 2012 attack in Benghazi, the committee said. (read more)

Which is why secret testimony is so important.

Leon Panetta is an honest man, one of the few honest Democrats, but he’s blowing smoke if he thinks Rubio Gowdy is going to do anything to harm the UniParty’s chances, and that means if they can’t get an Establishment, bought and paid for candidate, across the finish line, they’ll cover up for the other Establishment candidate — Hillary..

      • Agreed. Uniparty is just checking to see who knows what, in case any if could endanger Hillary, if it showed up in Trump’s waiting room or inbox.

See something and say something, then Hillary is warned and you get a Uniparty bullseye on your back. Plus, this stamps a laughable “top secret” on the truth.

Don’t tell them, then any later testimony to the contrary or about missing items can be screamed at by the DNC and Team Pantsuit as a lie or an omission.

Now I understand why that Brit stiffed the FBI on all that he knew. This is the exact same investigative CYA she did there. .gov = Team Cankles.

Why are the even doing the kabuki act any more? Nobody came back from intermission after the lights dimmed. Everybody is milling around in the lobby, stumping for Trump.

No, he is not an honest man. He sold his soul to the Democrat Party in 1971 and never looked back. He has served, unconditionally for Leftist/Marxist/Communist within that party since then. Nope.

          Sorry people, but… IT’S A MOVIE!!!
          .
Since when did movies become such a “reliable source” of truth and honest information?!? I’m constantly astonished and amazed that people in this country watch a movie, or read a book and consider the information as the gospel truth without any further research on the matter?
          .
Sadly, we will NEVER know the whole truth behind Benghazi, Fast and Furious, nor any of the other corrupt goings on during this corrupt administration. We don’t even know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, who Alibama is or where he was born, his true religious beliefs, nothing. Has anyone seen a VALID birth certificate for Obama? (Don’t even try to tell me about that known forgery posted on Whitehouse (.) gov).
          .
We elect a guy, twice, as our “leader” who nobody really knows anything about and than expect him to tell the truth? EVERYTHING about Alibama is a sham. His past history has been locked away so we can’t find out. WHY? Your best bet anymore is to assume — EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS ADMINISTRATION IN SPECIFIC AND OUR POLITICIANS IN GENERAL IS A MANIPULATED LIE — until proven otherwise, and I seriously doubt that you will find that proof in a movie. Even if you do and you site a movie as a source, you are going to get laughed at by serious researchers.

Most Americans are not serious researchers. So what this movie might do for most Americans is show them a completely different narrative than what they have been fed by the MSM. If told as the book was written, it is a powerful story – and it is the truth, from the ex-military security contractors’ perspective. And make no doubt about it, they are heroes. Americans still love their heroes. This will stick with them, and the next time some talking head starts spouting lies about Benghazi…many Americans who have seen this movie will AT LEAST know that there is another story out there – a very compelling one.

Whether or not there are any political ramifications from this movie, whether or not we’ll ever know what happened here in DC and how many are to blame for leaving Americans at the mercy of terrorists, this is one part of the story that the politicians had no control over. These guys are American heroes, and their story needs to be told.

“Since when did movies become such a “reliable source” of truth and honest information?!?”

Movies, books, eyewitness reports, barroom storytelling, are all accounts which can be true or untrue but which are nonetheless extremely valuable because they provide historical context to events being studied. The point with movies is that, taken by themselves, they can only give a one-dimensional view of an event, but when taken in context with a number of different accounts a useful narrative begins to emerge that you couldn’t otherwise get. This is how research is done and, in such turbulent times, it’s something we should all do. Remember it was an isolated blogger who discovered Prof. Gruber’s comments about how he intentionally designed Obamacare to be fraud on the American people. We can thank Sundance for doing much of this important work, but we can do it to. The truth is out there—you just have to find it.

The key aspect was regarding the ‘stand down’ order. If you watched multiple interviews, the survivors of the battle have been consistent since day one on this topic. All three men consulted on the film and were asked specifically about the accuracy about that part of the film. It is faithful to the book they wrote on the topic…and their Congressional testimony. As one of the three noted, the Sub-Committee accepted everything they said and put it in their findings. Except the stand down order. A good question would be, ‘why discount that, when everything else was deemed credible’.

I have believed from the get-go that Hillary was ORDERED to stand down in Benghazi. If I’m right, the flaw in her character is that she wanted the presidency (which she’d have never been nominated for had she disobeyed) more than she cared about those men’s lives (and subsequently America’s reputation). She should have sent in the marines anyway and resigned.

I suspect somebody got to her, because she is a different Kirstin Powers now. She sticks to the party line (ala Mara Liasson) and will defend Democrats if they’re caught on film shooting Smokey the Bear and setting a forest fire. What’s ironic, is that Baeir, Hume, Will, Krauthammer are no different. They defend the Establishment just as staunchly. Any truth we the people get, we have to ferret out for ourselves.

Had these people been able to hole up like that, even Obama couldn’t have ignored the attack and would have had to send in the marines. Or am I being naive? Goal of meetings and discussion is to promote the movie and someone probably got a nice kickback, future deal, or family member in an upcoming Michael Bay movie. Maybe they agreed to help with an upcoming false flag who the hell knows, but the coincidence of timing is strange at best…

Hillary/Obama had many options to help the Americans under attack in Benghazi. They did not make use of ANY of them.

There was a committee of people that should have been called on immediately, people trained for this purpose, to coordinate a response between the different government agencies during a terrorist attack. They were trained for JUST THIS PURPOSE, and they were shut out.

There was a team of first/fast response people, trained for JUST THIS PURPOSE, to be the first ones to head out to help in case of an attack. The gentleman in charge of that team testified when Greg Hicks testified. He was grabbing his gear, getting ready to head out when he heard about the attack in Benghazi – he was told he and his team were not needed.

And now, we have the email from the DoD stating that military assets were ready to go – just give the word. Hillary never sent them.

Why in the world is THIS woman even in contention to become the President and Commander in Chief of the United States of America?!?!

      • Jack Long says:

If the military assets were outside the international borders, Hillary didn’t have the authority to send them.

The only person who can issue an order to start a military intervention that crosses an international border is POTUS. This order is called a Cross Border Authority (CBA).

Those forces ‘spinning up’ in Sigonella were waiting for a CBA that never came.

Rather than looking at Benghazi as a result of a decision made, after careful analysis, not to send military assets, try thinking about it as a result of a important document not being signed..

After that, run through some possible explanations of why that document wasn’t signed.

Also, play with scenarios that could possibly explain the relieving of commands of a general and an admiral in the midst of that crisis that involve those commanders waiting for a document to be signed.

The end all/ be all question about Benghazi is if a CBA was signed off or not by POTUS.

You might be right about the mechanics, but I suspect the motive for stand down orders and/or not having CBA were based on the political calculation that they could bluff their way through a few casualties, but military action (which could result in shot down planes and helos) would attract massive media attention. The facts would get out. Much easier to let the little people die than to be impeached for arming Al Qaeda.

            That’s what I think, too.

Obama’s team didn’t want a disaster like the Carter hostage rescue attempt in Iran right before the election. I’m guessing they were afraid of stingers.

My point is, though, it was Obama’s call. They weren’t spun up waiting for an order to stop, they were spun up waiting for the order to go.

The go they were waiting for never came.

The stand down wasn’t an active order based on a military analysis, it came as a byproduct of not getting a CBA.

            That’s what I think happened.

I think the military was doing everything they would normally do to prepare for a rescue mission – reacting to the news of an attack on Americans, doing what they were trained to do, expecting to get the official orders to go – which never came.

The testimony of a general who was at AFRICOM was agonizing as he described how they did everything they could, and then just waited for word from the State Dept. or White House, and nothing ever came.

Agreed. How I wish someone had the courage (and/or integrity) to ask him that in one of his press conferences!

What strikes me overall about the administration’s response to the attack is their utter lack of URGENCY. I don’t believe for a second that the President didn’t know about the attack until a previously scheduled meeting with Panetta and Dempsey, which took place almost 1 1/2 hours after the attack started! They waited for a previously scheduled meeting to tell him? The minute they got word about an attack (and Col. Tony Shaffer has stated that many people, all over the government, would have been notified at the same time), you would think they’d be hurrying to the situation room, people on phones, trying to get information, hustle and bustle, tension in the air…

But there was none of that. They had their previously scheduled meeting, Panetta “informed” the President about the attack, they go on to talk about other things, then Panetta and Dempsey go back to DoD, and never speak to Obama again, and never speak to Hillary at all, that night… Hillary stays at the State Department, has some video conference meetings, until she turns in at home… Obama spends over an hour on the phone with Bibi (in the middle of the night in Israel), and retires to his quarters…

          Yawn.

          It’s like the Twilight Zone!

The only thing that makes sense to me, is that they were expecting something. They were expecting an assassination or a kidnapping, they knew about it, and they were staying out of the way and letting it happen.

When you take into account the increasing danger in Benghazi, with the deliberate withdrawal of security, their plane was taken away, the safe room was not safe, the State Department security personnel – charged with protecting an Ambassador in a dangerous, terrorist-filled country, on the anniversary of 9/11 – were inexperienced…there’s only one conclusion as far as I can see.

Chris Stevens was set up – to be kidnapped, assassinated, or something.

However, as to the six who went to the Consulate to help, I do believe their word they were told to stand down. That info filtered out shortly after the event and I suspect some of that filtering came from those who survived the battle. They had to be so pissed off. Frustrated. Believing if they set out sooner, there may have been a different outcome.

Here’s the exact quote from a Sharyl Attkisson (CBS at the time) article (much better than my memory). I mixed up two points into one.

Absent coordination from Counterterrorism Security Group, a senior U.S. counterterrorism official says the response to the crisis became more confused. The official says the FBI received a call during the attack representing Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and requesting agents be deployed. But he and his colleagues agreed the agents “would not make any difference without security and other enablers to get them in the country and synch their efforts with military and diplomatic efforts to maximize their success.”

Another senior counter terrorism official says a hostage rescue team was alternately asked to get ready and then stand down throughout the night, as officials seemed unable to make up their minds.

So Hillary was willing to send in the FBI, but not the military. I realize she and Obama didn’t want Americans to know what they were doing in Libya and Syria, but I didn’t realize the Libyan government was also in the dark. This Adam Housley (FOX) article (which I just read for the first time yesterday) also includes a reference to the gang of eight…

The State Department and CIA weren’t the only entities involved. Some operators in Benghazi on the night of the attack, who are still working for U.S. agencies, insist there were at least eight elected members of Congress read in on controversial operations that were ongoing in the country, including some Republicans. Operators also tell Fox News that many of these operatives and operations were completely unknown to the Libyan government and that would have caused an international incident if they were revealed. They wonder whether that is the reason some Republicans have allegedly been treading lightly.

I’ve become more suspicious than you are, Sharon. By this point I’ve come to think that the operation was a contracted hit on the Ambassador, as a means to cover-up/terminate the arms-running which they realized had run wildly off the rails. Any under-oath testimony he might have subsequently given would have been damning, so he represented a loose end (no pun intended) that had to be tidied up.

Panetta did testify before the Senate Committee on Armed Services (along with Dempsey) on February 7, 2013.

In his opening statement he said, “Without adequate warning, there was not enough time given the speed of the attack for armed military assets to respond,” and “I firmly believe that the Department of Defense and the U.S. Armed Forces did all that we could do in response to the attacks in Benghazi. We deployed every asset at our disposal that could have helped save the lives of our American colleagues.” I’d love to see him reconcile that statement with the email to Hillary that states DoD has military assets ready to go.

He even, ala Hillary, cites the ARB report findings as his exoneration. Makes me want to throw up.

Exactly. All the Congressional/Senate investigative committees never result in any legal action against any of the “Political Class”. I have come to the conclusion that these “investigations” are akin to the pressure release valve on the nation’s pressure cooker. Blow off some steam until the populace get distracted by football or Dancing With The Stars. Under a legitimate government, officials would have been indicted, charged, tried and imprisoned by now for what has been going on with Fast and Furious, The Arab Spring, Benghazi, The Iran Deal and _______ (Fill in the Blank)

We are living under a lawless government. How can we prevail against it? Especially since it comprises more than just elected officials. We are faced with a permanent bureaucracy that creates it’s own binding regulations. A security/surveillance state designed not to safeguard the nation and her citizens but to safeguard the “Political Class”. Additionally, the “Fourth Estate” comprising not only media but including cyber media, “art” and entertainment, act in concert with the government to reach political and social goals. Last but not least, the American people are trapped between the two blades of a “Scissors Strategy”. One blade is Islam, the other blade is our government. There is no logical reason to import a religion dedicated to destroying liberty into a nation founded on the goal of providing liberty to it’s citizens. It is clear that the “Cultural Marxists” running our country seek the complete overthrow of the established order and the end of Christianity. President Trump will face an epic challenge. I pray for his success.

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places]. 13Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; “

Leon Panetta’s life has been devoted … not the USA but to the United Nations. He has been a “fanatic” for “world government” and a Hitlerian New World Order. Leon Panetta devoted himself to the election of Nelson Rockefeller who had written the Future of Federalism. In which Rockefeller writes …”I think the answer is some free-world super-national being with the power to tax …”

Rockefeller builds UN for his plan of World Domination by an Elite Cadre (CFR) over the ashes of national sovereignty
Obama is the bankster’s boy and Panetta is the perfect choice … he has always been on his knees before the International banksters. ..

On the Pew Commission … David Rockefeller III is vice chairman. Panetta and Rockefeller are blood brothers … better put blood suckers. They have their fangs sunk deep into the throat of the nation. They want to turn the oceans over to the UN agencies .. so their world government can control 71 % of the Earth’s surface. and they can collect the tolls.
Panetta has been using his minion Congressman Sam Farr to impose the United Nations Agenda 21 throughout the central California region.

..in anticipation of overseeing a region of the North American Union. When that happens he will no longer have to run for office but merely be appointed.

That is the point in all of this! It is more Kabuki theater that eludes the real issue that Sundance has done a super job of pointing out. The elephant in the room is the ENTIRE operation to topple Ghadaffi with illegal weapons as part of the mythical “Arab spring,” and the Syria gun running operation to further destabilize the ME.
