York is pathetic and a “disinformation” propagandist. i remember years ago when there was the issue of Obama’s eligibility and he inaccurately reported about regulations regarding criteria for citizenship. The specific regulation he cited was a 1970s regulation that CHANGED and was not made retroactive. It did not affect the Obama case or issue and was irrelevant. York published this bullcrap in an effort to get “birthers” to stop talking about it. For the life of me I can not remember the exact POINT at issue but I remember pulling it up and forwarding to a friend. Since that time I put not one ounce of credibility into anything coming out of his mouth or off of his laptop.

This was the one news clip I found thus far. 1st, Rubio seems to be going Trump lite. Ineffectively. They cut off before the applause…because I don’t think it happened. Look at the crowd.

      http://www.wtoc.com/story/30870557/senator-marco-rubio-visits-hilton-head-island-high-school

Per various local news reports, Trump had appx 3x Rubio’s crowd. Trump’s had a hell of a lot more fun.

Well, those local news reports are WAY off. Even the reporter at the link stated “about a thousand people” for Rubio. So rather than 3X, it’s more like 15 to 20x (not counting overflow) for Donald.

Sd, that was a local news report. SharonKinDC’s comment was I believe her opinion that there wasn’t any applause. But after watching that report clip, it looks to me like it was standard TV editing. The broadcasters were ending their story about Marco coming to town.

I was in a couple of crowds when Marco was running for Senate. He is good in crowds. Says what we all want to hear while campaigning, but it is what Marco does in DC which creates the problems with Marco. He get’s caught-up with the sleaze in DC almost immediately.

I want to address something else……I am a researcher. I use other websites to help whittle down the size of my efforts (in this vast internet world) otherwise, sometimes it can become overwhelming. There are a lot of energized, intelligent people contributing on this blog (in fact most.) When I go through the threads, over time just reading the comments helps to define or redefine some issues. Also, posted links help cut down the “search” time. That’s just for ME.

Sd, does the same thing with this/his/our blog. He is obviously looking for minute details that may give credence or not, to whatever his current line of thought is. So, if everybody could…..pretty please….use the phrase “in my opinion” or IMO, or according to the article, or the tv guy said ……if you can. In this particular case, Sd had to take the time to go listen to that clip to see if Marco busted his applause line, or did the news report just do their standard issue, or did the news reporter self edit, or well, you get the idea. (Most of you don’t realize that while we do have lots of fun around here, that you are all little mini-sherlocks helping to gather research!) And, Thank YOU!

Rubio lost me in 2013 when became a member of the Gang Of 8, supporting Illegals INSTEAD of American Citizens. How could anyone vote for a guy who doesn’t understand the difference between LEGAL vs ILLEGAL?

In the upthread clip of Rubio. IOW, he anemically delivered his lines, and where the applause would have been at the end, they abruptly cut the clip, not allowing for a second of applause, had any applause existed. IOW, what ever the audience response was, I suspect it wasn’t impressive, since the MSM is trying to pump him up. The lack of extra seconds on the tape stood out, and made me wonder WHY it was cut that way. Hope this clarifies.

I think some of the GOPers are starting to “get” that a) some of Trump’s followers will not vote for the establishment nominee under any circumstances (I’m one) and that b) he’s bringing in a lot more Independents and Democrats than they thought possible. I’d add he’s bringing in people who long ago gave up on voting and finally have a candidate they can support. My exterminator is one of those.

maybe you don’t remember the famous Bill Clinton put down of Obama as a black man…Al Sharpton took off on him for it, and Ted Kennedy abandoned Hilliary as a result of it….well documented…

Bill Clinton helped sink his wife’s chances for an endorsement from Ted Kennedy by belittling Barack Obama as nothing but a race-based candidate.

“A few years ago, this guy would have been getting us coffee,” the former president told the liberal lion from Massachusetts, according to the gossipy new campaign book, “Game Change.”

The book says Kennedy was deeply offended and recounted the conversation to friends with fury.

After Kennedy sided with Obama, Clinton reportedly griped, “the only reason you are endorsing him is because he’s black. Let’s just be clear.”

The revelations in “Game Change” are guaranteed to reopen the 2008 Clinton racial wounds that had been scabbing over amid his post-election public silence and his wife’s high marks as Secretary of State.

Laden with potent pass-the-torch symbolism, the January 2008 endorsement of Obama by Kennedy and his niece, Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg was a pivotal campaign moment that allowed the Democratic establishment to abandon the Clintons.
Ted Kennedy famously endorsed Barack Obama for President, after Bill Clinton (below) reportedly belittled the future president. Brose/AP
Ted Kennedy famously endorsed Barack Obama for President, after Bill Clinton (below) reportedly belittled the future president.

Bill Clinton wasn’t the only one to bungle handling the Kennedys – the book says Hillary Clinton managed to alienate Caroline by fobbing off a key request on staff instead of calling personally.

When a group of prominent New Yorkers headed to Iowa to campaign for Hillary Clinton, Caroline “dreaded” getting a call to join them because she “would have found it impossible to refuse,” the book says.

When Hillary Clinton’s staffer called, someone “who sounded awfully like” Caroline said she wasn’t home.

Bill Clinton, whose stock with black voters was so high he used to be referred to as “America’s First Black President,” severely damaged his rep in his overheated drive to help elect his wife.

He’s crisscrossing the country and if you notice a lot of the events are when working people can go to them. I had to take time off to see Romney and Ryan when they had separate daytime events. I think it being on a weekend was one of the reasons that the Morrisville one was packed.

Trump is being smart. He isn’t doing five events in Iowa in a row, he’s doing NH, Virginia and then Iowa. He’s getting lots of media exposure, just not overdoing it in Iowa or NH.

In the short clip showing a alleged Donald Trump heckler at Bernie Sanders rally, we got to listen to Sanders lie to those poor deluded people. Sanders told them the reason they are struggling is because 1% of Americans are hording all the wealth. Not a word about how he and his cohorts voted for all the one-sided trade bills which undermined us all. I assume Bernie wants them to think he can get it away from the 1% and will dole it out to them.

And I don’t know who is sicker – Bernie for his blatant lies or the idiots willing to hang their life and livelihood on a hand-out from Bernie.

And then listen to Mr. Trump tonight put his finger right on the problem and promise to really fix it and then set us free to work and create our own futures.

Like the Ominous spending bill, he avoided the vote so he can say he’s against it on his campaign. Take immigration and H1B visa, he would say he’s against it at his town hall. People that attend his rally at stupid. At least Jeb and Kasich you know where they stand.

Not may people know this but Rich Lowry and Byron York are actually half brothers.
They also have a tendency to wash their hands excessively.

I like the gif of Rubio taking a swig. It just reinforces what Trump said about him: he sweats a lot lololol.

Another great post. I love the optics of the side-by-side comparisons. Byron York is a girlie-man who has worked for CNN and Huffpo. I wouldn’t trust a thing he says or writes. I would like someone to question him about the Yuge crowds Trump pulls in everywhere vs. the high school gym or tea house sized crowds the sweaty rubio and the no-energy jebita draw. It’s not even close.

This Trump thing is real. Talked to one of my kids who lives in NJ. She has a friend there who worked for the Trump casino in Atlantic City for 20 years and absolutely loved him. And over the holiday one of my nieces from south FL visited. She and her husband are teachers there. She asked me who I wanted for President and I said Trump. She said she was glad because she and her husband are huge Trump fans too and will vote for him. Everywhere I go I’m find Trump supporters. Trump, Trump, Trump. You’re the man for the job.

I’d assume that hilton head would draw a more crowd (up from his usual low hundred) for rubio as it is a country club republican home base for sure…The thing that always amazes me is how much depth & breadth of support Trump has…..There is a saying made up by ‘carpetbaggers’ that ‘yankee’ hospitality is a inch wide & mile deep while Southern hospitality is a mile wide but an inch deep …to that I’d wager that Trump support is more than a mile wide as well as a mile deep’.

I used to a libertarian but like all pure ideology it turns out to be a unattainable utopia and you tend to dismiss concrete solutions due to ‘purity tests’. The thing that took me from Rand Paul to Donald Trump permanently was the fact (as Sundance pointed out) that no one else EXCEPT Donald Trump even tells you there is a bad side to anything. As a business owner I make trade offs in every decision that I make.

When Trump stood up to katy Tur I was like wow..his answers are the same ones I would have given and when he told Anderson cooper to his face that ‘the people don’t trust you…and the people don’t trust the media’ I saw he spoke what was on his mind and the truth. In other words Trump wasn’t a phony like every politician I have ever met.

Even someone like Chris Matthews, a liberal progressive, loves his country and you can see he is starting to support Trump because he knows the truth. That Trump will be a ‘America First’ president. I think his ‘Citizen Trump’ was a pro-Trump by the virtue of Trump’s own record and shows a man who has matured emotionally and not just in age. His support among dems/independents is Yuge.

The GOPe and the MSM have NOW demonstrated to all, and more each day, how they have NO interest in the Nation and the Citizens….they more they TRY to discredit or insult TRUMP, the more supporters he GETS as the folks may be lazy or even apathetic, but they are NOT STUPID. The rally cry….”bring it on babe, we will show you how Custer got destroyed at the Little Big Horn by thinking he was powerful and going to win because he was GENERAL CUSTER…..
“Make America Great Again” does NOT MEAN vote for the GOP elite and uniparty candidates.

The Bush family, the Clinton family, and all the imported Hispanic looky looky “immigrant” political candidates are going NOWHERE (Rubio and Cruz).

I have to stand up for Byron York here. Believe me, he is NOT a fan of Marco Rubio. Byron has consistently reported honestly and fairly about the immigration issue. People who are mocking him for tweeting this picture of the Rubio rally obviously do not follow him on a regular basis. He is one of my most trusted sources, and I am completely opposed to Marco Rubio.
