Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) raised $6 million in the third quarter, a disappointing haul for a candidate who has been rising in the polls and lauded as a potential threat to former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush for the GOP’s establishment mantle.

That’s a drop from the $9 million Rubio raised in two-and-a-half months in the second quarter, after he launched his bid for the White House in mid-April. […] The Wall Street Journal has reported that Bush is likely to surpass his second-quarter haul of $11.4 million.

Two other Republicans have announced their third quarter numbers. Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson will likely lead the field, having netted $20 million in the second quarter. Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) struggled, bringing in only $2.5 million.

Conservative Solutions Project is ran by a lifetime political person who has worked for politicians and as a lobbyist.
It’s a joke if you ask me to have a law that says a non-profit can’t have political activity as their primary purpose, yet you go to their website and it’s pretty clear political activity is pretty much all they do and right now that activity is all about Rubio.

I’ve never been one who gave a flip about who was or wasn’t rich or what they do or don’t do with their money, but when our country is in the tank and we’re about to loose the last resemblance of our country it infuriates me that millionaires and billionaires are funding our demise for their own greed and benefit and to top it off we don’t even have a clue who many of them are.

Being rich and betting money on a politician for your OWN benefit, rather than for the benefit of the country as a whole has unfortunately been the “modus operandi” of the rich since the beginning of time. Take the big money out of politics and it ends.

From what I understand, there are two kinds of media coverage: paid and earned. Paid media is what a candidate has to buy, like ads. Earned media coverage happens “for free” when a candidate makes an appearance on a show or does or says something that the media decides to cover.

Trump has hours and hours of earned media coverage that the rest of the candidates can only dream of and could never afford. If you look back at the timing of the tweets, the rallies and the release of policy positions, it is astounding at how Trump has managed to stay the sustained topic of conversation the way he has.

It’s ironic that the self-funding billionaire candidate has risen to the top of the polls without paying for hardly any of it. Clever like a fox, that one. You have to admire him for that alone.

They are buying influence and possibly positions.
A U S president makes over 4000 appointments to full time (and sometimes permanent) positions.
He appoints over 2000 to part time positions.

From the text of, ‘The Modern Presidency,’ by James Pfiffner, the President appoints
nearly 7500 people to various positions including 950 White House staff positions.

Did Jeb sorta endorse that guy from Fl. that he mentioned last week? His name if Rep. Daniel Webster, Fl. When I checked that name, I saw that The Conservative Caucus has endorsed Webster just 2 hours ago.

Looks to me like the only donor getting a bang for their bucks is Donald Trump.

It appears that Cruz’s support is funded mainly by 6 mega wealthy donors … to the tune of 36 million $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. Not much of a grass roots campaign to have far more from the super wealthy than any of the others. A lot of loot to be mired in the polls with mid tier numbers.

Cruz has said that he has received contributions from 300,000 small donors. He raised more hard money in the first two quarters than any other candidate. That sounds like a pretty solid grassroots campaign.

      • Cruz may be getting some grass roots money…just like he sent me an email begging for money..the title being..getting out.. How bad is that. As soon as I saw that I deleted it. He is getting a ton of money from the hedge fund guy connected to Breitbart and of course the usual bankers and attorney.. Goldman Sachs being one and then the Koch’s.So he has lost of big money guys who want something in return..sorry, but when they do this, I call them whores.

      • true. but that is how the corrupt elite work, the wicked use people’s egos, arrogance, hopes, aspirations and dreams, and naivety to their advantage. they’re basically all puppets, except Trump! it’s the folks high up, powers beyond the candidates themselves who are pulling the strings. obviously looking at the donors, Bush’s are the most ruthless IMO. and i don’t buy that is all they are getting. there’s a lot more ways by way of promises and nods and secret arrangements behind the scenes. the donations are just the tip of the iceberg that the public gets to see. MORE LIES.

The big bucks these ruthless donors are giving is just a drop in the bucket compared to the money they will make by having politicians in their pocket that will keep their agenda on track. In return for their donations the politician they have “bought” will support the trade deal, common core, amnesty, etc. They will make millions over and over just out of the trade deal that will kill more American jobs ensuring them cheap out of the country labor for their companies.

  20. Why is Chris Christie not under indictment? He got $2 million from the owner of a hedge fund that invests NJ pension funds for huge commissions and bonuses. He also got $1 million from someone who wants to put a casino in northern NJ. Oh that’s right. It’s legal if it goes to a PAC. Christie has no regular donations. All his money comes from a PAC. NJ’s bonds are practically junk bond status because of the insolvency of the pension funds, but Christie has almost a billion dollars to pay in commissions and bonuses to people who give to him and the Republican Governor’s association to re-elect him.
