Pretty much what I expected from the under card bunch.

  4. georgiafl says:

Very pleasantly surprised and pleased with the moderators – they were pleasant and encouraging to each candidate. No barbs, sarcasm, cynicism.

Have to do some research on Gilmore. He did ok and no stumbling. Carly sounds authentic and not like the politicians.

Who is Jim Gilmore kidding? He endorsed an award given to Jamal Barzinji,a jihadi investigated for links to Hamas & Islamic Jihad #GOPDebate

Unfortunately, you have to have cable tv to watch it, even online. I don’t have cable tv. Have been waiting all week to watch this, even ordered pizza. Really bummed right now !! Go Trump !!

Perry was trying to sell a clunker….Perry.

    • georgiafl says:

Perry did a great job with jobs and economy in TX – but did an awful job holding the line against illegals and CAIR.

  11. doodahdaze says:

Note: IMO Carly will move to top ten. For one thing everyone calls her by her first name. Perry Santo, Graham, and Pataki, might as well pack it in and go home

  12. msMS says:

I liked Gov. Gilmore, too. Hope he’s not an “insider” with all his credentials.

  13. doodahdaze says:

George Will thinks Perry was the best.

George Will is Sununu in even worse hair. Sununu on Cavuto – pounding Trump (Sununu is LIKETHIS with the Bushes). Trump is early days flashy. Republicans will come to their senses. Etcetera, etcetera, etcetera…

  14. agryphon says:

Carly hit Trump hard. Called him out for flipflopping and wanted to know by which principles he would govern.

    • keebler AC says:

Fiorina doesn’t have a good record to me. I waited to hear what she had to say in the debates. HP makes junk. That would be Carly’s policy….. cut costs to sell at profit while benefiting China suppliers.

Speaking well and being a female isn’t enough for me. If you have to source from China for cheap material and parts — then that is not good problem solving. There is more to being a CEO than cutting costs. She doesn’t have what Trump has – ingenuity.

Sorry to hear she had to beat him up to get brownie marks with GOPe. So long, Carly! Trump doesn’t need a one trick solution to the country as policy, in a VP, and she probably now knows she isn’t being courted for the position.

I think that was a fair question(s) for DT, and ones he’ll ultimately have to answer.

I seriously thought Perry’s closing statement was going to be:
      “Merica! F@*# yeah!”

    • smiley says:

they all sound like sham wow promoters of themselves without the self-confidence.
      it falls flat.
startling lack of self-confidence with exception of Jindal, Fiorina and Gilmore.
while they might have strong convictions, they just don’t deliver a sense of strength or originality…or courage.
I come away from it feeling sorry for them…..!!
      that’s not good.
why do so many of these men look like they’ve been crying for weeks ?
      are they sad ?

Santorum using their having seven kids as evidence of optimism about America. Seriously? I always thought it was something else…

  17. dizzymissl says:

I find it VERY hard to believe Perry that TX has the highest graduation rate in the country. I did some googling and did not find it. Anyone know if it is true?

  18. McGuffin says:

    My take:
Lindsey Graham talks like a robot. How in the world did he get this far?
Perry comes off as a skeez with a capital S.
    Santorium Zzzzzzz
Pataki. Tall. Too bad Jindal isn’t that tall.
Jindal is the most comfortable speaking and makes the most sense. Still no chance.
Fiorina, beautiful color outfit. Smart. If she was male she would be in the lead out of this group and ahead of most of the other 10. Anybody notice how the mods let her go on way past her buzzer?
    Gilmore = dark horse.

    Now for the real fun!

    • Lulu says:

Miss Lindsey read her final statement.

Gilmore final statement delivered very well, mostly from memory. Strong, strong, strong. Who knew?

      • smiley says:

        Graham’s nervousness hurt him.
he made a few good points, imo…but he just does not deliver.
Jindal was the only one who brought up Bush…that impressed me.
everybody else steered clear of him.

  19. Lulu says:

Chris Wallace on Bret Baier program – most impressed with Carly Fiorina… sharpness, intelligence, preciseness (sic)…

George Will – no mention of Perry. Liked Lindsey and others who were talking strongly on Iran and ISIS/ISIL

  20. Clc says:

Lindsey Graham is owned lock, stick, and barrel by Israel. Him as commander in chief scares me.

  21. wyntre says:

I just watched Round 1 with the low-poll candidates and I was impressed with Jindel, Fiorina, Pataki and Gilmore. Perry held his own after a nervous start, Santorum was Santorum. Graham was the only one clearly out of his league.

It was NOT a train wreck and I came away with newfound respect for several candidates I had not previously listened to.

Bottom line: Anyone is better than HRC, even Graham.

(But the moderators questions were, as usual, far longer than most of the candidates answers)

Carly was/is the consensus winner. She can fill the bill for those that want a women in office as the 1st women Pres heads above Shrilliary. She shows her strength comparison wise.

If Sundance was interviewed by Hugh Hewitt, I’ll bet he would sound a lot like Mark Steyn!! You have to find the interview! Mark nails the Leftist framed questions. This on a “Conservative” news source! SMDH

  26. watcher says:

Note she is the only one that has never held a political office. Round two will probably turn out the same. We’ll see.
