The “JV Team” (ISIS) Have Taken Ramadi, Thousands Flee, Jails Opened, Hundreds Slaughtered – But Do They Have A New Cool Twitter Account ?

IRAQ – The Iraqi city of Ramadi has fallen to Islamic State (IS) after government forces abandoned their positions, officials say.

Ramadi evacuated

The police and military made a chaotic retreat after days of intense fighting.  Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi had ordered troops to stand their ground, saying he was deploying Shia militia to the city.

Ramadi is the capital of Iraq’s largest province, Anbar, and is just 70 miles (112km) west of Baghdad.

A statement purportedly from IS said its fighters had “purged the entire city”. It said IS had taken the 8th Brigade army base, along with tanks and missile launchers left behind by troops.

A very well-placed source in the Anbar governor’s office told the BBC Ramadi was now under the full control of Islamic State, and all government troops had withdrawn.

An army officer told the BBC that most troops had retreated to a military base in the city of Khalidiya, east of Ramadi.

Government troops were running out of ammunition and could not repel the massive onslaughts by IS, he said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

Footage posted on social media showed military vehicles speeding away from Ramadi, with soldiers hanging off the sides. (read more)

ANOTHER REPORT – […] Iraqi security forces abandoned their Anbar Operations Center in Ramadi overnight, leaving the city almost completely in ISIS control, according to the U.S. official, who has seen the latest intelligence reports from Ramadi.

Although there were a large number of Iraqi security forces occupying Ramadi, most troops fled after ISIS fighters began their assault on the city center Sunday, leaving behind Humvees and armored vehicles supplied by the U.S. military, a separate senior U.S. military official told Fox News.

“The Iraqi security forces were pushed out by a much smaller [ISIS] force,” the official said. (read more)

Twits twittering and tweeting while Rome burns to the ground. Oligula strikes again.

      • Rob Crawford says:

Nero was out of Rome when the Fire struck — but rushed back as soon as he heard of it, opened his palace to those who lost their homes, opened the treasury to rebuild, reformed the Rome water service to ensure there was water pressure to fight fires, and instituted building codes to prevent fires from spreading so easily. He eventually started blaming Christians for the fire when the rumors started to blame some of his cronies — likely unfairly so for the first Fire, but probably with good reason for the second wave.

So Nero, a historical model of “bad ruler”, was more responsible and less interested in blaming Christians for disasters during his rule than Obama.

        Obama — worse then Nero!

I can’t begin to tell you how pissed the Navy is that we can’t go in and bomb the hell out of these guys. Equal to a “stand down order” is; no order at all.

It is understandable that this bastard could care less about American sacrifices in Iraq. After all, he is a muslim and a marxist. The thing that breaks my heart is that so many so called “Americans” still support him, and do not care about those that gave their lives to root out the terrorists that were there. How can Dempsey, for instance, look ANY veteran in the eyes and state that Ramadi is unimportant? I despise them all (not that they care)…

Well, now the IS fanboys will have a place to complain when the Shiite militia moves into Ramadi.

  7. Jim says:

Am I mistaken, or is the Iraqi military a bunch of inept cowards? This is not the first time I have heard that they retreated in the face of the enemy. In fact, it is now enough times that I am noticing it. How can they be out of ammunition? Are they that corrupt that they sell everything on the Black Market? The video makes it look like they are hightailing it out of Dodge.

And as far as Twitting, Ms. Schulman thinks THIS is a big story. It probably took him six years to learn how to use it. Who will ghost write his twits?

  9. partyzantski says:

The American perception of Iraqi military as a bunch of inept cowards is both true and utterly false.
    How can that be? Well….

Iraqi military units (down to the platoon level, I am talking 30-40 people) are all drawn from the same towns, villages. So, this means that the platoon will be composed of brothers (no, not THAT kind!), cousins, uncles, family members.

They sign on to fight locally, not at any great distance from their homes. This has a lot to do with history and the non-existent support systems (such as NO direct deposit, no steady chow, abysmal medical care).

When you send a unit (could be a Brigade, a Division…. all what I stated remains in effect) across the country to fight, they don’t really see it as their fight and not worth dying for. Historically, places like Soviet Russia used troops from far flung places to really put the hammer down (no local ties, the beat-ees not kin).

Saddam would have killed them for failing to fight. Now, ISIS kills them for failing to flee.

The Iraqi forces, no matter how much has been dumped into them in time, treasure and equipment will always default to running after the obligatory “Iraqi Death Blossom”. They have no real contracts and no real penalty for running.

There were a few Iraqi Officers that I liked(ish). Still did not prevent them from plotting how to take me out (lunch was not in the equation). Anything else would be just too much coincidence, lottery-winning level coincidence.

In summary, I would ask readers to understand more about them. However, I still condemn them as being worthless for any legitimate purpose. Understand the limitations of what you are working with and the big picture (that it is a scam), and you’ll spend less time spiking blood pressure and being angry.

Note: the Iraqi patented tactical move known as the “Death Blossom” is where they all deploy from whatever truck they are in and fire outboard with EVERYTHING they have. It is horrific, haphazard and utterly random what they hit. They hit kids, women, animals. Human life there is worth effectively nothing to them. They voice a chorus of “In Shallah”. As it was, it is and ever shall be.

The Nation Building farce from the start. Bush and his stupid plan to turn Iraq in to a western style democracy. Good Grief. What a mess. The Bush/Obama one two punch. We should just nuke the Iranian nukes and get outta there.

time to drop a nuke or two
believe me want to stop these cowards nuke them

The ME failure is two fold. First Bush once he took out Saddam started pussyfooting around with Mullahs, Imans, Various nefarious Islamic factions etc. He should have put the hammer down on that hellhole or stayed out of it. Nation Building is a disaster. Then he had to turn it over to the liberal democrats and the idiot Obama. That was it. It will end in a complete calamity now. What we have here is complete failure. Now they will just start finger pointing.
