Saturday Open Thread – May 2nd

tomb of the unknown - memorial dayOur Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.

For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

Yes and no. He’s accrediting something to a specific group (KGB) that had been around longer than the Soviet Union. Almost all the socialist movements known as “socialism” are from around the 1870’s.
BTW, It’s also when they made up a new nonsensical term that never existed before, “capitalism”. It has always had the negative connotation because it was invented as a derogatory term. Same as with a company “monopoly”. Complete socialist concept that the KGB had nothing to do with.

The genocide of the Yazidi continues and we do nothing.

The Islamic State group (IS/ISIS) reportedly executed 600 hostages from the Yezidi community of Shingal (Sinjar) in the Talafar district in northern Iraq.

The group piled the bodies into the well of Alo Antar on al-Ayyadiya highway, local sources reported.

Everyone knew this was brewing, it was all over twitter a week ago. I just asked CENTCOM why we did nothing.

Remember the 232 Assyrian Christians taken hostage by IS? The pope was assured they were going to be released. Didn’t happen, they are still held in al-Shaddadi by IS. The throat slitters now say they want $23 million dollars to release them.

Anyway, we’re all way to busy dancing around the manufactured Baltimore bonfire to be noticing what’s going on so way far away.

For most of the the Facebook site’s a divertissement, more for show than something functional. I’m sure someone’s posted to read through and glean any possible useable tidbits but by and large it’s there to meet the requirement that the Army sees to be ‘with it’ in relation to its relation with a generation well removed from the C&C staff. That said, I’d be listening fore the sounds of Little Bird choppers rapidly approaching your house…

BTW, Russians are negotiating for military basing rights in various Mideast countries. They raised a huff in Britain when they were nosing around Cyprus for naval basing rights, even though they and Cyprus sort of deny they were doing so. That might, however, explain the Russian’s courting both Greece and Turkey with baskets of goodies. Can’t wait to see which old US bases in Turkey the Rooskies will move into.

Let’s see – the huge monthly payments to the Wahhabist malcontents by the Royal family for many years has kept the uneasy peace between the fundamentalist Holier Than Thou mullahs and the Saudi Church of Larry Flint Royal Family. Threat now is that if the Royal Family hidey-hos to their fallback stately pleasure palaces and the Iranians move in the Iranians have a real unfriendly retirement plan for the Wahhabists. Remember how good them thar Saudi military fought when Iraq invaded Kuwait? Even after more than a few years of training and being supplied some of the best US equipment our oil money could buy?

Yep, Russians are looking not only at basing in the Mideast to project power but solidifying their naval control of teh eastern Med. They are also working on a new generation of heavy-lift transport aircraft that will outlift the Super Galaxy and carry more of their new generation armor and armor-killing armor to rough landing strips.
They tried to jointly develop a heavylift transport with the Chinese and some wing-in-ground.surface designs that would have transported troops and materiel at relatively low altitudes to limit detection. Not much came of them but they may have provided testbeds for new generation heavylift craft. They ain’t standing still but our Beloved Leader has more or less gutted a lot of our research, design and procurement.

New topic: there is a new royal. Best the the happy family. I really don’t follow the royals, but this news reminded me: when the boy was born, there was a lot of online chatter about how bad it was that the family assigned a gender at birth. They should wait until the kid is old enough to select his or her gender.

At the time, someone composed a pic of these various tweets or comments or whatever they were. I just looked and I cold not find that pic. The same phenomenon is possibly happening right now, but per the Marxist values, is less likely since this child is a girl, not the dreaded oppressor gender.

From a Friend…It is open warfare on officers of the law, or anyone that wears a law enforcement uniform, or security. Do we say Thank You Obama Yet???
Watch: Disgusting Thing This Thug Just Said Proves 99 Years In Jail ISN’T Enough
A Houston, Texas, man is facing up to 99 years behind bars for a vicious attack on a law enforcement officer inside of a Walmart store. Jeremiah M. Matthews, 23, was denied bond at a court appearance this week, during which it was asserted that he admitted to the crime and shared his motive.
After allegedly stabbing 24-year-old Houston Community College officer April Pikes 14 times, police reports indicate Matthews said he simply wanted to kill an β€œoppressive” cop.
As for the injured officer, she was rushed to a local hospital where she underwent six hours of surgery and, according to the latest reports available, remains in critical condition. If not for the quick action of shoppers around her, Pikes’ injuries could have been even more severe.
Abe Baker, one of the individuals who stepped in to break up the attack, said he didn’t think before getting involved.
β€œHis arm was up again getting ready to stab her,” he said, β€œand I just grabbed his arm and just took him down. That’s when everybody else came over and we all just took him down.”
