Tomb of the UnknownOur Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.

For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

Some of us seem to forget how horrifying it was to watch the twin towers collapse while people fell to their deaths trying to get away from the flames…..that is what brought on the patriot act instigated by the George Bush administration and I, for one, appreciate everything they tried to do to protect U. S. citizens. And I truly believe that was their main concern. Some of it may have backfired and given the evil Obama administration a paved pathway to the demise of this country, but who would ever have thought, at that time that our country would be taken down from the inside. So IMO, the Bush Administration could not have known that the patriot act would be used by an inside traitor to accomplish evil beyond our comprehension. So, thank you Bush and Cheney for trying to protect the american people.

University of Michigan Reverses Course, Will Show ‘American Sniper’

After a day filled with intense controversy, the University of Michigan reversed course late Wednesday night and decided to show the movie “American Sniper” at its originally scheduled time and place.

“It was a mistake to cancel the showing of the movie “American Sniper” on campus as part of a social event for students,” the statement from E. Royster Harper, the vice president of student life, said. It was sent just after 10:45 p.m. to the media.

“The initial decision to cancel the movie was not consistent with the high value the University of Michigan places on freedom of expression and our respect for the right of students to make their own choices in such matters.

“The movie will be shown at the originally scheduled time and location. We recognize, however, that some students are uncomfortable with the content of the movie, and appreciate that concern.

“Therefore, the university also will show an alternative movie, “Paddington,” in another location on campus at that same time and date to provide our students with additional options that evening.”

The university had cancelled the planned showing of the Iraq War movie after students, mostly Muslim and/or Arab, complained about it. The movie had been planned to be shown on Friday night at a social event for students.

Here’s an Encouraging article about fighting the culture war – and winning, at the Hugo Awards. Brought to you by those awesome science fiction writers who refused to be bullied by the Social Justice Warriors. The clever resistance fighter-writers took the moniker of “Sad Puppies.” This group emerged about two years prior to the Gamergate fiasco, which saw Gawker media losing about 1 million dollars in advertising due to P.O.’ed gamers who had been attacked by Gawker media Social Justice Warrior babes. The comments in this article are great too, like the one that points out that the SJW bullies took on the gamer fans who do “war gaming” as a hobby. Duh. (Undoubtedly the SJW’s thought the gamers, and sci-fi writers where a bunch of JV players. How wrong they were.)

One of the Sad Puppies organizers fought back after he was smeared as a racist and misogynist. In his rebuttal argument he noted:

“As one astute and recovered victim put it, the new zealots (SJW) are a cult who dwell in depression and anger, seeking the slightest excuses to lash out and make other people suffer:

"There is something dark and vaguely cultish about this particular brand of politics. I’ve thought a lot about what exactly that is. I’ve pinned down four core features that make it so disturbing: dogmatism, groupthink, a crusader mentality, and anti-intellectualism."

“Today, the crusader mentality decided to defame and slander Brad R. Torgersen the evil demonic racist and hateful sick bigoted misognynist.”

The comments were interesting. Too bad something couldn’t be figured out to fight back in political wars – against news and social media manipulation. There were a few comments on inserting classes in schools re civics /history /critical thinking /use of propaganda /education of meaning of the constitution. Would there be any way to ever do anything like that?

Valerie Jarrett wants to protect America’s youth – from their parents. She wants to ban conversion therapy for minors…in other words, make it ILLEGAL for parents to help their children who might be struggling with their sexuality in this confusing world we now live in.

Jarrett posted, “As part of our dedication to protecting America’s youth, this Administration supports efforts to ban the use of conversion therapy for minors.”

She called for legislative action by Congress to prohibit parents from having their children be counselled to be heterosexual rather than what she described as “LGBTQ+.”

Jarrett added, “Family relationships are pivotal to the physical and emotional well-being of any child, including LGBTQ+ youth,” she said. “Every child needs love, support, and acceptance to grow, dream, and thrive. LGBTQ+ youth with supportive families and friends show greater well-being, better general health, and significantly decreased risk for suicide, depression, and substance abuse.

Valerie Jarrett is the one pulling the strings in this administration. Obama does not make one decision without her. He has said so himself. The Iranian born Ms. Jarrett has unprecedented influence on the POTUS. And now she wants to take something as incredibly important and controversial as the sexuality of our kids, and put the government in control, not parents.

She seriously needs to go back to Iran and stay there. And she can take Obama with her. He can transform Iran into whatever he thinks they should be, and leave us the @¿©! alone.

    This makes me so angry!

    Understanding Engineers #1

Two engineering students were biking across a university campus when one said,
“Where did you get such a great bike?”

The second engineer replied, “Well, I was walking along yesterday,
minding my own business, when a beautiful woman rode up on this bike,
threw it to the ground, took off all
her clothes and said, “Take what you want.”

The first engineer nodded approvingly and said, “Good choice: The
    clothes probably wouldn’t
    have fit you anyway.”

To the optimist, the glass is half-full. To the pessimist, the glass
    is half-empty.
To the engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

    Understanding Engineers #3

A priest, a doctor, and an engineer were waiting one morning for a
particularly slow group of golfers. The engineer fumed, “What’s with
those guys? We must have been waiting for fifteen
minutes!” The doctor chimed in, “I don’t know, but I’ve never seen
such inept golf!” The priest said, “Here comes the greens-keeper.
Let’s have a word with him.” He said, “Hello George, What’s wrong with
that group ahead of us? They’re rather slow, aren’t they?”

The greens-keeper replied, “Oh, yes. That’s a group of blind firemen.
    They lost their sight
saving our clubhouse from a fire last year, so we always let them play
    for free anytime!.”

The group fell silent for a moment. The priest said, “That’s so sad.
I think I will say a special prayer for them tonight.”
The doctor said, “Good idea. I’m going to contact my ophthalmologist
colleague and see if there’s anything she can do for them.”
The engineer said, “Why can’t they play at night?”

I want to thank everyone here! You all helped me immensely, and don’t even know it. To explain, last Oct. I was given a ticket for “disregard of a traffic control device” (crossing double white lines). A few years ago, before I started reading here, I would have just paid the ticket, even though I was innocent. I would have thought that the “little guy” didn’t stand a chance. After hanging out here for months before I was brave enough to make my first comment, I learned that my voice does count. I learned to do research, how to connect the dots, and not to be afraid to ask questions.
I took my case to trial, pro se, and WON! I was very nervous, but did my research and knew the facts were on my side. I will admit that I was a little disappointed as I was so ready to give my closing argument. When I could explain in detail how the prosecutor gave misinformation, and the police officer was not being truthful, and present a summation of all the facts. After the prosecutor gave his closing argument, the Judge simply looked at me and said “Case Dismissed”.
Thank you all for giving me the courage and for probably raising my IQ by a few points. I appreciate all the help you didn’t know you gave!!

Ezra Klein, how do you find these people? About the most lame article I’ve read in a long time. This dude wants to lower the speed limit again. 🙄

    • I don’t even want to hear about changing the speed limits. I understand driving according to conditions, and driving a little slowly on unfamiliar roads, but being stuck behind a person doing 30 in 50 mph zone today did not make me very happy.

Also, how can this author draw conclusions from something he admits in his last paragraph no one has studied yet? Isn’t that putting the cart before the horse?

    • John Denney says:

Pet peeve. As a youth in Iowa, the narrow, curvy, up and down hill highways had a 70 mph speed limit.
But now in California, for instance, you have well lit divided highways with six wide lanes each direction, gentle curves and hills, all cars have seat belts, most have airbags, tires are tougher, lots of cars have anti-lock brakes, cars are designed with crumple zones and safety glass, . . . and the speed limit is 65.

Forget carpool lanes and bullet trains, just bump up the speed limit (to at least 90) and change the car pool lane to an express lane with an even higher speed limit.

I hate ticks and they seem to be persistent critters this year. Nothing for whatever reason is getting rid of all of them this year, even in the yard where we put tick granules and sprayed with the strongest spray you can buy. We’ve sprayed all the animals and treated the dogs.
I asked the vet today if they have something and they said nothing is working, even in town people are having their yards professionally treated and nothing is killing the ticks. He’s a funny guy, he told me he thinks Obama’s government dumped these ticks on
Sulphur so far has worked the best, but even it hasn’t chased them all away.

Franklin Graham was speaking at the First Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida a few weeks back when he said America will not come back.

Time is like a river. You cannot touch the water twice, because the flow that has passed will never pass again. Written by a USMC Vet. (I can’t argue with any of it. Passing it along as it was received.)

    He wrote:
The American Dream ended (on November 6th, 2012) in Ohio. The second term of Barack Obama will be the final nail in the coffin for the legacy of the white Christian males who discovered, explored, pioneered, settled and developed the greatest Republic in the history of mankind.

A coalition of Blacks, Latinos, Feminists, Gays, Government Workers, Union Members, Environmental Extremists, The Media, Hollywood, uninformed young people, the “forever needy,” the chronically unemployed, illegal aliens and other “fellow travelers” have ended Norman Rockwell’s America. The Cocker Spaniel is off the front porch… The Pit Bull is in the back yard. The American Constitution has been replaced with Saul Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals” and Chicago shyster, David Axelrod, along with international Socialist George Soros will be pulling the strings on their beige puppet to bring us Act 2 of the New World Order.
Our side ran two candidates who couldn’t even win their own home states, and Chris Christie helped Obama over the top with a glowing “post Sandy” tribute that elevated the “Commander-in-Chief” to Mother Teresa status. (Aside: with the way the polls were run, he didn’t need any help!) People like me are completely politically irrelevant, and I will never again comment on or concern myself with the aforementioned coalition which has surrendered our culture, our heritage and our traditions without a shot being fired.
You will never again out-vote these people. It will take individual acts of defiance and massive displays of civil disobedience to get back the rights we have allowed them to take away. It will take Zealots, not moderates & shy not reach-across-the-aisle RINOs to right this ship and restore our beloved country to its former status.
Those who come after us will have to risk their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor to bring back the Republic that this generation has timidly frittered away due to “white guilt” and political correctness… An American Veteran……… Semper-Fi

    • Michael Dixon says:

America has been/is being revolutionized by Marxists and communists, atheists and anarchists, and all people who hate our patriotic and religious traditions. Sad to say, Franklin Graham is correct. America will not be back. A majority of voters made sure of that in 2008 and 2012.

Now that the revolution is a fait accompli, voters will become irrelevant. Voting will be largely symbolic. Presidents will be selected and installed in office as puppets. The media will be the official state ministry of propaganda, perhaps to be called the Ministry of Truth. Once a majority of Americans are comfortable with Big Brother government, there will be no turning back.
