The Associated Press is outlining the construct of the final negotiations between the U.S. and Iran. In essence, the short version is that Iran is going to be able to produce nuclear weapons, period.

GENEVA (AP) – The United States and Iran are shaping the contours of a deal that would initially freeze Tehran’s nuclear program but would allow it to slowly ramp up activities that could be used to make nuclear arms over the last years of the agreement’s duration. (read more)

Obama - KaboomDespite the incredible ramifications, and the very predictable arms race now virtually certain in the region, this should not come as a surprise.

Iran had to work swiftly, while President Obama was still in office and the U.S. is in a weakened state, due to the specifically intentional policies of the Obama administration. There have been many indicators of this outcome over the past several months and years.

Last August the reality of Iran gaining a nuclear weapon became assured when President Obama told the New York Times oh well, “we tried“.

[…] On Iran, the president said the chance that American efforts to strike a deal on nuclear weapons is “a little less than 50-50,” in part because some Islamic leaders may fear such a pact would loosen their grip on power.

“That may prevent us from getting a deal done,” Mr. Obama said. “It is there to be had. Whether ultimately Iran can seize that opportunity — we will have to wait and see, but it is not for lack of trying on our part.”   (full article link)

Against this now evident reality the visit by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu takes on an even more controversial dynamic.

Netanyahu is widely anticipated to make the case of why Iran should not be allowed to possess nuclear weapons, and outline the ramifications therein. Hence, the White House held a strategy meeting to generate ideas of how they could destroy Netanyahu using “Alinsky Tactics” last week.

The White House now needs to change the discussion from “what if” toward the more comfortably obtuse “what difference does it make” argument.

The liberal media will now begin to sell the narrative that Iran should be allowed to have nuclear weapons because other nations already have nuclear weapons…. and various pontifications around this general theme.

Will that now virtually assured Iranian nuclear capability now ignite the fuse to a pending World War III ?   Personally, I virtually assure you it will.

Just like all previous Democrat positions and presidencies when you look back to why we ended up in a war or conflict you’ll find progressive liberal policies that lit every fuse, and made every single conflict worse.

Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it….
