Spokesman for the Presidency Ambassador Alaa Youssef stated that the President’s visit to the cathedral was motivated first and foremost by his sense of patriotism as an Egyptian citizen before his role as President of Egypt and of all Egyptians. Ambassador Youssef noted that the President made his visit to the Cathedral spontaneously without waiting for any ceremonial arrangements or a formal procession.
Youssef added that the Egyptian state, which has reserved the right to respond at the time and in the manner of its choosing, will do everything in its power to deliver swift justice in retribution for the innocent victims, who fell victim to this abhorrent act of terrorism.
Youssef stated that the President has called on Egyptians to stand united and consolidate their efforts to overcome these difficult times, stressing that the unity of all Egyptians, Muslims and Christians, is the only way to ensure the safety of the country, eradicate terrorism and strengthen the fabric of the Egyptian nation. The President noted that these despicable acts that contravene the teachings of all religions and values of human decency will not undermine the resolve of Egyptians or deter them from their pursuit of building a new Egypt that will realize the hopes and aspirations of its people on the basis of justice, equality and respecting the rights of all.

…and of course ISIS hates Abdel Fattah el-Sisi for being a secular leader:
