Ben Shapiro: Why Jews Vote Leftist?

It’s too bad that they don’t realize that anti-semites will hate them just as much as if they were observant Jews.

Maybe more Jews would vote conservatively if they knew that leftists harbor antisemitism.

Two types of Jews – Sephardic and Ashkenazi. Sephardics are from the Holy Land and came to the US early and are conservative. Many Sephardic Jews were in the Confederacy.
Ashkenazi Jews came from Eastern Europe where they were communists. When they came to the USA they joined the liberal wing of the Democrat party.

Most midage and older Ashkenazim I happen to know in (late thirties and older) born in USSR are on the right side of the political spectrum. But then if you take natural born US citizens (like, children of the above-mentioned folks) — there are lots of liberals. Again, I don’t see much wrong in 20+ y.o. young people being liberal. What I is somewhat beyond me is very intelligent (something Ben touches a bit in the video) people 35+ still buying the leftyist b00lcrap.

Good point. Emptying the Russian pogroms put many Jews on an endless search for a homeland, and many became anti-Tzarist as a result, finding the movements toward communism and socialism more attune to their needs.

Little did they — or do they now know — that such political systems also deny human rights and individualism. Sadly, the Jew seems to reflect the canary in the coal mine; when political systems concentrate on removing that religion, all others are doomed to suffer the same fate.

I am a big fan of Woody Allen’s movies.
very funny guy, as a film-maker….serious films great, too.
but he suffers from the almost cliché “jewish self-loathing” neurosis.
he has alluded to that in some of his (funniest) films.
that “neurosis”, if that’s what it is, seems to be a source (?) of confusion for some Jews.
    an identity crisis.
the fear of being hated and ostracized.

I, frankly, do not find him interesting, funny or worth the time. Granted, I am not Jewish, so perhaps I don’t understand, but he makes me uncomfortable for my Jewish friends. I don’t see any of them in that framework of “Jewishness” Mr. Allen presents to the public. He diminishes them, which I find despicable.

          no, he doesn’t “diminish” them.
his humor is based on “Jewish humor”, aiming at the Jewish experience in American culture.
I appreciate him as an artist..a film maker.
his early films parody silent film/comedy (American)..Keaton, Chaplin and Harold Lloyd.
then he moved on to influences from Fellini and Bergman.
he’s an original in his “genre” and, regardless of his looks or personal life or political bent, he’s an artist who makes his art work.

I call BS after being a Jew for over 50 years. If you’re a good Jew, you support Israel, if you’re a bad Jew, you don’t. there isn’t any other criteria that Ben speaks of. and I can’t stand a lot of Israelites in Miami because they’re arrogant and start fights.

  6. What is the difference between Jews and Israelites and why are they, as a whole, arrogant? (Please excuse my ignorance.)

ok, I’ll try (someone plse correct me if wrong, ok?)…

      first, “they” were Hebrews.
then Israelites.. the descendents of Israel (Jacob).
“Jews” were, originally, only those from The Tribe of Judah.
King David united Israelites & Jews into one nation, as Israelites.
when his Kingdom split, the northern part were still Israelites, and the southern part were Judeans.
Eventually, Judah was called Judea, and (under Rome) were called Jews.

      that’s a VERY basic nutshell…

The secular Jews of my generation are pro blacks at a distance like no other non black group and loose themselves in delirious hero worship of the celebrity blacks of sports, entertainment and the media, BHO being a hybrid of the later two categories.

BHO is a bastard conceived out of wedlock, and in fact his mother’s first and only husband was Soetoro during BHO’s childhood. Had his sire been white instead of the married-to-somebody-other-than-BHO’s-mother-SAD American black adulterer Frank Marshall Davis, BHO the candidate would have never had the support, let alone having received 78%, of the Jewish vote.

Like Ben Shapiro says above, whiteness is very uncool to them although it’s interesting watching them in daily dealings move back and forth between being white and not depending on the audience / circumstances.

Their knee jerk giddiness for blacks and their corresponding aloofness towards whites has caused some very ironic interactions within the Baby Boom generation as whites whose families had paid the ultimate price or were still paying the post trauma price for saving Jews from Hitler have been pushed aside or economically trampled underfoot in America by Jews stampeding to swoon over blacks.

I say all this as a gentile Zionist. As my father before me, I stand ready to protect the Jews from those who hate them for their status as the children of the one about whom Jesus said “before Abraham was, I am.”

I asked a Jewish friend of mine a long time ago why Jews vote overwhelmingly Dem.. She told me it dated back (in her family and circles) to the fact that Harry Truman was a big proponent of the state of Israel.

I think Jews lack basic understanding of Christianity. They think Christians are born into it like Jews and Muslims are. If your mother is a Jew, you are a Jew. If your father is a Muslim, you are a Muslim.

Christianity is different. You have to accept the Jesus as your Lord and Savior, and you have to be of sufficient age and mental capacity to understand what that means. Just because you are born into a “Christian” family, whether they live by those values or not, does not make you a Christian.

I keep hearing how Hitler was a Christian — because his family line was “Christian”. A lot of Americans today when polled call themselves “Christian”. Yet they never go to church, support abortion, support “gay marriage”, and everything that is Anti-Christ. Even they believe that to be born into a family line that was once Christian makes them Christian. It doesn’t. A person is born again and becomes a Christian when they knowingly and with whole heart, mind and soul accept Christ as Lord and Savior.

I highly recommend watching this entire series by Avi Lipkin.

Major Christian traditions like the Roman Catholic or Eastern Orthodox do include infant baptism. What that means is that during most of the 2k y.o. history of Christianity a child born to a Christian family would be Christian w/o much questions. The rite of Confirmation is not as explicitly mentioned in the Scripture as, say, Baptism — and even where it was not “automatic” (many places that follow the Eastern or Oriental tradition) — it still was typically not a lot more than a Jewish bar-mitzvah, a “coming of age” ritual. At least, until the advent of Protestantism some 5 hundred years ago.
Some branches of Protestant Christianity are indeed very different. That is only a relatively small fraction of the population of the Earth deemed “Christian”, much less “coming out of Christian background”.

The mechanics of socialism must by the very way they are structured and operate directly violate the Commandments that forbid coveting and theft. Socialism was originally justified on the grounds that the masses would be more prosperous when everyone was forced to live at the expense of others. It is currently justified on the grounds that it would force the economy, and thus society, more “just”. Themes today are “social justice” and “income equality”. In any case, the bloody evidence of over 100 years of industrial-scale socialism prove these claims of social and economic progress are horrible lies.

To repeat: of the Ten Commands, socialism directly offends and violates three. The Apostle Paul twice (eg: Eph 5:5) states that coveting (an essential justification of the income redistribution in socialism) is a form of idolatry. It doesn’t take much thinking to see why this is true, that attempts to build the Socialist Utopia are in fact attempts to replace God with something made from human hands (or thought). Socialism is a deity-free religion and stands in opposition to the economic and social system implied in Scripture, an economy that is easily seen to be founded on the free market, that is to say capitalism.

I suggest looking up the Jewish topic of “Tikkun Olam”, translated as “repairing the world”. It appears that leftist Jews have transformed the righteous obligation to be charitable into the obligation to pursue secular and governmental means to equalize society by force. In their attempt, they must violate the very Commandments their faith holds as core pillars. I don’t know how to explain why, I only see the hand-in-glove connection.

        Tikkum Olam, see for example:
        http://www.myjewishlearning.com/practices/Ethics/Caring_For_Others/Tikkun_Olam_Repairing_the_World_.shtml

“Contemporary usage of the phrase shares with the rabbinic concept of “mipnei tikkun ha-olam” a concern with public policy and societal change, and with the kabbalistic notion of “tikkun” the idea that the world is profoundly broken and can be fixed only by human activity.”

Me- that is human activity apart from the Law of God that defines private property, mainly private wealth and income that socialism must seize to fund “benefits” and “programs”.

I would also observe that after having read several of these similar descriptions, how the foundations of Tikum Olam appear far more to be consistent with Gnosticism than anything found in Torah.

The waters of the Red Sea or Reed Sea had barely settled back as the Hebrews began to grumble about their circumstances – Exodus 15:24. Failing to, as a people, hold fearful, reverent respect for God is a leading theme throughout the Old Testament. They built the golden calf, they adopted Asherah poles, and so on. Failing to realize God’s favor upon them is nothing new.

An amazing thing is that this religion – Judaism, and Judeo-Christianity – is utterly different from any other. The OT is much more shaming and embarrassing relative to nearly any other religious writing or philosophy.

There is a lesson, I believe, in that phenomenon of Judaism’s sacred writings basically being rife with dirty laundry. It is divine that the dirty laundry is out there for everyone to see in the OT. In my opinion, the lesson is this: you cannot deem an entire people, or country, to be of one religion/to know God. No country/people could have had a better run of it than Israel/the Hebrews.

God took one man from one place and from nothing more than that one guy in one place, built a people/nation in another place. That is simply yet another lesson that God can do anything. [In jealous imitation, humans have attempted to trump God and take no man, one less than one man,and attempted to build a people/nation – curiously, with the nation to be in the exact same place!]

Adoption of ‘religion,” of a relationship with the one God, is only achieved at the individual level. You cannot be born into this relationship. You cannot be converted en masse by a dictator, or legislative action. It is not imparted by ritual. It cannot happen under the threat of death. It is not achieved by selfless or heroic acts. You cannot achieve this for your child by baptizing him or her as an infant or toddler. You cannot get someone into heaven after they have died. It is only accomplished as noted above by an individual, with his or her own free will, making that decision.

Each of us has to get to the point, one way or another, of realizing there is a God, He loves each of us as an individual, despite our inattention of him, disdain for him, or outright rebellion against him. Beyond that, once we recognize and respect God for who he is, what he does, and has done, we have to acknowledge that, like they said on Wayne’s World, “we’re not worthy!” Once we learn we can be redeemed for such repugnant attitudes and foolish pride, we can opt to accept that forgiveness. One by one. And this is communicated and shared one by one. Not by edict, or by birthright, or any other way.

Being born ethnically Jewish imparts no automatic reverence for or knowledge of God. Being dragged to temple, or to Christian church/worship, can help prep you along the way, but at some point in time, you have to cross that line and decide to live as if there actually was a fearful, awesome god, a genuine master of the universe, who knows you and cares about you.

Falling for the lure of Marxism is the same as deciding to set up an Asherah pole, or to make a gold idol. There is nothing new under the sun.
