Sharyl Attkisson: “New Information” From State Dept To Benghazi Select Committee…

Sharyl Attkisson has provided some new information on the closed door Benghazi Select Committee hearings and investigative inquiry.

Including the following from Trey Gowdy:

[…]  “The committee is continuing its probe into all aspects of Benghazi and is currently focused on ensuring access to all first-hand accounts from those on the ground that night. This process will be ongoing and in some respects must remain classified.”–Benghazi Select Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy, R-S.C.

We took a lot of fire -following the Benghazi Brief– when we explained why this would be the case.  The risks of sunlight are essentially equal to both Republicans -who approved the program(s) basic goals via intelligence oversight- and Democrats alike.

Apparently we were correct.

How very disappointing it is to hear those words coming out of Trey Gowdy’s mouth. He’s the LAST person who I ever expected to say that any part of this debacle should remain classified,

As as much as we hate to admit it, is there really a way for the truth of Benghazi to reach the public? I don’t think there is.

IMHO It’s not that Boehner or Gowdy wouldn’t want to expose it per se’, heck it really seemed like Boehner and Mike Rogers were mortal enemies over it, the problem is there’s no legal way to break through the firewall of Classified Intelligence and National Security.

I think the primary reason why Rogers and Boehner were at odds was because Boehner knew Rogers was making stuff up (lying) to make himself look less liable, and Boehner knew there was no way to hold his committee to account.

Rogers walked away and left the entire fiasco burned down in his wake, especially with that last little FU report he authored; which, I might add, Sheryl Attkisson -and everyone else- erroneously calls a “committee report”, when we know full well that only Rogers and Ruppsberger authored it – not the House Intelligence Committee as a group.

      • How could anyone on the House Intelligence Committee agree to supply arms to terrorists? I really don’t care about the party affiliation, it’s incomprehensible.

This isn’t something that looks bad in hindsight, this was foreseeable. I wonder if our nation will ever learn that giving arms to any group or nation in the Middle East, except Israel, will eventually lead to Americans’ deaths by those weapons.

Just imagine what would have happened had Mohmmed Morsi been allowed to retain power in Egypt. All the advanced weapons provided…. how many Americans would have been killed with those weapons?

Mike Rogers left because he knows he has Ambassador Stevens’ and the others’ blood on his hands. I guess he has a conscience and couldn’t live with the guilt, so he left his post. But if he really had any courage he’d admit it publicly.

If the entire truth is not revealed (Bengahzi Brief was brilliant) by Congress, we are destined to repeat these monumental errors in judgment, which is the very definition of insanity.

Why assume that he has a conscience? More likely just trying to put some distance between himself and the disaster and ensuing cover-up in which he was undoubtedly complicit.

You got it. Won’t see the light. Gowdy was shuffled off to keep him quiet by the E.

Is this new information Rand Paul has found in the debris from the WTC that’s been hidden away in a #2 mayonnaise jar on Funk & Wagnalls back porch?

Interestingly, her website (from the link in the main post) now returns just the word “error”. Not headers, just “error”. Of course, it could just be that her web monkey messed something up. Or, perhaps she’s under attack of some sort again?

New day, SOS: 28 pages of the 911 report remain classified.

  7. I find Trey Gowdy all hat and no cattle. All talk and no results. He supports Boehner so Boehner must have the dirt on him. VERRRRY disappointed in Mr Gowdy and majority congress. sigh

Sometimes, it sucks to be right.
Isn’t it frustrating to be at the mercy of the dunderheads WE put into office? I love the way they decide what we should and should not hear. Unless it is a matter that will endanger our soldiers in the field, we have a right to now. We pay those &^%&* their salaries. When will they remember that we are their bosses? I hoped that after the last elections, the bozos might have a clue that we can and will vote their patooots out of office
