Terrorist Attack In Israel – Four Praying Israelis Murdered in Jerusalem Synagogue Attack…

JERUSALEM (AP) — Two Palestinians stormed a Jerusalem synagogue on Tuesday, attacking worshippers praying inside with knives, axes and guns, and killing four people before they were killed in a shootout with police, officials said.

The attack, the deadliest in Jerusalem in years, is bound to ratchet up fears of sustained violence in the city, already on edge amid soaring tensions over a contested holy site.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed that Israel will “respond harshly” to the attack, which he denounced as a “cruel murder of Jews who came to pray and were killed by despicable murderers.”

Israeli police described the assault as a terrorist attack and said the two Palestinian assailants were cousins from east Jerusalem. Hamas, the militant Palestinian group that runs the Gaza Strip, praised the attack but stopped short of claiming responsibility.

Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said six people were also wounded in the attack, including two police officers. Four of the wounded were reported in serious condition. He said police were searching the area for other suspects.

Associated Press footage from the scene showed the synagogue, in Jerusalem’s ultra-Orthodox Har Nof neighborhood, surrounded by police and rescue workers following the attack.

Wounded worshippers were being assisted by paramedics and a bloodied butcher’s knife lay near the scene of the attack.

“I tried to escape. The man with the knife approached me. There was a chair and table between us … my prayer shawl got caught. I left it there and escaped,” Yossi, who was praying at the synagogue at the time of the attack, told Israeli Channel 2 TV. He declined to give his last name.

A photo in Israeli media from inside the synagogue showed what appeared to be a body on the floor draped in a prayer shawl, with blood smattered nearby.

Police spokeswoman Lubi Samri said the attackers were Palestinians from east Jerusalem, which has been the scene of relentless clashes between Israeli police and Palestinian protesters in recent months.

Jerusalem has seen a spate of attacks by Palestinians against Israelis. At least six people have been killed in Jerusalem, the West Bank and Tel Aviv in recent weeks, prior to Tuesday’s casualties.  (read more)

Where is our islamo-troll “cohibadad” with his videos of imams condemning this attack? Oh, never mind.

What a sickening human you are. I was just looking at those pictures and how horrible it is for the victims and their families and I read this? You should be ashamed. Making up things I’ve never said. Acting like I condone things I condemn. Is there no moderation of personal attacks on this site?

    • cohibadad says:

I couldn’t find a muslim condemnation of the synagogue attack other than from Turkey, who included some condemnation of Israel for attacks on al-Aqsa in the same statement, which is grotesque to equate such things. I haven’t heard of any imams condemning this specifically or seen Facebook posts condemning this. I just heard about this an hour ago or so, but I’d be surprised to hear any condemnation. I think most Sunni Muslims, and Muslims in general probably, think that all Israelis have brought horrific acts like this upon themselves for “stealing” Muslim lands. They probably think “they deserve it” or “God is punishing them”. That mindset has destroyed their humanity. What kind of human can see another peaceful human butchered and not feel for them? As if God is pleased by such savagery. Their hearts are hardened. That same mindset is what feeds groups like ISIS. Hatred. Ignorance. Arrogance.

Well the two attackers have already been killed, so this might get bloody.

It’s time to blow up the al Aq’sa Mosque, since it sits on the Holy Ground of the Temple Mount. We can always say that Mohammad ascended to the Mother Ship from a convenience store Ramallah, instead.

      • Kev says:

We could just say that the Temple Mount was a Jewish holy site for two thousand years before Islam, and Muslims never had the right to deface it with a mosque.

    • This shows how the media, even if inadvertently, distort things. According to Sundance’s post above from Prime Minister Netanyahu’s office, he said they would “respond with a heavy hand.” The Prime Minister is extremely fluent in American English and I believe he chose his words carefully. Too bad the media don’t do that.
I did hear on the radio this morning, though I don’t know whether to believe it now, that Israelis usually respond by bulldozing houses of perpetrators and that a number of provocations have occurred over the past several months and no houses have been bulldozed. So, you may be right, Christopher Perrien.

  4. Daniel says:

So much back and forth. This attack is in response to a bus driver who was beaten and then hanged in his own bus. Israeli authorities ruled it a suicide. There’s ugly horror coming from both sides.

    • Josh says:

Daniel, if the Muslims would cut the crap all the back-and-forth would end. It’s just that simple. The Israeli’s only strike back – they never strike first.

      • Daniel says:

Like we Americans never strike first? We have never staged false flags or any other such things? Wake up man. Good fences make good neighbors. Israel for Israelis and America for Americans. I don’t see a good reason to endanger our interests by supporting theirs. One nice thing about Israel’s response though — they loosened gun restrictions in response to increased dangers instead of increasing or confiscating guns as we would see in the U.S.

No CNN, four Israeli’s were killed BY two Palestinians.

There has been a report that three of the murdered Jews are Americans, but not to worry because the muslim axe murderers are not really muslims. If the cutthroat evil murderer muslims are only pretending to be muslims, but are not really muslims, does that mean the people they murdered are only pretending to be dead? I mean it is so confusing what is going on there, if the killers are not real muslims, then it follows that maybe their murdered victims then are not really dead. Once reality is being redefined why not just continue with the lies of convenience until everything about what has happened hasn’t actually happened, if it really just depends on how anybody wants to interpret it.

Since Bassam Masri is a self-proclaimed Palestinian, I wonder how he feels about this murderous attack on Jews in their place of worship. None of the msm will ever ask him!

Exactly. The Ferguson agitators support Hamas, and support the elimination of the Jewish people. I have no idea why, but they do.

They invent “jewish” connections to Ferguson, like the false claim that “Israel” trained Ferguson police.

It all filters down from the top. Obama and Holder. Obama was “Spoon Fed” Anti-White, Anti-Jew sermons by Rev. Wright for 20 years. Holder is Anti-White Anti-Jew as well as the next AG. She hates Jews too. And to think, Jews voted overwhelmingly for Obama in 2008 and 2012.

The last 30 days of Islam’s despicable dirty deeds: http://www.thereligionofpeace.com/index.html#Attacks

Islam is the most deadly evil movement (except for abortionism) operating on the earth today.

Rape, kidnapping, slavery, torture, child and adult sex and porn trafficking, drug cartels, slaughter of innocent health care workers, worshippers in churches, synagogues, restaurants, funerals, military barracks, courthouses, police stations, on pilgrimages – Islamists perpetrate these atrocities every single day.

    Islam must be stopped.

I think that Israel knows that our government will NEVER support or protect it from muslims. Our nation also understands that when it comes to it, our government will not support us, either. We allow training camps, indoctrination centers (called mosques), influence in high government office, even our own so called leader. Our nation better come to grips with the muslim threat, and soon.

The Communist News Network (CNN) is very upset about the fact that the murderers died in the attack. See: http://www.truthrevolt.org/news/cnn-slammed-after-posting-headline-4-israelis-2-palestinians-killed-synagogue-attack#.VGtoUe-RkUc.twitter

We’ve had sporadic synagogue attacks here, various Islamic groups seem to be avoiding them at the present but at some point the gloves will come off. I’ve had no doubt for years that some ‘moderate’ group safe setting up training facilities and safe areas here, Feds have even bumped into some but the beat goes on. There are so many threads to this tapestry but the common one, I believe, will be that the Feds will be reactive with a minimal (if any) proactive stance so as not to irritate the Muslims, a stance first taken pre-first WTC attack by AG Reno. I’m betting that in order to shock the public into a denial state their attacks here won’t be as small as this one, it will have to be big and spectacular. I will also bet you the Feds have a generic-to-be-tweaked response ready to be plastered in place that will soothe the public’s ire aimed at the usual moderate suspects.

  16. CNN reported this as an attack on a mosque! When they finally fixed the headline, how do you think the revised headline read?

    a) Israeli police shoot Palestinian youths

    b) State Dept expresses concern about excessive degree of force used by Israel in attack on religious institution.

    c) World outraged at death of two Palestinians in religious attack.

    d) Settlements cause Palestinian outrage in Synagogue attack

    e) Something else

  17. Moishe Pipik says:

People who sympathize with Islamists and go to Syria or Iraq and get beheaded get recognition from the President (though he’ll deny Islam is the cause.)

AMERICAN CITIZENS who are praying while visiting another country get murdered by terrrorists — 3 in this case were Americans and that infant a few weeks ago was–and NOTHING from the President.

Israel is to ease controls on carrying weapons for self-defence after a deadly Palestinian attack on a Jerusalem synagogue, Public Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovitch said on Tuesday.

“In the coming hours, I will ease restrictions on carrying weapons,” he said in remarks broadcast on public radio, indicating it would apply to anyone with a licence to carry a gun, such as private security guards and off-duty army officers.

Lots of first-rate (but heartbreaking) coverage at http://israelmatzav.blogspot.ca/

If you have the stomach for it, you can scan down and read a couple of tweets about Dear Leader’s response to this cowardly attack: Obama statement on Palestinian terror attack calls on Israel to “lower tensions” and “Too many Israelis have died. Too many Palestinians have died,” POTUS says of J’lem attack. “Obviously, we condemn in the strongest terms.” Well, THAT has the Palestinians shaking in their shoes, doesn’t it?

Oddly enough, Hamas doesn’t seem to agree even with that milquetoast response. This is how a Hamas spokesman reacted to the massacre of Jews at prayer: “The new operation is heroic and a natural reaction to Zionist criminality against our people and our holy places. We have the full right to revenge for the blood of our martyrs in all possible means.”

As for CNN’s coverage – what a purulent pile of pus they are. You can see screen shots of their deceptive headlines on that blog as well. Disgusting.

  21. czarowniczy says:

Coincidental – was just going to mention that CNN’s reporting a fifth fatality in the synagogue attck, one of the police officers injured died. CNN’s got lotsa nice footage of aggrieved – or just bored – Palestinian protestors waving axes – the standard for low-income Muslim attacks from NYC to Tel Aviv it seems. Also mentioned that the Palestinians are handing out treats and candy in celebration of the deaths, especially the unreported (here) death of an Israeli baby at Palestinian hands. OK, here’s a deal, we start handing out candy in celebration of each Islamic death in the US. Think CMNN would treat that as kindly as they do the reverse?
