The CNN reporters who did the story are PURE EVIL. They’re asking her if she regrets an innocent man’s acquittal, and are trying to groom her to be a better speaker so she can send innocent men to jail in the future.

“You can’t judge a book by the cover.” Um…no. I can, I do and I will. She did have an uncanny ability to discern over a cell phone connection the progress of a scuffle in the grass – wet grass. “It sounded like wet grass.” In her defense, she did start telling the truth shortly after the trial, when she admitted that she believed that Trayvon hit (assaulted) Zimmerman first. http://dailycaller.com/2013/07/17/jeantel-i-believe-trayvon-hit-first-video/

Not really. She was just too stupid to keep the charade going without constant coaching.

She’s just a pawn being used the BGI to keep alive the myth that Zimmerman should have been convicted, and would have been if “dis po’ lil chile hadn’t been dissed by dat mean ole Don West and dat jury full o’ crackas.”

To this day people still argue that very point. I believe that she was making a racial remark, and not a sexual preference remark, but many believe otherwise. Naturally, she will never be asked which she meant. Not by any in the liberal media, since they really don’t want to reveal the motive for Trayvon’s attack on George Zimmerman. Especially not now, when it’s sooooo convenient to accuse Conservatives of being racists or gay-bashers.

I believe she realized the term “cracker” was racist, and threw in the part about Trayvon thinking George was some sort of “rapist” to obfuscate her earlier error. 17 year old boys aren’t afraid of being raped, so Trayvon would never have thought (or said) as much. Trayvon decided to attack George based on Trayvon’s own racism, and RJ realized that would counter the claims being made by her handlers, particularly Ben Crump. So she tried to cover up her slip.

Reportedly in only one year she meteorically advances from a 3rd grade level to being a graduate of high school, and wants to go to college? How nice, if anyone actually believes any of that story. But it would be more believable if the report was that by now after intensive tutoring she was at a fifth grade level. The college board test results will likely not show she is even minimal college material and honestly it would be my impression that her alleged “high school graduate” status is truly dubious and amounts to an encouragement kind of honorary award more than any accredited certification. High school that amounts to a four years long grind of hard work even for people of normal intelligence is simply not breezed through by anybody at a third grade level in one year of tutoring, along with two years of middle school and half the remaining elementary school fourth, fifth, and sixth grades. During only one year of tutoring she couldn’t even do the required reading, much less pass all the reading comprehension tests. So I don’t believe this publicity release personal achievement account for one minute, about the level of advancement and academic accomplishment being reported that would be doubtful for a person in their late teens, and would only rarely be possible for a child prodigy. Other than that what can be said except a high school diploma must not mean what it used to mean, and in this case probably doesn’t mean very much. Don’t get me wrong, it is good she is working on getting an education, but what I see coming through there is not the level of what I expect would be a high school graduate. It just comes across as a spin story and not a bona fide progress report, unless there has been applied some kind of affirmative action standard that is not really very reliant upon standards for what is a high school graduate particularly one that would be college material. Maybe in some dreamland, but not in the real world does somebody clear the hurdle of 9 grades work and study absorbed somehow in one year of tutoring…..just not possible. So the story is propaganda and it is lame propaganda.

I taught in rural Georgia in the same system for my entire career. In some cases, I taught 3 generations of the same family, sort of like the Jane Goodall of kindergarteners. After I lost my husband to cancer, I took a 2nd job, GED Prep. All over the US we are graduating people who read and write at a 3rd-6th grade level. There is a phenomena that happens, once in a blue moon, where students like Rachel piggyback on previous oral intelligence and advance rapidly, but she did not have a blue moon experience. I would bet my life on that. I blame the prosecution for what happened to her during GZ’s trial. Perhaps something good will happen in her life, I hope so cause the Rachel’s of the world hold our future in their hands. It is an unfortunate statistic that children will achieve the educational level of their mothers. Until they decide that the daddy is a necessity in the home, there will continue to be lots of welfare, polar bear hunts, and illiteracy. You’ll never know how often my fellow teachers and I worried that these students would be at Wendy’s, the grocers, and nursing homes as we aged; it was often. As we say in the south, bless her heart.

I see no evidence either of her masturing the skills and maturity level needed to graduate high school. This is an honorary degree or like you said affirmative action type of “achievement”. She is more like on the level of the ball players on college teams that can’t read or write past an elementary level. She still has that cocky attitude too. I can’t see enough self discipline in her to have accomplished this. Pure media spin. Without the ping logs it’s hard to tell where the truth lies here.

Trayvon Martin: Rachel Jeantel on ‘This Week’!

Rachel Jeantel, Trayvon Martin’s friend, will be featured on ABC’s “This Week” on Sunday.

In a preview, ABC News said, “In our ‘Sunday Spotlight,’ one year after George Zimmerman was found not guilty in the murder of Trayvon Martin, ABC News’ Matt Gutman catches up with Martin friend Rachel Jeantel.”

Attorney General Eric Holder also talks to “This Week” at 11 a.m. on WFTV-Channel 9. The panel will be Bill Kristol of The Weekly Standard, Republican strategist Ana Navarro, ABC’s Cokie Roberts and David Plouffe, former Obama White House senior adviser.

This is appalling, imo, not news worthy when time is being wasted on Rachel Jeantel on ‘This Week.’ Ironically, Eric Holder too will be on the show BUT not sitting in on the round table.

Will Holder be ask how the Civil Rights suit against George Zimmerman is going? Why is ‘This Week’ NOT interested in the plight of GZ?

Did she actually graduate from high school or did she get her GED?

I think it is great that she tried to improve herself by learning how to read and write. It will be even better if her reading skills develop to the point where she can read and understand a book about critical thinking or take a class about it. With those skills she can examine her own thought processes at the GZ trial.
She also needs to stop the man-shaming, which she did by calling GZ not a man. She doesn’t want to be judged as unintelligent — well, such respect must be earned, and she can start by not being sexist.

If WE were smart, we would find an honest Sanford police officer who would look again at the street surveillance camera footage … and (this time) see if Cousin Booby’s car passed by on his way to the 7/11 and then later returned to the”back gate” (as Tracy blurted out in his first TV interview).

There may be various ulterior reasons and motivations for making her into a “success story”. And there may be a great interest in keeping her surrounded by her “village” of tutors, and hidden away from unscripted interviews. But, for whatever reasons, she has some very generous and magnificent benefactors, now, who are trying to undo the damage of her years in the Florida public school system. Is there anyone trying to find out why she, and others, made it through 11th grade without learning how to read (“cursive”)?

We are witnessing a monumental effort made by the tutors and sponsors to give this (one) young woman a remedial education, an education she was never given in her elementary and secondary schools. Last year, she could not read (“cursive”, she said). With very expensive and professional full-time help, she was able to obtain a diploma from an “alternative” educational facility (The Academy for Community Education, for “at risk students”). Can she read and write now? At what level? Will she ever actually go to some sort of college? Should she? I do not know, but I wish her the very best. She is not a hero, but she is not exactly the villain in this story. She has been used as a useful pawn by others, and she continues to be used by them.

A few of the funnier moments from that video, and some observations to go along with them:

Her “support group” was named “The Village”… and rightfully so, since they certainly raised an idiot.

“When Rachel Jeantel took the stand, few people realized that she could barely read or write above a 3rd grad level…” Seriously? The only people who couldn’t see this are the ones who can only read at the 2nd grade level!

“Rachel has several career opportunities in front of her, but you can certainly rule out law…” Yeah, and anything else that requires actual ability rather than affirmative action. But hey, if these people want to waste their time and money trying to sharpen a banana…

To the extent that the jury didn’t take Rachel Jeantel seriously, it wasn’t mostly because of her appearance or behavior on the stand. It was because she had lied, claimed to be able to hear the grass, claimed to know — over the phone — that Trayvon was pushed, and thought that Zimmerman was a gay rapist. And it was clear that she had no respect for the legal process nor any grasp of the gravity of the situation.

Thus Rachel proved to be the ideal “star witness” in the case against George Zimmerman. In a prosecution that lied, ignored facts, exaggerated, and had contempt for justice and the judicial process, Rachel fit right in.

It was also because her testimony was mostly irrelevant. She wasn’t there when the shooting took place. She didn’t know what happened. At best she knew what Trayvon told her (if she was actually the one talking to him) but when people are on the phone, the don’t usually give a perfect play by play of what they’re doing. It was ridiculous that she was made out to be a “star witness”.

As Sundance and others have pointed out many times, she was used by the Martin family lawyers, and possibly the Martins themselves, to get this case to a trial so there could be a payday. I wish someone would ask her if she felt pressured to testify and, if so, who pressured her.

Not necessarily to trial. She was used to get “an arrest”.

All they really wanted was an arrest. If the charges were dropped after the payout from the HOA that would have been fine with the Scheme Team. Of course by then, there was no way for the State of Florida (Corey et al) to retreat… they had to go through the motions of a trial they knew they could never really win.

Was going to be nice, but that does it. She doesn’t deserve any sympathy at this time if that is still her mindset. Not being a man has nothing to do with what Zimmerman had to do that night. And Rachel Jentel is not stupid? Really? Just because we have a large segment of our population that revels in their stupidity, doesn’t mean we don’t get to call stupid people stupid anymore. And for those of you that didn’t know how devalued a HS diploma has become, I give you Rachel Jentel! And she plans on going to college? While it might be possible for some college to ignore her low test scores and admit her just because they want to be all political. How is she going to pass? Is she going to have someone do all the work for her? Or are they just going to pass her like high schools across the nation pass people that don’t deserve to pass. I have mixed feelings about Rachel, thanks to this site. Because of all the background research done here, I know Rachel had to be dragged kicking and screaming into this drama by the Martin family and their attorneys.

She was smart enough to realize immediately she was being used, and the self preservation instinct that it would probably end badly for her, which it did when she was put on the stand and profoundly humiliated.

As for her current situation she is still being used; now as a trained circus animal being paraded as the “success story” for obtaining a GED.

But like Trayvon, I seriously doubt that educational attainment was ever a desire of hers, or the people in her social circle. Being tutored for hours at a time was probably the last thing she wanted to do, and those who believe otherwise should explain her massive weight gain. Unfortunately, from personal experience, I also eat when I am stressed and unhappy!
