Under The Radar – Gang of Ocho Immigration Reform Advances While Everyone is Distracted….. (Must watch video)

While you were sleeping, or otherwise distracted by the shiny things dispatched by Scandalpalooza,  the usurpation continues.

WASHINGTON DC – After three long weeks of hearings and debates, spectators burst out into screams and applause Tuesday night after the Senate Judiciary Committee approved an immigration bill that would be the biggest overhaul to the nation’s immigration laws in a generation.

The bill was produced by a bipartisan group of senators known as the Gang of Eight. With four of those members on the committee, the bill survived more than 200 proposed amendments over five lengthy hearings.

Left intact was the core of the bill, which will allow the nation’s 11 million unauthorized immigrants to apply for U.S. citizenship, add significant investments in border security and fundamentally alter the legal immigration system of the future.

The committee approved the bill 13-5, meaning the bill is on track to be debated on the full Senate floor beginning the first week of June.

Some Republicans warned that the amendment process had done little to assuage their fears that they were facing a repeat of 1986, when Congress last passed a sweeping immigration bill that allowed up to 3 million people to gain citizenship, but did not fulfill its promises of fully securing the nation’s borders.  (read more)

Illegal is not a race

Watch how the Decepticons manipulate for political posturing Via ALLAHPUNDIT –  A vignette from yesterday’s kabuki Judiciary Committee hearing, preserved for posterity by Byron York because he knows the potential for amnesty-defeating conservative outrage in watching Chuck Schumer pull Republicans’ strings on immigration reform.

In case you’ve lost track during Scandalmania, the committee is still debating, i.e. summarily voting down, amendments to the Gang of Eight bill. Yesterday Jeff Sessions proposed one that would have blocked illegals who’ve been given probationary legal status under the proposed law from receiving the Earned Income Tax Credit.

That presented a dilemma for the committee’s Gang of Eight members, Schumer, Durbin, Graham, and Flake. They’ve been voting together as a bloc to kill amendments from the left and (mostly) from the right in the interest of preserving the bill’s “delicate bipartisan compromise.”

If Sessions’s amendment passed, liberals might have walked away and the whole deal would have collapsed. The Gang would much rather see a crappy bill like its own pass than see the bill improved via amendment at the price of a diminished risk of passage, so Sessions’s proposal simply had to be defeated.

The problem in this particular case was that Graham is up for reelection next year and will have enough headaches spinning his amnesty support without also having to defend a vote against barring illegals from receiving tax credits.

So Schumer did him and Flake a little kabuki favor: Knowing full well that Sessions’s amendment was going down in flames anyway since Democrats control the committee, he magnanimously agreed to let Graham and Flake cast meaningless votes in favor of it.

Turn up the volume on your computer and listen closely at 3:10 below; you’ll hear him clearly say, “Do our Republicans have a pass on this one, if they want? Yes.” (Our Republicans.)

The amendment dies, but Graham gets to go back to South Carolina and announce that he’s a stalwart opponent of benefits of for newly legalized illegals. And then he’ll turn right around and head back to D.C. to twist arms in favor of the bill, despite the EITC provisions in it. It’s a total sham.

The next phase of the sham will begin soon, as the Judiciary Committee wraps up and sends the bill to the floor — under cover of Scandalmania — for a possible quick Senate vote.

That’s why you’re seeing prominent conservatives, including the boss emeritus, issuing their open letter to kill the bill today: There isn’t much time left in the Senate to stop it. And it might not be just Graham and Flake on the GOP side who end up voting the bill out of committee; Democrats are also working hard to woo Orrin Hatch to vote with them in order to send it to the floor with bipartisan support beyond the Gang itself.

Just as I’m writing this, news is breaking that Hatch and Schumer have reached a deal on visas for high-skilled immigrants, which should lock up his support.

Now he’s one of “their Republicans” too.  (read more)

Unfortunately typical is it not? The RINO’s and their equally despicable “counterparts” “left” of the aisle as well as the rest of the “dog and pony show” smoke and mirrors that makes up our “representative” government will forever, if we allow it, only concentrate on their re-election and continuation of their personal wealth building. Our founders never invisioned nor intended the formation of “professional politicians”. We the People long ago failed in our DUTY to prevent such a scenario. We have instead willfully and exuberantly accepted and embraced the many distractions and mainstream media “explanations” provided, to relieve us from the burden of rational thought and the task of deciphering right from wrong. NOW is the time, if time still exsists to stem this slide into oblivion we most assuredly are on, to without “free phone” or promise of “utopia” stand up and say “NO MORE”! AMERICA, turn off your tv’s, remove your children from the government indoctrination centers (public schools), get down on your knees and BEG God to save our GREAT Nation, our REPUBLIC and once more align us with the covenant made by George Washington on April 30 1789. People, we ARE in fact the ONLY hope left for America. If we can’t or do not even attempt to save this Republic, this GREAT Nation built upon the One TRUE God and Jesus Christ will cease to exist. Keep in mind Zechariah 11:4-17… God gives His people the leadership they deserve. Though I am fairly new to this site, I am confident in my belief that most here are too well aware of the deliberate and orchestrated destruction of our Judeo-Christian heritage than to accept the “progressive” rewrite of history and the dismissal of God’s blessing upon the formation of The United States of America.

Let’s see, 3 million in 1986, 11 million (that we know of) included in THIS SCAM. So the government printing office should probably print up about 35 million SNAP cards, about 35 million Section 8 housing vouchers and a booklet explaining how to scam the system (oh, I forgot, the Mexican government has that one covered). The next step will be to re-vamp the Border Patrol mission statement to focus on welcoming our new democrat voters and educating them to NEVER VOTE REPUBLICAN! Thanks Graham, McCain and Rubio (FILTHY TRAITORS ALL). My disgust for our congress knows NO bounds!!!!

The most ridiculous assertion ever made by the ENABLERS of illegals is that we can’t round up an deport 13 million illegals. Give me 500 deuce and halfs and 3000 men and I’ll show you just how fast it can get done.

Tom Tancredo would be the man they need to supervise “immigration reform” and let Lou Dobbs be his public information officer. Maybe if Tom teamed up with Joe Arpaio they could help Obama sort out his own immigration status issues.

“On July 8, 2010, Tancredo said of President Barack Obama, ..the greatest threat to the United States today, the greatest threat to our liberty, the greatest threat to the Constitution of the United States, the greatest threat to our way of life; everything we believe in. The greatest threat to the country that our founding fathers put together is the man that’s sitting in the White House today.”

In April, 2010, while not addressing directly widespread “birther” sentiment in the Republican Party, Tancredo said at a South Carolina Tea Party rally about the president: “If his wife says Kenya is his homeland, why don’t we just send him back?”

On July 22, 2010, in an editorial in the Washington Times, Tancredo said that Congress should bring impeachment charges against President Obama.

In February, 2012, Tancredo said on Hardball with Chris Matthews, in a discussion of candidate Mitt Romney’s economic policy alternatives to the president: “Hell, my dog’s better at it than Obama!”
