Son Saves Family From Home Invasion/Attack – 3 Thugs Enter Home, Son Shoots One, Two Flee

HOUSTON –A 21-year-old man sprang into action to protect his family Thursday night when three suspects barged into their northwest Harris County home.

The young man was home with his mother and father in the 3900 block of Brook Garden when the armed men forced their way into the house around 8 p.m., according to Harris County Sheriff’s deputies.

Texas shooting

The family was in the middle of baking a cake, when there was a knock at the door.

“I see a young boy and I think it is a friend of my son so I open it a little bit,” the father explained. “These guys push and out comes two more, they push me on the ground.”

After the father was down, the suspects went after the mother. That is when the son ran and got his dad’s gun. He opened fire and hit one of the suspects, who died in the back bedroom. The other two suspects fled the scene.

“I just hear a couple of times; boom, boom, boom. One young life is lost,” the dad said.

Deputies responding to the call spotted a vehicle carrying two men who matched the suspects’ descriptions and pulled it over. The men were taken into custody for questioning.  (read more)

But, but, but did the gun have a failsafe trigger lock, GPS tracking and a fingerprint trigger? Was it in a safe with the ammo in another safe and, and… Oh my, a son that was taught how to use and respect weapons is what happened? 🙂

  2. TFred says:

It takes a special kind of stupid to be a home invader in Texas.

  3. Sharon says:

So a 21 year old son is in his own home, enjoying time with his parents and a cake is baking…. He sees his dad pushed down on the ground by a couple of thugs. Then he sees they are going after his mother. He gets his gun and BOOM! A young man is DEAD. And two cowards ran for their lives.

Well done, Fine Texas Son. Very well done.

Never mention the races involved when blacks attack whites, right white people hating (or merely contemptuous) media?

    • griz1234 says:

As shocking as it might be, it appears from the video that the perps were white.

Of course, in my experience when race is not mentioned and mug shots not immediately available the score is about 10 to 1 black vs. some other race.

I’m curious if anyone has tried to do formal research on this form of bias, but even at an informal level of noticing that race is not mentioned and then personally following up , the FACT that the MSM media does everything it can to obfuscate black-on-white crime is clear… Even if the precise statistic isn’t quantified.

  7. That’s why big cities want to take the guns away from whitey.

    • griz1234 says:

Yes, it’s racist when the race that commits crime at a much higher rate than the rest of society is shot by law abiding citizens at a higher rate as well.

“I just hear a couple of times; boom, boom, boom. One young life is lost,” the dad said.

You come barging into my home, and go after my family, my reaction will be similar to that espoused by this Florida appellate court:

“That the attacker sustained a mortal wound is a matter that should have been considered by the deceased before he committed himself to the task he undertook.”

    • maggiemoowho says:

I like it 🙂 I hope the other two can be charged for the death of their friend.

Chip, the quote you have in bold needs to be in the GZ thread as well, dontcha think?
I feel exactly the same about TM’s actions a year late It’s called consequences. Thanks for posting that. I see it’s from a FL court, too. Hmmmmm…..

  9. Unicron says:

My only regret is that the other two home invaders survived the ordeal. I used to be of the mindset of people needing to be rehabilitated, and it was poor upbringing and a disadvantaged background yadda yadda yadda…

At some point, whether there’s truth to that or not, you stop caring. There are 7 billion people and growing now. I see no reason whatsoever to mourn the lost potential of some burglarizing scumbag.

  10. It’s interesting to compare self-defense shootings. If the defender is white, and the deceased in black, and you live in a predominently black area, you pretty much have to move away like Damon Wells of the Cleveland area.

The young black man who is killed was often “rning his life around” when the crime occurred.

  11. Eric says:

Anyone who is a burglar, doesn’t deserve pity of any kind. Your there for:

    a.) Steal
    b.) Kill

Don’t let anyone do either of the above mentioned.

  12. But, but, but, doesn’t anybody here care that he might have become a horseack riding pilot, astronaut philanthropic brain surgeon if he had just had a chance? (In case there be any misunderstanding “sarc off”.)

Someone defending their home is on the news here in Houston is almost a daily occurrence.

St. Louis homeowner kills 15-year-old burglar, police say

“A 15-year-old burglary suspect in St. Louis is dead after being shot by the homeowner.”
“Demetrius Murphy was killed around 1:30 a.m. Friday in the back yard of a home near Gravois Park.”

“Police say Murphy and a 17-year-old were trying to burglarize the home. The 33-year-old male homeowner went outside to investigate and reportedly shot Murphy as Murphy approached him.”

“The homeowner’s name has not been released. Police say the shooting appears to be justified.”

“A state law known as the castle doctrine allows people who encounter an intruder in their homes or vehicles to use deadly force without fear of being charged or sued.”

“The 17-year-old accomplice could face murder charges because Murphy died during a burglary.”

And here’s a little hood in-the-making. Lil Poopy was ONLY “ACTING” NOT “DOING”!

Massachusetts boy’s rap videos spark child abuse investigation

“Massachusetts authorities say they have lodged child abuse and neglect complaints against a man whose 9-year-old son appears in sexually suggestive rap videos posted online.”

“Police in Brockton said Sunday they are also informing state child welfare officials about the videos that feature fourth-grader Luie Rivera Jr., who goes by the stage name Lil Poopy.”

“The videos show the boy slapping a woman’s buttocks, engaging in sexually suggestive dances and glorifying drug use and materialism.”

“Lt. David Dickinson told The Enterprise that the videos are “a bit much for a 9-year old.”
Police started investigating after a feature story on the boy appeared in the paper.”

“His father, Luis Rivera, said his son is simply acting and not doing anything wrong. He said he plans to contact his lawyer.”

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

If it was my kid, I’d send him to the range and practice some more. I mean, three targets and he only hits one? 😆

  18. Good for him! A home invasion usually means only one thing — a desire to harm or kill the homeowners. A home invader in Texas must not be very bright. It’s like breaking into an Alaskan home. If the husky dog doesn’t eat you, the homeowner is going to shoot you. Maybe if you’re new to the state you don’t know that, but you usually find out about it around your third day or so. We’re all armed and we’re all grouchy as spring bears when you wake us up in 3 am by kicking in our back door. We have to repair that door and the dogs are barking and it’s 3 am — BAM! That seems like a reasonable response.
