Bumper Sticker Of The Day…

About Patriot Dreamer

“When you see that trading is done, not by consent, but by compulsion – when you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing – when you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors – when you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don’t protect you against them, but protect them against you – when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice – you may know that your society is doomed.” ~Ayn Rand *************************************************** In the battle between good intentions vs. unintended consequences….UC always win. ~Sharon

The kids are busy rehearsing the “Praise Be To Obama” song for the intro.

    • czarowniczy says:

The POtuS is mo’ smarterer than that – He’s sending Biden out to garner the heat. If it all pans out in His favor He’ll take the credit but if it hits a brick wall He’ll leave Smokin’ Joe out there in the cold.

    • michellc says:

He came on with a lot more bs, children wrote him letters wanting to be safe, wanting him to do something. American people need to step up and contact their congressmen and ask them if they’re for gun control and if not then why not. Do they like seeing all the kids murdered, all the kids who won’t celebrate a birthday and would have celebrated a birthday if the assault weapon ban had not expired. The people agree with him. He’s going to use the full weight of his office to push this stuff through. He ended with let’s sign these orders. He never got to what those orders are.

Tossing together a few random thoughts here: (1) Dumbocrats are surfing the emotional wave here to eliminate legal ownership of firearms a group at a time. (2) Illegal weapons are easily available to criminal elements (drug dealers, pimps, and muggers, not politicians…on 2nd thought…) in those cities which are Democrat-run and already have draconian gun laws. (3) The huge numbers of Spanish-speaking violent gangs infecting US cities on both coasts and the Midwest have no problems obtaining illegal weapons and should not even after a weapons ban. (4) The Democrats are pushing an immigration reform bill through that will immediately pardon some 12-million law-breaking illegal immigrants and give them US citizenship and (Democratic) voting rights. without effective background checks (5) Armed criminals float through the US-Mexico border like water through a sieve, threatening and attacking those US citizens who live along the border and whom the Democrats will disarm. (6) Members of the US military working the US/Mexico border have to have special classes on dealing with Mexican police and military in case they run into them deep inside of the US border – the Mex military and police are armed but the US military is generally prohibited from carrying weapons in THEIR OWN COUNTRY to protect themselves from said Mex police and military who may be guarding drug shipments. (7) Mex military/police have fired on US Customs personnel while said Mexicans were trying to retrieve a truck full of drugs stuck inside of US territory and may have fired upon US residents inside of US borders. (8) Mexican cartel kidnappings for ransom are starting to happen inside of the US yet the Democrats are more interested in disarming US citizens than they are protecting them from violent foreign gangs. It goes on but I think we may be seeing a pattern emerging.

There’s a recent news article that says that 90% of the violence in Oakland is due to gangs:

      • czarowniczy says:

I wondered for years, while working the issue, how much $$$ the gangs poured into the pockets of politicians. You’d see gang members sporting the dress and tattoos, strutting down the street, yet you are prevented from doing a stop-and-frisk for fear of probable cause issues, issues that wouldn’t even be raised were they just run-of-the-mill thugs. an 18-year old gangbanger can go into a luxury car dealership and pay cash for a hi-end ‘ride’ but it’s a privacy issue for the dealership to report it (not that they wanted to) to the po-leeces of the DA’s office as suspicious. We had intel lists of known big-time dealers but some tended to be ‘protected’ from any kind of proactive law enforcement measures, even at the Federal level. I’ve talked to cops in major cities who have detailed dossiers on trans-national gangs in their cities but they have to jump through legal hoops just to surveil the top echelons, and even then the surveillance frequently just gets loaded into the intel ‘nice to read’ files. Judges release gang shooters on bail whom police have solid cases on, ands witnesses get shot or suddenly recant – poof, no case. These armed gangs get to flaunt their illegal activities while the various levels of government come down on the average honest, hardworking Joes who frequently get caught in the crossfire.

I posted two FBI reports. First one – “33,000 violent street gangs, motorcycle gangs, and prison gangs with about 1.4 million members are criminally active in the U.S. today.” At one gun a piece that’s a whole ****load of lead.

        “Two groups are at war”

You can’t say “gangs” any more. Not PC.

  4. brocahontas says:

Anyone who has any political influence should seriously consider forming strong opposition to Democrats and Obama. They are drunk with power and self righteousness. Tyrants rise to power when they are unopposed by someone willing to fight them back as strong as they give.

  5. Deputizing doctors to report citizen gun ownership.
Somehow this reeks of the stench of ObamaCare. 😮

My sniffer is gone from inhaling sulfur 24/7 down here,
but something stinks coming out of the White House…
    make that: -everything- stinks. 👿

[Updated at 12:22 p.m. ET] The announcement is over, and Obama is signing the 23 executive actions. These actions are in addition to laws that Obama wants Congress to pass. Here, according to the White House, are the 23 executive actions that he and his administration will do:

    1. “Issue a presidential memorandum to require federal agencies to make relevant data available to the federal background check system.”

    2. “Address unnecessary legal barriers, particularly relating to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, that may prevent states from making information available to the background check system.”

    3. “Improve incentives for states to share information with the background check system.”

    4. “Direct the attorney general to review categories of individuals prohibited from having a gun to make sure dangerous people are not slipping through the cracks.”

    5. “Propose rulemaking to give law enforcement the ability to run a full background check on an individual before returning a seized gun.”

    6. “Publish a letter from ATF to federally licensed gun dealers providing guidance on how to run background checks for private sellers.”

    7. “Launch a national safe and responsible gun ownership campaign.”

    8. “Review safety standards for gun locks and gun safes (Consumer Product Safety Commission).”

    9. “Issue a presidential Memorandum to require federal law enforcement to trace guns recovered in criminal investigations.”

    10. “Release a DOJ report analyzing information on lost and stolen guns and make it widely available to law enforcement.”

    11. “Nominate an ATF director.”

    12. “Provide law enforcement, first responders, and school officials with proper training for active shooter situations.”

    13. “Maximize enforcement efforts to prevent gun violence and prosecute gun crime.”

    14. “Issue a presidential memorandum directing the Centers for Disease Control to research the causes and prevention of gun violence.”

    15. “Direct the attorney general to issue a report on the availability and most effective use of new gun safety technologies and challenge the private sector to develop innovative technologies.”

    16. “Clarify that the Affordable Care Act does not prohibit doctors asking their patients about guns in their homes.”

    17. “Release a letter to health care providers clarifying that no federal law prohibits them from reporting threats of violence to law enforcement authorities.”

    18. “Provide incentives for schools to hire school resource officers.”

    19. “Develop model emergency response plans for schools, houses of worship and institutions of higher education.”

    20. “Release a letter to state health officials clarifying the scope of mental health services that Medicaid plans must cover.”

    21. “Finalize regulations clarifying essential health benefits and parity requirements within ACA exchanges.”

    22. “Commit to finalizing mental health parity regulations.”

    23. “Launch a national dialogue led by Secretaries Sebelius and Duncan on mental health.”

Any doctor asks me about guns in my home, I’m telling him/her it’s none of their damned business.

      • WeeWeed says:

        That’s because you’re a lady, Stellap. I shall be a tad more blunt. 👿

      • lovemygirl says:

I can’t wait until the next visit. I know mine is a gun enthusiast and hates Obamacare. If I told him none of his business he would laugh because we were shooting at the range together over the holidays.

If I’m in a particularly sarcastic mood, I might just refer my doc to the Journal News. 👿

      • yankeeintx says:

I’m betting doctors will be instructed to check the “yes” box if anyone refuses to answer. I think I’ll respond with “I don’t believe in keeping dangerous weapons in my home”, because I know my weapons aren’t dangerous in my home, they would only be dangerous in the hands of someone evil or criminal. That way, I’m not even lying.

    • michellc says:

      10. “Release a DOJ report analyzing information on lost and stolen guns and make it widely available to law enforcement.”

Hmmm…. Does that mean LE can now arrest Eric Holder and multiple other DOJ employees as well as ATF and FBI.

      19. “Develop model emergency response plans for schools, houses of worship and institutions of higher education.”
My house of worship has that one covered, you walk in waving a gun and at least half the congregation is going to disarm you the hard way.

    • ctdar says:

      21. Finalize regulations clarifying essential health benefits and parity requirements within ACA exchanges.
“….parity requirements within Affordable Care Act exchanges”… wth does that mean? Sharing patient medical information within other federal agencies??

    1.) *flex* Damn right.
2.) Have you seen my wife?
3.) Guns are too mainstream. I prefer going medieval in a literal sense.
4.) *drop pants* WMD right here.
5.) Guns pollute the environment. Go green with the crossbow.
